"Alright then, Mr. Potter. May I call you Harry? This master/apprentice type of relationship is generally closer than what a regular student-teacher is, but I will ask that you call me Master Filius or Master Flitwick when not in class," Flitwick asked.
"Of course, Master Flitwick," Harry replied.
Harry was now in Flitwick's office for his first day of training after his lessons on Monday. They were sitting in his office, and Harry was wondering where he would do his training. "There is something that I want to say. First off, you will unfortunately only be able to train in my room during our lessons as the only entrance is through my office. This means that you will likely need to find your own room to practice in, but you may be able to ask the house-elves for help. We can do that later.
"Second, I will be training you specifically on speed and accuracy. If someone is so much faster than you that you can't put up a shield, then no matter what I teach you, it will be useless. Your accuracy is just as important. If you can't hit your opponent, you can't defeat them. This will likely be a few weeks of just speed and accuracy before I will change it to just a small test at the beginning of each session to ensure you don't lose your progress. After those first few weeks, I will duel you to see if I need to work on your footwork and agility or if I should focus on your spell repertoire. Both are important, but it is more likely that I will need to split time between them because of how young you are. Since we have four lessons a week, I will split them up into one on footwork and agility or physical abilities, another on spell knowledge and ways to implement them, another on studying past duels to figure out strategies that might work for you, and the last one is when we will duel. But that will be after working on your speed and accuracy. For now, let me show you my training room."
After he said that, Flitwick walked over to his bookshelf and pulled on an inconspicuous book about charms. Harry had previously thought to himself that Flitwick had a simple and boring office, but that was before he saw this. Once Flitwick pulled back on the spine of the book, he saw the bookshelf breaking apart in the middle before swinging upwards on each side. This opened up into a large room that Harry walked into. Looking around, Harry saw what looked to be the magical equivalent of a shooting range with dummies and targets at the end, a dueling platform that looked to be very high quality with numerous dummies resting to the side of the room.
"Woah," Harry exclaimed. "This place is awesome."
"Let me demonstrate some of the features for you." Once Flitwick said that, he went over to the target range and set it on the longest distance, which looked to be about 50 meters by Harry's estimate. Flitwick then started to nail the three separate targets in the middle every time. Soon, a dummy jumped out at around 30 meters, and without skipping a beat, Flitwick hit it in the head with an unknown spell. After another moment, Flitwick stopped before walking over to the dueling platform and setting up five dummies. After a wave of his wand, they all came to life and started attacking Flitwick magically before he fought back. Within a minute, all five were destroyed, and Flitwick was barely breathing hard. After a pause, the dummies fixed themselves and went back to where they were set before standing still. "Hopefully by the end of the year, you will be able to duel with at least five of them and come out on top, and by the end of the school year, at least fifteen if my expectations aren't too high for you," Flitwick said. "For the next two or three weeks, I expect that you are just going to be on the target range during this session. Use the stinging jinx, and I will set it on 10 meters with no one jumping out at you. By the time we stop this, I hope that you can at least do 30 meters and one person jumping out sometimes. I will move it back once you can hit the center one hundred times in a row and then hit ten times in a row in under five seconds. Once you have learned silent casting, you should be able to do ten in under three seconds quite easily for the stinging hex. Some more powerful curses take more time, so ten in under four seconds is quite impressive for the more powerful curses. Anyway, get started."
It took Harry nearly half an hour to get one hundred bullseyes in a row before Flitwick came over to congratulate him. "Well done, Harry. I must admit that I expected it to take you a little bit longer to finish. How are you feeling?"
"Slightly out of breath, to be honest."
"That is to be expected. If it was any other first year, they would have been struggling to stay standing by now. I would expect that most would struggle to get past 150 in less than half an hour, to be honest. Just the rate of fire with no time to recover would mean that they couldn't keep casting. But with you, there should be no issues. I think it would be an interesting project to see if there is a quantifiable method to measure the magical strength that someone has, but unfortunately, no one has been able to do it.
"Anyway, as far as I can tell from your classes with me and the reports of other teachers, you are doing very well on the practical side of things. So with that in mind, I thought that maybe I would be able to help get you ahead in all of your subjects in this time, just so that when it comes time for me to teach you spells to use in dueling, you will have some that if you use creatively, you will be able to fight back with a larger repertoire of spells."
"So essentially, you will just be teaching me faster than the rest of my peers with enough knowledge on the theory for me to perform the spell with you, but then I will be researching the rest of the theory in my own time," Harry stated. "That would be great, professor."
"I think that you would really benefit from the private tutelage so that we can go at your own speed, no matter how fast or slow it may be. But be warned that this method would require you to do lots of reading ahead so that you can continue to learn new spells quickly. But just for now, I will change our session schedule a little bit to allow for one hour to learn new spells at the end of the lesson, which might mean a little bit slower progress in the rest of what you might have expected, but it will put you in a good position once we start dueling.
"To start with, let's go over some spells that you should have learned in DADA if you had a competent professor. In your first year, you should learn some basic spells like the petrifying hex, flame charm, knockback jinx, disarming charm, cutting charm, and the stunning charm. There are more first-year spells that can be used in a duel, but it generally requires self-study, which is something I expect from you. I will get through those spells this lesson, and then next lesson, we will focus on transfiguration. Please read through as many books on this year's spells as you can ahead of time, but I understand that if you try to read all of them too fast, you will probably be unable to keep up with school work, so just do as much as you can."
"I promise you, Master Flitwick, I will have finished the first-year syllabus at least practically by the end of the first term. With your help, we will be able to move on to at least third year by the time this year has ended," Harry stated determinedly.
For a moment, Flitwick just stared at Harry before looking him in the eye and seeing the determination. "I believe you. We will make you into one of the best duelists the world has ever seen. By the end of the year, you will be ready for your first dueling tournament. I will sponsor you to join the under-13 age bracket, which you should be able to compete in. But now enough of this chit-chatting; get back to work," Flitwick said with a small smile.
"Yes, Master Flitwick," Harry stated before going to the target practice and hitting another ten bullseyes in 13 seconds.
"Come on, Harry, you can do better than that," Flitwick encouraged.
Line Break
After a few more weeks of school, Harry was walking to Transfiguration while talking with Hermione, Daphne, and Tracey. "So, are you guys excited for flying lessons this afternoon?" Harry asked.
He received a resounding "no" from the girls, who were all not very excited.
"What do you mean? It will be fine." Harry looked at each of the girls before settling on Hermione, who was arguably the most nervous, and saying, "I promise all of you that I will be there to catch you if you hurt yourself or if it looks like you will fall."
Hermione looked a little bit more confident and understood so far that Harry had never broken a promise he made to her, so she knew he would do his best to make sure that she was safe. But even then, she knew that he wasn't infallible, so she would need to be careful. "Alright then, but we should probably head to Transfiguration as we don't want McGonagall to be mad at us for being late."
As McGonagall called them inside, the group decided to sit at the front of the classroom this lesson. "Alright, everyone. Last lesson, I gave you the theory and some extra references for your first transfiguration spell. This one is the simplest to complete and therefore the reason that it is the first one that is taught. What you will be doing is transfiguring a matchstick into a needle." While most had been looking more excited, they were decidedly less excited once they knew what they were working on. McGonagall looked around and said, "I know that you were hoping to do more exciting things, but it is something that you need to work up to, and this is just one of the smallest steps that you can take to get started." With a wave of her wand, she sent out a matchstick to each student and said, "You all know the incantation, so get started."
While every other started casting immediately, with none of them getting any change in their matchstick, Harry just sat there staring intently at his matchstick. He picked it up and looked it over. Having read ahead in most of his subjects so that if Flitwick ever tried to surprise him with a different subject, he wouldn't be completely unprepared. He knew that the key to transfiguration was visualization. He first had a complete picture of the matchstick in his mind before making sure that he could imagine a proper needle. Once he had both pictures in his mind, he put down the matchstick, closed his eyes, and with his wand, said the spell. Hermione, Tracey, and Daphne were all looking at him once they realized that he wasn't trying to cast the spell yet and all looked with eyes wide open in astonishment that he had gotten the spell on the first try. First, the matchstick changed color, then it became sharper with a hole in the middle of one end, and finally, the material changed from wood to silver.
When he opened his eyes, he saw that the three girls he was sitting with were staring at him with wide eyes before he looked and saw that his matchstick was now a needle. With a start, he saw Professor McGonagall standing in front of him, and she said, "Mr. Potter, may I see that please?" After a quick inspection, she saw that it was, in fact, a perfect needle that was made of silver. "Well done, Mr. Potter, five points to Ravenclaw. I have never seen a student do this transfiguration on the first go before. Do you think you could do it again?" she asked while placing another matchstick on his desk.
This time, with a shorter pause for visualization, Harry imagined the matchstick turning into a needle before saying the incantation. Before the whole class's eyes, the matchstick rippled and turned into a needle. This time, it happened all at once, the material, the shape, the color, all within half a second. Looking up with wide eyes, McGonagall said, "That was very impressive, Mr. Potter. Will you please stay and talk with me after class? I assure you that it won't cut into your flying lesson this afternoon."
"Of course, professor," Harry replied.
"Would you care to explain what you might have done differently that made sure that you would be able to achieve the transfiguration?" McGonagall asked.
"Well, first of all, I made sure that I had a good idea of what I wanted the final product to become. Most of the transfiguration, according to what I've read, is that one of the most important factors is the visualization of the end result. So I imagined the matchstick in my mind, then I thought of the differences between the needle and matchstick. First, I thought of the color change as it is most obvious, then the shape, and then I changed the material in my mind. Once I had finished visualizing that, I cast the spell, and it worked. I reckon that with visualization, it would be possible to enhance it, like change the color again or add an engraving, but to do so would require excellent visualization." Harry started thinking out loud before blushing when he realized that everyone was staring at him.
"Well thought out, Mr. Potter. Perhaps you would like to try and add that while the rest of the students get started again," McGonagall said with a pointed look at the rest of the class, who quickly got started again.
With a matchstick in front of him once again, Harry closed his eyes and imagined a needle with tiny indented vines on it which were colored green. He thought of how the needle would feel with the little crevices, how it would look with the green contrasting the silver, and how he would detail each vine curling around and meeting near the eye. McGonagall looked at him concentrating and saw the girls on either side of him looking too but decided against telling them to start on their own work as she knew this could be beneficial for them to see up close. Slowly, even more slowly than the first attempt, as if there was a wave from one end to another, it transformed. With a slight gasp once it was completed, McGonagall picked up the needle and inspected it.
"Remarkable, Mr. Potter. In all my years of teaching, I have never had such a talented student in my class. Ten more points to Ravenclaw. You can spend the rest of the lesson helping others if you would like. Just remember to stay back after class," McGonagall said.
As soon as McGonagall walked away to help other students, Hermione turned to Harry and asked, "How did you do that? Nowhere in any book did it ever say that something like this was possible."
As Harry turned to his left to respond to Hermione, Daphne picked up the needle and inspected it with Tracey as she muttered under her breath, "Incredible."
"Well, Hermione, the first thing that you need to know is that books are not infallible and that it is possible to do things that are not written in books, as otherwise how were the first books made without the information already available?" Harry said while looking at Hermione with a pointed glance. "But the second thing is that most of magic is intent, that is how silent casting works as it was explained to me by Professor Flitwick. That is in nearly all spells from charms to transfiguration. But there are a few exceptions with really powerful spells that require incantations, one being the Patronus Charm. So essentially, the incantation that I used was unnecessary as it was just a stepping stone for my magic to know that I wanted the matchstick on my desk to change into what I was visualizing."
"So what you're saying is that if you visualize something and then will your magic to do it, then there will be very little that it can't do, with only a few exceptions," Hermione stated.
"There are a few other factors, but that is the simplest explanation that I can give you, which is especially necessary in transfiguration," Harry said.
Over the course of the lesson, Harry helped Daphne, Hermione, and Tracey to perform the spell, with a slightly larger number of students getting a partial change than usual thanks to Harry's explanation of how he did the spell in the first place. At the end, when McGonagall was dismissing the students, she said, "Homework is only for those who didn't complete the full transfiguration, and it is ten inches of parchment on the matchstick to needle transfiguration. Mr. Potter, please stay behind."
"So, professor, was there something that I can help you with?" Harry asked.
"I have heard from Professor Flitwick that you were having dueling lessons with him, and he would be teaching you all of the practical spells that you would learn in the younger years so that you had a large spell repertoire," McGonagall said. After Harry nodded, she continued, "So I was wondering what you would like to do in my classes, as you obviously know the practicals very well, and from that explanation alone I know that you understand the theory. So to stop you from becoming bored in my class, I have a few options that I think you might like. First is that I will give you separate instructions to the rest of the class and will move through much faster with a larger reliance on self-study for the theory where you just do the practical in class, although you could, of course, come to me with any questions that you might have. The second option that I have for you is that you would become my teaching assistant in this class, which means you would help those who are struggling while I teach the rest of the class. This is because, as you know, teaching is the highest form of understanding. The final opportunity is that I will set you assignments and you will not bother going to class. Each week, I will give you a small test on the theory and practical to ensure that you have not been slacking off, but this will allow you to move faster and have more free time. Which option would you prefer?"
Harry thought through what he could choose. First is that he will get to spend more time with Daphne and Tracey, as this is the only class that he shared with them, but it might be a bit boring to just sit here once he had done the practical if he already studied the theory. Second would be nice, but it would also mean that there was no new learning in transfiguration as he would be learning it ahead of time from Flitwick. Third was what he was leaning to, but he really wanted to be able to hang out with Daphne and Tracey more, even if it was just in class. Now that he thought about it, he wished that he could hang out with all of his friends who weren't in his house in more than just classes.
After weighing the options, Harry had decided and said to McGonagall, "I would like to choose the third option. But I do also have something that I want to ask of you."
"Well, I think that the third option would be best for you, Mr. Potter, but what would you like to ask of me?" McGonagall asked skeptically.
"I was thinking about it and realized that I only saw my friends who weren't in my house around meals and classes, and with me not coming to this class, that means that I won't get to see Daphne and Tracey in classes anymore. So I was wondering if there was any room in the castle that we could use to meet up and practice spells so that we can get ahead in class?" Harry asked nervously.
"That is an excellent idea, Mr. Potter. It is very rare to see such inter-house unity these days, and I will happily support this idea. There are numerous rooms in the castle that are unused. I am sure that I can find you a large enough room for some spell casting, and you can make some changes to the furniture once you have learnt enough with your self-study," she said with a small smile. "I will get it cleaned up and put in a clock that I will charm to go off half an hour before all meals and curfew just so that you don't stay there too long. There had better not be any untoward activities in this room, or I will take it away from you and your friends," McGonagall continued with a sharp look. "I would also recommend that you not do any dueling until you have learnt enough to set up wards that will protect the room and any spectators that you may have."
"Thank you, professor. When do you think you will have this room ready by?" Harry asked. "I just want to let my friends know when we should meet so we can all see it together."
"I will have it ready by Saturday this week. Meet me here after breakfast and I will show you all where it is. Come to my next lesson, and we will discuss what you will need to self-study for the week, and we can see how it goes," McGonagall said with a small smile at his childish excitement. "Now go and get some lunch before your flying lesson. If you are anything like your father, then I expect that you will be an incredible flier."
"Thanks, professor. Do you think that you could tell me a bit more about my parents sometime?" Harry asked.
"Of course, Mr. Potter, and I'm sure that Filius would be happy to help as well. Now shoo, Mr. Potter, I have some marking to do," she said with a small smile.
As Harry walked out of the door, McGonagall thought to herself about James and Lily and how Harry just might be the best of both of them. It was always nice to see just a little bit of childlike innocence and happiness in normally responsible and mature students. It was just a little reminder that he was still only eleven years old, but he was still very mature, and she hoped that he would take advantage of the opportunity that she and Filius were giving him.
Line Break
Here is the revised prompt with corrected grammar and punctuation:
After lunch, all the first-year students went out into the courtyard, where they saw a bunch of brooms lined up with their teacher at the end.
"Well, hurry up, everyone. Stand beside a broom," the woman yelled. "My name is Professor Hooch. I am the flying instructor at Hogwarts and referee the Quidditch matches that are played. To start with, everyone hold a hand over the broom and say 'Up,' while being ready to catch the broom."
Harry was the first student to say, "Up." The broom slapped into his hand, and he grabbed it comfortably before the rest of the students said it. All his friends who were in the study group were standing around him. He looked around and could see they were all feeling nervous, and it showed—they weren't very confident, and they couldn't get their brooms to come up. Harry said to them, "Be confident. You must be assertive because if you aren't, then the broom won't listen to you. These brooms won't go very fast, and you are all in a safe environment where the worst that will happen is a broken bone that will be fixed up with a wave of the nurse's wand. There is nothing to be afraid of, so be assertive and say 'Up.'" Harry looked around at his friends, and Tracey was the first to try it when it worked. Then the rest of his friends followed. Of their group of friends, Hermione, Daphne, Susan, Padma, Parvati, and Neville were all extremely nervous, but with Harry standing beside them, they were feeling a little bit more confident.
"Alright, everyone, now kick off, then come back down on the count of three."
"Remember to be calm, and everything will be alright, guys," Harry whispered to all his friends, who stood a little bit taller knowing that Harry would be there with them.
"1… 2… 3."
On three, all the students kicked off slowly before descending to the ground. They repeated this exercise before being split off into smaller groups. Hooch came around to each group before leading them around and assessing if they would be alright to fly on their own for a while. When it was time for Harry's group of friends to fly, they followed Hooch around on a leisurely flight around the courtyard.
After a while, Hooch landed and handed Harry a tennis ball. "Please stay in or around the courtyard where I can see you, but I think all of you and your friends are competent enough to play catch. Try not to go too high, though." As they were all playing catch with varying levels of success, with Harry being able to throw, catch, and fly the best, all of a sudden, Susan let out a scream. Harry looked over at her and realized that she was flying uncontrollably up and towards one of the towers.
Harry immediately shot into action. He flew after Susan, making some incredible dodges between other students, even doing a barrel roll to fly under another student. He was closing in on Susan but saw that she was going to hit the tower very soon, so he made a quick decision and flicked one of his wands out of its holster in his left hand. While flying with his right, he called out clearly, "Wingardium Leviosa." Susan immediately started floating and left her broom behind. Within seconds, it had crashed into the tower, and Susan was left hanging for a second until Harry came up beneath her and gently lowered her onto the broom in front of him. Harry wrapped his arms around her to hold her onto the broom before flying them both to the ground while quietly whispering reassurance into her ear.
Immediately after they got off the broom, Harry wrapped her in a hug as she started bawling into his shoulder. Once Hooch landed, she said to everyone, "Alright, class is over now. I'm going to take Ms. Bones to the hospital wing for shock, but she should be fine." Then, looking at Susan, who was holding desperately onto Harry, she said, "Perhaps you would be able to carry Ms. Bones to the hospital wing, Mr. Potter. It doesn't look like she is in the proper condition to be walking, I'm afraid."
"Of course," Harry said to Madam Hooch, then turned to his friends and said, "I'll see you guys at dinner, but I'll stay with Susan until she is alright." He then picked Susan up bridal style and carried her to the hospital wing.
It took a while to get to the hospital wing, but once there, Susan had managed to stop crying but was still clinging to Harry. The school nurse came bustling over and said, "Oh dear, what happened?"
"Ms. Bones had a bit of a fright in flying lessons, Poppy," Hooch said. "And Mr. Potter did some of the best flying that I have seen in a long time to catch her."
"Perhaps you should call both of their heads of house to inform them what happened," she said before turning to Harry and Susan. "My name is Madam Pomfrey. Do you think that you can let go so that I can give you a potion easier?"
As Harry was massaging her back, Susan was slowly calming down, so he set her on a bed and sat down next to her so that he had an arm around her and she was leaning into him. When Susan drank the potion, her nose scrunched up, her eyes squinted, and she said, "Yucky. That tasted horrible."
"But I think you'll find that you are no longer in shock, Ms. Bones. You might be a little bit timid on a broom, but after what I heard about Mr. Potter's performance on a broom, if you have some private lessons with him, then I'm sure that you will be fine. You should be free to go now, but if you have any more issues, then feel free to come to me," Madam Pomfrey said.
"Do you want to go down to the Great Hall now, Susan? I'm pretty sure that's where most of our friends would be," Harry asked.
"Yes, Harry, that would be nice," Susan said before standing up to walk out the door. As soon as they were alone in the hallway, Susan turned to Harry and practically jumped on him, wrapping her arms around him. "Thank you so much, Harry. I don't know what would have happened to me if you hadn't saved me."
"I promised, didn't I?" Harry said while wrapping his arms around the girl. "Are you sure that you are feeling alright, Susan? We can just wait here for a while if you want."
"Yes, I'm feeling fine, Harry. Let's go because I'm starting to get hungry anyway," Susan said before turning to walk to the hall while linking their arms.
Once they reached the Great Hall, they saw that all their friends were sitting at the Hufflepuff table around Hannah, who was looking really sad. Once Hannah looked up and saw them, she ran and hugged Susan tightly and nearly knocked her over. Harry steadied them both once he saw it looked like they would fall before being slammed into by Hermione, Daphne, Tracey, Padma, and Parvati. Harry was struggling to stand up when the girls all started rambling while grabbing him until Harry managed to untangle himself, with only Hermione not letting go. Hermione started slamming her fist into his chest while saying to Harry, "You idiot, that was stupid, reckless, and not something that you should have done. You could have been hurt."
"Hermione, I promised that I wouldn't let anything happen to you girls, and that's what I was doing—keeping my promise. I would have done it for any one of you guys, even Neville," Harry joked with a small smile. "But anyway, I'm fine, can't you see?" Harry said as he wrapped his arms around her tightly. "Besides, if I wasn't fine, would I have been able to stay standing when all of you girls slammed into me?" Harry said with a smile.
At that, most of the girls blushed a little bit before mumbling an apology. "But we were really worried for you," Parvati said. "You were really brave, and I don't think that I would have been able to do it."
"Also, we haven't learned that spell yet, Harry. How did you manage to do it?" Hermione asked once all of them had sat down.
"I have been taught by Professor Flitwick, Hermione. It was one of the spells that we have gone over recently, and it was the first one that came to mind," Harry said. "Anyway, enough about this depressing stuff, I have some exciting news that I wanted to share with you. I asked Professor McGonagall about getting ourselves a room to study in so that we can hang out together when we aren't in class. She said that on Saturday we would get to see it after breakfast, so we need to meet at her office immediately after."
"That's a great idea, Harry, and we can probably customize it once we have learned enough in Transfiguration, but I'm sure that you will end up doing most of it," Hannah said with a small chuckle.
"That will likely be the case," a voice said from behind, "but I'm afraid before you can work on your plans for the room, I need to talk to Mr. Potter."
As Harry turned around and saw Flitwick, he said, "Of course, professor. Should we go to your office or the training room?"
"My office will be fine; this isn't about your dueling, which you are still doing marvelously in, by the way."
As the two walked to Flitwick's office, they continued to chat about their dueling lessons and what Harry would be learning more about. Then, once they sat down at the desk, Flitwick said, "I have heard what you did in your flying lesson today, and I saw a memory from Madam Hooch. It has to be some of the most incredible flying that I have ever seen, and all the heads of houses had a meeting with Headmaster Dumbledore about it. We would like to offer you the opportunity to try out for the Quidditch team, along with an exception to the no brooms for first-years policy. I would personally love to see you doing this, and I'll make sure that it doesn't interrupt our dueling sessions."
"I would love to, professor. Just let me know when the tryouts are and when I can get a broom. It was one of the most exhilarating things that I have ever done," Harry replied excitedly. "But I would also like to make sure that I am getting onto the team properly, which means tryouts, because I don't want to be accused of getting special treatment for who I am."
"Of course, Mr. Potter. If you will write a letter to your family to organize a broom, then I will let you know when the date of the tryouts has been decided," Flitwick said. "But for now, I think you should tell your friends the good news."
"Great idea," Harry said before running back to the Great Hall.
"Guys, I got the chance to go and try out for the Quidditch team," Harry said excitedly.
After the congratulations from all his friends, Harry said, "I've got to go and write a letter to Aunt Petunia."
Dear Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon and Big D
So far schooling has been amazing, I'm the top of every practical class and nearly the top in every other one. I have made so many amazing friends with my closest ones being Hermione, Neville, Padma, Parvati, Tracey, Daphne, Susan and Hannah. In my most recent class, which was flying and was awesome, something happened which meant that I had to stop Susan from falling. In doing so I demonstrated some excellent flying skills and have been allowed an exception from the no brooms as a first year rule. I have also been given permission to try and get onto the quidditch team which is awesome. I will need a broom and was wondering if you would be able to get one and send it to me. I want to try and play either seeker or chaser depending on which position is free so I will need a fast broom that will be able to turn quickly. If the broom that you think is best will be too expensive for you to use I would be willing to use money that I have in my trust vault on this.
Aside from the flying class I have still been keeping on track with all of the martial arts and meditation that you made us do Aunt Petunia. It has actually been really helpful with casting the spells and I was given the offer to learn how to duel from Professor Flitwick, who teaches charms. He was one of the best in the world for multiple years and the footwork drills from our martial arts really helped.
I have also gotten so far ahead in some subjects that Professor Mcgonagall, who teaches transfiguration, has let me do self study to move at my own pace, if I do it fast enough then there is a chance of me getting a mastery before leaving school. This could happen in multiple subjects which would be so good.
Overall I have been having a great time meeting new people and learning magic. I miss you all and will see you over the Easter holidays.
From Harry.
Authors Note
Well another big chapter with over 6000 words. Next chapter I will probably spend more on the group as a whole in the new room that they will be taking over. It might get to Halloween but I'm not sure if I want to go that far yet as I want to focus more on Harry's relationships. I was also thinking of making this into a multi where Harry gets numerous girls. It will probably end up being seven girls and feel free to guess, I feel like most of them are obvious so it shouldn't be too hard. Once again I will try and keep updating consistently, please leave a review with any feedback or ideas you want to see.
