"What is happening?" Midoriya asked himself as he looked down in fear and concern.
Several bolts of lightning crackled and snapped throughout the pier causing many of the civilians to recoil in fear.
Much to Midoriya's shock though the lightning started to gather together in a very strange and unnatural manner.
"Shit! Use your quirk quickly Uraraka!" The boy shouted aloud as a large electric attack was shot at the ferris wheel forcing it off balance.
Now on high alert Ochaco stole the gravity from the ride they we're just on rendering it in midair.
Midoriya readied himself to act and with the use of his quirk jumped from compartment to ground and back again pulling civilians from them.
"Everyone get to safety as soon as you are able to!" He yelled out as he did.
"Of course! Thankyou young man!" An older gentlemen exclaimed while ushering his grandchildren from the danger.
After Midoriya had ensured all of the civilians had gotten to safety he looked over at Ochaco.
"Everyone is safe now! Get down from there please Uraraka!"
The gravity heroine nodded in agreement and jumped down onto one of the tents before sliding off and onto the pier.
Midoriya ran towards the floating and forcibly detached ferris wheel and pushed it away until it was over the sea.
"You can deactivate your quirk now Uraraka!"
Ochaco ran over to the boys side and touched her fingertips together allowing the ferris wheel to fall into the sea.
"Was that really a good idea? You could be held responsible for the damages." She asked in concern.
"If you had deactivated your quirk while it was above the pier then the weight would have crushed the boards and risk sinking the platform. This was the safest course of action I could think of... and besides..."
With a troubled expression the boy turned his attention behind them causing Ochaco to do much the same.
"I think we have a bigger problem."
At this point it was all too clear that the trouble they'd fallen victim to was produced by a quirk.
The lightning bolts began to compress in a very unnatural way and take shape into someone else entirely.
A blue spiky haired man dressed in black leather from head to toe with white skin and red eyes formed from electricity and looked at the two heroes.
"That was pretty badass! You gotta tell me how you guys pulled that shit off!" The man said with childlike excitement.
Midoriya could feel his eye twitch in anger as he looked at the blue haired man. He stomped over and grabbed him by the coat.
"Are you serious?! What the hell is wrong with you?! You could've killed dozens just now!"
The blue haired man was surprised at first but eventually became slightly annoyed as he pushed the boys hand off and backed away.
"Easy there squirt. Let's get to know each other better before you get all handsy. I get rather bashful around strangers afterall." He dryly teased with a shit eating grin.
The green haired boy only looked at him in confusion and stunned silence.
"My name is Koi Kyoki. I was hired to cause a little chaos tonight! I ain't no cerial killer... but I don't mind knocking off a few civi's here and there." He continued with a smug tone.
Midoriya's frustration boiled over and he threw a powered up attack at the electric user.
It was a fruitless endeavor though as the man briefly disbursed his form and reappeared in the air looking down on the boy.
"Its clear now that your not just some louzy misguided punk. You won't be hurting anyone else tonight Villain!" He yelled as he jumped forward.
The electric user smirked while charging up an attack and sending the boy flying back crashing towards the ground.
Ochaco caught him just in the knick of time though and allowed him to steady himself.
"Not bad kid, maybe with about 15 years of training you might be able to tickle me." Koi taunted before vanishing.
Midoriya struggled to his feet while feeling a bit numb from the attack.
"Hes gonna be a tricky foe Deku, we won't be able to win with just some telegraphed brute force." Ochaco said to the boy.
"I know that, but we can't leave that lunatic to his own vices. We must act immediately." He said while running forward.
Though very clearly worried Ochaco didn't hesitate to follow her friend into the fray.
As they looked to see the villains abilities at play Midoriya grimaced at the sight around him.
"That's Right! Scream For Me You Mindless Corporate Pissants!"
Koi had nothing to hold back it seems as he sprayed bolts all over the place damaging everything he touched and imparting terror upon the hearts of the panicking innocents.
Midoriya looked around and noticed many things. Civilians trapped by the damages caused by the villains quirk, flames spreading throughout the wooden surface of the pier, and the terror filled screams of people who only minutes ago were just trying to enjoy a tranquil and beautiful evening.
"Uraraka! Take that oversized cauldron prop and use it to extinguish the fires! I'll work on opening some distance between the villain and the civilians!" The boy commanded.
The gravity heroine looked over and saw the cauldron, she ran to it and used her quirk to mobilize it before grabbing it and rushing down to the water.
Midoriya turned his sights towards the villain and fired an air force blast at him.
Contrary to his expectations Midoriya was pleased to see it actually hit the electric user and force him tumbling back almost a dozen feet.
'That's good, he has to consciously act or react in order to disperse his body throughout the environment.'
Koi grunted in pain and looked to find the wise guy with the balls to do such a thing, he soon found his gaze fixed on the young hero once more.
"Not bad kid! Your like me aren't you? A bit on the crazy side."
The villain cackled as he prepared another lightning blast for the boy. As he fired it off Midoriya was quick to counter with his air force canceling the attack midair.
Taking the offensive Midoriya leaped from the tent into the air and kicking up a gust of wind right before the electric user forcing him to float back a little more.
"Don't you dare compare us! I'm a hero! I protect those in need! Your just senselessly hurting people!"
As he landed back to the ground Midoriya promptly fired another air force blast at the villain.
Koi saw it coming and tried to disperse but lacked the speed and was subsequently hit yet again forcing him back several feet.
He looked down with an amused smile, but beneath the cocky grin a feeling of rage was building inside of him.
"Looking back in retrospect it makes sense you'd be one of those lame brain heroes with a stick up their ass."
Utilizing his rage the blue haired hooligan grunted in discomfort as he let his lightning crackle across his body and course through his form.
Noticing that a likely powerful attack was coming Midoriya immediately fired one more air force strike at the villain.
Koi let out a howl of rage and pain as he shot forth another blast just in the nick of time.
A lightning blast far stronger than the one that felled the Ferris wheel effortless overpowered Midoriya's air force.
Every instinct in the boy's body was screaming at him to dodge.
Though he staved off the brunt of the blow by jumping away Midoriya was still hurt by the electricity splashing away from the point of impact causing him to land painfully on his back.
He looked up to see a hole in the pier that could fit two or three whole cars within it at once.
'That most certainly would have killed me if it managed to land directly.'
The boy looked up at the airborne villain and made note of his opponents state.
Koi was heavily panting in exhaustion as beads of sweat fell from his pores.
The exhausted villain began to peel off his leather jacket revealing his lean and pale form covered only by a black tank top.
He proceeded to let the jacket fall to the pier ground as he tried desperately to regain his stamina.
'Dammit! Big blasts are very painful to produce, I shouldn't have let this brat get under my skin like that.'
Both the hero and villain were surprised as Koi took a barrage of wooden shots from the side only causing him further pain.
Midoriya looked over to see Ochaco holding a fair sized wooden pillar. The brunette promptly dropped it and shut off her quirk before running to the boy's side.
"The fire's are out now and many of the civilians have evacuated, but some are still trapped in the debris."
The boy pulled her closer and whispered something into the gravity heroine's ear.
Ochaco's eyes widened in surprise at first, but as she saw how serious her dear friend was she couldn't help but smile and give him a determined nod before running off.
"I'll get everyone out! Just be careful Deku!"
Feeling reassured by his friends role Midoriya turned his attention back towards the exhausted and weakened villain.
Prepared to finish him he jumped from another tent and closed the distance once more.
"Don't count me out just yet goody too shoes!"
Koi dodged the boys midair strike and grabbed him by the neck before preparing to slam him into the ground.
"Your good kid! Really good! But you've also pissed me off pretty badly! So I hope your prepared to die!" The electric user angrily said while choking the boy on the way down.
Midoriya groaned in agony as they finally hit the boards causing them to crack beneath the impact.
Koi was still strangling the boy however as he held a sadistic and gleeful expression.
"Hehehehe. That's it punk! Look into my eyes as you draw your last breath!" The man laughed maniacally but was cut short as he coughed up a bit of blood.
The boy thrashed and flailed in a fearful panic as he felt the deranged lunatics cold and calloused hands wrapped firmly around his neck with killing intent.
His desperate eyes flickered down to the man's lower torso area where he noticed several cuts and lacerations and a particularly large hole in his side where a piece of wood sat within his intestines.
Hope and hesitation filled the dying boy, but in the end for just one moment. Desperation and survival instincts overpowered his better nature.
Midoriya violently pulled the piece of wood out of Koi's stomach causing him to grunt and flinch in pain.
The boy angrily and fearfully looked up at the enraged man before digging three of his fingers into the hole in his stomach.
"Aarrrhhh!!!"
Koi looked down to see the boy shoving his fingers as deep into the side of his stomach as he could and instinctively removed one hand from his neck in a desperate attempt to free himself of his own suffering.
Midoriya ceased the opportunity to grab his other hand and desperately pry it off with all his strength.
Once free of the electric users choke hold he removed his fingers from the wound and kicked the man off of him.
Both weary opponents laid in pain as they tried to recompose themselves while Midoriya waited to catch his breath.
He looked down at his completely blood soaked fingers in regret knowing full well he practically tortured an injured man just to try and ensure his own survival.
"Hehe... I-I... k-knew y-you... were crazy kid."
The guilt and regret faded from the boys eyes as he stood and looked over at the villain with deadly seriousness.
"When we were in the air you opted to dodge my attack instead of dispersing your body to reappear elsewhere."
Koi grimaced upon hearing this as he himself stood up while holding his bloody stomach in pain.
"It would have been far more advantageous to do so, you could have electrocuted me from one of my blindpots and brought me close to death... if not just outright killing me."
The electric user growled in frustration while backing away from the young hero.
"Your running out of steam aren't you? And once you do your powers become limited and less versatile."
Out of sheer anger Koi raised a hand and shot a quick lightning blast at the boy.
Midoriya grit his teeth in pain while blocking the hit, but all his foe really managed at that point was to push him back a few feet.
Much to Koi's confusion the boy nodded in some sort of affirmation pointed at his direction.
In the following moments Midoriya prepared to charge at him and was quickly closing the distance in little time.
Intending to fly away to safety the electric user was surprised by a firm grip on both his arms and looked back in fear.
"One for All One Percent."
Minimizing the power output of his quirk Midoriya delivered a fierce palm strike to the villains chest.
Ochaco released the villain whose breathing was forced out of regulation by the last attack where he was left heaving and coughing uncontrollably and fell to the ground.
"D-damn... Y-you."
The two heroes looked down at the villain who eventually passed out from the culmination of his injuries and blood loss.
Sirens could be heard in the distance as everything else went silent. The once magical atmosphere of the starry night was now filled with smoke and damage.
Midoriya rolled the unconscious villain onto his back and he pulled his shirt off and covered the still bleeding wound.
"Get to the entrance quickly. Bring one of the paramedics over as soon as possible." He said in a quiet and somber tone.
"On it!"
Ochaco quickly ran off to get help as soon as possible leaving Midoriya alone with the unhinged electric user.
"Hah... Hah... W-what... hap-"
The villain grogily woke up and was interrupted mid sentence by his own coughing.
"Try not to speak, your at serious risk of dying from blood loss."
Koi looked up in confusion as he heard a familiar voice. He was met with the sad green eyes of the same boy he'd nearly killed.
"W-what...a-are... you... doing?"
"What does it look like? Trying to keep you alive." He coldly responded while pushing down on the wound.
The electric user only stared in bewilderment and confusion before laying back against the wooden surface in exasperation.
"Your... much... crazier... than... me."
Sometime later and Koi's condition was stabilized leaving him to be rushed to the Tartarus medical ward.
The two young saviors sat together outdide of the pier entrance. Both with a somber look on their faces.
The surrounding area had been blocked off due to the damages and many of the paramedics were hard at work tending to the civilians who had been caught in the crossfire.
Midoriya looked at his now clean hand, but he could still see the blood like it had never left to begin with.
Deep feelings of shame and guilt could be seen within the boys eyes.
"I nearly killed him Uraraka... his blood was on my hands."
Seemingly in no better of an emotional state the brunette looked over at the boy.
"In a fit of desperation I used an unorthodox and unethical tactic to preserve my own life... What kind of hero rumages around inside of their opponents intestines just to get the edge?"
Tears began to fall from the boys eyes as he gently sobbed into his own arms.
Ochaco felt her heart sink deeper than the Mariana Trench upon seeing him in such a pitiable state.
"I know that must've been horrible to go through... but your not solely at fault for what happened back there."
The girl reached out and rested a hand on the sad and weary boys shoulder while looking at him with a somber expression.
"My attack also had unintended consequences that even now could prove to be his undoing. Though it wasn't intentional... I put that hole in his stomach... If his blood is on anyone's hand then it's mine. Not yours."
Suddenly garnering their attention Tsukauchi and Toshinori approached the two young heroes both with troubled looks on their faces.
"Forgive me Midoriya, I know your not in an emotionally ideal condition right now... but I need to know for the sake of the investigation. Did the villain say anything that could disclose the nature of his motives?" Tsukauchi calmly and professionally asked.
Midoriya wiped away his tears and took a deep breath in an attempt to calm his nerves. He thought about it long and hard as he replayed every aspect of the encounter until a ping of realization lit up within him.
"He mentioned that he was hired. Not for anything specific or grand it seemed. Like his job was to cause destruction itself."
The two older men looked towards each other in surprise.
"Tsukauchi. Do you think it could have been a diversion?"
The black haired man rubbed his head with a troubled and contemplative expression.
"Its possible. According to their route that Hassaikai drug convoy was set to pass right through this area... Even so, that doesn't seem like Chisaki's style. He's patient and pragmatic. Doesn't like to cause a scene or waste valuable resources on a gamble."
Midoriya stood up from the sidewalk but flinched as he did so.
"Careful Kid, you nearly broke your spine in that fight. If your going to play a part in the upcoming raid then you'll have to rest as much as you can." Toshinori said in concern while helping the boy to keep his balance.
The boy offered a brief smile of appreciation before his saddened look returned and he hesitantly reclaimed his seat on the pavement.
"Well. Either way, that does help. We're just going to have to see what we can get out of the villain during interrogation."
Just as Tsukauchi was about finished another man came over. He looked to be an older gentlemen dressed like those of the high class.
The man promptly turned his attention towards the two young heroes.
"I am Mr. Umibito. The owner of this pier. I wanted to have a word with you two, who seemed to be central participants in the conflict that ensued tonight."
Midoriya and Ochaco gulped in nervousness and fear as they expected the worse.
"We're so sorry sir. I swear we only wanted to help. Please be lenient in the punishment." Ochaco desperately begged while clasping her hands together in front of her.
One would surely expect that the business owner in question would be furious and given the mans stern expression it seemed all the more likely.
"I can't thankyou kids enough. You've no idea just how grateful I am."
The owner bowed in respect as Ochaco had just started rambling on but was silenced by her shock in an instant.
"But we didn't exactly help mitigate the damage all that much. Are you sure we're worthy of your gratitude?" Midoriya asked nervously.
"Oh absolutely. Had you heroes not been here at the right time then that chaos worshipping scoundrel would have surely been able to kill dozens and destroy the pier in minutes." The man insisted.
The older gentleman reached into his lavish coat and pulled out two plastic card like slips.
"Here, I want you to have these. Life time passes that will give you free entrance to my beloved pier. I know it's not much, but please regard them as a token of my appreciation."
Midoriya remained uncertain as to whether or not he was deserving. He was about to give it back when he was met with the owners sad looking puppy dog eyes.
Not having the heart to demoralize the poor guy Midoriya reluctantly forced a smile and accepted the gift.
"We'll be sure to come back once you've finished the repairs and held the grand reopening." The boy said as he caved.
"Splendid! And please let me thank you once more! I sincerely hope you young heroes have a smooth recovery... but I have much paperwork and calls to make in order to get the repairs underway. Tah Tah for now."
The owner waved while walking away and leaving the heroes alone for the time being.
"Well. You kids are free to return to UA now if you wish. I only had that one question." Tsukauchi said while also leaving.
Toshinori looked down at the kids with a concerned frown across his face.
'I have never seen either of them this glum... just what exactly happened back there.'
The blonde man reached into his pocket and grabbed his keys before turning to the two and unlocking his car.
"Come on kids. I'll drive you back."
Midoriya and Ochaco nodded in understanding before standing up and getting into the vehicle.
As Toshinori started the car and proceeded drive away the boy leaned back in the passenger seat letting out a pained and exhausted sigh while closing his eyes as he waited for them to get back to UA.
And that's the chapter, hope everyone enjoyed it.
