A/N: This chapter is rather a large one and I really wanted to put in some flashbacks but I wasn't sure how so everything in italics is a flashback, once again thanks for the love xx
"Thank you for your time, Miss Connor," The detective began, "First things first we just need to know what happened last night from around 8:30."
"Well Peter Barlow had been having an affair with Tina and decided to take Carla in the back and tell her," Michelle replied, "Obviously Carla wasn't happy and she left-"
"How did she leave?" The detective interrupted.
"Sorry?" Michelle questioned.
"Well did she leave silently, happily," The detective exampled.
"Well obviously not," Michelle retorted, "She was angry, shouting and all that."
"And did she threaten Miss McIntyre in anyway?" The detective asked.
Michelle rolled her eyes before replying, "You obviously know she did."
"And what did she threaten?" He mused.
Michelle fell silent for a moment before sighing, "She said she was gonna kill her."
"Okay, moving on," The detective noted, "What happened after this."
"We went outside, with Carla's daughter as well-"
"Her daughter being Ophelia Connor," The detective interrupted.
"Aha," Michelle nodded continuing, "So we talked for a minute and then she went off, as she did that Rob came out of number one and all three of us went back into the pub to see Peter in the back room. Peter tried to be nice to Lia at which she got upset at and left, when I went back Rob and Peter were…arguing."
"What do mean by arguing? Physically or verbally?" The detective questioned.
"Physically," Michelle said slowly.
"Both of them or just one?" The detective raised his eyebrow.
"One," Michelle breathed, "Rob he hit Peter a couple of times and then Steve my husband broke it up."
"Mhm," The detective mused.
"Peter left and me and Rob went to look for Carla and Lia, I was looking for Carla and he was looking for Lia."
"And what time was this?" The detective asked.
"Well I wasn't prioritising what time it was, I was a bit busy," Michelle retorted.
"Approximately?" The detective quipped back with a smirk.
"20 to 10," Michelle shrugged.
"Continue," The detective nodded.
"Where are we looking for them?" Michelle asked.
"Factory?" Rob suggested as Michelle nodded, "I'll try round the Bistro then round the back of the houses and that, you know what Lia's like she's probably just sulked off somewhere."
"Right yeah, that's sounds good," Michelle agreed making their way over towards the factory.
"I'm just gonna go in the shop," Rob told Michelle as she nodded and moved towards the factory.
She pushed the door to the factory open as it squeaked in the movement. She walked through and into the office flicking the light on to reveal no one there she went to leave before deciding to sit down on the chair. She flicked her hair to one side out of her face and breathed out heavily. Thoughts raced through her head as she sat, she pulled out her phone and attempted to ring Carla again, going through to voicemail Michelle huffed and hung up. After a few minutes she got up and made her way out of the factory, deciding on where to check next she moved to the bistro, Dev's and then back to the Rovers just to double check she hadn't returned. After confirming Carla wasn't in the Rovers Michelle stood slumped against the doors outside trying to phone her friend once again. However as the call went to voicemail, Michelle noticed from across the road that Carla's flat door was pushed open slightly. Deciding to investigate she made her way over, pushing the door gently and making her way up the stairs until she reached the front door to the flat.
"Carla!" Michelle shouted as she walked through the door to reveal the women sat at the table a bottle of red wine within her reach, "What are you doing darling?"
"Don't worry I haven't had any," Carla muttered, "Yet."
"What happened to the flat?" Michelle whispered softly looking around to reveal broken glass and stained furniture shattered around the room.
"Well I had to take my anger out of something didn't I," Carla sighed looking at the photo within the glass frame of her, Peter and Lia on their wedding night, "We were so happy Chelle."
"I know darling," Michelle said sympathetically taking her hand.
"I really need a drink right now," Carla laughed slightly in a bitter manner.
"You don't sweetheart I promise, your stronger than that," Michelle reassured her.
"I don't feel strong anymore," Carla confessed as she looked at the photo one more time before throwing it against the wall causing the glass to shatter and Carla to scream out in tears.
"Okay Car, okay it's alright I'm here," Michelle whispered as Carla collapsed into her arms sobbing heavily.
"Why weren't we enough?" Carla cried.
"You are more than enough, he is scum Carla," Michelle assured as she hugged the woman her breathing slowly down eventually.
They stayed close for a few minutes in silent before the sound of sirens drown the street.
"Then we went out and saw the ambulance," Michelle finished off.
"And what time did you both leave the flat?" The detective questioned.
"I don't know," Michelle shrugged, "Probably like quarter past 10."
"Okay, thank you Miss Connor, for your time," The detective nodded standing up, "We won't be long."
"Carla's pregnant," Michelle began, "She shouldn't be this stressed."
"Thanks again," The detective ignored her comment and left the room.
The detective pushed the door open to Carla's interview room to which she grunted.
"Finally," Carla muttered.
"Thanks for your patience," The second detective gave a short smile.
"So Mrs Barlow," The detective began, "We would like to know what happened from around 8:30 last night."
"Peter came back to the pub and said he wanted to leave, I said no so Steve told us the back room was available if we wanted it. That's where he told me he'd been with that slag since our wedding," Carla explained.
"And that being Tina McIntyre?" The detective asked.
"Yeah, Tina," Carla scoffed rolling her eyes.
"Okay, what happened after he told you about the affair?"
"I was annoyed obviously," Carla sighed resting her head on her hand, "Michelle tried to calm me down but I was angry so I stormed out-"
"And did you say anything as you went?" The detective smirked slightly.
"I said I was going to kill her," Carla huffed, "But it was an idle threat I was never gonna act on it."
"Okay," The detective signalled for her to continue.
"Michelle and Lia came outside with me and tried to talk to me but I'd also found out that Lia knew about the affair so I stormed off," Carla explained.
"And where did you go?" The detective Interrogated.
Carla's heels clattered against the cobbles as she approached Tina's flat and came to the door. Her palms pummelled against the door, she kicked her foot against the door yet still nothing.
"Tina!" Carla screamed, "Get down here now!"
With still no answer Carla kicked the door one more time before huffing and throwing her hands in her head. A small scream escaped her mouth as she began to stomp around the corner towards the flat. She lifted the stone up near the door and pulled out the spare key jamming it in the keyhole. She slammed the door behind her and entered the flat. Suddenly the world hit her, her body fell into the front room as she grabbed the sofa for support. She stayed there for a minute before collapsing to the floor, the silence consuming her mind. Carla stayed there for a while before her mind took over ,she threw herself up and spun around she, walked around the sofa picked up one photo frame at a time and started throwing them at the wall watching the frame shatter throughout the room. After clearing the shelf of photos she walked over to the kitchen and opened the cupboard to pull out two bottles of red wine. She quickly opened one and threw the top over her shoulder, she began to spray the bottle around the time watching the red liquid stain the walls and the sofa and the carpet until most of the room could be seen in as a red sea. Finally she aimed the glass bottle at the furthest wall listening to the smash and then flew out the flat and back onto the street. She clattered round the corner to Tina's flat to see the flat door slightly open she shouted up the stairs before thundering up and pushing the front door open.
"Tina!" Carla shouted as she walked forward and the young girl showed herself from the bedroom.
"Carla," Tina started her voice slightly broken.
"Why," Carla demanded.
"I'm sorry-"
"No why Tina, why me, why him," Carla stopped her, "Why MY husband, I mean I know you couldn't keep your own but your that desperate you go for someone double your age?"
"It was an accident," Tina excused.
"No Tina," Carla snapped pushing the girl back into the bedroom, "It wasn't an accident though was it, cause at what point did you stop? At the wedding did you even think about me? Eh Tina, any thoughts?"
"I tried!" Tina shouted, "I didn't want to fall for him but I did! I loved him!"
Carla scoffed, "Oh give me a break!"
"I'm being serious!" Tina shouted ending a sharp sound echoing through the air as Carla's hand slapped Tina's face.
"No Tina, I, I am being serious," Carla spat as she pushed her up against the wall her hand cupping her throat, "When I say you will regret this I really mean it."
"Carla," Tina gasped between her slowed breaths.
Carla moved her hand as Tina fell to the floor, she went to walk out before snapping around, "Tina you are not the victim here."
Carla gasped for breathe as she fell against the wall outside of Tina's flat. She struggled to collect her breathe looking down at the floor before taking a deep breathe and looking around. Spotting Tracy coming along the street she shook off her stress, straightened herself up and walked back to flat. Slamming the door behind her Carla stormed over the kitchen island grabbed the bottle of wine and slammed the wine on the table taking a seat next to it.
"So what time did you attack Miss McIntyre?" The detective asked.
"Attack," Carla scoffed.
"The time?" The detective questioned raising his eyebrows.
"Quarter to 10, I don't know," Carla shook her head sighing.
"And did you speak to Tracy Barlow?" The detective questioned.
"No I wasn't actually in the talking mood, believe it or not," Carla spat.
"Right thank you Mrs Barlow for your time, we shouldn't be long," The detective stated getting up.
"You said that last time," Carla muttered rolling her eyes, resting her head on the table.
Finally the detective pushed the door open to reveal Rob pacing up and down the room.
"You said you weren't gonna be long," Rob snapped.
"Thank you for your patience," The detective returned taking a seat and signalling to Rob to do so as well.
"Is Carla okay?" Rob questioned, "She's pregnant and her husband has been cheating on her do you think she needs this right now?"
"I am aware thank you," The detective nodded, "We'll be as quick as we can. I just want to find out what happened last night from around 8:30."
"Well I'd left the pub before that to go and be with my fiancé next door at number 1, when I came out it was probably about 9 o'clock and that's when I saw Carla going off up the street and Michelle and Lia stood outside the pub," Rob began to explain, "We went into the back room and Peter tried to act all nice with Lia which obviously upset her so she stormed out the Rovers. Me and Peter argued-"
"How many times did you punch Mr Barlow?" The detective asked.
"Sorry?" Rob raised his eyebrows.
"We have accounts that you got into an altercation with Mr Barlow, how long were you fighting with him?" The detective explained.
"Not long," Rob sighed rolling his eyes, "A minute tops, Steve and Michelle stopped anything going any further and then Chelle kicked him out."
"Okay so what happened after this?" The detective nodded.
"Me and Michelle decided to go and look for Carla and Lia," Rob replied.
"Where are we looking for them?" Michelle asked.
"Factory?" Rob suggested as Michelle nodded, "I'll try round the Bistro then round the back of the houses and that, you know what Lia's like she's probably just sulked off somewhere."
"Right yeah, that sounds good," Michelle agreed making their way over to the factory.
As they walked out the corner of his eye he saw Peter stumbling into Dev's, "I'm just gonna go to the shop," Rob told Michelle as she nodded and moved towards the factory.
Rob pushed the door open making the bell sound to reveal a scene between Dev and Peter, "Peter I can't serve you."
"Please mate come on, my life's falling apart right now," Peter begged.
"And this won't help," Dev protested.
"You never know it might do," Rob interrupted, "He might end up killing his liver once and for all."
"Oh I don't need you to add to this right now!" Peter huffed turning to Rob.
"My sister didn't need you having an affair with a girl half your age but that didn't stop you," Rob spat as Dev stood by and watched in awe.
"I've said I'm sorry!" Peter exclaimed, "What else am I meant to do!"
"Awe well that's alright then, ey mate," Rob retorted grabbing a bottle of whiskey off the shelf and slamming it down on the counter, "Just that Dev please."
"£15 please," Dev nodded taking the money from Rob as the man picked the bottle up from the counter and walked to the door.
"Come on then Peter, you wanted it, come and get it," Rob taunted walking out the door shortly followed by Peter.
Rob grabbed Peter by the jacket and pulled him round the corner of the shop, he dragged him along the path and pushed him into the wall with extreme force.
"Now you listen to me Peter," Rob threatened through gritted teeth pushing the whiskey to his chest, "Take this, do what you always do go and wallow in your own self pity, drink yourself into oblivion but you do not go near Carla or Lia or any of us for that matter."
"I still love her," Peter protested.
"What did you say!" Rob scoffed pushing him harder against the wall as Peter groaned in pain, "You don't deserve her, you never did and you never will. Now take this, and go."
Peter pushed Rob off him and snatched the bottle out of his hands and began to walk off, "Peter I mean it, you go near here and you won't live to regret it."
Rob took a deep breathe before walking around the back of all the houses in and out of the ginnels looking for his niece before heading over to the Red Rec.
"And what time did you head over to the Red Rec?" The detective questioned
"Probably about 10 to 10, it had been about 20 or so minutes after leaving the Rovers?" Rob replied.
"Okay and where did you go after that?" The detective continued.
"Well when I couldn't find her I decided to come back and try and find Chelle and Carla cause neither of them were answering their phones, but as I came round that's when the ambulance came for Tina," Rob explained.
"Right thank you for that, Mr Donovan, your welcome to go," The detective finalized, "Thank you for your time."
"Finally," Rob muttered pushing the chair out form under him and flinging the door open.
The door buzzed as Michelle, Carla and Rob all waled out into the front part of the station followed by the detectives to reveal Liz and Lia both sat on the seats eagerly waiting there arrival.
"Mum!" Lia exclaimed leaping off the chair as Carla enveloped her in a hug.
"What are you doing here?!" Carla exclaimed releasing her daughter.
"Liz tried to say you'd went for a walk?" Lia judged looking between them.
"Well I didn't have much time to think of a better excuse," Carla commented laughing slightly, "Why didn't you just wait at the pub."
"Well she was coming whether she was on her own or not so I thought it was better I came with her," Liz answered standing up.
"Thank you, Liz," Carla smiled as Liz smiled back.
"So what happened?" Liz asked.
"We may want to speak to you three again, pending further investigations," The detective replied.
"Shock," Michelle muttered moving round to Liz where she moved her arm around her daughter in law.
"Really, I mean till when!" Rob snapped.
"Rob move," Carla pulled him.
"No Carla its ridiculous! I mean have they not talked to Peter!" Rob exclaimed.
"Rob stop, they'll be lucky to find him sober you know that as well as I do!" Carla shook her head before pulling him towards the door, "Move!"
Rob grunted before walking out followed by the rest of them, Lia clinging onto her mother in hopes to never let her go.
