"That's a great idea!"
"That's a horrible idea!"
Angela looked between the two women in confusion.
"Wendy! How can you possibly say Angela marrying Andy would be a great idea?!" Isabelle asked in frustration.
Wendy held her hand up. "Hold on! I'm not saying she should actually marry him. All she has to do is accept his proposal and start planning the wedding. Tony will get jealous and beg her to call it off! See, it's perfect!" She grinned and grabbed some of the cheese and crackers.
Angela grabbed her glass of wine and took a long swallow.
"Wendy, that is ridiculous!" Isabelle shook her head and took a sip of her wine.
"Oh come on! It worked before, right? Remember when Tony took the ART TART out just so he could follow Angela on her date with Christopher?"
Angela and Isabelle choked on their wine.
"ART TART?" Isabelle chuckled.
"Hey you refer to her as: 'she who shall not be named!' "
"Okay Okay. But honestly. What do you think is going to happen? Tony is going to burst through the church door, come running up, and yell that he loves Angela, and throw her over his shoulder?"
"OOH Can he be wearing tight jeans and no shirt?!" Wendy clapped her hands with a big grin overcoming her face.
"Why would Tony be shirtless?"
"Hey come on. Don't ruin my fantasy!" Wendy threw a cracker at her.
Isabelle picked it up and stuffed it in her mouth.
"Angela, come on now. Why are you thinking of marrying Andy?"
"Well because I don't want to be alone for the rest of my life."
"But do you love him?"
Angela took a few crackers and some cheese and took a few bites.
"Well?"
"I….no I don't."
"Then how can you possibly even think of marrying him?"
"Because he loves me and I do care about him and since Tony loves Kathleen.."
"Wait a moment! Did Tony tell you he loved her?!" Wendy asked.
"No, he hasn't. But come on, it's obvious that he does!"
"How?" Wendy took a sip of her wine.
"Well let's see. He met her Father. He helped redecorate her apartment."
"But that doesn't mean that he loves her." Isabelle said gently.
"Then why is he still with her?! When I found out about them and suggested that maybe we should broaden our horizons and explore our options I figured they would just go out on a few dates and that would be that. But it wasn't. It turned into a serious relationship. And it's all my fault!"
"How is any of this your fault?" Isabelle asked in confusion
"Because I suggested they all go to a hotel and study."
"Yeah, you did. But all they were supposed to do was study! Tony was the one who decided to betray you by screwing the ART TART!" Wendy grimaced.
Angela felt her eyes filling with tears. Isabelle grabbed a few tissues and handed them to her.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome."
"Angela, Wendy is right. All they were supposed to do was study. "
"I know. But, it certainly didn't end that way did it?!"
"Angela, I am going to ask you another question."
"Okay. What?"
"Why didn't you ask Tony not to see Kathleen anymore? Why did you let him go?"
Angela shook her head in frustration. "What the hell was I supposed to do? Get down on my knees and beg him not to see her anymore?! When I asked him if it was over with her.. Well you both know what he said!"
Isabelle and Wendy glanced at each other. They knew all too well.
"Yeah, he didn't know." Wendy rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, so I knew then and there I had to let him go. I mean he chose her over me. They went further in one night than we had in the last seven years. "
"Oh Angela." Isabelle put her arm around her
"And it's just like that one saying."
"What saying?"
"If you have to choose between two people, pick the second. Because if you loved the first person you would have never fallen for the second."
Wendy got up and sat down on the other side of Angela.
"So you see, Tony does love her."
"I don't think he loves her. No, scratch that! I know he doesn't love her. He loves you. He is just scared. " Wendy rubbed her shoulder.
"Yeah, I know. Tony has always been a little sensitive because of our different backgrounds."
"Yeah and with the ART TART well they don't have that problem."
"And that just proves my point! Tony loves her and is going to marry her!"
"Angela, you just need to be a little more patient. Sooner or later Tony is going to realize what a stupid mistake he made and end things with her." Wendy assured her
"Yeah, and if before that happens you decide to accept Andy's proposal what would you do then?" Isabelle elbowed her.
"I.. well I would have to go through with it."
"And you would be married to a man you don't love."
"It wouldn't solve anything, right?" Angela glanced between them.
Isabelle shook her head.
Wendy sighed. "No it wouldn't. But I still love the idea of Tony bursting through the church doors shirtless and wearing tight jeans."
Angela and Isabelle picked up a couple of crackers and threw them at her.

"Tony! Come on in!" Mrs. Rossini ushered him into her apartment.
"Hey Mrs. R." Tony gave her a hug.
She pulled back and looked at him
"What's wrong?"
"How do you know something is wrong?"
She led him over to the dining table. "Tony, I have known you since you were a baby. You are like a son to me. I know when something is wrong."
Tony smiled. "Yeah, I can't keep anything from you can I?"
"No, you can not. But first hold on a moment. I'll be right back."
She went into the kitchen and he sat down. After a few minutes she came back loaded down with dishes, He got up and took a few off her hands.
"Okay now, sit down and tell me what is going on."
They sat down and she began filling his plate and then hers.
Tony sighed and picked his fork up.
"Mrs. R. I made a horrible mistake!"
"What?"
He shoved a forkful of lasagna in his mouth. He chewed and swallowed and took a long drink of water.
"Tony, what horrible mistake are you talking about?!"
"Kathleen, I never should have gotten involved with her."
Mrs. Rossini scoffed. "You just figured that out?!"
"Wait a minute. I thought you liked her."
"I do. Look, she is a nice person. But anyone can see that the two of you don't belong together."
Tony hung his head. "Yeah, I know."
Mrs. Rossini put her hand under his chin.
"Tony look at me."
He raised his head up.
"We both know who you do belong with." She said gently.
Tony nodded . "Angela."
"Yes, Angela."
"But come on Mrs. R. it will never work out!"
"Why not?"
"Because look at her and look at me!"
"What are you talking about? You are one of the finest people I know!"
"But, she is so elegant and sophisticated. Not to mention the fact that she owns her own business!"
"Okay, so she has her own business! But you are on your way to becoming a teacher. Who knows how far you're going to go? Are you really okay with never being with Angela? Do you want to see her marry Andy?"
"You know about that?"
"Yeah. Sam told me."
Tony took a few more bites and wiped his face off.
"Tony, do you love Angela?"
"Well she is my best friend."
She swatted him on the head. "Don't play games with me Anthony Morton Micelli! Do you love Angela?!"
He grimaced at his full name. But he knew it was coming from a place of love. She also was the only person -beside his Mom- he ever would be okay with calling him that.
"I'm waiting!"
He looked at her.
"Yes, I love Angela."
Mrs. Rossini smiled. "Then tell her Tony! Tell her before it's too late!"
"I know. I have to."
"Well actually you need to break up with Kathleen first."
He nodded. "You're right. I really screwed up, didn't I?"
"Yes, you did. You never should have gotten involved with her. But hey now you can make everything all right."
Tony stood up and picked his plate up.
"Leave it."
"But, I was going to help you clean up."
"Tony, you have more important things to do. Now as much as I love you I want you out of here!"
Tony chuckled and gave her another hug. "I love you too Mrs. R. Thanks for everything."

Tony stood in front of Kathleen's door. He hated doing this. He knew she was going to be hurt and devastated. He did like her and enjoyed the time they spent together. But the truth was he didn't love her. He never had and he never would. He loved Angela. He had been in love with her for years but his insecurities always got the best of him. But he knew if she married Andy his heart would be shattered into a million pieces.
'Just like you shattered Angela's heart when you told her you didn't know if it were over with Kathleen, you stupid idiot!'
He shook his head and took a deep breath.
"Okay, you can't put this off any longer."
He knocked on her door. After a few moments Kathleen pulled it open.
"Tony!"
"Hi Kathleen."
She threw her arms around him
"Oh Tony! You're not going to believe the news I just got!"
