Later, Diego scouted ahead by a glacier wall and then saw the humans nearby.
He then looked back and saw Manfred approaching and saw a cave opening close by.
He then went over to Manfred.
"Hey! Great news." Diego said. "I found a shortcut!"
The baby slid down Manfred's truck as he caught him.
"What do you mean, shortcut?" Manfred asked placing the baby on his head.
"I mean faster than the long way around." Diego said.
"Ow!" Manfred said as the baby climbed on his face. "I know what a shortcut is!"
"Look." Diego said. "Either we slip through there and beat the humans to Glacier Pass, or we take the long way and miss 'em."
"Through there?" Manfred gestured to the cave. "What do you take me for?"
"This time tomorrow, you could be a free Mammoth." Diego said.
Manfred then struggled as he pulled the baby holding on his eyelid.
"Or a nanny." Diego said. "Personally, I never get tired of peekaboo."
"Hey, guys." Sid said holding 2 pieces of an icicle. "Hey, guys. Check this out."
He then placed them on his neck and groans pretending to be impaled.
"Sid, the tiger found a shortcut." Manfred said.
Sid looked and saw the ledge of ice above them.
"No, thanks." Sid denied. "I choose life." He walks off.
"Then I suggest you take the shortcut." Diego said.
"Are you threatening me?" Sid inquired.
"MOVE, SLOTH!" Diego yelled.
His shout echoed as then rumbling was heard as they looked up and saw the ledge of ice cracking as it broke loose and falls.
"Way to go, tiger." Sid said patting Diego's head.
The ice continues falling.
"This isn't good." Sora said.
"Quick! Inside!" Manfred yelled.
They quickly ran into the cave.
"Go, go, go!" Sora yelled.
They quickly made it into the cave as the ice chucks hit the ground, and Sid was the last make it in but skids to a stop. Right above them was a number of sharp icicles shaking.
"Nope." Sora said.
They quickly to the cave entrance but it was completely blocked, but the shaking soon stopped as they turn to the icicles as they became still. They turn back to the blocked entire as only a small gap was above them.
"Okay, I vote shortcut." Manfred said.
"I guess we'll just have to see where this tunnel goes." Sora said.
They begin to head into the tunnel.
An ice chunk blocks the remaining gap.
