(Somewhat lengthy authors note incoming, it's regarding short term writing plans, but you can just skip to the non bold text if you want to dive right into the chapter)
Well here we are at my take on the Hassaikai Raid. I didn't initially plan on releasing this until I finished all chapters pertaining to it in hopes of wrapping it up nicely. In other words, I don't want to release them individually and paint a picture that contradicts something that might happen later and force me to retcon something, there are many factors to take into consideration when dealing with so many characters at once, but I decided to publish the first part so I can relay this message.
I got another story idea and wanted to tackle a new kind of genre. This story will be heavily shipping oriented and full of angst while also involving Pony to a great extent, but it is also like nothing I have ever written before. It is going to be cursed and cliche, I am excited for that reason, I know in my bones this is the story nobody else would ever think of writing over the course of our collective lifetime. I mean yes, the premise is far from original, but the ship is so random and hilariously pointless that it is bound to boggle the mind. All the more reason for me to take up the mantle.
Now I don't want to leave anything up for misinterpretation here, I have loved writing this story and can't wait to keep working on it. I feel responsible for keeping the Izuku x Pony hype going strong, but the new idea is also getting me in a creative and sadistic mood, it's filled my thoughts all day.
I already have several of the Hassaikai raid chapters ready to release, but I'm not done yet. The reason I'm mentioning this is to assure everyone that it will be coming out soon, but since I'm working on that other story as well there may be a small chance of delays.
That being said, I don't think there will be. I haven't felt this motivated to write my fics since I first started out. I may even be more motivated than I ever was, the main point is that if delays do happen to arise, the other story might be the reason. Anyways, that is all, hope everyone is having a good new year as well.
Midoriya stood outside of the Hassaikai compound with the many other heroes that had agreed to come along to aid Sir Nighteye.
'The day has finally come... Eri. I will save you.'
As the anxious boy tensed up he was surprised to feel a warm hand gently grasping his own. He turned to see Pony looking at him with a sweet and encouraging smile across her face while holding a black satchle bag at her side.
"We're gonna get her back, don't you worry about a thing."
Feeling mildly reassured by his friend's support Midoriya took a deep breath and exhaled in order to calm himself down.
He watched as the cops approached the door cautiously expecting anything could go wrong.
"Once they've read the warrant, then your free to move. Im counting on everyone to act swiftly."
Right as they were about to ring the doorbell a giant villain suddenly burst through the door forcing back many of the police force.
Izuku was quick to catch one of the cops that had fallen back and rested him against the sidewalk while Aizawa caught two more in his scarf.
"Are you alright?"
"I think so, thankyou." The officer said in pain.
The villain looked around in annoyance at the sight of all the heroes.
"What do ya want. Its too early for visitors."
The heroes looked on in frustration and prepared to fight.
"How do they already know were here?" Rock Lock asked in annoyance.
"No time for questions. Lets go!" Another hero said while using his quirk to prepare a sword from his hair.
"Thats good. I'm waking up a little."
The large villain reeled back his fist and prepared to strike, but as he did Ryuku transformed using her quirk and intercepted his attack while forcing him to the ground under her giant claw.
"Listen to me. We shouldn't split up too many of our forces yet, the Ryuku agency will take care of this villain. The rest of you go!"
"Let's support Ryuku." Nejire said to the girls while moving in to help the dragoon hero.
"You heard her. Everyone move, come on!" Fat Gum yelled out.
Listening to the Ryuku agency everyone barged in through the door as fast as they could.
"This is the heroes and the police! We have a warrant to search your premises on suspicion of manufacture and sale of illegal drugs!"
Everyone pushed through while many of the cops stopped to wrestle with and apprehend a multitude of small time thugs who stood in the way.
"Quickest Route! Let's go! Get to the girl!" Fat Gum yelled.
The heroes soon made it into the hideout and continued onward while looking around.
"Haven't seen any signs of suspicious activity yet." The BMI hero said while looking over his shoulder.
"Yeah bro. Same here, but hey. Were in it now, we got no choice but to see it through." Rock Lock responded.
"Is it possible that someone leaked our plans for the raid? There must be a reason they all came pouring out like that." Tamaki said in a speculative manner.
"No, if there had been a leak, I think they'd be fighting more cohesively. Groups like this are used to working together." The police chief said in disagreement with the possibility.
"Theres nothing that matters more to these guys than their bond with their boss and their brothers, being part of the underworld only makes loyalty that much more sacred to them. All those people outside but we havent caught sight of the top brass yet. There probably underground hiding, getting ready to flee." Aizawa said.
"How is that supposed to be loyalty? Forcing their henchmen to fight for them while they run away isn't manly at all." Kirishima said in anger and disgust at the yakuza's methods.
As the heroes continued onward Nighteye took the lead while recalling something he picked up using his quirk.
"This is it. Theres a device here that opens a hidden passage, you press down the floorboards in a specific order and then..."
Just as the former sidekick paused the wall opened up revealing a secret passage.
"Its like a ninja hideout. How cool." Bubble girl said in childlike amazement.
"Thank goodness for your quirk Sir. Guards up, we dont know what we might be facing in there." Moashi advised cautiously.
Only further validating the centipede hero's concern a trio of villains popped out from behind the door.
"Bubble Girl! You handle the third!"
Moashi easily restrained two of the villains as the blue skinned girl wrestled down the third while one of her bubbles from her quirk popped in his face effectively rendering his sense of sight useless.
"Sorry. We'll make sure these guys dont follow. You go on ahead." She said as she pinned the villain to the ground.
"You heard her." Nighteye said.
The heroes and police all pushed forward deeper into the base until they were stopped by a wall.
"It looks like a dead end."
"So much for your foresight Nighteye."
Mirio stepped forward while taking off his helmet.
"Hang on. Let me go take a look."
The blonde ran up and phased his head through the wall to see what was on the order side.
'I knew it. The path continues just like Nighteye said it would.'
He pulled his face out and looked back towards his allies.
"The hallways just been blocked with this wall. Unfortunately breaking through is not gonna be easy."
"If he did this, then it's gotta mean where on the right track."
"Yeah your right, but he's an idiot if he thinks a dumb wall will stop us."
Kirishima charged towards the wall while hardening his fist.
'One For All Full Cowling Shoot Style.'
'Red Gauntlet!'
With little issue the two boys smashed the wall apart clearing the path ahead.
"We need to keep moving." Mirio said while walking forward with a look of seriousness.
Yet again the rescue force proceeded but soon enough things took a turn for the worst as the walls, floor, and ceiling all started to shake uncontrollably and unnaturally.
"Whats going on?!"
"Everything's twisting."
"This is someone different. Maybe Irinaka. Chisaki's quirk can't do something like this. Irinaka's quirk mimic lets him enter objects and control them as he would his own body. He must've gone into the concrete in the halls down here and made this a living maze."
"It shouldn't be possible on this scale. Hes not supposed to be able to control anything larger than a damn refrigerator." Rock Lock said in frustration.
"Remember who we're dealing with here. Dollars to donuts hes using a performance enhancer. I was ready for just about anything but I didn't expect the whole building to turn against us. Still, controlling something this big has gotta be waring the guy out. Eraser head can't you stop him?" Fat Gum asked as they stumbled around in warped path.
"I can't do anything without seeing his real body."
Amijiki started to panic a little as he thought of how Overhaul might escape with Eri.
"With the passageway shifting and changing like this, they can create as many escape roots as they need. We have to think quickly if we want to catch them. No, who are we kidding? They're gonna escape with the girl and we're all gonna die down here."
"Tamaki!"
Much to Amijiki's surprise Mirio put his hand on his shoulder.
"No way that's gonna happen. Understand? You can do this Suneater. Besides, this is just a stop gap. They can warp the path forward if they want, but as long as we know the direction of our goal I can still reach it."
Mirio started to run forward with the intention of taking the lead so he could scout ahead.
"Lemilion!"
"Come back!"
The blonde didn't listen though, his thoughts were focused solely on the mission at hand.
"Speed is what matters right now, those guys know it too. That's why they're stalling for time. I'm going on ahead!"
As he watched from the walls Irinaka retained a shit eating grin. Apparently far from threatened by Mirio's quirk.
"Slipping through the walls huh? Oh well. Even if he does reach them, what will he be able to do by himself?"
As he disregarded Mirio, Irinaka proceeded to open up a hole in the floor causing everyone to fall through before closing said hole.
"Now where are we?" Midoriya wondered in confusion.
"Somewhere even farther from the target. Those guys are really screwing with us." Rock Lock said while standing up in frustration.
"Well, what have we here? Looks like some state authorized thugs crashed our party."
The heroes all looked over where they were met with a couple of villains. One with blonde hair and a sword and the other one bald with a white mask.
"Isn't that strange?"
"These guys are obviously ready for a fight. Let's see how long petty criminals can last against the strength of a pro." Fat Gum said while cracking his knuckles with a confident smirk.
He looked over in surprise though as Amijiki raised a hand to stop him.
"Pro's should save their strength for when we reach the target."
Amijiki started to recall one of the countless times Mirio encouraged him and found the motivation to act in the service of the mission.
"These guys just want to slow us down, go on I can handle them myself ."
"You don't have to, we'll work together." Kirishima insisted.
"Please everyone stay. I'll kill you all." The blonde villain said while readying his sword.
"Setsuno! We can't use our guns on him, it's up to the proes."
"You've done your homework. Oh well, that just means I'm free to let lose!"
Aizawa prepared himself to counter as Setsuno dashed forward.
"Think again! Lay down your sword!"
"My quirk!"
The sword weilder stopped in his tracks while looking at his hand in shock.
While Aizawa continued to stare at the two, the other villain pulled out a gun and aimed it at the hero.
"Power Erasure. He's an inferior version of Eri. I'd heard that a hero with your abilities existed, but our job is to slow you down. Quirks or no, we still have fists and weapons."
Fat Gum stepped forward as it became abundantly clear neither side would back down.
"Fight all you want but swords and bullets just sink into my body. You have no hope of beating us so why even bother?"
"Big talk! But you just sound scared to me!" Setsuno taunted.
Amijiki jumped forward and bound the two villains within his tentacles.
'Toya Setsuno. Quirk, larceny. Yui Hojo, crystallize. I read all about these guys in the briefing.'
The manifestation hero slammed them against the wall while destroying their weapons in his other hand.
"I can take these two on. I ate tons of tokuyaki at the fat agency, so octopus has become one of my specialties and you know, I gotta say I'm pretty down on guns since I was shot in the street."
Midoriya, Kirishima, and Tetsutetsu all looked on in shock as Amijiki tossed away the broken weapons.
"Hold on Suneater." Kirishima said with concern.
"Its not smart for all of us to fight them. They want as many heroes stalled here as possible, let's just give them one."
The villains rose to their feet while looking at Amijiki with a sickeningly amused smile.
"We should save all your quirks especially Eraser Head's for later. You'll need to be operating at one hundred percent to get through those moving hallways."
For a brief moment the room went dead quiet as Fat Gum stared at his normally anxious protege in stunned silence.
"Fat Gum! I know this is something I can do on my own!"
"Let's go! Through that door!"
Deciding to trust in his subordinates abilities Fat Gum lead the remaining heroes out of the room.
"Amijiki, you have to move fast. Beat them before they can fight back." Aizawa cautioned.
Midoriya prepared to leave as well while Amijiki slammed the villains back against the wall.
"Before you go!"
The boy looked back in surprise as his senior seemed to have one last thing to say to them.
"You have to take care of Mirio. He's definitely going to try too hard, so please keep him safe."
Once again the heroes were on the move in pursuit of Eri.
"Fat Gum! Your gonna leave him alone back there?!" Kirishima wondered in fearful concern.
"He's from your agency, so I left the decision up to you, but are you sure he can handle them?" Rock Lock asked while looking back at the BMI hero.
"I have faith in him, he's stronger than anybody here. His only weakness is self confidence. The pressure to do things perfectly sometimes leaves him feeling crushed, breaking his spirit. And yet, he's risen to become one of UA's big three under those conditions. So I trust him when he says he can take down those thugs on his own. If he believes in himself, I believe in him."
Elsewhere while accompanied by Toga, Shigaraki was looking over the plan one more time with a contemplative expression, soon enough he turned on his earpiece.
"Is everyone ready?"
Dabi looked down at the burning yakuza thug at his feet and kicked him away with a look of pity and disgust.
"Affirmative Boss." He said with a relaxed expression.
Once the decay user got confirmation from everyone, he looked at the door and turned to leave.
"Tomura. Are we seriously just leaving like this? Big Sis Mag deserves better than to watch from the afterlife as run away with our tails between our legs."
"You really think the heroes will kill him?"
Toga looked over at the man as her frustration turned to confusion while she pondered the question for a moment.
"I guess not. What's your point?"
"After they've brought him down, Overhaul will likely be joining my master in Tartarus Prison... or he would be... if we weren't going to ambush their transportation convoy... but we need to get out of here first so we can deduce what route they'll be taking him down."
Toga's eyes lit up in excitement and exhilaration upon hearing that the boss hadn't planned on abandoning vengeance.
"That's brilliant Tomura... but what if we run into him down here? We'll have to kill him."
"Don't be stupid. He's taking the girl as far from here as possible and we're going back the way the heroes came. Our paths won't cross."
The two villains took a sharp turn before Shigaraki suddenly grabbed the blonde and forced her into hiding alongside him from behind the wall.
"Tomu-"
"Shhhh..."
The heroes soon came into sight causing Toga's eyes to widen in shock while Shigaraki desperately tried to keep his cool as he felt his heart racing in anxiety.
'Can't get caught now, I have no fall back plan or contingency in play... everything hinges on using these justice worshipping hypocrites to my advantage.'
Aizawa looked around as his eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Strange. The guy who was manipulating the buildings seems to have eased off for some reason."
"Yeah, your right. It's not twisting anymore."
"I'd expected him to throw as many obstacles in our way as he could to trip us up. If he's not then maybe his awareness and control don't extend through the entire place. There's also the police squad up above, it's possible he decided to focus all his attention on them instead." Aizawa said in speculation.
"So there's a limit to how much of the building he can keep tabs on?" Rock Lock asked.
"Its just a theory, but maybe rather than being assimilated into it, he's moving around inside the walls to monitor what's going on. So when he does take control of an area, perhaps his true body is nearby. If he pokes an actual eye or ear out to keep track of us, that'll be all it takes."
Just as they continued to move forward Kirishima looked back in a panic as Aizawa was pushed back by a wall.
"Eraser!"
'He wants to knock me out of the fight before I can get eyes on him.'
Just as he was about to be seperated Fat Gum pushed the black haired hero out of the way.
"Be careful Fat!"
As he took the blow Fat Gum was forced down a hole where he was sent rolling down into another part of the lair.
Eventually he stopped rolling and fell to the ground at a lower level.
"Mmphh Mmhh?!"
"Woah! Where'd you boys come from?"
Kirishima and Tetsutetsu groaned in pain as the BMI hero got off of them.
"I jumped in front of Eraser to protect him. Figured with my quirk I wouldn't take any damage, but then you jumped in."
"I could say the same, just didn't expect either of you guys to be so fast." Tetsutetsu added while getting up.
The three heroes looked over as they heard footsteps incoming.
"Looks like we got company." Fat Gum coldly observed while preparing for a fight.
Kirishima and Tetsutetsu grimaced in anger and disgust as they saw three figures emerge from the shadows.
"Your that Twice guy! You and your friends were responsible for kidnapping my buddy Bakugou!" The red haired boy said in rage.
"I don't know what your talking about, Yeah! It was totally us!"
Spinner looked over at his comrade in annoyance with his immaturity as he made copies of Dabi and Toga.
He pulled the masked villain close while eying the heroes and yakuza member with great suspicion.
"Remember the plan Twice. We're bailing as soon as we can put some substantial distance between us and these four." He whispered into his ear.
Twice gave the reptile a less than comforting thumbs up as he turned around to face the heroes.
"Get him guys! This is all for Shigaraki!"
Dabi rolled his eyes in annoyance while lighting up his flame as Toga charged in with a gleeful smile.
Hekiji Tengai looked on in annoyance while trying to retain his calm mindset before Twice's eccentric nature could get the better of him.
'Its unthinkable that we'd have lost so many men including Rappa, and now I'm forced to rely on help from these filthy scoundrels.'
Kirishima and Tetsutetsu activated their respective quirks while Fat Gum stepped in front of them, prepared to take on any challenge that would dare to stand before him.
"Remember boys. The sooner we neutralize them, the sooner we can rejoin the others and help get Eri back."
"Right!"
Not wanting to waste anytime Fat Gum closed the distance and absorbed Toga's knife without having any harm done in return.
"Kirishima! My body is heat resistant so I'll take the emo zombie guy! You get the lizard and the masked guy!" Tetsutetsu shouted while seperating from his friend and rival.
"Sounds like a plan!"
Tengai looked at the boy with an apathetic expression while putting up a barrier as he jumped in to strike him.
"Hey! What gives?!"
Undeterred but still bewildered, Kirishima continued to strike the barrier in a ferocious attempt to break through.
"Don't bother. My barriers are stronger than steel." The villain said remaining unimpressed with his efforts.
"Steel is nothing to me!"
Tengai raised a brow in surprise as he actually managed to put a crack in his barrier.
Soon enough Kirishima broke through and continued his assault only for the Yakuza thug to put up another shield.
"So you broke through one of my barriers, but it sure took a relative amount of effort didn't it? And I can easily just put up another in the blink of an eye."
Kirishima grunted in frustration as he jumped to avoid one of Spinner's attacks.
Dabi was laying down the heat on Tetsutetsu but the steel user had minimal issue staving off his attacks as he charged in.
"Dammit!"
The flame user smirked as he found himself protected by one of Tengai's barriers.
"That's a pretty handy quirk you got there. Such a shame your in line with Overhaul and not us."
"That's Master Overhaul to you. Show some respect." The thug said in annoyance.
Dabi grinned in amusement while jumping back as he staggered Tetsutetsu with a point blank burst of flames.
"I take it back, your really full of yourself. Also, why should I? He ain't my boss."
Tengai looked at the flame user in annoyance before begrudgingly relenting as he saw how pointless it was to try and debate such a topic.
Spinner leaped away and grabbed Twice while throwing a knife at Kirishima, which wasn't very effective to say the least.
"Time to go, quickly while those idiots are distracted."
The two villains saw fit to leave as quickly as they could while everyone seemed a little caught up in the battle.
It wasn't long before Fat Gum managed to land a decisive blow, effectively destroying the Toga clone as he looked back to see the villains retreating.
"Where the hell are you going?! Get back here and fight!" Tengai yelled in anger at their apparent betrayal.
"You know I actually agree with him! Stop being cowards and come face justice for what you did to Bakugou!" Kirishima yelled back.
Spinner looked back and flipped the hero and villain off with a deranged and ecstatic grin as he felt some satisfaction not having to deal with their shit anymore.
"We're just going to get something important for Overhaul! Have some more clones as compensation!" He insincerely responded.
Twice halfhazardly produced a couple more clones while continuing to run away from the battle.
"Best of luck, I hope you choke!"
Kirishima could only stare in disbelief and disgust at the league of villains cowardly tactics as a Shigaraki and Compress clone came back the way they ran.
"Red Riot! Real Steel! Look out! If either of them manage to touch you it'll be game over!" Fat Gum warned.
The red haired boy jumped back in annoyance as Shigaraki jumped forward and immediately went in for the kill only to decay a part of the ground.
"Everyone form up!" Fat Gum shouted.
Tengai watched in seething rage as the heroes regrouped and he found himself in the company of some rather undesired allies.
'Those Bastards! They intend to abandon the fortress and let the heroes take down Master Overhaul... I need to have these heroes killed quickly, then I gotta reunite with Irinaka. Once he knows that the league betrayed us, he'll be able to split them up and halt their escape.'
The masked villains attention turned back towards the heroes as they dodged and weaved while doing what they can to fend off the clones assault.
'These clones are aware too. They know of Shigaraki's plan and their own expandability. Sure, there on my side now, but only until they've killed the heroes... Afterwards, it would most certainly be in their best interest to dispose of me or at least prevent me from getting to Irinaka... On the other side, if the heroes here prevail they would likely do the same.'
Tengai desperately picked his brain in search of a plan to get away from the hostile forces that would jeopardize it all.
'Dammit! The barrier guy seems to be in a bind... but even now he's still shielding these clones so we can't destroy them. At this rate, it's gonna turn into a battle of attrition in their favor. One slip up and we'll fall prey to one of their quirks.'
Fat Gum powered through Dabi's flames and tried to land a finisher only for Tengai to put up another barrier.
'My costume is heat resistant, but his flames still hurt more than knives or bullets, however thanks to my large stature I have too many openings and blind spots to contend with the other clones. I don't have any other choice but to put my faith in the boys.'
As Dabi fired another blast at Fat Gum he jumped back while sadistically cackling.
"What's wrong hero? Your looking a little worse for ware, just surrender. I'll make it quick and painful."
A bead of sweat rolled down from the BMI heroes forehead while he grit his teeth in frustration as he and his allies were forced into a corner.
