Pokemon Virus Version Chapter 124: Yuki's Last Wish

Author's Note:

Here you go, readers. Compared to the previous chapter, typing this one wasn't bad. Pretty straight forward. Please enjoy, because next Chapter will conclude everything since arriving in Mahogany Town-with the exception of Commander 06 Beatrice, and her Volbeat & Illumise.

Location: Icy Mountains-Aomori Village Outskirts

Seth's POV

"Yumi!" I sat on my knees, right in front of Yumi as I addressed her. Yumi was somewhat startled, "Yumi, you're pretty."

Everything stood still upon those words coming from my mouth. But then again, what surrounded us was a makeshift graveyard, decorated with those who have fallen at the hands of Froslass. There's a possibility Morana might be dead, with that kunai piercing the back of her neck. Her Mamoswine and Abomasnow were down as well. Yumi…it's safe to assume her party was defeated, unfortunately. Umbreon, Braixen, and Gligar all lie unconscious in the snow.

All who remained were me, Yumi, Chikorita, and the Froslass known as Yukiko.

Everything that's happened here…Yumi was able to forget it all the moment those words came from my mouth. She was speechless, and blushing.

Yes, Yumi was pretty. It took me until now to realize this. Telling Yumi she was pretty also helped me break away from the hypnotism of Yukiko and those icy blue eyes.

Who knew what Yukiko was thinking as she stared at Yumi's blushing face. She then addressed me, 'I've waited so long for those words to come from your lips.' Perhaps Yumi could echo that statement, 'But to hear you express such pleasure at the sight of another woman?!' Yuki closed her eyes, and sighed before slowly opening them and asking me, 'My hypnotism had quite the effect on you, didn't it? When you were dreaming, we were engaged. Remember? If you're able to tell that wench she's pretty, then surely you can express the same pleasure for me! Am I pretty?'

'Am I pretty?'

'Am I…pret-?"

'Am I…?'

'Am…?'

'?'

'…'

That question has echoed in my head for who knows how long now…But it seemed as if it finally disappeared. The hallucinations of Yukiko the Froslass were no more!

I rose to my feet, Yumi following suit as I said to Yukiko, "Thanks to Yumi, I've broken through your illusion. I can no longer see or hear anything you present to me as 'human nature'. From here on out, you're just a normal pokemon to me." I narrowed my eyes.

"Froslass…" That was it. Froslass could only mutter the cry that belonged to her pokemon species as she adopted a face of frustration.

For all I knew, Froslass may still want to kill Yumi and I. She was going to add us to her collection of victims displayed on the many ice mirrors surrounding us…No anymore. Froslass is still view as a threat, which meant that this battle had to come to an end.

I turned to Chikorita, and called her name, "Chikorita!"

"Chi?"

"Battle stance." I called, "Time to defeat Froslass."

"Chico!" Chikorita, despite all the defeated lying in the battlefield, and each past victim in an icy mirror, was eager to step up in my defense.

Just because Chikorita was in my dream where we met Lord Tolbi and Guardian Bishop, doesn't mean she recognizes them in the mirrors here.

"Seth, are you sure Chikorita can handle this?" Yumi asked.

Without looking at Yumi, I answered, "I'm sure."

"Froslass…" Froslass was expecting me to understand what she was saying, but I wasn't having any of that.

"Froslass, this will be our final battle." I then called to Chikorita, wasting no time to initiate this fight, "Chikorita, use Energy Ball."

"Chi!" Of course, Chikorita did as I said, launching a ball of green energy at the floating Ice type.

Of course, I was well aware that a straightforward attack like this wouldn't work on Froslass. "Lass!" Froslass dodged with ease, allowing for the Energy Ball to collide into one of the icy mirrors. In the mirror, was the image of Pryce…until the mirror was cracked.

"Mr. Pryce…" Yumi said to herself.

"Lass!" Froslass, the spirit of Yukiko gave me a familiar sight: her holding a kunai in her hand. This kunai produced was made out of ice though. Not as dangerous as the steel kunai she used in the past. She held the kunai to her face, licking the edge slowly. "Lass!"

Even her stance was similar to how she held it when she was human. Every trait she had in the dream, she's retained it here; many years later. Her ambiguity stems from her frustration with having men at her doorstep, proposing to her every day. After being lost in the mountains, she must've developed a desire to be called pretty, because without the endless men there to compliment her, a void was created. She lures men using illusions-men like Pryce-and eventually kills them with her thirst for blood, developed when Lord Tolbi, Guardian Bishop, and Bisharp were killed. In conclusion: There was no coincidence when it came to Yukiko the Froslass.

"Lass!" Froslass flew at Chikorita, kunai now held in a position where it was protruded outward. She used it to try and slash Chikorita…the way Bisharp slashed her Snorunt.

"Chi!" Chikorita hopped back, dodging Froslass' personal touch on an Ice Shard attack.

"Fros!" Froslass closed in again, attempting another slash.

Chikorita dodge rolled to her left.

"Lass!" Froslass didn't stop there. She wanted blood on that kunai, and she was persistent. She flew to Chikorita, closing the small gap made. Three swift times, she tried thrusting the kunai into Chikorita's face.

"Chico!" Chikorita proceeded to stop the continuous attempts by grabbing Froslass' arm using the leaf on her head.

"Energy Ball." I called.

Froslass grinned, and before Chikorita could carry out the order I gave her.

Why? Chikorita should've known grabbing Froslass like that wouldn't work, given her type.

"Lass…" Froslass closed her eyes as she phased through Chikorita.

"Chi?!" Chikorita was astonished.

"What?" And so was Yumi, "But how?"

Grabbing Froslass like that wasn't even an actual attack, but normal attacks like that weren't going to work on the Ghost type. Energy Ball has proven to be just as evadible as Chandelure's Shadow Ball earlier tonight.

Chikorita…she was cornered.

"Chi…" She nervously looked into Froslass' cold, icy eyes.

"Lass!" Chikorita couldn't touch Froslass, but Froslass could touch Chikorita, as shown when she successfully thrust Chikorita with the ice kunai from up close.

On the snow, Chikorita skidded back, to where she was right in front of Yumi and I.

"Chi…"

We were barely into this fight, and Chikorita was already showing her weakness…I COULD switch pokemon. But…Chandelure had MORE than one type advantage tonight, but still couldn't get the job done. Mawile is still hurt from the dry ice during our Gym Battle a few days ago…I believe I had to stick with Chikorita.

"Chico…" Chikorita rose to her feet. Fortunately, she was able to withstand Froslass' attack without being slashed open. Ice wasn't as effective as steel in that sense…But Ice was still super effective to Grass.

"FROSLASS!" Froslass adopted a sinister look on her face as she shifted her holding position of the kunai once again. Now, she was swiftly motioning as if she were stabbing something…a 'preview' on what she was going to do to Chikorita.

Froslass flew at Chikorita one more time.

Chikorita was intimidated. Such a violent motion being displayed, and it was intended for her. Panic started to creep up, and in her panicking, she was able to launch an attack just in time.

"Chi!" She launched an Energy Ball.

"Lass?" The charging Froslass' eyes grew wide.

Froslass flew straight into the ball of green energy, which blew up into smoke on contact, sending Froslass flying. She was headed straight for one of the ice mirrors.

"LASS!" She fazed through, and her reflection could now be seen. "Lass…"

Chikorita launched an Energy Ball at the mirror, but before Energy Ball could hit its mark, Froslass disappeared. Energy Ball created another cloud of smoke, and once it dissipated, it showed the icy mirror cracked.

"Lass." Froslass reappeared in a mirror located near the top of Froslass' 'chamber'…and the one next to it…and the one across from it.

"What's Froslass doing?" Yumi asked.

"It's using the mirrors to confuse us," I replied, "Each mirror works with the other in refracting Froslass' image. We don't know which one contains the real Froslass…" As I said this, Froslass' image was appearing on the remainder of the mirrors, "She could be anywhere in the room right now…"

"Chi…" Chikorita, unnerved, took a step back while gazing back and forth between each of the icy mirrors. Confusion was written all over her face.

"It's hard to tell which one contains the real Froslass," Yumi said, "I mean, she's a ghost."

Let's wait for Froslass to make a move, then we'll know where to strike.

"Froslass!" Froslass, and her many reflections in the room, prepared a single kunai, ready to throw.

"Chi." Chikorita flinched, but at the same time, she braced herself.

Froslass threw the ice kunai. I expected for a single kunai to come at Chikorita, but was surprised when an icy kunai-in the flesh-came from each mirror, ALL directed at Chikorita.

Quickly, I called, "Use Reflect."

Chikorita summoned a golden, seemingly holographic sphere around herself which shielded her from the ice kunai. Froslass was as good of a kunoichi now as she was when she was Princess Yukiko, as each kunai WAS solid. Every kunai stood on end, completely blocked by Reflect. The ice kunai were just Froslass' personal touch on an Ice Shard, which IS a physical attack.

"Chico." Chikorita looked at the kunai surrounding her, before they all fell to the ground. You could hear some of the ice cackle against each other.

"Your kunai have been rendered useless." I remarked out loud. My voice bounced off the mirrors and echoed throughout the room. I knew Froslass could hear me, "What will you do now?"

"Hmph." On every mirror, Froslass' eyes narrowed.

"Chikorita, destroy the mirrors!" Chikorita's Energy Ball inadvertently cracked one mirror a few moments ago, rendering completely useless to Froslass. Maybe if we crack all of them, Froslass will be forced to withdraw from her illusion and fight honestly.

"Chi! Chi! Chi!" Chikorita got the process started, launching three Energy Balls at three separate mirrors.

Each Energy Ball hit their mark, causing the mirrors to crack after the smoke cleared.

"You can't hide forever, Froslass." Yumi cheered.

"You may be closer than you think to fighting us honestly," I remarked. There was a chain effect destroying three of the ice mirrors would bring. "Because these mirrors are unable to reflect your image, other mirrors not targeted by Energy Ball are unable to receive the images. Your illusions are dwindling, Froslass."

"Lass?" Froslass' eyes widened, as she was unaware of this fact. She looked around, and saw that only a number of her reflections remained.

If she still wasn't going to show herself, and with her ice kunai rendered ineffective Reflect, it was time to call a move that would force her hand, "Use Solarbeam."

"Chico!" Chikorita's leaf began glowing as it absorbed whatever light it could find. Past the mirrors, and in the distance, I could see light in the sky. After a long night of Froslass and her illusions, the sun was finally starting to creep on our side of the world, and dawn was on the horizon.

"Lass!" Just as I thought. Froslass surfaced from a mirror that was near the fallen Morana, and proceeded to launch a beam of ice at Chikorita.

"Chico!" Chikorita, while still absorbing energy, was able to avert some of her focus from Solarbeam to jumping in the air to avoid Ice Beam.

Froslass' beam wouldn't go away.

"Chi!" Chikorita was struck by the super effective beam of ice while in the air, and she was sent to the ground in front of us. "Chi…" Her focus was broken, like a Focus Punch.

"Are you okay?" Yumi attempted to comfort Chikorita.

"Chi…" She rose to her feet, shaking stray snow that was on her body. She continued to absorb energy.

"She's okay, but…" Yumi trailed off as she looked at Froslass, "We need to keep Froslass occupied while Chikorita prepares Solarbeam."

"I have an idea." I uttered.

I don't know how, but I was able to figure something on the spot. I knew the perfect way to grab Froslass' attention, albeit, it was a very unorthodox method.

"What is it?" Yumi asked.

I need not say anything, all Yumi needed to do was look at where my hand was going. Froslass has boasted all night about how she was going to freeze me into a trophy, and add me to her collection. She was going to make me a prize, and I was going to be the newest face, on the newest mirror of ice in Froslass' room…That malice was going to come full circle on her…as my hand grabbed a Pokeball.

Yumi looked the Pokeball, and then at me. We gave each other a knowing nod in understanding.

"Chico…" Chikorita continued to gather energy.

"Lass!" Froslass launched another beam of ice.

"Chi…" Chikorita was hit again, but this time, she stood her ground as she continued to absorb energy. The light of dawn was blanketing the night sky in the distance, and beginning to reach the Icy Mountains.

I took aim at Froslass. 'This Pokeball is going to keep Froslass occupied, in more ways than one,' I thought to myself.

Without warning, I threw the Pokeball.

"Lass?" Her eyes widened as the Pokeball hit her. The Pokeball opened, and it was as if she was forced inside.

The Pokeball landed on the ground, and on the ground, it started to roll. Using a Pokeball as such a diversion was so unorthodox, it completely overshadowed if a pokemon like Froslass would actually be caught.

"Chikorita." I called.

"Chico?"

"When Froslass breaks free, fire your Solarbeam."

Chikorita nodded in understanding.

One roll.

Two rolls.

Three rolls.

Yes, I was unprepared for such an occasion where this Pokeball would prove to be a success…What if I DID capture Froslass?

Nope.

"Lass!" Froslass broke free. It was so close.

"Chi!" This was Chikorita's opportunity. She did as she was told, and launched a beam of powerful energy at Froslass.

"LAAAHHH!" The light of the day beam was overwhelming, even more so with the many mirrors refracting it. Yumi and I found ourselves covering our eyes.. As the sky of dawn fully arrived over us, you could hear the Solarbeam knock the ambiguous illusionary witch out of Froslass. The scream of Yukiko began to fade, as did the many icy mirrors surrounding us.

The illusions of Froslass have come to an end, at long last, as a defeated Froslass fell to the ground.

The ice mirrors that remained untouched throughout this fight simply faded into nothingness, while the cracked mirrors shattered. Many smalls shards of ice fell to the snowy ground.

The ice kunai lodged in the back of Morana's neck began to dissipate, and when it did, it looked as though Morana was relatively unharmed, compared to the damage a real kunai could do. She began to stir. We could tell she was going to wake up in a few moments.

"The victims on the mirrors are not for display for Froslass anymore." Yumi said.

Pryce and Lord Tolbi…Guardian Bishop, Bisharp, Snorunt, and even Yukiko in her human form…they can now rest with Froslass defeated.

Froslass…the spirit of Yukiko. She was a talented kunoichi, capable of laying waste to everyone and creating her own graveyard. She was the Princess of Meiji City, and heir to the throne of Lord Tolbi…And she and I were 'engaged'. She got lost and died here on the snowy mountains, after killing Lord Tolbi, Bishop and Bisharp in battle. She was never put to rest, so she was forced to wander these mountains for eternity. Decades in the snowy mountains went by, and she eventually yearned for the lifelong companion that had been at her doorstep her entire life. She didn't want the companion in the form of many men proposing to her. No, she wanted love in the form of people like Pryce. It was too late for Pryce though, as he would've died from illness in Mahogany Town even if he never wandered to the snowy mountains. That left me, and well, this is the end result.

This, is the conclusion of everything that has happened in Mahogany Town. The conclusion must be concluded as well, and here's how I will conclude it-

-I reached for another Pokeball, and tossed it as a downed Froslass. We watched as Froslass was forced into a Pokeball for the second time.

One roll.

Two rolls.

Three rolls.

Click. Defeated, Froslass could offer no resistance as the Pokeball clicked shut, indicating that she had been captured.

I walked across the snow and picked up the Pokeball, taking a good look at it.

Froslass was mine. As Princess Yuki, she said she wanted to travel the outside world with me, and now, that was what she was going to get. In the end, her wish was going to come true.
