The sounds of the battlefield were deafening, but for one young man, he couldn't hear anything.
The young man was 5 foot 11 inches tall, had a muscular build, was wearing a black long sleeved open vest with gold sleeves, black baggy pants held by a brown leather belt with a silver belt buckle around his waist and a pair of dark brown, high-calf boots, while several yellow skull like patterns are on the jacket and pants.
This is Natsu Dragneel, son of the Fire Dragon King Igneel, a Dragon Slayer, and above all, he is a Fairy Tail wizard, one of the best.
Natsu's eyes are wide and filled with tears, for right in front of him and about 150 feet in the air, he father, Igneel was fighting the Dragon King Acnologia.
Igneel was a massive dragon, easily about 150 feet long. His scales are the deepest crimson red, while his underside is a beige color. Igneel has many scars all over his body, the most prominent is the large X shaped scar on his snout.
Acnologia is an equally large dragon, but Acnologia is black with light blue tribal markings all over his body and where Igneel's eyes display warmth and kindness, Acnologia round eyes are pure white and only hold deep, unfiltered hatred for all living things.
The two dragon kings were duking it out far above the earth, Igneel's orange fire blast's striking Acnologia's light blue breath attacks.
The earth shook and trembled before the power these two godly powerful beings were displaying.
However it was apparent that even with all of his strength, Igneel was losing and it was only a matter of time before Igneel fell and when he did, there would be nothing left on this world that could ever fight for even a second against the impossible might of Acnologia.
Natsu watched unmoving as his adopted foster father battled with all of his might against Acnologia and he saw that Igneel was quickly losing ground.
Natsu grit his teeth together and balled his fist's closed to the point blood started to come out of them.
Natsu couldn't lose Igneel, not after all the time he spent trying to find him!
Natsu's eyes opened up and instead of the obsidian orbs that for so long held unbelievable warmth, now his eyes were slitted and looked dragonic, the colors of the two orbs being blood red and the only visible in the orbs was inhuman amounts of rage.
The kind of rage that would attack and destroy anything in it's path, the kind of rage that leaves only destruction in it's wake.
The rage of a dragon.
Natsu bent downwards, took in a deep breathe, the arched his head towards the sky and unleashed his roar.
"AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The roar of the son of Igneel was so loud every living thing for a mile around him heard it and everyone, even the two dragon kings couldn't help, but shiver on fear of what a being with that kind of rage could do.
Natsu then turned towards Acnologia and Acnologia looked towards Natsu.
When the two locked eyes with one another, Acnologia couldn't help, but flinch at those two orbs of blood rage that seemed to burn away his body and see the deepest parts of his soul.
Natsu didn't even look human in Acnologia's eyes anymore.
In this moment, he looked like a demon king.
Natsu's growled like an animal, but otherwise didn't do anything, for right now, Natsu was inside his mindscape.
Within Natsu's mindscape...
Natsu looked around, he wasn't in the remains of the Cube that he was fighting in, right now he was right by a active volcano range, where dozens of active volcano's were filling the air with their deadly smoke.
He then heard loud wings flying towards him and Natsu whirled around and he saw it.
A massive dragon, large as Acnologia and Igneel, clothed in an aura of shadows, so Natsu couldn't get any details off of him.
The dragon flew overheads and then landed about a hundred yards from where Natsu was standing.
The dragon turned towards Natsu and said, "Well, look who the cat dragged in. Took you long enough to get here."
Natsu was confused, what did he mean a cat dragged him in, Happy, Carla, Frosch and Lector were all too weak to drag him and although Pantherlilly could, why would he?
Noticing Natsu's confused face, the dragon then said, "It is just a figure of speech."
Now Natsu was really confused, what is a figure of speech?!
Seeing Natsu's even more confused face, the dragon sweat dropped and thought, "This is my human host? How we aren't dead yet is a miracle."
The dragon then said, "Never mind what I just said. Are you wondering where we are?"
Natsu then broke out of his inner debate and said, "Yeah, where are we, you are you and what the hell is going on?"
The dragon chuckled and said, "Well to answer your questions, we are currently in the deepest, furthest corner of your mind. Better known as the mindscape."
Natsu was a bit shocked and looked around for a few seconds before he said, "I like it!"
The dragon chuckled again and said, "Of course you do. As a Fire Dragon Slayer, you like the heat of a volcano, just as a real Fire Dragon does. Onto who I am, well in the simplest terms, I am you."
Natsu as floored, this large dragon was him, impossible!
"That's impossible! I'm me!" Natsu yelled towards the dragon.
"Yes, you are you, but I am also you. More specifically, I am your dragon side." The dragon said.
Natsu grew even more confused, "My dragon side?" he asked.
The dragon nodded and said, "Yes, your dragon side. When you became a Dragon Slayer, I was born of your dragon instincts emerging. I am the anger, the hatred, the rage that you feel, manifested into that you were meant to slay. I have been dormant all this time due to Igneel being inside of you, keeping me at bay, but no that he is gone, I have awoken and thus the cause for this little chat of ours."
Natsu was floored, something like this had been living inside of himself all of this time? Incredible! But then again, Igneel had been hiding inside of him for almost 10 years, so is it really all that surprising his dragon instincts became sentient and now are a separate entity living inside of him?
The dragon then said, "As for what is going on, I what to make a deal with you."
Natsu became cautious and said, "What kind of deal?"
His dragon said then said, "You want to have the power to save Igneel and protect everyone from Acnologia? I can provide you that strength. I can give you the power of a dragon."
Natsu was stunned, he could have the power of the mightiest species ever to walk the face of the planet? That is almost too good to be true, som Natsu then said, "Something like that can't be for free. What do you want?"
His dragon side chuckled and said, "In exchange for the power to save Igneel and protect your friends, I shall create a dragon form for us, in essence, you shall become a dragon."
Natsu was no longer so eager for this, becoming a dragon, just to protect his friends, was he really willing to go that far?
Sensing his hesitance, his dragon side then said, "Just so you know, the dragon form is not permanent. Think of it like your friends Take-Over forms, she can call on them to boost her power, but they aren't her true form. If we go through with this, you can call upon the dragon forms power at any time and use it however you want to."
Natsu had to admit that this deal did sound extremely appealing, the power to protect everyone he loves and it isn't permanent, so he can continue to live life as he did before, but something was nagging him, so he asked, "What do you get out of this?"
His dragon side chuckled and said, "You aren't as dumb as everyone thinks you are. In order to create our dragon form, I need us to merge, we shall become one being. You shall be in control, while I shall die, but you shall get parts of my personality, so you shall become smarter, more serious, you shall see the world in the light of a dragon, so your senses shall increase to that of a Dragon King and so shall your power grow to equal that of Igneel when he was at his maximum strength."
Natsu was shocked, in order to become a dragon, he had to kill his other self? "No way! I won't allow you to die!"
His dragon side growled and said, "There is no time to discuss this! If you want to save Igneel, we must merge now! While we are talking he is being beaten by Acnologia! If we do not act immediately, Igneel shall die!"
Natsu growled right back and said, "There has to be another way! I will never accept my friends dieing to further my own goals!"
His dragon side growled even loader and shouted out, "THERE IS NO OTHER WAY! THE ONLY WAY WE CAN SAVE IGNEEL IS BY MERGING AND BECOMING A TRUE DRAGON! IF YOU WANT TO WATCH HIM DIE BECAUSE YOU WERE UNWILLING TO KILL A BEING WHO ISN'T REALLY ALIVE, THAN ON YOUR HEAD BE IT!"
Natsu grew quiet and thought back to all the wonderful times he had with his foster father.
Natsu couldn't let him die, so he clenched his fists and said, "Fine, but answer this last question?"
His dragon side then said, "What is it?"
Natsu then said, "Will your death be painful?"
His dragon side shook his head and said, "My death shall be painless, it will be like falling asleep and never waking up."
Natsu then went silent for a few seconds and then said, "I accept your deal. Let us become one."
Natsu's dragon side nodded and was about to begin when Natsu said, "Wait, cast away your shadows so I can see your true form."
Natsu's dragon side then said, "What for?"
Natsu replied with, "I want to see what my dragon form shall look like, I want you to make our dragon form look exactly like yourself, so a little part of you shall always live on."
Natsu's dragon side was silent for a few seconds before he said, "Very well. Behold!"
The shadows surrounding his dragon side vanished and the beast that has cloaked by the shadows was revealed to Natsu.
Natsu gasped, this was to be his dragon form?
His dragon side smirked and said, "Impressed?"
Natsu smirked right back and said, "Very. Let's go kick Acnologia's ass!"
Natsu raised his right fist towards his dragon side, who raised his left fist in replience.
The two fists smacked together and then Natsu was converted into bright red energy, while his dragon side turned into bright blue energy.
The two balls of energy then began to twirl around each other, coming closer and closer until at last they merged into one large ball of bright blue energy, while the volcanoes surrounding them erupted all at once with a hellish amount of energy that couldn't be contained.
Outside of the mindscape...
Meanwhile, the battle against Tartaros was going badly, Mard Geer was managing to hold off Sting, Rogue and Gray all at once, while Acnologia was really starting to beat Igneel, who was barely holding his own anymore.
Natsu's still form was standing right where Natsu left it, unmoving as explosion happened all around him.
Suddenly, Natsu's eyes began to glow a fierce light blue color and then something began to happen.
A large amount of heat began to erupt from Natsu's form and then a large circle appeared around Natsu.
From the circle came forth fire with heat the likes of which no one present had ever felt.
The fire twisted into the shape of a large dragon that began to roar and then the fire twisted again and became a sphere then engulfed Natsu's still form.
The fire's outer side then hardened and became jagged rock.
The sphere also had lines of burning lava all over it, illuminating in the darkness.
Everyone was shocked that this had happened, Natsu, one of their friends has been encased in a sphere of rock.
Sting was the one to break the silence by yelling out towards Mard Geer, "What did you do?!"
Mard Geer cooly replied with, "Mard Geer has done nothing to the fire breathing idiot you call a team mate. Whatever happened, it was not caused by Mard Geer."
Sting was practically foaming at the mouth now and snarled out, "Lying bastard! I know you did something and I am going to beat the answers out of you!"
Sting then launched forwards and launched an endless barrage of attacks using his Light Dragon Slayer magic, but Mard Geer calmly dodged them all like they were nothing.
Sting was then joined by Rogue and Gray, but all of their attacks were dodged like they were nothing by Mard.
Meanwhile, with Lucy, she was crying in front of the sphere, the supposed burial sight of one of her best friends.
Thump thump.
Lucy stopped cry when she heard the first beats, it couldn't be true.
Thump thump. Thump thump.
Lucy's eyes widened as an impossible truth became apparent to her: Natsu was still alive!
Thump thump. Thump thump. Thump thump.
Around the sphere, other members of Fairy Tail also heard the sounds and also came to the same conclusion that Lucy had: those noises were the sounds of a heart beating.
Thump thump. Thump thump. Thump thump. Thump thump.
With each beat of the heart, the lava glowed bright and then dimmed a bit, but then the lava glowed even brighter than before.
The lava was starting to get very bright and the heartbeat was getting so loud it was starting to hurt those surrounding the sphere.
With Igneel and Acnologia...
Igneel roared out in anguish when he saw his son get swallowed up by that sphere, his one son had just died and there was nothing he could do about it.
Well, he could kill Acnologia and save his sons friends, that was the least he could do to honor his son's sacrifice.
Igneel then roared out, "DIE YOU WORTHLESS EXCUSE OF A DRAGON! DIE! FIRE DRAGON KING'S ROAR!"
Igneel then unleashed a massive amount of angry orange flames that struck Acnologia and caused the self proclaimed dragon king to crash to the ground as the wave f fire crashed into him.
Igneel kept up the attack for a minute before he stopped and serveyed the damage done.
Acnologia came out of the crater formed by the fire completely unscathed and Acnologia said to Igneel, "Is this all the Fire Dragon King can do?"
Igneel then snarled and said, "I can do a lot better than that , you worthless worm!"
The two dragon kings then flew towards each other and clashed in the sky, creating massive shockwaves that propagated throughout the land.
Acnologia and Igneel then grappled each other and Acnologia then said, "You get angry for a single human insect? You bring shame upon us all."
Igneel then headbutted Acnologia and said, "I get angry for my son, who died trying to end the madness that is E.N.D. and Mard Geers crazy plan."
Acnologia then roared out saying, "LET'S END THIS!"
Igneel snarled and said, "I couldn't agree more."
The two dragons flew forwards and crashed into each other, trying to overpower the other.
Acnologia got lucky and managed to throw Igneel to the ground.
Igneel groaned and then roared out in pain as Acnologia landed on his stomach, causing him to cough up a little bit of blood.
Inside the sphere...
Inside the sphere, there was a sea of lava swirling around and in the center of the sea was a massive black shape curled up into a ball.
The shape didn't move at all, no matter what sounds he heard from the outside, the shape wouldn't react.
However, when the roar of pain from Igneel was heard by the shape, his eyes immediately shot open.
His eyes were large and draconic in appearance, being slitted.
The iris was bright green while the pupil was black.
"Igneel." The shape spoke out in a deep commanding voice.
The shape then began to grow even large and also began to glow light blue and the shape then said, "I am coming."
The lava surrounding him began to act erratic and also began to swirl around the shape faster.
Outside...
Sting coughed as he pulled himself up from the rubble that was created when Mard sent him flying.
To his left Gray was also starting to get up after he had been struck in the face by the thorns, while Rogue was half buried in a wall about thirty feet from him.
Sting growled, Mard was just playing with them, even with Gray's Ice Devil Slayer magic they were having their asses handed to them.
Then, a massive crack was heard and all eyes turned towards the rock sphere that encased Natsu.
A large crack was now on the top of the sphere, showing the inside of the sphere for all to see.
Then, many now cracks appeared all over the sphere, each one growing larger than the last.
Erza looked into one of the cracks and saw a massive blue light from within the sphere growing each second and sh then yelled out, "EVERYONE! GET AWAY FROM THE SPHERE, IT'S GOING TO EXPLODE!"
Everyone began to run away from the sphere and get behind cover as fast as they could while the sphere's cracks began to glow blue and grow wider by the second until...
BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!
The sphere exploded into a billion little pieces, none of the pieces larger than a human fist.
Strands of lava and blue fire spread out everywhere, somehow not hitting anyone.
Once the dust from the explosion settled down, everyone gasoed in shock at what came out of the sphere.
Right where the sphere once stood, now a massive 150 foot long dragon now stands.
The dragon's scales are crimson red and they overlap again and again, making getting past them near impossible. The dragon's build is a lot more muscular and larger than Acnologia and Igneel, meaning this dragon is a lot stronger than either of them. The forearms of this dragon are jagged, with a triangular scale above each wrist, while three large sky blue diamond shaped scales are on the forearm, each of the diamond shaped sky blue scales have a white scale outline around them. On each shoulder is a much larger sky blue diamond shaped scale. The lower legs are equally large as the arms, while also having triangular scales and like the forearms, each legs has three large sky blue scales, on on the lower leg, on on the kneecap and one above the kneecap and finally on this dragon's thighs are a large diamond shaped sky blue scale. The dragon's back has a stripe of pink scales that go from the back of the dragon's head to the tip of the tail. Along the back is two rows of golden spikes that are blade like and on either side of those spines are two rows of white scales. The tip of the tail is donned by a large golden trident shaped tail spike. His claws are large and sharp, each one is white as snow, while his teeth are just as large as Igneels and no less sharp as the fire Dragon King's teeth. On the dragon's underside is pink scales where Igneel is beige. This dragon's wings are larger than Acnologia's and Igneel's, likely due to this dragon's much larger weight due to his much larger bulk. This dragon's head is shaped a lot like Igneel's, but is larger and a lot more streamline, with only two horns behind his head, each one shaped exactly like Igneel's, but this dragon's horns are pure golden colored. The dragon's eyes are slitted and massive, being colored green for the iris, while the pupil is obsidian. On the dragon's chest is a massive diamond shaped sky blue scale, this one is not only outlined with white scales, but also has a second outline of gold. The hands and feet are shaped like a human's feet, each having five digits encased in triangular armor.
The dragon stood still for a few moments before he opened his maw and unleashed his roar for the first time.
"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The dragon roared out.
The force behind the roar was so great it caused several people's ears to start to bleed and others feel unconscious from the sheer volume of the roar as well.
The dragon then turned towards Acnologia and shouted out in a deep, commanding voice, "ACNOLOGIA!"
The dragon took a deep breathe and then shouted out, "FIRE DRAGON'S OBLITERATING ROAR!"
From this new dragon's maw came a monstrous amount of blue flames that destroyed the ground near it.
The jet of unimaginably destructive flames struck Acnologia's chest and caused the dragon king to roar out in absolute pain.
Acnologia was tossed off of Igneel and sent flying backwards.
Once he stood, Acnologia then stood up and roared out, but was cut short by the incredible pain coming from where the flames had hit him.
Acnologia looked and saw a massive burn mark from where the flames had made contact with his scales.
Acnologia turned and glared at this new dragon, never had he felt such pain from a single breath attack from any dragon, not even Igneel.
Acnologia roared out a challenge towards this new dragon, who took it up in the form a roar.
Acnologia took to the skies, while the new dragon opened his wings for the first time and with a few flaps, took to the skies.
Acnologia turned around and readied his breath attack, while this new dragon also readied his own breath attack.
Once both breath attacks were ready, Acnologia and the new dragon unleashed them, the two beams of light blue streaked towards each other and then collided with each other, causing a massive explosion to erupt from where the two beams met.
Once the dust settled, it showed both dragon's perfectly fine, with not a scratch on them.
The new dragon then shouted out, "I AM GOING TO END YOU! tIME TO TURN THINGS UP! LIGHTNING-FIRE DRAGON MODE!"
The new dragon's body then became engulfed in not only vast amounts of intense blue fire, but also the dragon's form was coated in white lightning.
Everyone from Fairy Tail gasped when the new dragon did that, for only one being they new of could do such a thing.
"I-i-is that N-n-natsu?" Wendy stuttered out.
"How can that be? He has never shown the ability to change into a dragon before." Lucy said.
Makarov then said, "He was encased in a large rocky sphere with magma veins covering it remember? I have no idea what happened while he was in the sphere, but is obvious that our resident Fire Dragon Slayer is now a real Fire Dragon. However he became a dragon is irrelevant, all that matters is that we have a chance now to. While he is dealing with Acnologia, we can focus all our forces onto Mard Geer and take away the book of E.N.D. from him, while the other dragon's take down Face. Let's do this! FOR FAIRY TAIL!"
"FOR FAIRY TAIL!"
That was the battle cry that sounded the turn of the tide, for now every single one of the mages able to fight went and began to coordinate all on Mard Geer, who became quickly overwhelmed by this incredible force.
While everyone distracted Mard, Gray shot him in the back with several Ice Devil's Zeroth Destruction Bow Blasts and thus the master of Tartaros fell not with a bang, but with a whimper.
Meanwhile, Metalicana, Grandeeney, Weisslogia and Skiadrum have attacked and destroyed all of the Face parts, preventing E.N.D. from being awakened.
Now, the only threat to peace that remains at this time is Acnologia, who is fighting Natsu.
Natsu and Acnologia charged towards each other once again, resulting in another massive shockwave that tears through the ground.
Acnologia is now panting hard and has several really bad burns all over his body, plus four massive scratch marks across his chest, blood coming out of them.
Meanwhile, Natsu only has a few scratches on his body, showing that he is winning this fight.
Natsu then roars out, "THIS ENDS NOW! I ACTIVATE DRAGON FORCE!"
Natsu's entire form then become engulfed in even more intense flames and lightning, while his eye's are glowing pure bright green.
Natsu's next move was to yell out, "LIGHTNING FIRE DRAGON'S FIRING HAMMER!"
Natsu's entire right forearm became engulfed in intense fire and lightning an then Natsu flew towards Acnologia.
Acnologia sent another breath attack towards Natsu, who rolled to the left and dodged the attack.
Natsu was now close enough to attack Acnologia, so he cocked back his right arm and smashed his fist right into Acnologia's face.
Acnologia was not only burned by the intense flames, but also was shocked by the absurdly powerful lightning.
Acnologia roared out in agony, allowing Natsu to use his next spell.
Natsu's next attack was, "LIGHTNING-FIRE DRAGON'S IRON FIST!"
Natsu's left fist became coated in blue fire and white lightning and then Natsu smashed the powerful move into the other side of Acnologia's face.
Acnologia recovered however and then smashed his own blue covered fist into Natsu's stomach, causing said dragon to be sent flying aways from the back dragon of the apocalypse.
Natsu flew backwards and crashed into a mountain, but was quick to get back up and saw Acnologia coming flying towards him.
Natsu was about to react, but a voice then yelled out, "FIRE DRAGON KING'S ROAR!"
A massive torrent of orange flames struck Acnologia in the chest and sent him flying away from Natsu.
Natsu looked over to Igneel and saw his foster dad little beaten up, but still able to kick ass.
Natsu then yelled out, "LIGHTNING-FIRE DRAGON'S BLISTERING ERUPTION!"
Natsu's right forearm was engulfed in blue flames with white lightning and then smashed his massive fist into the ground in front of him.
His fire and lightning was blasted into the ground and then the flames and lightning went charging through the ground and once it reached Acnologia it exploded from the ground.
The explosion was massive, easily enough to destroy a mountain in an instant, with intense blue fire and white lightning, plus a large amount of magma exploding from underneath Acnologia and hitting him full on.
Acnologia screeched in agony as blue flames enhanced with white lightning and red magma struck him.
For what seemed like hours, the flames with lightning and magma attacked Acnologia before eventually they finally left.
Acnologia slumped over, that attack was by far the most painful thing he had ever felt before in his life.
Acnologia then pulled his head up, just in time to see Natsu and Igneel flying towards him with their talons outstretched.
Igneel shouted out, "FIRE DRAGON'S BURNING TALONS!" while Natsu shouted out, "LIGHTNING-FIRE DRAGON'S SCORCHING TALONS!"
Igneel's talon became covered in bright orange flames, while Natsu's were covered in bright blue flames, while white lightning covered the talons.
Igneel slashed Acnologia's right arm, while Natsu got a really slash across Acnologia's chest.
Acnologia then covered his own fists with bright blue energy and smashed Igneel across the face his his right fist and punched Natsu in the gut with his left.
Igneel flew backwards while Natsu bent forwards due to the pain, and then Acnologia smashed his other fist into Natsu's face, making him fly backwards as well.
Natsu struck the ground with a tremendous "thud", but quickly got back on his feet, just in time to avoid a breath attack from Acnologia.
Natsu flapped his wings and got back into the air, alongside of Igneel.
Natsu turned to his adoptive father and said, "Any ideas?"
Igneel nodded and said, "It is a very bad one, but it might just work which is good because I have just enough energy left for one more attack."
Igneel then told Natsu his plan and Natsu nodded.
Acnologia was now flying towards the two Fire Dragons, who turned and flew even higher into the air.
"What's the matter, acknowledging that I am stronger than you two? It is far too late for that." Acnologia taunted.
Natsu and Igneel ignored him and continued to fly for a few more seconds before Igneel then shouted out, "NOW NATSU!"
Natsu turned around and flew towards Acnologia, while Igneel gathered all of his energy into his mouth and then sent a massive pillar of fire towards Natsu.
The orange fire wrapped around Natsu's blue flames and then Natsu yelled out, "FIRE DRAGON SECRET SLAYER ARTS: HIDDEN FIRE FORM-CRIMSON LOTUS: APOCALYPTIC PHOENIX BLADE!"
Natsu's fire then took that shape of a massive blue flame, lightning covered phoenix and then Natsu flew at neck breaking speeds towards Acnologia.
Acnologia sensed the power behind that spell, he knew that if it struck him, he would die.
Acnologia then took his deepest breath ever and then a massive amount of light blue energy formed in his mouth and then he unleashed the largest breath attack ever seen in the history of Earthland.
The two mighty spells clashed together, the ultimate breath attack verse's the ultimate secret slayer art, causing a massive power struggle to begin.
Slowly, ever so slowly, Natsu began to move even closer to Acnologia, who began to pump even more power into his breath attack.
Eventually, Natsu's attack broke through and then he flew towards Acnologia, who couldn't move out of the way.
As Natsu closed in, Acnologia accepted his fate, he had been beaten and killed by a worthy opponent, the warrior inside of him couldn't be any happier to die on he battlefield and die a warrior's death.
"ARRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!" Natsu roared out with power as he closed in.
When Natsu's attack struck Acnologia, the largest explosion anyone had ever seen erupted outwards, destroying miles and miles of land in all directions.
Luckily, Metalicana, Grandeeney, Weisslogia and Skiadrum had arrived and used their magical power to save Igneel and the others from the monstrous explosion that was currently destroyed everything in its path.
For what seemed like hours, the explosion continued to tear through the earth, but eventually the explosion died away and eventually the dust settled down.
Everyone looked towards the massive crater that had been formed from the attack and standing at its bottom was Natsu, tired, exhausted, but unbowed, unbeaten and victorious.
The smoking remains of Acnologia's body was only a few hundred feet from Natsu, the only recognisable thing about Acnologia's body was his head, while the rest was too badly burned to resemble anything like the black dragon of the apocalypse's body.
Natsu was panting hard, clearly he had used everything he had with that final attack.
Natsu then began to fall forwards, but a pair of strong arm's kept the human turned dragon from falling to the ground.
Natsu turned to his right and saw his foster father smiling at him, pride clearly on his face.
"You have done well my son. Rest for now, you have earned it." Igneel said.
Natsu smiled and then fell asleep and when he did, his body was covered in bright blue flames.
The flames got smaller and smaller until the disappeared and in their place was Natsu's human form, which was a bit different from before he merged with his dragon form.
Natsu's human form was now 6 foot 9 inches tall, while his salmon hair was now much longer, if it stood down it would reach to his shoulders, his body was much larger now, much more broadly built, had a lot more muscle to it, and also, he now had a tattoo on his left shoulder.
The tattoo was of a dragon that looked exactly the same as his dragon forms and was even colored exactly the same, but this tattoo also had a light blue edging to it.
Natsu only had his pants on now, his other clothes were destroyed when he transformed into a dragon.
Igneel flew off towards where Fairy tail had accumulated and where the other four dragons were waiting for Igneel.
Igneel landed and then gently laid Natsu onto the ground in front of the mages.
"NATSU!" His friends cried as they rushed towards his body.
Wendy got there first and then began to use her Sky Dragon Slayer magic to heal any internal or external wounds Natsu had gotten.
After about fifteen minutes of healing, Wendy stopped and said, "Natsu is all better now. He will only be sore for a few days and will need to rest to gather the magic power he spent back."
All of the Fairy Tail mages breathed a sign of relief and then Makarov turned towards Igneel and said, "From the bottom of my heart, thank you for aiding us and for saving my children."
Igneel nodded and said, "It was our pleasure to help you, it gave us the chance to see how much our students have learned and grown up since last we saw them."
Gajeel then said, "So why did you guys leave us anyways?"
Sting then said, "Yeah, it's good to see you again Weisslogia, but aren't you supposed to be dead?"
Rogue nodded and said, "I remember your death Skiadrum."
Igneel said, "We have never left you Dragon Slayers. We have always been with you, more specifically, we have been inside of you this entire time."
"But why?" Wendy asked.
Grandeeney answered with, "Because, we have been making antibodies that have prevented you all from turning into dragons, but it appears that Igneel's son somehow managed to burn away all of the antibodies and created a dragon form that he can change into whenever he wants to. How he managed to do such a thing, I cannot say, for nothing like this has ever happened before."
Weisslogia then said, "As for how I and Skiadrum are still alive, we altered you memories so that you could have experience actually killing dragon's to better prepare you to fight Acnologia."
"But to say we are actually alive is a bit premature." Skiadrum added.
"What do you mean?" Romeo asked.
Metalicana then said, "400 years ago, during the Dragon Civil War, Acnologia stole the souls of dozens of dragons, ours included. The forms you see before you are the last remnants of our souls left. Soon, we shall die."
The eyes of everyone present widened, none more so than the dragon slayers.
"You can't die! We spent so much time looking for you!" Wendy cried out.
"Dear child, we have been dead for centuries. It is past our time to go to the next world." Grandeeney said.
"No, it is now." Natsu said as he weakly got to his feet.
"Natsu, there is nothing you can do to save us. You may have beaten Acnologia, but you can't save the dead." Igneel said.
Natsu grinned and said, "That's where you are wrong pops. Look."
Natsu cupped his hands and then, a rainbow colored ball appeared in his hands.
Igneel and the other dragon's gasped, and Igneel said, "How did you retrieve our souls?"
Natsu grinned and said, "Well just as my attack hit Acnologia, I saw his soul and then saw you soul merged with four others, so before my attack released them, I absorbed them into my own body to keep them safe. If you are wondering how I knew how to do this, my dragon side told me how to. Since you were inside my body, my dragon side subconsciously absorbed some of your knowledge, such as the Soul Absorption Technique. When me and my dragon side merged, our knowledge combined into one, thus giving me the knowledge how to fight as a dragon and also how to absorb dragon souls, thus allowing me to retrieve your souls from Acnologia."
Igneel began to laugh and said, "You are truly one of a kind my boy."
Natsu grinned and said, "Don't you forget it!"
Natsu then closed his eyes and concentrated on the five dragon souls he carried within himself.
One by one, five rainbow colored orbs floated out of his body and then flew into each of the dragons.
Once their souls collided with them, the five dragon's glowed rainbow colored for a good five minutes before the light died down.
Natsu then said, "So how do you guys feel?"
Igneel laughed and said, "I feel better than I have felt in over 400 years! My soul has returned!"
Grandeeney nodded and said, "It is wonderful to be whole once again."
Metalicana then said, "I guess we aren't dying today after all."
Weisslogia turned to Skiadrum and said, "I never would have believed we would still live through this whole mess. I have never been so glad to be wrong."
Skiadrum nodded and said, "Agreed old friend. It is wonderful to allowed to live on."
Natsu then said, "So what are you guys going to do now that you aren't going to die now?"
Igneel then said, "Well I don't know about the other dragon's, but I am going to join Fairy Tail! I just got my son back, I am not going to leave him now!"
Grandeeney nodded and said, "I have so much to catch up on with Wendy. I am never going to leave your side child ever again."
Wendy had tears in her eyes and said, "I would love that."
Skiadrum and Weisslogia looked at each other and Skiadrum said, "I guess Weisslogia and I are going to join Sabertooth, if only to make sure that Sting and Rogue don't do anything stupid."
Sting and Rogue didn't like that little comment and said, "What do you mean, so they don't do anything stupid?"
Weisslogia and Skiadrum then said, "We know you two."
Metalicana then said, "I guess I shall go to Fairy Tail as well, just so I can keep an eye on my brat."
Gajeel then yelled, "You want to go you old fossil?! I will turn you into scrap metal!"
Igneel and the other dragons then closed their eyes and began to glow their respective colors.
Once the glowing stopped and died down, the dragons new forms were visible for all to see.
Weisslogia and Skiadrum looked almost exactly like Sting and Rogue, only older, but Weisslogia had waist level white hair, has yellow eyes and was wearing a white T-shirt with black pants and brown combat boots, while Skiadrum had spiky black hair, has red eyes and was wearing a black T-shirt, brown pants and black combat boots.
Grandeeney looked like Wendy if she was 21, with waist level light blue hair, blue eyes, was wearing a knee level white blouse, knee level brown cowgirl boots, has two cloud shaped light blue earrings.
Metalicana looked like Gajeel, but was taller, more muscular, has only shoulder length iron grey hair, has white eyes, is wearing a black sleeveless open vested shirt, while also wearing grey pants, has brown combat boots, fingerless black gloves and finally, he has a brown belt with a silver belt buckle.
Igneel now looks almost exactly like Natsu, save for the fact he is taller, older looking and has orange hair, plus he has a X shaped scar on the right side of his face. he is wearing a orange T-shirt, has beige pants, black sandals and finally he has a familiar white scaly scarf in his right hand.
Natsu then said, "Hey, my scarf! You found it!"
Igneel chuckled and said, "Yes I did."
Wendy had already run up to Grandeeney and was hugging the sky dragon for all she was worth.
Meanwhile Weisslogia, Skiadrum Sting and Rogue were all talking together, while Frosch and Lector were getting to know the two dragons.
Metalicana and Gajeel were glaring at each other, daring each other to make the first move.
Igneel and Natsu were hugging each other after Igneel had given Natsu his scarf back.
After the dragons and dragon slayers had all talked for a bit, all of Fairy Tail went back to Magnolia Town.
Once there, they found their beloved guild in rubble still.
Makarov then said, "My children, we have just come from a horrible war, and we all bear the scars of that war. I think it best if you all take a least a month vacation before we begin rebuilding the guild."
Everyone nodded and then they all went their separate ways for their vacations, save for the dragon slayers and their dragons, they all went as a group into the mountains to talk and train.
One month later...
Natsu, Gajeel, Wendy, Happy, Carla, Lily, Igneel, Grandeeney and Metalicana all went back to Magnolia town, having spent a month working past their differences.
Once back in Magnolia town, they went immediately to were the guild was once located and once there, they saw every other member of Fairy Tail waiting for them.
Makarov then said, "Now that we are all here, we can begin to rebuild our beloved guild, for even though we suffered much during our war against Tartaros, Fairy Tail will never give up, nor shall we ever surrender. We shall build up our guild, bigger and better than before and we shall show to the rest of the world we are now and for forever, the strongest guild in all of Fiore!"
The crowed cheered and then began to long job of rebuilding the guild.
Timeskip...
"It has been 7 long years since that day and since then, much has changed.
After we rebuilt the guild, Fairy Tail went on to prove we are the strongest in the next 7 Grand Magic Games.
The dragons stayed with us and together with us Dragon Slayers, we brought back the dragon race as a whole and now, there are hundreds of dragons all throughout the world, all of them working together to protect the peace between dragons and humans.
Alvarez attacked Fiore, but united as one, us and the other guilds pushed them back and I killed Zeref, and this caused all the demons Zeref ever created to be destroyed.
We then found out that I, Natsu, am actually Etherious Natsu Dragneel, or E.N.D.
I was born 400 years ago and Zeref was my brother, but Zeref couldn't control his magic, so he killed me.
Zeref went mad after losing me, so he dove into dark and forbidden magic in an attempt to revive me, and he succeeded, but in order to revive me he turned me into a hybrid, half-human, half-demon and named me Etherious Natsu Dragneel.
But because Zeref bent the rules of life and death, he was cursed by Ankhseram to kill life the more he loved it.
Zeref then created more demons to aid me in the mission.
Kill Zeref.
I created a different type of power called Curses that drew power from the negative emotions of humanity to aid us.
But due to my overuse of Curses, I went insane, so Igneel fought me and beat me.
Igneel then split my personality, Etherious Natsu Dragneel was sealed inside my mind, while the little boy Zeref killed was awoken again.
Igneel then adopted me and trained me in dragon slayer magic so I could help kill Acnologia.
Then, Igneel and the other dragons went to the Eclipse gate and went 400 years into the future where magic was much more plentiful.
Igneel and the other dragons then sealed themselves inside us dragon slayers to keep them alive and to help us against Acnologia when the time was right.
The rest is history.
Everyone accepted that I am E.N.D., but I am also the Natsu they grew up with, so I am accepted by all.
I am also the Dragon King, ruler of all Dragonkind after I killed Acnologia.
The other dragon slayers now also have dragon forms like myself and they are some of the most respected dragons around.
We have had to go through a lot, but we have won the wars and now, everyone is looking to the future.
Most of the guild is now married and is having children, while I am still single, but I have started to date Erza now.
Life is great now, it still has its hardships, but together with the dragons, we can overcome anything.
