Location: The Realm Between

The vessel that was Seth's body began transforming. The mask of a skeleton was now being worn on his face, with his right eye still exposed. The black jacket he wore was now being worn like a cape. And his black long-sleeved turtle-neck shirt was now ripped from the abdomen down, revealing ghastly skeletal ribs. He right arm was also completely skeletal bone. His dark blue jeans now had small rips throughout, and the Reaper's Scythe he held began transforming. The weapon now had a second blade.

"Chi…" Chikorita was spooked. Her trainer looked like a walking skeleton.

"In this realm which separates Hell from the world of the living, I have manifested the power of Hell through Death himself," He spoke of the burning Dusknoir corpse which stood in front of him, "The empty Dusknoir which stands before me failed to prevent me and my cause from pushing forward to destroy Neo Snagem. My prize for overcoming Death, is the power of death itself. Combined with my darkness, I have effectively ascended past all others who have been gifted Shadow powers by the world's 'virus version'. This is…"

Darkness – Grade 2

"Chi?"

For a second, Yukiko was disturbed. Or – well, disturbed wasn't the right word. She was perplexed by this side of her trainer which she'd never before witnessed…Yukiko was no stranger to delivering judgement. She'd spent centuries taking the lives of men, after all. "Who are you?" She asked, "Seth? Or Fear?"

He simply remained where he was, his black coat-like cape blowing in the wind. He removed what was now his Reaper's Scythe from Dusknoir's empty corpse. He didn't answer Yukiko's question, which left Yukiko and Chikorita wondering: Was Seth's will conscious through the actions of Fear?

The corpse of Dusknoir fell to the ground. The Reaper's red eye, which had been severed, began glowing a blinking red energy. "Hm?" This caught the attention of Fear.

'Foolish mortal.'

"Chi?!" Chikorita was astonished. That voice…it couldn't be…

"Is that corpse still alive?" Yukiko asked.

The corpse of the Reaper began to stir. Fear could've quickly corrected this by using his what was now his Reaper's Scythe to pierce Dusknoir's spirit…But he had other plans. 'Perfect.' Fear's composure didn't waver in the face of Death still being 'alive'. In fact, Fear looked forward to it.

'You cannot kill Death.'

"Didn't think so." Fear's eagerness began to surface, "It would've been a shame for you to die here. Now…" He flexed the Reaper Scythe's new form, "I am the manifestation of pure evil, and you'll be the perfect opponent for me to test this new power. Rise, so that I can slaughter you."

Chikorita trembled, to the point of turning away from her trainer. She didn't want to take in the bloodshed that was in store.

'I will personally drag you down to Hell, where evil will devour your spirit.'

The mouth on Dusknoir's empty body – the mouth which housed the Portal of Death which sent Seth to the Realm Between in the first place – began opening. Inside was another portal. Seth could see havens of fire inside.

"Hell…"

The Reaper emerged from the depths of Hell, brandishing another Reaper's Scythe.

Another figure emerged from the portal. And another. And another.

Fear's eyes narrowed.

He knew these figures.

25, and 23…they looked similar, sporting a buzz cut, as well as wearing the Neo Snagem uniform of a dark red vest, grey shirt, black pants and black boots. A Mightyena shrouded in dark energy stood in front of them.

24 held a video game console, ready to use his virus power to send Fear to a video game arena in which he couldn't possibly win. Shadow Gliscor was his pokemon.

20 wore a mask, but he wasn't dramatic like he was when he was alive. The time for theatrics was over…Hawlucha stood before him.

There was another girl…someone Seth was not familiar with. She had short black hair. She wore black leggings, black boots, a skin-tight grey t-shirt, and a black vest. The number '22' was plastered on her vest's breast pocket. Shadow Ariados was ready to do battle.

…These were the Neo Snagem Commanders who have been eliminated and killed off. Of course, there were a few other Commanders who have been eliminated, like 18. Fear fought 19 and 21 as well. He didn't know it, but they'd recently returned to try again at taking over Violet City.

The Commanders that stood before him…they were all dead…but none of their deaths were at Seth or Fear's hand. 24 in particular was defeated by Chapel, not Seth. Perhaps the organization disposed of these Commanders after Seth emerged victorious in their battles.

'Those who have been damned by you have come to drag you into Hell.'

The Neo Snagem Commanders were just the highlights. Countless of history's worst of the worst came through that portal, all ready to do battle with Fear.

From warlords, to leaders of other evil organizations, to female Pokemon Hunters with short silver hair…

Yukiko readied her kunai, ready to fight alongside Fear. "Let us do battle-"

"-Stand back." Fear interrupted her.

Yukiko was perplexed, and then smirked. "So you're trying to look cool? Typical of men."

"Hmph." Fear kept his gaze on the army of evil which stood before him. He picked up his Reaper's Scythe and perched it on his shoulder.

"Don't hurt yourself, sweetie." These were Yukiko's last words before allowing her trainer to do battle.

It was going to be Dusknoir's Scythe versus Fear's Scythe, but only if Fear could defeat the army which stood before him.

'This is the man who has passed judgement to you. Either through the guise of Fear, or through pure evil itself, which inhabits all the world of the living.'

"He looks almost as he did before," 24 said, "The Reaper's Scythe and skeletal bones don't scare us."

Fear's eyes remained hardened, as his blonde bangs and black hair blew in the breeze. "It appears delivering me to Hell hasn't gone as planned." He addressed Dusknoir, "Why else would you bring these fools from Hell to do your fighting?"

Dusknoir grunted.

"You don't believe you'll defeat me. Is that it?" Fear already knew the answer.

Duksnoir hastily directed 22 to launch an attack. 22's Ariados, to be exact. "Hn!" It launched a Spider Web that covered much radius.

Fear dodged, landing in front of a puddle which displayed his faint reflection. This surprised 22, as well as everyone else on her side. Seth and Fear had never met 22. There's no way he could've anticipated Ariados' attack so easily…This wasn't anticipation. This was simply his skill level and ability to quickly react. "This is the end for you."

Dusknoir, the Commanders, and all of Hell's inhabitants brought to the Realm Between watched as Fear made his first move, running toward them.

23 gritted his teeth, while a sweat ran down the face of 25.

In response, the first wave of opponents started reacting accordingly, running right at the charging Fear.

His first attack would be a precursor of what was to come, as he motioned the Reaper's Scythe off of his shoulder, using it to lead the first charge…that would tear through the first wave. Many bodies went flying, all of them bloodied and motionless.

They were killed upon impact.

But…how could you kill people who were already dead? Their souls will seize to exist, and they will never be able to reincarnate back into the world of the living. It was a harsh reality for those meeting their end…but maybe this was for the best. This would ultimately end their suffering in that fiery Hell once and for all.

Once the first wave of people were erased from existence, everybody else hesitated. Fear took it upon himself to swing the Reaper's Scythe in a crescent moon motion. This killed several more people.

"He…he's powerful…" 20 was almost speechless.

"He won't stop attacking even if everyone tries to retreat." 23 said, "We have to kill him before he kills us. Go Mightyena!"

Mightyena lunged at Fear.

The Reaper's Scythe was swung in Mightyena's direction, but Mightyena lowered his body, sliding on the ground to avoid the attack.

Closing in on Fear, Mightyena pounced with a devastating Crunch attack. His teeth bit into Fear's skeletal arm. It seemed as though Mightyena's grip was impenetrable, but the skeletal arm started emitting purple flame.

In a panic, Mightyena released his grip and leapt away from Fear. But it was too late, Mightyena's fur was burning. It was a Burn more intense than one that would be caused by a Flamethrower or Will-O-Wisp. It was enough to promptly defeat the Dark type.

The Hawlucha owned by Commander 20 was the next to step up, charging forward.

/Fear readied the Reaper's Scythe and attempted to pierce Hawlucha into the ground.

Hawlucha avoided the Scythe by performing a baseball slide. "Lucha!" Hawlucha slid right in Fear's direction, kicking him into the air.

For a second, Fear winced.

Hawlucha jumped into the air as well, and began dealing high speed, high impact blows to Fear in the form of kicks, Power-Up Punches, and Wing attacks. He sent Fear crashing back down into the ground.

Fear laid there, unable to react in time for Hawlucha's next attack.

Hawlucha struck a pose flying down. It was his signature pose of Flying Press.

Fear's unmasked eye widened.

Upon impact, a cloud of dust was created.

"Hawlucha…" 20 called out, "Did Hawlucha defeat him?"

When the smoke cleared, everyone's mouths hung agape.

There was Hawlucha.

"…"

Hawlucha was lifeless…hanging from the Reaper's Scythe.

"Fool." Fear muttered.

"Damn it!" 20 cursed. 'He pointed the Scythe upward to intercept Flying Press!'

It was a critical mistake that cost Hawlucha his existence, as his entire being began to turn into dust.

As Fear rose to his feet, everybody began taking cautionary steps backward.

"He's too powerful…" 22 trembled in fear.

"Defeating Commanders who are already dead is a waste of time." Fear's voice was cold and distant. "The Reaper's Scythe is thirsty for blood, and I'm ready to return to the world of the living."

The dark aura surrounding Seth began getting out of control.

"Gliscor!"

"Dos!"

Both Gliscor and Ariados gave in to their instincts as Shadow Pokemon and charged at Fear despite his immense power.

"Hmph." He didn't blink…

"Scor?!"

"Dooo-d-d-d-dooo?!"

He used the Reaper's Scythe to clip Gliscor's wings, and puncture Ariados like a common household insect.

"Scoo-or-or-or-rrr…" Gliscor's vision began to fade to black, as his entire being faded away.

Fear's display of power was chipping away at the confidence of Dusknoir's army. It was written all over their faces.

"…"

"…"

"…"

Fear lunged at the entire army.

This was no longer a Pokemon battle, nor was this a war. This wasn't a struggle, nor was this a resistance. This…was mass slaughter at the hands of pure evil.

"Agh!"

"Ack?!"

Fear defeated his enemies, one by one, at great speed.

"N-no…no please!" He showed no mercy, even to those who got on their knees and begged.

"Don't kill me!"

"Ack!"

Fear then prepared a signature maneuver. While the army's bold souls charged at him from all directions, Fear repeatedly swung the Scythe in a circular motion around his body. This in turn created purple flames which spread everywhere.

"Gah!"

"Oh…ohah!"

"No!"

Everyone was set on fire. But Fear wasn't content with letting them burn for eternity. Instead, he took it upon himself to pierce every burning body, one by one. Blood was beginning to stain his skeletal mask.

24 gritted his teeth. "Looks like I have no choice!" Out of all the Commanders who've been sent to Hell, only 24 had the Shadow powers of the virus. It wasn't Darkness Grade 2, but it was still their only means of possible survival.

Meanwhile, Fear had set purple fire to even more of the nameless grunts fighting on Dusknoir's behalf.

24 took out a video game console – a Nintendo 3DS to be exact – and prepared his virus power to trap Fear in his game.

An electrical cord was launched in Fear's direction.

"Hm?" While Fear's left arm was nothing but skeletal bone, his right arm was still fair game. 24's electrical cord made contact with Fear, and began using its virus power to dissolve into his body.

Intense electrical energy began coming from the cord, as Fear began gravitating toward 24's console.

24 smirked, "So it worked after all." He was going to trap Fear in a game where there was no hope of winning. If the game goes game over, so does Fear's life.

Just before Fear could make contact with the console, he held out the palm of his skeletal hand. He let the electricity coming from the cord lodged in his other arm circulate through his body, before pointing his skeletal hand like a lightning rod. "Hm!" Fear touched the cord, redirecting the electrical energy right back at the console.

"No…" 24's heart skipped a beat. The electrical surge supercharged the 3DS to the point of overheating. The console's circuits were fried.

Lightly, Fear landed in front of 24, readying his Scythe.

"Damn you…"

The Reaper's Scythe had energy for a single electrical slash.

24 was stricken. Presumably, he was killed on contact just like all the others. But 24 had some last words. "Daa-a-amn y-y-you…" He is existence began fading, "D-d-damn you to Hell…"

Aside from Dusknoir, 24 was the biggest threat…if you could even call him a threat at all. The other Commanders and their pokemon were already defeated, as well as every member of Dusknoir's army.

'You are a formidable foe…' This was all the Reaper could whisper.

In a way, the thirst for blood from the whispers of the apocalypse had been satisfied. For one person to defeat an entire army…Seth with Darkness Grade 2…he was in another league compared to the any darkness he'd previously faced.

"Seth is victorious. Or should I say Fear?" Yukiko had seen the entire fight firsthand. What did she make of the display of power just now? Probably still not put off.

Fear turned to Yukiko and Chikorita.

"So you were able to back up your tough talk after all." Yukiko gave him a wink, "Just so you know, I'll make sure you don't step too far in the ways of pure evil. I plan on having you all to myself, and I'll keep you from losing all of your humanity." She had a smarmy undertone to her voice, "You're still the embarrassingly indifferent boy we know and love inside, you know."

Fear didn't dignify Yukiko's words with a reply. Seth's will returned as he faced Chikorita, who was cowering in fear, facing away from the bloodshed. The pure evil in Seth dissipated, and his facial expression grew soft. "Chikorita…" He then turned to the last enemy standing. "Dusknoir."

No matter how merciless Fear was, it was Dusknoir who stepped outside the normal parameters of the normal battle they agreed to. Fighting in the Realm Between Hell and the world of the living…Seth attaining Darkness Grade 2….and all of the bloodshed…they were all Dusknoir's fault.

"I've won this battle," Seth said, "Send us back to the world of the living, now!"
