Episode 299: Sora's Ancient Misadventures
On the next morning after fighting Zell and Fue, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, and Marill had their breakfast and then prepared for their journey. Sora exchanged Probopass and Whiscash for Nuzleaf and Lombre, so he figured it was time for Nuzleaf, Lombre, and his Kirlia had evolved. Kairi thought the same thing with her Roselia. Sora has taken out a Leaf Stone, a Water Stone, and a Dawn Stone as Kairi has taken out a Shiny Stone.
Sensing an imminent evolution, Kairi's Kirlia has let herself out of her own Pokéball as Sora laid the three stones before them.
"Kirlia?" Kairi asked.
"Okay, guys, are you ready to evolve?" Sora asked. Nuzleaf, Lombre, and Sora's Kirlia nodded all at once. "Okay, here goes." They all touched the stones and began to evolve all at once. Kairi's Kirlia started to evolve along with them, wanting to evolve with Sora's Kirlia. Sora's Kirlia has become a Gallade as Kairi's Kirlia has become a Gardevoir. "Wow, you guys look amazing!"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Ludicolo! Ludicolo, Ludicolo, Ludicolo, Ludicolo!" The newly evolved Ludicolo said as he started dancing. Sora chuckled as he ends up being caught in the rhythm as Ludicolo grabbed him.
"I guess I forgot how Ludicolo loves to dance, do they, Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said as Gallade and Shiftry chuckled. Gallade turned to see the newly evolved Gardevoir. He was awestruck by her beauty and approached her.
"Wow, you're very beautiful." - Gallade subtitle.
"And you're very handsome, my love." - Gardevoir subtitle. Gallade and Gardevoir embraced each other and held each other. Sora sees Gardevoir and knew her Kirlia had evolved at the same time as Sora's Gallade.
"Looks like we both ended up with an evolution," Sora said.
"We have, but I'm not done yet," Kairi said, letting out her Roselia.
"Roselia," Roselia sang when Kairi had let her out. Kairi took out a Shiny Stone and held it front of him.
"Roselia, are you ready to evolve into a Roserade?" Kairi asked.
"Roselia?" Roselia asked.
"Not only you'll be stronger, but you'll be beautiful. So, how about it?" Kairi asked. Roselia nodded. Roselia took the Shiny Stone and began to evolve. Roselia has become a Roserade right before her. "You look amazing, Roserade."
"Roserade, Rose, Roserade," the newly evolved Roserade said.
After evolving their Pokémon, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, and Marill continued on their way towards Mossdeep City and in order to reach it, they're going to need a boat.
"How soon until we reach Mossdeep City from here?" Sora asked.
"We should be able to catch it on time as long nothing happens," Max said.
"That's good to hear!" Sora said. He stepped on something and the ground opened up beneath Sora and Pikachu, making them fall in. He and Pikachu screamed as he fell down.
"Sora!" Kairi cried.
"Sora, no!" Riku and Naminé called out.
Sora and Pikachu kept screaming as they fell. They landed on a pile of old rags which were miraculously placed. Dust erupts from the rags and he coughed as he brushed the dust off of him. Pikachu shook the dust off like a soaked dog.
"Man, that's definitely 3 for style on that landing," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed. Sora and Pikachu looked around their current surroundings and they didn't see anything familiar.
"Where the heck are we?" Sora asked.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu shrugged. Sora looked up in the hole they fell from.
"Unless we can fly, we can't get out from there," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Maybe we'll find an exit if we look around. Kairi and the others might be already looking for a way in here by now," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"Well, no point in standing around. We'll have to find one ourselves," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu agreed and climbed up Sora's shoulders. He took out a flashlight just so they can see where they were going.
Back above the group, they were all worried for Sora's safety.
"Sora, if you can hear, answer!" Ash called out.
"I don't think he heard you. It's way too deep down there," Brendan said.
"He's right. We could jump down there and get him out," Ethan said.
"Yeah, and then how would we get out when we do get to him?" Max scoffed.
"Max is right, guys. We don't know how deep it goes and even if we do jump in, we'll end up being trapped, too," Riku said.
"So what do you suggest we do then?" May asked.
"Well, wherever Sora is, I can be sure that there should be another way in, so we just have to find it. And knowing Sora, he's probably already looking for a way out by now anyway," Riku said.
"So we gotta find a way in," Kris said.
"Then, what are we waiting for? Let's find it!" Kairi said.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
Back to Sora and Pikachu, they looked around and they saw all sorts of Baltoy and Claydol around.
"This place is full of Baltoy and Claydol, so we're in an ancient ruin," Sora said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Okay, now to find that exit before-" Sora paused as the batteries in his flashlight died. "- my light goes out. Well, that's just dandy, isn't it, Pikachu?"
"Pikachu," Pikachu said, sharing Sora's sarcasm.
"There's gotta be something we can use as a light," Sora said as he placed his hand on the wall, looking for something. Sora felt what felt like a torch, so Sora summoned his Kingdom Key and casts a fire spell on the torch, lighting his way. "There. Problem solved."
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"It should do until we find our way out," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu agreed as they continued to look around. As they searched, Sora made a stop when he heard loud footsteps behind them.
"You hear that?" Sora asked.
"Pi," Pikachu said.
"I hope it's not a Heartless in here," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
Sora and Pikachu looked around as Sora held the torch and then they saw something slowly walking towards them. Curious about what it was, Sora and Pikachu watched the mysterious figure walk closer to them. They could tell by how loud each footstep was than the last one, they knew it was getting closer and closer. They waited until they got a good enough look at the mysterious figure in front of them. It was a large Pokémon.
It is a large golem-like Pokémon made of brown and orange rocks. It has a pattern of seven orange dots on its face that resembles a capital letter "H". It has long arms with jutting shoulders and club-like hands without fingers. There is a line of orange rocky spines running down its back, and its legs are short in comparison to its body.
"Is that thing a Pokémon?" Sora asked. He took out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Regirock, the Rock Peak Pokémon
Type: Rock
Regirock's body is entirely made up of rocks and boulders. If this Pokémon's body is damaged in battle, it is said to seek out suitable rocks on its own to repair itself.
"Well, that answers that," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
Regirock forms a yellow ball of energy in front of its head.
"What's it doing?" Sora asked. It then fires a yellow beam of energy from the ball at Sora and Pikachu. Sora and Pikachu managed to avoid Regirock's beam attack. "Ugh, that was Meteor Beam. It looks like we're gonna have to battle against it."
"Pika," Pikachu agreed. Sora took out Grovyle, Marshtomp, Shiftry, Ludicolo, Lairon, Vibrava, Metang, and Gallade's Pokéballs to battle against Regirock. He knew Regirock won't be beaten easily even with type advantages, but he wasn't going to let that stop him.
"Come on out, you guys!" Sora shouted. Grovyle, Marshtomp, Shiftry, Ludicolo, Lairon, Vibrava, Metang, and Gallade all emerged from inside, ready to battle Regirock. "Okay, guys, Regirock is going to be our opponent, so let's give it everything we got." The Pokémon all nodded. "Okay, Grovyle, Shiftry! Use Leaf Blade! Marshtomp, Ludicolo! Hydro Pump!" Grovyle and Shiftry rushed at Regirock and swiped at the Rock Peak Pokémon as Marshtomp and Ludicolo fired a double Hydro Pump, hitting Regirock. "Gallade! Use Vacuum Wave! Lairon, Metang! Metal Claw! Vibrava! Use Earth Power!" Gallade jumps into the air and his forearms glow white. Then, he spins around with his head and his arms extended facing the opponent and he fires a horizontal tornado from his body at Regirock, landing a hit. Lairon and Metang came at Regirock and slashed at Regirock as Vibrava shook the ground. Regirock has taken some damage from the combo attack of the Pokémon, but it's still standing. "Regirock is hardly even scratched." Regirock unleashed an Ancient Power right at the Pokémon, dealing some damage on them. Sora saw how powerful the attack was. "Man, Regirock is strong." Regirock then unleashed a Stone Edge right at the Pokémon. "Gallade, Metang! Use Psychic to block!" Gallade and Metang use their Psychic to block the rocks coming their way and sent them back at Regirock, landing a hit. "Pikachu! Use Thunderbolt!" Pikachu unleashed a Thunderbolt, shocking Regirock. The Rock Peak Pokémon ends up being paralyzed from Pikachu's Thunderbolt, so it began charging up to fire a Meteor Beam. "Get ready, guys! Regirock's getting ready to fire another Meteor Beam!" Regirock prepared to fire, but couldn't due to its paralysis. "Regirock's paralyzed. But it doesn't mean Regirock will give it up. The only way to end this is to catch it." Sora took out an Ultra Ball and prepared to throw it. "Pikachu! One more Thunderbolt!" Pikachu fired another Thunderbolt, shocking Regirock. Regirock was slowly walking towards them as Sora threw his Ultra Ball, making it flow inside. The Ultra Ball wobbles around and around very violently. Sora knew it might not stay in for long. Stars swirls around the Ultra Ball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Regirock with him, but he chose to send Regirock over to Professor Oak's lab. "That was close. You guys did great." The Pokémon beamed from the compliment they got from their Trainer. "Better heal you guys up." Sora summoned his Kingdom Key and casts his cure spell on them, healing the Pokémon of their injuries. "Okay, let's go in case of trouble."
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
With that said, Sora and his Pokémon took their leave of the area and proceeded to look for an exit.
Back outside, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, and Marill searches for a way to find Sora and Pikachu.
"Any luck?" Naminé asked.
The rest of the group stated that none of them had any luck in finding Sora.
"Oh, Sora, please give us some sign that you're alright," Kairi worryingly said.
Back inside, Sora and his Pokémon were making their way through the ruins when they suddenly felt cold.
"Is it me or it suddenly gotten cold in here?" Sora asked. He saw his Pokémon shivering. "That confirms it. Better get you guys back inside just so you can be warm inside." He called his Pokémon inside, one by one, leaving only Pikachu out. "Better keep going until we're out of the cold. A beam of ice suddenly shot at Sora's feet. "Where did that come from?!"
"Pika!" Pikachu exclaimed, pointing ahead. Sora saw it was another new Pokémon in front of them.
It is a large, blue Pokémon composed of solid Antarctic ice. Its body is comprised of angular crystal-like shapes and its face has an unusual pattern consisting of seven yellow dots in a "plus" formation. It has four spikes on its back and its two legs are conical and it balances its entire body on their points. There are three fingers on each of its pentagonal arms.
"Another one. And this would be?" Sora asked, taking out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Regice, the Iceberg Pokémon
Type: Ice
Regice's body is made entirely of ice from the ice age. It controls frigid air of -328 degrees Fahrenheit.
"Well, that explains why it's so chilly in here," Sora said. He took out Combusken's Pokéball. "Well, since Regice is an Ice-type, then I'll have to heat things up. "Combusken! Go!" His Pokéball opened and Combusken emerged from inside, ready to battle. "Use Flame Charge!" Combusken charges right at Regice with a Flame Charge, landing a hit, but Regice fought back with a Frost Breath, dealing a critical hit. Regice then came at Combusken with an Ice Punch, landing a hit. "Combusken!" Regice fired an Ice Beam. "Dodge it! Hurry!" Combusken ran to avoid Regice's Ice Beam. Sora knew Combusken wouldn't hold Regice on his own, and the others were tired from the battle against Regirock, so he took out his Pokémon Box and exchanged Shiftry, Ludicolo, and Gallade for Hariyama, Camerupt, and Medicham. "Camerupt, Hariyama, Medicham! Go!" He threw his Pokéballs and they all opened, letting Hariyama, Camerupt, and Medicham. "Hariyama! Use Arm Thrust! Camerupt! Use Eruption! Medicham! High Jump Kick!" Medicham jumped in the air and dashed right at Regice. Hariyama thrusts his large hands and lands a hit on it. A geyser of fire spews from both of the volcanoes on Camerupt's back, causing flaming rocks fly and lands a hit on the Iceberg Pokémon. Regice attacks with an Ice Beam. Sora, and his Pokémon tried to avoid the ice attack, but they were struck hard. Regice prepared to fire another Ice Beam.
"Combusken! Sky Uppercut!" Combusken rushes at Regice as it fired Ice Beam. Combusken lands a hit onto Regice, landing a hit. "Use Fire Punch!" Combusken prepares to land a Fire Punch on Regice, but the Iceberg Pokémon lands an Ice Punch, colliding against each other. Both Combusken and Regice took some damage. Sora figured Regice was weakened enough, so he took out another Ultra Ball and threw it at Regice, making it flow inside. The Ultra Ball wobbles around and around very violently. Sora crossed his fingers until stars swirls around the Ultra Ball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Regice with him. He chose to send Regice over to Professor Oak's lab. "That takes care of that. Time to heal you guys up." Sora summoned his Kingdom Key and healed Combusken, Camerupt, Hariyama, Medicham of their injuries. Sora called them back and he exchanged Hariyama, Medicham, and Camerupt for Gallade, Breloom, and Probopass.
Back outside, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, and Marill kept on looking and looking for a clue. They kept looking until Max found what was covered in dried vines.
"Guys! Look at this!" Max called out. The rest of the group went up to Max and they saw dried vines.
"What could it be?" Lisia asked.
"I don't know, I think it looks important," Max said. Riku summoned his Braveheart and he cuts the vines and they saw it was an entrance to an ancient ruin.
"You were right, Max. It does look important," Riku said.
"You think Sora fell in there?" Kris asked.
"Seems likely, and he's probably looking for it," Riku said.
"Well, we should go inside and look for him," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel seconded it.
"Yeah, but we're going to need something to help find a way out just so we don't get lost inside," Lyra suggested.
"Marill," Marill said.
"I just got this rope," Ash said, taking out some rope.
"Okay, let's go. And stay together, because we don't wanna get lost," Riku said.
"Right," the rest of the group agreed as Ash let out the rope and leaves the rope behind them just so they could easily get out.
Meanwhile, Sora and Pikachu kept going and they were out of the range of the cold.
"At least things are warmer from here," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
They suddenly heard a strange sound.
"What's that?" Sora asked. They got their answer when they saw what looks like a new Pokémon.
It is a large robotic Pokémon. Most of its body is spherical and gray while the middle of its face has the appearance of being exposed as it shows black "skin" and is surrounded by raised metal. Its lower half is disc-like in shape and has two cylindrical legs without toes. Its face consists of seven red dots in a hexagonal formation, and it has black arms with three fingers each that are connected to its upper half by gray hemispherical shoulders.
Sora took out his Rotom Phone and scanned it.
Registeel, the Iron Pokémon
Type: Steel
Registeel has a body that is harder than any kind of metal. It hardened due to pressure underground over tens of thousands of years, and as a result, it cannot be scratched.
"Okay, first, Regirock, and then Regice, and now Registeel. And it looks like the same deal as the other two," Sora said. Sora took out his Pokéballs and threw them. "Combusken, Gallade! Let's go!" His Pokéballs opened and they both came out, ready to go. Registeel came at them with its fingers giving off a metallic glow. "Registeel's using Metal Claw! Dodge it!" Combusken and Gallade dodged Registeel's Metal Claw. Registeel then fired a Flash Cannon, making them scatter again.
Over to the group, they felt the whole temple shake.
"What is that?" Ethan asked.
"It's probably Sora," Naminé said.
"You think it's a Pokémon battle going on?" Lisia asked.
"Or it could be a horde of Heartless attacking," May guessed.
"Either way, we gotta look into it," Kairi said.
"She's right. Let's go," Ash said.
With that said, they went in the direction of where the sound came from.
Back to the battle already in progress, Registeel fired another Flash Cannon, hitting Combusken and Gallade on the mark. They get back up on their feet as Registeel rushes at them with an Iron Head.
"Registeel's using Iron Head! Dodge it! Hurry!" Sora called out. Combusken and Gallade tried to dodge, but Registeel came too fast for them to dodge. Registeel then fired another Flash Cannon. Gallade got up and he uses Psychic to deflect Registeel's Flash Cannon, but it was powerful, and he straining to hold it. Combusken gets on his feet and he looked at the Iron Pokémon. "Combusken, help Gallade!" Combusken rushed at Gallade to help him. "Use Flame Charge!" Combusken charges at Registeel's Flash Cannon and he manages to push Registeel's Flash Cannon with the help of Gallade's Psychic. They managed to push it back, so Registeel was hit by its own attack, followed by Combusken's Flame Charge. "Use Fire Punch!" Combusken lands a fiery punch onto Registeel.
Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Lisia, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, and Marill have arrived and they gasped at what they were seeing.
"What is that thing?" Kris asked.
"It's a Registeel!" Max said.
"Yeah, and Sora's battling it!" Riku said.
"So amazing!" Lisia said.
"Gallade! Use Brick Break!" Sora ordered. Gallade came at Registeel and lands a Brick Break on it, dealing some heavy damage. "Combusken! Sky Uppercut!" Combusken gave Registeel a powerful uppercut, but it wasn't enough to bring it down, so Sora took out an Ultra Ball. "One way or the other, I'm ending this!" Sora threw the Ultra Ball, making it flow inside. The Ultra Ball wobbles around and around. Sora became anxious as did Kairi and the rest. Stars swirls around the Ultra Ball to confirm the catch. Sora's Pokémon Box goes off asking him if he wants to keep Registeel with him. He chose to send Registeel over to Professor Oak's lab. "And that takes care of Registeel." Combusken and Gallade fell on their knees, exhausted. "You guys did awesomely. Get some rest, the both of you." Sora calls Combusken and Gallade back. And that was when Sora and Pikachu saw their friends looking back at them. "Kairi, Riku, and the rest. How much did you see?"
"Not much, but it was epic," Ethan said.
"Yeah, you caught a Registeel!" Max said.
"Well, along with a Regirock and a Regice," Sora said.
"Regirock? Regice? What are you talking about?" Leaf asked.
"We can discuss it when we're outside," Sora said.
With that said, the group made their way back out of the temple and Sora filled them in about encountering Regirock and Regice before battling Registeel. Sora even showed his friends his Pokémon Box to confirm it.
"Wow, Sora. That was quite an adventure," May said.
"Lucky," Max pouted.
"Well, my biggest concern was finding a way out, and that's what I had in mind, so I couldn't wait for you to find me," Sora said.
"Yeah, we know. But the question is, what was that temple even doing there?" Riku said, stroking his chin.
"I thought the same thing. Could it be that there could be a treasure that the ancient people didn't want to be stolen?" Brendan asked.
"No way. I think they were being territorial, and they must have thought Sora was invading," Naminé said.
"Whatever the case, we're just glad we found Sora before it was too late," Kairi said. Sora placed his arm around his girlfriend.
"Don't worry, Kairi. I'm not going anywhere," Sora said.
"You better not, otherwise, your sister won't be the only one you'll be answering to," Leaf said.
"Guys, it won't be like what happened in Hollow Bastion, I promise," Sora said.
"Well, we had an exciting day, so let's get some rest. We can take off in the morning," Kairi said.
"Yeah, you're right. I could use the rest after all tha-" Sora said as he fell backwards.
"Sora!" The rest of the group all exclaimed. Sora was snoring soundly.
"Wow, he must have been pooped," May said.
"After what happened today, it's hard to blame him. He deserved to have a goodnight sleep," Ash said.
"Yeah, he's earned it," Ethan said.
Everyone set up camp as Sora slept soundly. Everyone else followed Sora's example and they slept soundly.
On the very next morning, Sora woke up, yawning and stretching his arms.
"Man, I slept like a log," Sora said. He saw everyone else is sleeping soundly. He whispered, "Better not bother everyone else." He got up quietly and he scampered off.. Just when he was about to get some training done, he bumped into a young man with black hair, silver eyes. He wore a white shirt, black pants, and red sneakers. "Uh, hi."
"Aren't you Sora Ketchum?" The young man asked. Sora groaned. "Yes, I'm Sora Ketchum, the Pokémon League Champion of-"
"No, no, no, not that. I meant, aren't you Sora Ketchum, the son of Kaito Ketchum, and one of Rei Sakura's apprentices?" The young man asked.
"Um, yeah, but who are you?" Sora asked.
"My name's Hikaru Ōkami. I'm an apprentice of Master Ben Blaze. I've been looking forward in meeting you," Hikaru said.
"Nice to meet you, Hikaru, but what do you mean you're an apprentice of Ben? Does that mean you have a Keyblade?" Sora asked.
"Yes. I'll show you," Hikaru said, holding out his hand and summoning a Keyblade. It has an abstract swooping design based off of shooting stars. The top of the handle has a silver shooting star design ending in a multicolored star. The length of the blade has a swooping yellow and white tail ending at the top in an open blue star and a reversed yellow star that make up the teeth. The keychain is three yellow diamonds, and the token is a multicolored star similar to the one on the handle with a yellow diamond on top. This Keyblade shall be known as the Shining Sun. "Now, show me yours." Sora held out his hand and he summoned his Kingdom Key. "Hm, quite a unique Keyblade."
"Sora, what's going on?" Kairi asked, getting up. She noticed the visitor with her boyfriend. "Who are you?"
