Pokemon Virus Version Chapter 131: Antidisestablishmentarianism

Author's Note

Good day. It's been a minute, hasn't it? While the wait for the next chapter was long, don't let it mislead you. I did NOT have Writer's Block one bit. I spent these three months getting back ahead on chapters. Get excited, because Virus Version is likely going to return to weekly/biweekly updates.

Previously…

This day began with Zero, milling the day in Violet City, while journeying to find his younger brother and sister. Zero was a loose person, and gave way to a rather lighthearted atmosphere. This lighthearted atmosphere would soon end, as Zero was located by Commander 12.

Immediately, 12 confronted Zero, challenging him to a fight, with seemingly more on the line than simple bragging rights in a long-standing rivalry.

Rivalry? Hmph. The fight was one-sided. While one side would lose the fight, the other side would lose interest in the rivalry.

Zero had found a greater purpose that pushes him further, and this upset 12. She'd beaten Zero on several occasions before, but now…12 felt as though she was getting left behind, and thus began her existential crisis as she began searching for her greater purpose. She searched, and found Zeno, Emboar, 19, and 21.

Together, the group of five formed The New Alliance. This New Alliance was led by 12, but followed the order of scientist Zeno, the mastermind.

In the Ruins outside Violet City, The New Alliance were tested by the Unown, in the form of an illusionary Entei. The New Alliance conquered the Unown, and gained control of their Spell. Using this spell, they crystallized all of Violet City, and their seizure.

Neo Snagem was on the brink of victory, but for 12 it was an empty victory. All the victories in her world were hollow if they weren't a victory against Zero. She soon struck out on her own, following a trail that would lead to him. When next they fought, she would have the Spell of the Unown and the aura of Shadow Pokemon on her side…

This left Falkner, facing an uphill battle for the city as he fought Emboar, 19, 21, Zeno, and Magnezone.

Neo Snagem had the number's game, but…21's hesitance and ultimate betrayal ultimately led to The New Alliance's meltdown.

The city of Violet was in shambles. Neo Snagem was so close, yet so far when it came to victory. The people were saved from Neo Snagem, but that was irrelevant to Commander 12…as she walked up the final flight of stairs before encountering Zero…

Location: Violet City Gym

The final flight of stairs were dark, like a tunnel. And at the top, at the very, was a door leading to the light. It was like a caged bird could ascend and fly out the door to the light-into a new beginning filled with freedom. But 12…even if she were to escape through the door, she would continue to be weighed down by mental demons.

"What greater purpose can I find?" She thought to herself.

"…" Chatot was perched on her shoulder, but remained silent. His silence was a rarity, but even he realized how much was on the line when facing Zero.

Commander 12, M.C. made it past the door to light, and found herself at the peak of the Gym. The entire city could be seen from where she stood. The light of the sunset making the crystallized ground glisten, it would've made for a rather beautiful sight had it not been for the many downed people. 12 did not care for the existence of such a view. The only view she cared about, was the one in front of her.

Zero stood in the center of the battlefield, but he was not alone.

"…" Outside of his Pokeball was a pokemon very familiar to 12. Almost as familiar as the all powerful Charizard. Lucario was silent, and his eyes were closed as he was concentrating.

Zero and Lucario were surrounded. Several grunts and Shadow Pokemon were aligned in a pattern that completely obstructed any hope Zero had for escape.

…If only Zero's intention WAS to escape, the grunts probably wouldn't be so uneasy right now. They had power in numbers, but when all is said and done, they're facing off against their former LEADER.

Every pokemon surrounding Zero and Lucario right now, they were Toxicroak. Their excited cries were audible. They were confident in their ability to quickly overwhelm and defeat Lucario.

"This is the end for you, Zero." The division Leader of the Grunts spoke up. Zero was no longer a part of Neo Snagem, so he didn't address Zero as a Commander.

"…"

1.

2.

3.

"Charge!"

"Crooooaa!"

"…" Zero and Lucario watched and waited as the Toxicroak surrounding them all lunged at them.

Lucario's eyes remained closed until the Toxicroak weren't too far, but not too close. "Rr." Lucario had been meditating, using his aura to detect the perfect opportunity to strike. His eyes opened, revealing a deep red color that could only have been obtained through many tough fights.

"Raaagh!" Seemingly out of nowhere, Lucario produced a large, staff like object, twirling it in the air at swift speed before planting his feet firmly on the ground.

Zero remained stoic. "You stand no chance against me."

Zero has a cause that pushes the limits of his strength, and that cause spread to the pokemon, and in turn, made them more powerful.

Lucario eyed the closest Toxicroak. "Rr!" He rose his staff and drove it down on the Toxicroak's head. Using the momentum from the drive, Lucario launched himself high in the air.

"Croak?!"

"He's fast…!" The Grunts knew Zero was strong. Problem is, he's STRONGER than strong. Thinking of Zero as 'strong' is an understatement. By this notion, Zero has been greatly underestimated.

Lucario, in the air, had selected his target Toxicroak. He shifted to position himself diving head first, at great speed.

"Cr-?!" Toxicroak couldn't react, Lucario was just too fast. Lucario, descending, struck the Poison type with his staff. Toxicroak went directly to the ground, and a thick cloud of dust was created.

"We mustn't yield!" The Grunt was trying not to be impressed by Lucario's skill. In his mind though, acknowledging Zero was undeniable.

"Keep charging!" Another Grunt cried.

"The seizure of Violet City is within our grasp!" The Division Leader assured.

But as the dust settled and cleared, the Grunts were greeted with a most troubling sight.

"Rr! Rr! Rgh! Raaaah!" Staff in hand, Lucario was slaying each and every Toxicroak. One by one, they fall, making for another battlefield of fallen soldiers…

One Toxicroak was struck in the torso. While another was swept off his feet. They were downed in one hit.

"Croak!" There WAS one Toxicroak, however, who was in Lucario's blind spot. Now was the perfect opportunity to damage Lucario and change the tide of this one-sided assault. A large needle on his arm became surrounded by a poisonous purple aura was produced, and it was intended to stab Lucario. His arm was destined to be stained by Lucario's blood.

"!" But Lucario need not look in the direction. Using the power of aura, he was able to deflect the attempted stab.

"Croak?!" Toxicroak's eyes grew wide.

"It DOESN'T have a blind spot?!" The Grunt questioned.

Lucario whirled around, knocking the Toxicroak to the ground.

"Lucario, let's finish them all." Zero opened his eyes. He could sense it, the Commander making her way to the battlefield…

"Rr!" Lucario obeyed his master's order. He allowed for his staff to dissipate into thin air, before making one more leap into the air.

"Croak?"

"Croak?"

"Croak?"

The remained Toxicroak halted their charge, looking into the sunset sky Lucario was in.

"…" Lucario knew what needed to be done. The sun was setting in the city, and the day of many people's judgement was coming to an end. It was time for the fight of Violet City to end as well. "Raagh!" Lucario roared.

Still in the air, Lucario started glowing a mysterious aura. He extended his palms straight down, in the direction of the many Toxicroak.

"Hm…"

Lucario began producing a sphere using the aura energy surrounding him. This was an Aura Sphere…for the moment.

"Rrrraaaaaa…"

The Aura Sphere then began to grow. It grew and grew. Until it was no longer in the shape of a sphere. In fact, its was incomprehensible. It was just massive aura energy being concentrated.

The Grunts, upon seeing this power, all began to waver in their determination. "What…what is that power…?"

"Division! We must retreat!" The Division Leader…he could see it in the eyes of his subordinates: Zero's power has taken away their drive to continue this assault.

No…this wasn't an assault. It was a massacre, with an added exclamation point once Lucario expelled the energy.

"…" It was at this moment that Commander 12 made her way to the battlefield.

"CROOOAAAA…!"

"NOOOO!"

The Grunts hurriedly attempted to escape, but Zero and Lucario were simply too powerful.

"Raagh!"

The scope of Lucario's blast was far too large to outrun. Here Commander 12 could see the many Grunts and Toxicroak being wiped out by a single attack.

There were screams, and there were blustering winds created by the aura's impact.

It was here, in the sunset, Commander 12's entire became bright light-the light of aura…The light was TOO bright. It was as if Lucario had wiped out the Division's entire existence, in this split second. Only one figure remained in 12's vision. It was the silhouette of a very familiar foe. His long, brown hair that spiked down to below his shoulder; that blonde bang that sticks out from the right side…

This figure slowly turned around, and as he did, the light of the aura blast died down, and Lucario descended.

Commander 12 and Zero…One time rivals, turned into allies by association with the organization. They once again stand on opposite sides of the battlefield as foes. How long has it been? Five years?

Silence was retained for a few moments as the two were engaged in a war of cold stares.

"Why did you do this?" Zero finally asked, "Why did you take the lives of so many people in this city?"

12 didn't respond immediately.

In her mind, she remembered what Zero said to her earlier, 'We were rivals some time ago, but those days are over.' He said, 'You'll never be able to defeat my resolve.'

"My resolve to surpass you…does it no longer make me strong?" 12 was beginning to think out loud, "If so, then where might I find a better resolve?"

"That doesn't answer my question." Zero had no patience for 12 going off on a tangent.

Whether or not she was giving Zero answers didn't matter to 12. She continued to think out loud, as if Zero had said nothing.

"I'm the reason why Neo Snagem almost seized Violet City. The moment I left The New Alliance, everything fell apart for everybody, and the city was able to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat…In other words, I was needed, Zero…" At this moment, 12 moved her hand, and reached for her own face. She caressed her vizor-like specs, before finally taking them off. "But that is a hollow victory to me. Even had I stayed and secured Neo Snagem's conquest of the city, that too would be a hollow victory."

It was the first time Zero has ever seen Commander 12's eyes…They were a beautiful violet color. The purpose of 12 taking off her specs was to show Zero these eyes. What did these eyes have in them? Pessimism? Jealousy or envy? No. What lies in 12's eyes, is the lack of a resolve that drives her past Zero.

"Finding a resolve that makes me powerful…THAT'S why I did what I did in Violet City today. And yet, my resolve still hasn't been found…"

Zero's face remained calm. However, his hand was now clenched into a fist, and shaking. "So all those people who were killed today…were their deaths meaningless to you?"

"…" If 12 was being brutally honest, then yes. The deaths of all those people meant nothing to her. But, there WAS one thing that came out of today… "I know now that my resolve does not lie within the confines of the organization," She started, "But that doesn't mean I'll up and leave Neo Snagem either. I'm on a personal journey to finish you, Zero. And until I find my greater resolve, I'll follow you to the end of the world if it means eliminating you."

In his mind, Zero took 12's words as a challenge, and braced himself. He was correct, as 12 took out a single Pokeball.

"So you choose to fight even though you acknowledge that it would be a lost cause?" Zero asked.

"No…I didn't say that." 12 replied, "But nothing is impossible. You no longer view me as a rival, but I pose a threat to this city, so you've no choice but to fight."

Zero readied a Pokeball of his own, despite Lucario still being out.

"Who are you to talk about 'lost causes' though?" 12's specs remained off her face, "You, who helped BUILD Neo Snagem from the ground up, work tirelessly to destroy what you've created. As long as I'm alive, your resolve to finish Neo Snagem is a LOST CAUSE. Because once you're eliminated by MY resolve, Lord Atticus is going to rechristen this world. The name of Zero will be long forgotten as I-as Lord Atticus and Neo Snagem-all live on for eternity."

"I don't care for whatever empty promises you make." Zero responded promptly.

"What?!" 12 furrowed her eyebrows at Zero's ignorance.

Zero's cause…

'Mother Flora…'

'Seth…'

'Rose…'

"I'm not the only one who plots to destroy the organization I've created," Zero stated, "There are a powerful few who have the resolve to not only speak against Neo Snagem, but to actively oppress the disestablishment of the current way the world is govern; Antidisestablishmentarianism."

"Uuuuuunooooooooown…"

"Uuuuuunooooooooown…"

"Uuuuuunooooooooown…"

12 was perplexed by Zero's large word enough to fall into silence. This made the voice of the Unown more audible.

Hearing the Unown, 12 was prompted to start the fight. She threw her Pokeball, and out came…

"-Veeeern!" The very Noivern who fought Zero before Neo Snagem happened to the city.

"Because I was the one to defeat the Unown's illusion, I now command the Spell of the Unown." 12 smirked. This wasn't like the fight before. Now, her cause was going to be aided by the Unown's Spell and the Shadow aura. "Whatever the circumstances for you fighting me don't matter now. Yesterday doesn't matter, tomorrow doesn't matter…The only thing that matters is now. Now raise your sword!"

Telling Zero to raise his sword, 12 raised her own sword, "Veeeeeerr!" In the form of Noivern becoming cloaked in the dark aura of a Shadow Pokemon.

Zero, at 12's words, threw his Pokeball into the air.

Lucario was on the field and ready to attack, but Zero had elected to go with a pokemon that could fight Noivern from the air.

"Rrgh!" Out came Charizard, whose roar into the sunset sky caused the singing Unown to freeze for a fraction of a second, before they began moving again.

"Uuuuuuuunoooooooown…"

Just the sight of that dragon-like lizard…it was enough to cause 12 to grit her teeth and narrow her eyes.

Commander 12 against Zero. Noivern against Charizard. In their last encounter, the gap in ability level was exploited by Zero, and Charizard quickly dispatched of Noivern. 12 remembered falling to her knees in the face of this loss. And in front of everybody. They admired Zero, and laughed at 12. She'd been humiliated. But now…

"Uuuuuuuunoooooown…"

With the Spell of the Unown aiding her, 12 controlled her own destiny when it came to defeating Zero.

She wasted no time going for the first strike.

"Dragon Claw."

Noivern roared into the sky, and cloaked its claws in the aura of a dragon. "Rgh." But then, the Shadow aura began appeared, giving Noivern more power.

"Vern!" Noivern had a thirst for vengeance, for its 'killing' at the hands of Charizard. It charged at Charizard with passionate speed.

Charizard knew not when the Unown would eventually play a direct role in this fight, but it wouldn't matter if he was able to eliminate Noivern as swift as he did last time. "Rgh!" Charizard decided to put his plan into fruition, as he cloaked himself in the very dragon aura of Dragon Rush that eliminated Noivern earlier.

Charizard charged, and based on history, Noivern had no chance.

"Vern!" Or did it?

Charizard charged at the same blinding speed as before, however, Noivern's eyes glinted, as he was able to react in time to counter. He flew right into the Dragon Rush aura's mouth, and from the inside, slashed Charizard from the inside.

"Ngh!" Charizard was sure Noivern would be quickly defeated, but was surprised when Noivern displayed the ability to react in time-something that was not previously present. This was one of the rare times that Charizard recoiled, and the Dragon Rush aura was cancelled as a result.

Even Zero was caught off guard. Perhaps Noivern has a resolve to not lose again…

"Veeeerrrrrrn!" Noivern roared into the sky.

Charizard remained in the air, gritting his teeth at Noivern.

"Veeerrrrrn! Veeeeeern. Ver…" Noivern stopped roaring as it gazed at Charizard. There was a certain ferocity that existed within the eyes of Charizard…

Noivern decided to use call upon the power of Dragon Claw once more, and again charged at Charizard.

"Rgh…" Noivern was coming, and Charizard felt it was time to raise his fists against Noivern's. "Rr!" Copying Noivern, Charizard summoned the power of Dragon Claw.

The incoming Noivern swung, and Charizard swung. The force of these two pokemon colliding created a wave of wind the brushed the hair of both Zero and 12. Both pokemon were pushes back, but kept Dragon Claw active.

"Vern!"

"Rgh!"

They charged at each other again.

"Vern!"

"Rgh!"

"Ver!"

"Rr!"

They began a series of strikes, blocks and maneuvers against each other. Swift, each attack was parried, intercepted, or avoided.

"Ver!"

"Rgh!"

"Vern!"

"Rr!"

They continued to duel it out, but it appeared as though both Noivern and Charizard were getting nowhere. Until-

"Veeeeeerrrrr!" Noivern began to glow the Shadow aura again.

The two locked fists again, and were stuck in a power struggle. Who's pure strength was superior? Noivern, or Charizard?

"…" Lucario, still outside his Pokeball, could only spectate.

"Verrn!" Noivern's Shadow aura grew stronger, and it was then that it was able to overpower Charizard.

"Rgh?!"

"VEEEEEERRRRRN!" Noivern had the drive, driving Charizard straight onto the ground. A huge cloud of dust was created. "VEEEEEERRRRN!" Zero could hear Noivern's roars while waiting for the dust to clear. "VEEEEERRRRN!"

"You…" Zero could also hear 12 speaking to him, "You haven't been holding back, have you? Is it because of you 'resolve' to save this city from the organization? Or maybe…?"

The smoke clear, and Zero could see 12's face. She looked to the downed Charizard, and then back at Zero.

"Maybe I've caught up to you, and all within a single day." 12 smiled.

"…" Zero could say nothing, and it was because of 12's FIRST guess. Zero knew that defeating 12 would be the nail in the coffin for Neo Snagem. But he never would've guess that 12 would catch up to him in the amount of time that it took. But HOW?! The Unown haven't even assisted 12's cause yet. Were they waiting for momentum to shift in Zero's favor?

12's smile disappeared, for she wasn't one to go off on any tangent right now. She looked to the many fallen Grunts and Toxicroak, then said to Zero, "You did all of this, yet I'm keeping up with you…"

"Rrr…" Charizard began rising to his feet, gaze straight on the airborne Noivern.

Noivern returned Charizard's gaze.

"Flamethrower!" Zero, with no intention of dignifying 12's words with a response, could only call out a single move.

Charizard, for the first time, was using a Fire-type move. From the ground, he launched a powerful stream of fire at Noivern.

Noivern was swift, whirling around the fire while whittling down the distance between it and Charizard.

"Vern!" Noivern successfully tackled Charizard, thrusting the Fire-type back toward Zero.

'…I've underestimated her…' Thought Zero, 'This is a fight for the entire city. Many unfinished lives are at stake, and if that's the case, I should be willing to do ANYTHING to tip the fight in my favor…'

With Noivern giving Charizard another staredown, Zero quietly eyed his other pokemon on the field.

"…" Lucario needed no words from Zero, or even a slight nod in approval. He could sense his thoughts using aura. Zero's thoughts told Lucario what he needed to do…

Lucario was able to summon his Bone Rush staff without turning the head of Noivern. He launched at Noivern, aiming to strike its head. Noivern was an easy target, and 12 took note of this as she saw Lucario move. However, she remained calm.

"Hmph."

"Rrgh?!" Noivern, without turning around, sidestepped to avoid Lucario's strike. Lucario was taken aback, and had to stop his own momentum in order to not strike Charizard. Lucario slid to a halt, as he and Charizard both looked to a Noivern now ascending to the air.

"Vern."

"You underestimate me, Zero," 12 said, "Did you honestly believe Noivern hadn't the skill to hear Lucario's admittedly nimble movement?"

Was Zero's intention to strike Noivern. Perhaps, but not as big as his intention to let 12 know that the fate of Violet City was worth well more than fighting a fair fight. He had no knowledge of how strong Noivern would be once the Unown decide to become a factor.

"Uuuuuuunooooooowwwn."

"Uuuuuuunooooooowwwn."

"Uuuuuuunooooooowwwn."

"Just like saving the city means playing an unfair fight, your downfall means beyond playing fair." 12 remarked, "However, I did not think you'd be the first to escape the rules, Zero. Is this a sign that you acknowledge me as a worthy opponent again? Maybe you've realized that this is the best opportunity I have to eliminate you, at long last." 12 smiled, as she took out a Pokeball. The excited anticipation was very visible in her eyes, "Let's see how long before the Unown are obligated to assist me. If you're willing to escape the rules of traditional battle, then I'll be MORE THAN HAPPY TO ACCOMADATE!" At these words, Commander 12 threw the Pokeball into the air.

"Hah!" Appearing high into the air, was a Pokemon of Commander 12 that didn't get to see battle when they were in Azalea Town, but made appearances nonetheless. It was 12's very first pokemon, "Haha!" A Chimchar, who landed on a flying Noivern's back. Both Chimchar and Noivern stared down at Lucario and Charizard.

"I am Commander 12-aka M.C, The Mistress of Ceremonies." 12 always hungered for fame in an effort to eclipse Zero's notoriety. She couldn't help but go into 'MC Mode' as she announced for Zero's defeat. "On this day, a long lasting rivalry will be settled once and for all."

Chimchar was as lively as 12's Chatot, but looks could be deceiving. Chimchar was unevolved, but was at a very high level nonetheless. Being M.C's first pokemon, Chimchar's flame was comparable to the flame of Charizard. Having fought Chimchar many times in the past, Zero knew to not let his guard down.

"Chimchar?" 12 gave the Chimchar a knowing look, and Chimchar nodded.

Chimchar inhaled, presumably preparing to launch a stream of fire.

"!" Zero, Charizard, and Lucario were all alarmed when Shadow aura seams could be seen accompanying Chimchar. A stream of fire powered by the dark aura was on its way.

Chimchar faced Lucario, giving everybody a hint as to who his target was.

"Char!" Chimchar launched the Flamethrower, which actually looked as powerful as a flame that Charizard was capable of.

Lucario knew better than to underestimate the power of this pokemon, as he swiftly summoned his Bone Rush staff. "Rr!" The flame closed in, and Lucario began twirling his staff with great speed. As if in slow motion, Chimchar watched as Lucario dissipated the last seams of fire.

"Vern!" Noivern roared. With Chimchar still on his back, he began charging at Lucario. Chimchar complimented this by producing another stream of fire, this time with seams of the dark aura. That's right, Noivern charged at Lucario, cloaked in a dark, flaming aura.

Lucario didn't flinch.

"Rr!" Noivern and Chimchar were headed straight for Lucario, but adopted annoyed expressions on their faces as they were intercepted by Charizard.

The clash of the two dragons sent sonicwaves through the sky, the ground beneath rattling ever so slightly. Both pokemon were sent backward.

Charizard needed to shift momentum in his favor before Noivern and Chimchar could be afforded the opportunity to use the Spell of the Unown, so he wasted little time producing a light teal aura around his claws as they protruded. Fearlessly, Charizard charged at the black dragon once more.

Noivern, not to be outdone, charged at Charizard once more. Again, he was aided by Chimchar. This time, Chimchar clenched his fist as it became surrounded with static electricity. This static electricity grew and grew, until it became a large fist in its own right. The fist looked as hardened as an Iron Fist.

Charizard versus Chimchar perched on Noivern. Who would win? At first, Charizard had the upper hand. Seconds later, Chimchar's Iron Fist began emitting the darkness of the Shadows, allowing him to push Charizard back. Charizard pushed, but Noivern had just as much strength. It was only when the static electricity spread to Charizard that Chimchar was poised to win this confrontation, as Charizard would be stricken with paralysis.

But…

"Arr!" Out of nowhere, Lucario appeared in the air, proceeding to strike Noivern. The black dragon faltered, causing Chimchar's Iron Fist to succumb to Charizard's strength.

Noivern fell at great speed, leaving Chimchar stuck in the air, descending at a slower pace.

"Rarrr!" Meanwhile, Charizard roared into the clouded sky, all but dissipating the static electricity around him. Charizard then surrounded himself in the aura of Dragon Rush, and was ready to finish what Lucario started-eliminating Chimchar.

"Vern!" But Noivern was able to rebound quickly. He regained his composure, and was able to catch Chimchar before Charizard could close in. But Noivern didn't stop there, flying right at Charizard as Chimchar launched a darkness-powered stream of fire.

Charizard halted his Dragon Rush, and avoided Flamethrower. Chimchar didn't relent, trying to make the stream of fire hit a Charizard maneuvering at a speed almost as imperceptible as when he battled Noivern earlier.

"…" Chimchar halted his stream of fire, gritting his teeth in frustration.

"Carr!" Lucario took this opportunity to begin producing a sphere of pure aura. It looked nowhere near as devastating as the giant Aura Sphere used to single-handedly eliminate an entire army of enemies earlier, but that wasn't the point. The goal was to be swift enough to hit Chimchar and Noivern, and allow Charizard to seize complete momentum. "Car!"

Noivern avoided the attack. The sphere of aura, missing its target, went astray. It was fast, and when it flew far enough to become invisible to the naked eye, it exploded. To create an explosion that could be felt from such a distance…Lucario was not holding back.

Lucario prepared another sphere of aura, and launched at Noivern. And another. And another. It didn't need to be perfect, it just needed to make the slightest of contact. Yet, Noivern was avoiding each and every sphere with ease.

Charizard was watching how much of a threat the spheres of aura were Chimchar and Noivern. Perhaps NOW was the opportunity to land a decisive strike on the enemy. For the first time, Noivern's attention was not on Charizard, and this was going to prove as a fatal mistake.

Charizard knew better than to summon the energy of Dragon Rush to surround him, because Noivern would be able to see it from a distance. Instead, Charizard charge at Noiven with nothing but pure power-a 'Tackle'…

"Vern!" Noivern avoided another sphere of aura that exploded in the distance. And another. And another. "?!" Until he was stricken by Charizard.

Once again, Noivern was sent diving at an alarming rate, leaving Chimchar to descend slowly. The first time Noivern was sent diving, he'd been charging straight ahead. But this time, he was so focused on avoid the spheres of aura, that his grasp on where he was in the air was not as keen. This time, Noivern crashed into the ground.

"Vern!" Noivern was still focused on Charizard, and tried to rise from the ground, but…

"Hmph!"

"Vern?!" Noivern's eyes widened. Standing tall, was a Lucario who'd summoned his Bone Rush staff one more. Lucario's staff was placed right on Noivern's wing.

Chimchar landed hard on the ground, and before he could attempt a push up to return to his feet, Charizard placed a foot on the monkey's body.

12's mouth hung agape. Noivern was immobile with his wing grounded, and Chimchar couldn't escape Charizard's grasp if his life depended on it.

"…" Just like that…Just like that, just when the fight seemed to be at its climax, it appeared as though…Commander 12 was defeated…right?

"…" The result was so sudden. Was Zero caught off guard by this unceremonious predicament as well? Maybe, but his face was as stiff as it was since the fight started.

"Vern! Vern!"

"Char…"

It appeared as though Noivern and Chimchar were wasting their effort now…

"It's over." Those were the first words to escape Zero's mouth.

"…" Still, Commander 12 was rendered speechless.

Even with her Chimchar paired with Noivern…even with the power of the Shadow on her side she still could not overcome Zero's resolve.

'…' She stared at her struggling pokemon '…I haven't found it yet, a resolve that will push me past Zero…But…I promised myself that until I find my resolve, I would continue to fight Zero. The fight can't end here…"

Yes. On this day, Commander 12 has began her search for a resolve that will push her past Zero. Now, she realizes that the resolve she searches for does not lie within the confines of Team Neo Snagem, nor does it lie within this city of defeated people. She cares not for the city snatching victory just when it seemed all hope was lost. All she cared about, was eliminating Zero once and for all. Her resolve does not lie here…but that shouldn't stop her from putting forth the effort.

'You never know…' Her eyes were beautiful as they slowly looked into the clouded, sunset sky. 'Despite everything I'm saying to myself…despite defeat once again appearing in front of me right now…today might be the day I actually defeat Zero. After all, I'm a flawed human capable of poor judgement, as is Zero…'

"It can't end this way, Zero." Those were the only words to escape 12's mouth…as the sky continued to sing.

"Uuuuuunoooowwwwn…"

"Uuuuuunoooowwwwn…"

"Uuuuuunoooowwwwn…"

Her lavender hair and periwinkle bangs blew in the wind, as the wind itself began to pick up.

Zero's hair was brushed by the wind as well.

"Uuuuuunoooowwwwn…"

"Uuuuuunoooowwwwn…"

"Uuuuuunoooowwwwn…"

"…"

The singing halted abruptly.

"…"

"…"

"…"

12 narrowed her eyes.

"UUUUUUNOOOOOWWWWN!"

Zero's jaw hung agape. It mattered not, how tough a person or pokemon was, the sharp change in the volume of the Unown's singing was enough to startle anyone. Even Zero, his pokemon, and the downed Chimchar and Noivern. It could be heard throughout the entire city, which was but a hollow of its former self. The deafening shrieks of the Unown reigned over the seemingly endless graveyard of defeated corpses. Very few were alive enough to feel the Unown's screams rattle through their ears.

"UUUUUUNOOOOWWWWN!"

"Maybe my desire to eliminate you is a resolve great enough to achieve victory now! ZERO!"

The words of Commander 12's stand reached Zero's ears, and behind those words, was the Spell of The Unown ready to unleash their power at long last.

"UUUUUUNOOOOWWWN!"

A to Z, and Z to A. Multiples of every letter and symbol became the center of Zero's attention. The sheer number of Unown floating in the sky seemed endless. How many Unown exist? When they were brought here from their own dimension, were there any who stayed behind? And if so, did 12 have the power to summon them here? The Unown were such an enigma, and Zero had no clue how to stop them.

"UUUUUUNOOOOWWWWN!"

The Unown each began glowing a mysterious white aura, their eyes emitting the same color. THIS, was only the beginning of their Hidden Power: it began to sprinkle lightly, soaking the many downed bodies on the streets of Violet.

Something mysterious happened. One of the defeated people…an orb of light could be seen phasing out of his body. It was light blue in color, and it began floating in the direction of the Unown atop the Violet Gym. Next, an orb of light that was pink in color could be seen phasing out of a young woman's body. She was beautiful and could attract many of men. But her beauty wasn't enough to keep her pink orb of light from gravitating toward the Unown. Then, there was a small child. He was still in the bloom called youth…but he no longer lived. Without a will to live, a orb of light phased out of his body and began making its way to the Unown.

The Unown were gathering the energy of all the fallen…!

Those fortunate enough to still be living could witness this gathering of energy for themselves.

…..

"Zeno." Commander 19 called.

"…" Zeno was in no mood to speak, following his failed attempt to seize control of the city. "…" He was riding atop Magnezone, while Commander 19 followed.

The group was heading west.

"Boar…" Emboar followed close behind, addressing Zeno with calm authority.

"Hmph." This time, Zeno answered. "It appears she's utilizing the Spell of the Unown."

"Do you think we should go back?" 19 asked.

Zeno let out an exasperated sigh, "For all intents and purposes, Commander 12 is no longer a part of the organization. While she remains a valuable asset, she acts according to her own whim. Our battle was lost the moment she left The New Alliance. Now…"

"Now….what?" 19 waited for Zeno to finish.

"Now, we wait for Zero and 12 to finish their fight. Afterwards, we'll return to Violet City and seize control." It was a new plan, courtesy of the Mastermind of the now dissolved New Alliance.

Yes, surely Atticus wouldn't procrastinate claiming Violet City while in a state of turmoil. Commanders 12, 21, and Zero were beyond Neo Snagem, but in the end, the organization's goal has been aided.

Zeno, thinking this, smirked slyly.

…..

Falkner didn't know what to make of this. Thousand of ended lives, forced to offer their light to the Spell of the Unown…

"Brm?" He, Dragonite, and Pidgeot were in the middle of organizing these lost bodies. Preparing to give them all proper burial in the morning…

The three were accompanied by Hope-formerly Neo Snagem's Commander 21. "Should we go up there?" He asked.

Falkner shook his head, "The young man fighting 12, he's very skilled. He'll emerge victorious. For now, we need to tend to these people. I'm certain there will be a few survivors. Keep searching."

Hope gave an affirmative nod. "Yes."

Orbs of light coming from the thousands who've died…these lights have all gathered to surround the Unown. The seemingly countless lights merged to form a large, single light that was rainbow in color. Charizard and Lucario still had Chimchar and Noivern grounded. The pokemon, Zero, and 12 all observed…As a stream of the Unown's Hidden Power was launched.

"Lu?!" The stream was launched at Lucario. His eyes widened in alarm, as this stream looked to be devastating…But in focusing on the Spell of the Unown, Lucario's grounding wavered, and at that precise moment…

"Rr!" Noivern seized the moment to free himself from Lucario's grounding.

Lucario had no time to recapture Noivern, as the stream of rainbow energy was headed straight for them.

"Hmph!" Lucario leaped, while Noivern performed a huge flap of his wings to avoid the attack.

Lucario had every right to be alarmed, for when the Unown's stream of energy closed in, a huge explosion was created by the impact. This wasn't any ordinary explosion coming from a single pokemon for pure sport. No, this was an explosion of energy coming from seemingly millions of strange creatures that this world knew nothing about. The explosion was so great, Charizard, Lucario, and Zero all found themselves being blown back.

With this, Charizard's grasp on Chimchar was broken. Chimchar was freed, and wasted no time jumping on Novern's back before the explosion cleared.

The hair of Zero and 12 blew violently.

"UUUUUNOOOOOWWWWN!"

When the smoke cleared, Zero was paralyzed by what he saw. "?!" With the power of everyone's light, the Unown used their Spell to not just strike the ground, but destroy it.

The center of the battlefield was collapsing. Zero's eyes widened in alarm. 'I…I've never witnessed such power.' Zero knew that with the battlefield collapsing, it was only a matter of time before the entire roof of this Gym would collapse.

Commander 12 knew this as well.

"Vern!" 12 hopped high into the air, and allowed for Noivern to catch her.

"Let's see you escape this, Zero…" Noivern ascended to a higher altitude, allowing for 12 to watch and learn how Zero escapes.

"Ngh…!" Zero could feel the very foundation of this building begin to cave. It was like flying a plane into a tower: Nothing was going to be left once the Gym falls. With the ground shaking like an Earthquake, Zero knew he needed to be swift.

If 12 was on her dragon, then Zero should follow suit.

"Charizard!" The collapsing of this Gym was becoming loud-loud enough for Zero to have to scream at near the top of his lungs.

"Rm!" Charizard quickly turned to see Zero racing to him.

"UUUUUUNOOOOWWWWN!"

There was no need to panic, as the Gym was collapsing at a slow enough pace for Zero to escape unscathed…That was, until the Unown launched another stream of light at them.

Just like that, the building itself began falling. Walls breaking, an imaginary ceiling destined to be broken, and the real floor below Zero cracking and separating. Debris was blown. Zero covered his face a continued charging through, but the ground below him…it broke of completely from the ground Charizard was standing on.

"No!" Zero screamed, causing Commander 12 to smirked. Zero was helpless, and he was about to fall to his end.

"Hmph!" But Lucario would have none of this. Just as Zero was closing in on landing to his death, Lucario grabbed him by the wrist. It was a last stand to save the life of Zero, but they weren't done yet. Lucario, with Zero grasped, needed to escape before the rest of the broken Gym could collapse on him.

Lucario's eyes glinted. He leapt into the air, landing on a piece of falling debris that used to be one of the Gym's flight of stairs. Lucario swiftly ran up the stairs, footwork as fast as a ninja's. He jumped again, this time landing on a small, descending surface. "Lu! Lu!" From surface to surface, Lucario jumped. As the Gym descended to a pile of rubble, Lucario and Zero ascended to the fight that awaited them in the sky.

Finally, Lucario gave one final leap of faith. Remaining in the air for some time.

"Rr!" It was then that Charizard intercepted the two. Just as Chimchar and 12 were riding on the back of Noivern, Zero and Lucario were now riding Charizard.

"…" Zero looked down below, where all the broken pieces of what used the be the Gym hit the ground. A huge cloud of smoke was created. "The Hidden Power of the Unown…"

"What? What is it you're going to say about this power?" When it appeared the chaos of the Gym collapsing was behind them, Noivern had descended to Zero's level, allowing 12 to hear him thinking to himself out loud. "It's amazing, isn't it?"

Zero faced 12, gritting his teeth. The look on 12's face? One would predict that she'd have a look of utter confidence on her face following the display of power from the Unown. No…12 knew better than to let her guard down against Zero. Her focus was retained.

"This question has floated in my mind since we last fought, and I feel it may be important for you to echo: Do I need a greater resolve in order to defeat you? The answer…" As 12 said this, she closed her eyes, and…

"UUUUUUNOOOOOWWWWWN!"

As if on cue, the Spell of the Unown was once again making its presence felt. The sunset was beginning to pass, giving way to the night. And in this night, the Spell of the Unown began engulfing 12, Noivern, and Chimchar in a bright, rainbow light. They were brighter than the stars appearing in the sky.

"Ngh…" Noivern felt uneasy, like he was gaining great power. The rainbow light engulfed him completely….This light grew and grew, until Noivern's being was no longer visible. No longer was 12 riding on her trusted Dragon. The Dragon she and Chimchar were riding on, was colossal.

"!" Zero was astonished. The Spell of the Unown were using Noivern as an embodiment of their power. This was a rainbow dragon made of pure energy, and it was the size of at least ten Charizards put together.

"ROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR!"

"The resolve of the Unown is more than enough to end you!"

"ROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR!"

This was the last effort of 12 and the Spell of the Unown, and Zero knew it. However, their combined power making this giant dragon of energy was still formidable. Zero needed to find a way to defeat it.

"ROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRR!" The rainbow dragon launch at Zero, an apocalyptic beam of pure energy.

"Rr!" Charizard was caught off guard, but needed to react fast nonetheless. The apocalyptic beam was massive. Charizard managed to just barely get out of the beam's absurd attack range. He, Zero, and Lucario watched as the beam hit the ground, causing a massive explosion.

"Lu…" Lucario was stunned when the smoke from the explosion disappeared. That apocalyptic beam…did it singlehandedly drive through the entire surface of the Earth? No, but the crater was still very deep. It was as if you could see the vast darkness of outer space in the crater.

Zero continued staring at the seemingly endless crater, until he narrowed his eyes, realizing what needed to be done, "We need to send the Unown back to their dimension…" The Unown, as long as they were bunched together in seemingly infinite numbers, were unbeatable, but that was okay. Zero didn't NEED to beat them. In order defeat 12, he needed to fight smarter, not harder. "Charizard!"

Charizard nodded, knowing what needed to be done turned around and started away from 12 and the Unown as fast as he could.

"?" 12 was bewildered, simply staring at the Charizard before her gaze drifted…to the Unown Ruins, "He's trying to escape to the Unown Ruins. Hmph, the Spell of the Unown will make sure that doesn't happen!"

Commander 12, the rainbow dragon, and the Unown all began pursuit of Zero. Yes, 12 had the upper hand, but she hadn't an idea of what Zero was actually planning.

"ROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRR!" The rainbow dragon launched another apocalyptic beam in Charizard's direction.

Charizard, focused on what was in front of him, needed the eyes of Zero and Lucario. Zero and Lucario commanded Charizard to move upward.

"Rm!" Charizard avoided the attack, but more damaged ground was created in the wake of the apocalyptic beam. A giant gash, seemingly endlessly deep, was created. This left the Violet City's outer forest ravaged.

Following the missed attack, 12 commanded the Unown and rainbow dragon to race ahead and intercept Charizard.

"ROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRR!"

"Ngh?!" Zero gritted his teeth, as the rainbow dragon was now in front of him.

Charizard took caution, easing the momentum in his flight.

"ROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRR!" The dragon held off on the apocalyptic beam, instead charging at Charizard head on.

This rainbow dragon was made of pure energy used by the Unown. Without a doubt, Zero concluded that making contact with such energy would be a detrimental mistake.

"Dodge!" Zero yelled.

Charizard, perceptive, was able to swiftly glide to the right, avoiding the rainbow dragon's devastating charge. Charizard followed this up by launching a stream of fire at 12.

The dragon roared into the sky, and took the stream of fire head on. It either looked like the flame was being absorbed, or it wasn't inflicting any damage whatsoever. Seeing this, Charizard halted his flame and continued flying in the direction of the ruins.

Commander 12 and the rainbow dragon once again tried to charge at Charizard. "ROOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRR!" This time, from behind.

Zero, Charizard, and Lucario knew that 12 and the rainbow dragon would anticipate a dodge. It was risky, and they weren't sure it was going to work, but they were gonna have to intercept the dragon head on.

"Lu!" Lucario, from Charizard's back, jumped high into the air, and eyed 12. "Lu…" He put his hands forward and began producing a sphere of aura. Moments later, the sphere of aura grew and grew, until it was no longer of any specific shape-it was just enormous. It was as big as the Aura Sphere that eliminated the Toxicroak.

12's eyes widened. Would Lucario's power be enough to repel the Spell of the Unown?

The dragon flew right into Lucario's focus of mass aura.

"Ngh?!" The dragon remained relatively unharmed, but was still taken aback by such energy. It was almost blinding…blinding enough for Charizard and Zero to create some separation.

"Lu." Lucario calmly landed on Charizard's back, and the trio were in perfect shape to make it to the Unown Ruins and execute their strategy…

Location: Unown Ruins

'As long as I can get their on time…' This was what rang through Zero as the three proceeded into the ruins. Despite the ruins offering a lack of maneuverability due to the limited space, Zero and Lucario stayed on the back of Charizard. Before they could get too deep into the first cavern…

"ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR!" You could hear the rainbow dragon destroying the entrance as it continued chase. Being left in the rainbow dragon's path, were ravaged remains of ancient ruins that had remained dormant for centuries. The rainbow dragon was a product of the Unown's Spell, so the case could be made that the Unown were responsible for the destruction of their own ruins.

Despite Charizard creating separation, it was only a matter of time before the rainbow dragon would close in again. The embodiment of all the rainbow opened its mouth, as if preparing to feast on Charizard.

Commander 12 smirked.

Zero, Charizard, and Lucario were about to be engulfed by the dragon, like a predator ready to feast on its prey.

'Almost their…' The thought rans through 12's mind, as she was about to eliminate Zero at long last…But the thought also ran through the mind of Zero, as the chamber containing the Unown tablets was within reach.

Who was going to prevail?

In the midst of all the chaos and destruction, their heartbeats were audible…

"Rr?!"

The rainbow dragon's energy clamped down on Charizard's tail. Unbelievable…This couldn't be…Charizard was captured…But not before getting close enough to the Unown's Chamber of tablets for Zero and Lucario to jump off just in time.

Zero landed on the ground, and looked back to a captured Charizard, "Charizard!"

"Lu!" By the time Zero and Lucario called his name, it was already too late. Charizard…he was engulfed by the rainbow dragon, just like Noivern. With two dragons to act as a means of directing energy now, the Unown and their rainbow dragon were nearly unstoppable.

"ROOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR!"

This was it! The rainbow dragon was now preparing one more beam of apocalyptic energy. The apocalyptic beam was more powerful than ever. Zero…he had no way of avoiding such an attack.

"Lu…" But Lucario knew what needed to be done. In order to restore peace to this world, Lucario… "Lu…" Lucario stepped up.

"Lucario…" Zero whispered his name.

Lucario was a wise pokemon. He knew that he stood no chance against the Spell of the Unown, and yet…he was still act as a kamikaze, or a martyr. Zero didn't question Lucario, all he did was nod in understanding. This, was their last chance…

Zero faced what was in front of him. It was now, or never. If the Unown tablets weren't tapped into now, the world would fall to darkness.

"ROOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRR!"

As the rainbow dragon launched an apocalyptic beam, the question had to be asked: Was Lucario staring into the face of death? No. Lucario closed his eyes, now ready to make his final stand.

"You are all that stands in between me, and victory over Zero…" 12 whispered.

It was a losing fight, but that didn't mean Lucario wasn't going to put forth a dying effort. "…" He summoned his Bone Rush staff, and rushed, charging into the apocalyptic beam. When he swung his staff, the apocalyptic beam would be minimized enough to where Zero couldn't be reach.

Lucario swung, while Zero found the sarcophagus containing the Unown tablets. Endless letters, and endless possibilities lied within this sarcophagus, but there was only one outcome Zero desired now…

Lucario…mere seconds after striking the apocalyptic beam, the energy of the rainbow dragon cme overflowing, overtaking the Aura pokemon. The Spell of the Unown began absorbing Lucario, just as it did to Charizard and Noivern, and the light of many people.

"Hmph…" But before Lucario was fully absorbed, he eyed Commander 12 and gave her one last expression. "Mm." A smirk.

That was that. Lucario and Charizard, absorbed by the Spell of the Unown, were defeated. All who remained was Zero. Oh, how Commander 12 was about to savor the moment. After five long years of living in the shadow of Zero, she was finally in the midst of ultimate victory. From the day one of their pokemon journey, to the Pokemon…to Neo Snagem, to today…

"Whatever happened yesterday no longer matters. All that matters is now…" 12 said to herself, "Today, the resolve of the Unown has driven me past Zero." Five years ago, she was but a girl still in the bloom of youth, still oblivious to the world around her. This naïve girl, which laid dormant inside her for so long, surfaced as 12 smiled. "It's time…"

"ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR!" At 12's final words, the rainbow dragon roared, and began charging at Zero one last time. "ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR!" This last charging was filled with 12's passion…

But little did they know…

"…" Zero turned around to face 12 and the charging dragon, and…

"!" 12's eyes widened as clear as day, with a sudden uneasy written all over her face.

Zero…as he turned to face 12, he was spotted with the sarcophagus-the one 12 used to summon the Unown from their dimension.

"N-no…!"

"Your effort to try and defeat me was valiant. You were almost successful, but…" Zero paused, waiting for the rainbow dragon to close in before opening the sarcophagus, "…But in the end, my resolve to defend the world from Neo Snagem has prevailed!"

"ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR!"

Commander 12 desperately wanted for the rainbow dragon to stop in its tracks. But even her, who conquered the Spell of the Unown and earned the right to command its power, was unable to keep the Unown was recognizing where the stone tablets which control them. 12 when from crying for victory, to desperately pleading to the rainbow dragon, to stop. It was a complete 180.

"ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRR!"

The sarcophagus began to glow as the rainbow dragon closed in. As it inched closer, the many orbs of light that composed the dragon began to separate. One by one, the orbs of energy were reverting to their normal, singular state.

"No…NO!" 12 fell to the ground, and immediately rushed to Zero. Her last hope was to take the sarcophagus by force. Like Zero said, it was a valiant effort of behalf of 12. It just, wasn't enough…Zero avoided her charge, and just like that, 12 found herself on the ground once again. "NO!"

The rainbow dragon had dissipated, the Unown reverting back to their normal, lettered forms. They energy of the lives of the man fallen were freed. As were the pokemon involved in this fight.

"Rr…"

"Lu…"

Lucario and Charizard, while in a weakened state respectively, watched with satisfaction.

"Char…"

"Vern…"

Chimchar and Noivern were also freed. They watched helplessly, as their energy was used up by the Unown.

How long did it take for every Unown to fly into the sarcophagus and return to their own dimension? Not long enough for 12, Chimchar, and Noivern to retaliate.

"…" Zero stood there as the last Unown disappeared, and the sarcophagus ceased glowing.

This was it. The New Alliance was defeated. The Spell of the Unown was defeated. Commander 12 was defeated…Violet City was defeated…

Zero sighed. He stood victorious, but it would be incorrect to call this a victory.

"Thousands of innocent people have died today…" There will be no parade to thank him for his heroics. No feast or celebration of any other sort. It wasn't even bittersweet. It was just…disappointing. Zero couldn't help but let out a long, exasperated sigh.

The Ruins were ravaged, and Zero looked to see the night being born. In the sky, stars began appearing-stars that looked like the orbs of energy belonging to all the fallen.

"You can all rest in peace, up there…"

There were no winners today. Just, many conflicts that remain unsolved.

"…" And there, on her knees, was a defeated 12.

Zero looked to the fallen Commander, without a hint of pity in his eyes. "You still lack a greater resolve."

The line between evil and innocence was very thin today. Commander 12 acted not as a member of Neo Snagem, but as a human seeking to accomplish a goal. In a way, she was just like any innocent pokemon trainer setting out on a journey. If only she didn't seek the Spell of the Unown to aid her cause…

12 has acknowledged within herself that she is a human capable of being persuaded by her own state of mind, and Zero knows this. 'Would Seth have gone this far to defeat me?' He thought to himself. Did Zero see 12 the way that he sees his younger Brother? It was a foolish thought, but one that Zero could not help. Might 12 be able to reclaim her long lost innocence? Perhaps, and it was because of these thoughts that Zero…

"Farewell…Once you find your greater resolve, we'll fight again." Zero showed mercy to her.

He left, hoping that 12 would one day leave the organization of her own will. Her goal no longer lies within Neo Snagem. Her goal to defeat him drives her to become stronger. It was the same with Seth. Could Zero persuade Seth and 12 to end their grudges, and fight alongside him to defeat the organization? That was a question yet to be answered…

…As Zero disappeared, continuing the search for his brother and sister…

That left Commander 12. "…" Defeated, she remained on her knees long after Zero disappeared. "I lost." Even with the Spell of the Unown, even using the energy of the many fallen, she could not defeat Zero. Earlier, she expressed that she didn't have a greater resolve yet, but would continue to fight until that day comes. But the bitter taste of defeat was much different this time. This time, she was teased with a victory that was within her grasp. For a moment, she led herself to believe she didn't need a greater resolve to defeat Zero. What an illusion. Her illusionary vision came crashing down around her, as she once again failed to defeat him. "I lost…again."

It was just her, and the fallen Chimchar and Noivern. All the pokemon could do is watch, as their trainer let out all her pent up frustration.

"AAAAAGH!" Her fists were clenched and trembling, and she repeatedly struck the ground in said frustration. "DAMN IT! ALL THESE YEARS! ALL THIS PROGRESS! DOES IT MEAN NOTHING?! DAMN IT!" Her eyes were as fierce as a dragon…But then they grew soft, sorrowful.

Was it a crime for her to show human emotion?

Those sorrowful eyes had the slightest hint of tears beginning to creep their way out. They glistened under the stars, "…It irritates me…His existence irritates me to no end. It makes me angry, and sad at the same time."

12 looked into the sky, and in that sky, she could see a shooting star in the night. It was time to make a wish.

She couldn't give up now.

"I will destroy Zero, even if it kills me."

To Be Continued…
