The machine beeped per second as it guided Lia's heartbeat in the correct pattern. Carla took a large sigh and kissed her daughter's head before leaving the room and seeing her friend.

"What've the doctors said babe?" Michelle asked as she put her arm around Carla.

"She'll be fine, we're just waiting for her to wake up," Carla explained.

"Awe I'm so sorry," Michelle tutted.

"Don't be silly it's not your fault," Carla said with a half smile hugging her friend tighter.

"How she doing?" Rob began as he walked through the corridor up to the two women.

"Fine," Carla sighed, "How are you have they checked you?"

"I'm fine, like I told you," Rob replied.

"Yeah well I could do without you lying in a hospital bed next to your niece so better safe than sorry," Carla mused before she turned between the two, "By the way, I know I've said it once but thank you so much for going in for her."

"Cause we did, she's family," Rob smiled hugging his sister as Maisie came walking up the corridor with her parents.

"Carla?" She questioned weakly.

Carla turned her head and saw the teenager before going up to her and hugging the girl, "Are you okay sweetie?"

"Yeah she'll be fine, on a asthma pump for a bit but she'll be okay," Maisie mum smiled.

"Is Lia okay?" Maisie asked her throat crackling.

"Yeah she's just sleeping but she'll but okay I promise," Carla smiled weakly, "By the way, I know it might be hard but do you remember what happened last night?"

"No I'm sorry Carla, have the detectives said what they think started it yet?" Maisie asked as Carla nodded.

"They said it might have started via something like the oven, something with gas, but surely it would have to be on for anything to happen," Carla wondered as Maisie's face dropped slightly.

"Oh yeah," Maisie muttered.

"Sweetie do you know something?" Carla mused as Maisie shook her head.

"Right come on you, lets go home," Maisie's mum put her hand on Maisie's shoulder as she nodded and moved away towards the exit, giving one last passing smile to Carla.

"Carla," Michelle called as she looked through the window to see Lia waking up.

Carla took a sigh of relief and walked into her daughters room, Michelle and Rob stood outside watching over her. She walked over and took a seat on her daughter's bed as her eyelids began to flutter open.

"Mum?" Lia muttered as she placed her head back down on the pillow.

"Hiya baby," Carla smiled taking her hand.

"I'm sorry mum," Lia voice broke as she began to cough.

"Don't worry, okay, that cough'll go soon as well," Carla mused.

"I know you said no but we were drinking last night," Lia admitted as Carla nodded.

"Thank you for telling me, baby," Carla smiled slightly, "Lia can I ask, did you put the oven on last night?"

Lia sat in silent thought for a minute before responding, "Well yeah, but I'm positive we turned it off. It was only to warm the pizzas up."

"Okay, that's fine," Carla nodded slightly as Lia's face dropped.

"That's not what started the fire is it?" Lia fretted.

"It might not of been," Carla shook her head before placing her hand on her hand, "Please don't stress sweetheart, and even if it was the oven. And that's a massive if. It was a mistake."

"The police aren't gonna arrest me are they!" Lia stressed as Carla gave out a nervous laugh.

"No don't be silly," Carla soothed as she moved from the bottom of the bed to the side of her daughter and put her arm around Lia, "No one got hurt dramatically, it was a mistake baby."

A tear fell from Lia's eye as Michelle tapped gently at the door and Carla beckoned her in, "Hi darling, how you feeling."

"I promise I didn't know Amy or Simon were there Chelle, I promise!" Lia blurted out as Michelle's face melted.

"Awe Lia we know that, they told us they snuck in, they said they just wanted to join in," Michelle explained as she moved closer to the bed.

"I really didn't mean to hurt them I didn't mean to hurt anyone," Lia cried as Carla stroked her head.

"Okay baby, we know, come on lie down and try and get some more sleep," Lia shushed her as she nodded and laid her head back down on the pillow.

Carla shushed her slightly before edging off the bed and following Michelle out of the hospital room, they shut the door and beckoned Rob over from the coffee machine.

"She says she put the oven on to warm the pizzas through last night but she turned it off, she swears," Carla explained.

"That's why she's so distressed, she thinks its her fault," Michelle realised.

"I've told her it was a mistake even if it was her," Carla replied.

"Yeah exactly it may not even of been the oven, it hasn't been confirmed yet," Rob nodded as they all agreed.

Out of the corner of her eye, Carla saw Leanne and Simon leaving the hospital.

"Oh Si!" Carla called, she watched Leanne look at her and swiftly move her son out of the door in order to ignore the women.

"Yeah well mistake or not clearly she's not moved on has she," Rob muttered as Carla sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Listen I need to get back to Fia," Michelle explained as Carla nodded with a small smile, "Is Peter bringing the twins back?"

"Yeah but not to the street obviously," Carla rolled her eyes as Rob interrupted.

"Coward."

Carla huffed and carried on, "Yeah well he's dropping them off at the petrol station tomorrow just outside of Weatherfield and I'll pick them up from there."

"Right I'm gonna have to be off," Michelle hugged her friend, "Let me know how she is okay?"

"Course Chelle," Carla gave her a smile.

"Why don't you go and have a shower?" Rob suggested looking to Carla.

"Yeah but..." Carla pointed to Lia through the window as she lay on the bed.

"I'll look after her," Rob interrupted, "She drifting off to sleep now anyway."

"You don't mind?" Carla checked.

"Of course not," Rob kissed the top of her head, "I'll look after her."

"I won't be long," Carla smiled slightly before walking off down the corridor.
