Chapter 4: The Most Amazing Battle! The Prince Of Dragons Vs The Ace of Fairy Tail
In the last chapter of "I Will Love You No Matter What":
Later
"Natsu, I want you to fight Gildarts." Master Makarov announced as everyone, for the millionth time that day, was shocked by what they heard.
"Master, are you sure about this? Natsu could get seriously hurt if he fights Gildarts." Erza reasoned, worrying for her guild mate's welfare.
"Yeah, Gramps, the Flame Brain can't possibly take on Gildarts on his own." Gray added on.
Natsu then smirked as he got up, doing some small stretches.
"Sure, I'm up for it, what about you Gildarts?" Natsu asked as he turned to the orange haired male who smiled as well.
"Sure, I always love a good fight." Gildarts said as Natsu smirked when he heard that.
'It's time to show everyone who I really am.' Natsu thought to himself as he, alongside Gildarts, walked out of the guild for their fight.
Normal POV
"This battle is between Natsu Dragneel and Gildarts Clive!" Makarov announced.
Both Natsu and Gildarts stood at opposite ends of a hill near quite a few distance away from the guild since Makarov was worried that the two's fight would get out of hand and they would destroy not just the guild, but parts of the city as well.
"So who do you think will win this match?" Wendy asked the rest of Team Natsu curiously as Gray scoffed at the question.
"Hah! Flame Brain's going to lose for sure!" Gray said confidently with a smirk.
"Natsu may have grown stronger over the years but I believe that Gildarts is on a whole different level." Erza stated.
"Yeah I saw how strong Gildarts is back at Tenroujima Island, I seriously doubt Natsu will have any chance at all." Lucy said as a thought appeared in her mind.
"But why did Master ask Gildarts to fight Natsu anyways?" Lucy wondered.
"Yeah that is kind of weird. I mean, it'd be better if I were at his place." Gray stated, unconsciously taking his shirt off.
"Well, let's just see how the battle goes." Erza said.
Since the battle had yet to start, the Fairy Tail members were betting amongst themselves about who would be the victor of the battle. It was no surprise that Gildarts was leading the poll with about 99% of the guild betting on him.
"Well, no matter what happens, let's make this a good fight to remember, alright Natsu?" Gildarts asked with a smile as Natsu nodded his head in agreement as he released the breath of air he held in.
'This is going to be my first real fight in a while, and it's going to be against Gildarts of all people, now that is amazing.' Natsu thought with a smirk.
"Now, without any more delays, let the battle begin!" Makarov shouted as Natsu charged towards Gildarts and sent a powerful punch towards him, and with his speed boosting his punch, it sent Gildarts crashing into a tree, completely destroying it in the process.
Everyone looked on in shock, Natsu had just knocked Gildarts off of his feet with just one punch!
"That was a good hit, Natsu. This is probably the first time you knocked me off my feet." Gildarts said with a smile however, Natsu didn't respond, instead he gave him an emotionless face.
Gildarts then looked at Natsu's expression and smiled.
"So, you're taking this fight seriously, eh? Well then, bring it on!" Gildarts said as he got up.
"Fire Dragon Roar!" Natsu then shot out a massive torrent of flames at Gildarts.
Gildarts then negated the attack with slight amount difficulty with a swipe of his hand. Gildarts then shot a Crash-imbibed fist that aptly resembles a lightning bolt at Natsu.
The attack began headed straight for Natsu who just stood there, and Gildarts could have sworn that he saw a look of disappointment on Natsu's face.
The attack then created a massive explosion as smoke covered the area with everyone being forced to cover their eyes.
"Is Natsu defeated?" Lucy asked as she covered her eyes.
"I don't know! We have to wait until the smoke is all gone!" Gray shouted back.
And once the smoke had cleared everyone had expected to see Natsu on the ground, defeated.
However, to everyone's shock, excluding Happy's, everyone saw Natsu standing exactly where he stood before the explosion with one hand raised, and he didn't even looked damaged at all.
Natsu then punched his fist to his palm.
"That was a good hit, Gildarts. I felt that one." Natsu commented with a smirk.
"Now it's my turn to go on the offense! Fire Dragon Iron Barrage!" Natsu's body was then surrounded by flames as he sent powerful punches and kicks on Gildarts who merely blocked all of them with slight difficulty.
'Natsu has become much stronger than before, and it's only a few weeks since we fought at Tenroujima. Natsu sure has grown in that amount of time.' Gildarts thought proudly before he then gave a strong uppercut imbued with Crash Magic, and launched Natsu in the air.
Natsu then grunted in pain as he was launched to the air, but he then dived downwards as he used his flames to create wings on his back as he then crashed down at light speed towards Gildarts.
Gildarts saw the ravenette coming and prepared an attack, but as Natsu neared Gildarts the Dragon Prince then disappeared. Which shocked the orange haired man.
'Now where did he go?' Gildarts thought as he looked all around him.
Just then, Natsu erupted from below the ground and smashed his fist to the orange haired man's chin, launching him into the air.
Gildarts then crashed on the ground with a loud thud.
The ground then started to disassemble into tiny pieces before the ground then exploded.
As Gildarts slowly got up, Natsu then sent a barrage of powerful punches at Gildarts with each punch stronger than the last.
Gildarts then pushed Natsu away with his Crash Magic but Natsu managed to hold his ground and was then surrounded by his flames.
Natsu then swiped his arms in a circular fashion creating a powerful torrent of flames that he sent to Gildarts who stopped the attack with his hands, but he was dragged away from where he once stood.
Natsu then shot out a torrent of flames at Gildarts who just stopped it with his hand.
But as soon as he did so, Natsu was gone. He could not be seen anywhere.
Gildarts then looked all around him just like before but he could not find the black haired male anywhere.
Seeing as he could not find him anywhere, Gildarts then breathe in some air and punched the ground which caused the ground to shake uncontrollably as Natsu was forced out of the ground.
"You can't hide in the ground again!" Gildarts shouted as he punched Natsu in the gut as the Dragon Prince was sent flying by the attack.
Natsu then managed to keep his momentum in the air before he shot out a torrent of flames downwards, which slowed his descent as he landed safely on the ground. With that, Natsu then charged towards Gildarts with his fist engulfed in flames.
As Gildarts prepared another strike at Natsu, the Dragon Prince then sent a surprise punch on Gildarts, he did so by back flipping so that he would be behind the orange haired male before he sent a powerful fiery right hook at the Crash Mage, sending him back by the force of the attack.
Natsu then shot flames from his mouth at the Crash Mage who, once again, managed to stop the attack with a single hand disassembling the fire into tiny pieces, destroying it.
Natsu then gritted his teeth, although he was indeed not using his full strength for the fight, he thought he could still beat the Crash Mage with what strength he had now.
'Well nothing's wrong if I step it up just a tiny bit.' Natsu thought to himself.
Natsu then charged at Gildarts at a very fast speed. Natsu moved at a speed which Gildarts couldn't even keep up, shocking everyone around him, as the black haired male sent a fist engulfed in flames at Gildarts.
Gildarts managed to stand his ground even after that strong punch. He then sent a punch of his own at Natsu, forcing the Dragon Prince to block the attack with an X like pattern in order to minimize the damage.
Gildarts then charged at Natsu with his fists coated with his Crash Magic.
Natsu managed to block his attack but he was being pushed into the ground by the force of the attack, due to this, the ground was starting to break.
Natsu then shot out a torrent of flames at Gildarts who was surprised by this as he jumped back in order to not get hit by the breath attack.
Natsu then gritted his teeth as his vision blurred, he was beginning to lose his energy since he hadn't eaten any food for a few hours.
'If only there was some fire nearby…' Natsu thought before he looked at his hand and smirked.
Natsu then fired a torrent of flames to the ground, creating a massive fire wall.
Gildarts was then confused by this, the black haired male should've known that his Crash Magic would easily destroy it.
"You know that something like this won't stop-" Gildarts couldn't finish when he heard some slurping noise nearby as all the flames were being sucked by Natsu.
Natsu then licked his lips before a smirk appeared on his face, engulfing his hand in flames.
"Now, I'm all fired up!" Natsu shouted with lots of enthusiasm.
Gildarts then cursed himself at that mistake, he should have realised that Natsu would do something like that in order to recover his energy, looks like he didn't give the black haired male enough credit.
Gildarts was then broken out of his train of thought when Natsu sent a powerful fiery punch at his head.
Gildarts then retaliated with a punch at Natsu's gut and while Natsu flinched from the attack, the Dragon Prince countered once again.
The two were currently having a fist fight and by the looks of it, neither one of them were giving up.
The guild, excluding a few, were trying to keep up at how fast their fists were going.
They knew that Gildarts was very strong, but they didn't expect Natsu to fight with Gildarts as an equal.
Natsu then saw an opportunity and managed to trip the older man causing him to fall to the ground.
Natsu then jumped up into the air before he engulfed his entire body in flames and head butts Gildarts at a very fast speed.
Gildarts then coughed out some saliva after the attack as the ground beneath him was slowly being destroyed.
Everyone then started to look at Natsu in awe, Natsu was currently beating the strongest mage in Fairy Tail.
Gildarts then started to slowly get up as Natsu quickly retreated back, narrowing his eyes at the orange haired male who had a smile on his face.
"Wow, Natsu, you're really pushing me far. I think that it's time for me to use my full strength on you." Gildarts said as he closed his eyes.
And once Gildarts reopened his eyes a massive amount of magical power could be felt, a thick, potent amount of aura surrounded the orange haired man.
Most of the members of Fairy Tail were shivering in fear at the amount of magical power that Gildarts was releasing.
"M-M-Master s-s-stop the match. If the match c-continues, N-N-Natsu will die." Lucy stuttered in fear as her mind was filled with worry over her crush.
Master then turned to Lucy, barely affected by the amount of magical power.
"It is not my say to stop the fight." Makarov said which shocked the blonde, despite the fear she felt.
"But why?" Lucy asked in confusion.
"Look at him." Makarov said as Lucy turned to the field and saw Natsu with an excited look on his face. Flames was surrounding his body. Also the temperature around the field increased immensely causing some of the members to sweat just from being too close to the black haired male.
"Go Natsu! You can do it!" Happy shouted to give some support to his male, and just like Natsu, he wasn't even fazed by the amount of magic he was feeling.
After all, Natsu in his Dragon Prince form, was much scarier than that.
Gildarts then looked at Natsu in shock, the last time he had unleashed his magical power, Natsu was on the ground, shaking in fear.
However, it looks like things has changed a lot since the last time they fought.
"Well then Gildarts, are you just going to stand there, daydreaming? I still need to beat you, you know." Natsu said as Gildarts was then snapped back into reality.
"I want to fight you at your best, so you better concentrate." Natsu said as Gildarts smiled.
"I don't need you telling me that because-" Gildarts then disappeared from sight as Natsu's eyes widened in shock.
Gildarts then appeared behind the Dragon Prince.
"-you're going to need to worry about yourself first." Gildarts finished as he attempted to slam his fist at Natsu who blocked the attack with his new sword.
This caused the whole ground to break with Natsu still stopping the punch, and Gildarts trying to break through Natsu's sword.
They were still going at it for a few minutes but none of them looked like they were about to give in.
"I'm pretty shocked that you have a sword, and that you even know how to use it, Natsu." Gildarts said as Natsu then sent a kicked Gildarts back before jumping back to create some spaces between them.
"Heh, didn't you say that I'm always full of surprises?" Natsu smirked as Gildarts charged in once again.
"I guess you're right about that." Gildarts said as he started sending a barrage of punches at Natsu.
Natsu started blocking his attacks, countering the attack with slashes when he saw a chance to do so, and when Natsu saw an opening, he then pierced through Gildarts defenses with a single slash.
"Fire Dragon Sword Arts: Explosion Slash!" Natsu's sword was then covered in intense torrents of flames as Natsu started slashing the air, which caused the flames to fly around the air to some it looked like the flames were dancing, the flames then started heading towards Gildarts at a very fast speed.
Gildarts then smirked as he put his hand in front of him and disassembled the flames into tiny pieces.
However, as soon as he did so, Natsu then appeared from the disassembled flames and lands a flame coated punch at Gildarts.
Gildarts was then sent flying away as he crashed to the ground as Natsu placed the sword back on his waist.
Natsu then smiled, during most of his childhood, he always wanted to beat Gildarts, and today he might just get that wish, and not even using his full strength.
But he was then brought out by all of it when he saw a light blur that shot towards him , Natsu was then pinned to the ground and was being punched Gildarts repeatedly.
Each time Gildarts had punched him, he felt a painful sting, Natsu then stopped Gildarts's punch with slight difficulty.
Gildarts then punched Natsu with his free hand, but once again, it was also caught by Natsu.
Natsu then smirked as he managed to trap Gildarts, Natsu then breathe in some air as he then shot out torrent of flames from his mouth at Gildarts.
This caused Gildarts to be sent flying away from Natsu, the Dragon Prince then took advantage as he charged up his attack.
However, he didn't have any time to do so as Gildarts sent a powerful strike to the back of his head as Natsu was then slammed to the ground.
But Gildarts didn't stop there he then shot a Crash-imbibed fist that aptly resembles a lightning bolt straight at Natsu, who was unable to dodge the attack.
A massive explosion then could be seen throughout the whole Fiore Region with some wondering what had happened.
After a while, the guild saw that Gildarts standing over Natsu with a huge smile on his face.
After a while, Makarov seemed hesitant but seeing as Natsu didn't look like he was getting up, so the old man sighed.
"The winner of this battle is-" Makarov was unable to finish as Gildarts was then attacked by a pillar of flames that appeared from the underground.
"Don't think that I'm done just yet" Natsu said as he slowly got up.
The whole guild, including Makarov was shocked.
Natsu had no real damage that happened except that his clothes were torn from the attack.
The sleeves of his jacket were torn off, and the front part was torn off, the shirt that he wore inside the jacket was also torn off, which exposed his body to the whole world.
The females of Fairy Tail then blushed when they saw Natsu's rock hard abs, they always knew that he was hiding his amazing body but now that they've seen it before their very eyes, they felt blessed.
However, Natsu had a frown on his face when he saw the damage on his clothes.
"What the hell. Gildarts! I just bought these clothes! You asshole!" Natsu shouted in anger at the orange haired man.
The orange haired man merely chuckled sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his head.
"I'm sorry about that." The man said apologetically while Natsu merely sighed, before a serious expression appeared on his face.
"Well then, let's continue our fight." Natsu said as Gildarts smirked.
"Alright then." Gildarts said as he punched Natsu in the face, but Natsu stood his ground from the powerful punch and gave Gildarts an uppercut to his chin, sending him upwards.
As the orange haired male was falling downwards, Natsu shot out a torrent of flames at the elder male.
Gildarts then disassembled the fire attack and as he was crashing down to the ground, he used this as a chance and managed to catch Natsu off guard and slammed his face to the ground, which caused the field to be further damaged.
Natsu then sent a powerful kick at Gildarts's head, but Gildarts still had an iron grip on Natsu's face.
Desperate, Natsu then took out his sword and used the blunt side of the sword and struck Gildarts at his gut which caused the orange haired man to lose his grip.
Taking advantage of that, Natsu then sent the strongest of punches that he could muster at the orange haired man's face, and this caused Gildarts to back up from the force of the attack.
Natsu then created a similar fire wall just like before.
"I won't let you recharge your energy again!" Gildarts roared as he disassembled the fire wall.
But to his shock, Natsu was no longer there.
'Where is he? Is he in the ground again?' Gildarts thought as he punched the ground, but unlike before, Natsu didn't appear.
'Where is he then?' Gildarts thought as he continued to look around.
That was when he felt something bright overhead and when the Crash Mage looked up, he saw a bright reddish stream of flames heading straight towards him.
He barely managed to dodge the attack before sending a powerful punch at Natsu's side, making the Dragon Prince crash into a tree.
But that didn't stop Natsu at all as he got back up with a smirk on his face.
"That was a good hit, Gildarts. Sorry to say this but, this is going to hurt a lot more! Lightning Flame Mode!" Electricity and flames began surrounding the Dragon Prince as Gildarts could only stare at Natsu, and he even felt himself taking a step back in fear.
"Now it's time to end this! Roar of the Lightning Flame Dragon!" Natsu then gathers and combines the electricity and flames in his mouth, subsequently releasing them in a large and powerful burning and sparking blast.
Gildarts then closed his eyes as he concentrated his magical power and placed his hands in front of him.
Gildarts then stared at the attack coming at him, and to everyone's shock, he managed to disassemble the attack into tiny pieces.
Natsu then looked in shock and in awe as a smile appeared on his face.
'Guess I underestimated him too much.' Natsu thought to himself as he turned over to the Crash Mage.
Gildarts was not just panting heavily, he was also sweating profusely. Not just from the heat surrounding the place, but due to the fact that he used almost all of his magical power to destroy that single attack.
"I'm sorry for underestimating you with that Gildarts, but this time, I'm going to end it for real!" Natsu said as he took his sword and threw it at Gildarts.
Natsu didn't know why, but he could feel the sword urging him to jump on it and following that feeling, Natsu then jumped on the sword and to his and everyone else's shock. The sword didn't crash into the ground like a sword normally would.
Natsu was riding his sword, and the sword was moving around, as if it has a mind of its own.
Natsu, although shocked, was quite glad at the result. After all, he could use the finishing move that he planned on doing with enough speed to finish it as well!
"Now, Gildarts! This is the real finisher!" Natsu shouted as his body was surrounded by flames and electricity.
"With the power of intensive flames on my right hand, and the power of sparking electricity in my left, two powers merge together and turn into a more powerful strength!" Natsu chanted as he neared Gildarts.
"Lightning Flame Dragon Secret Arts: Electric Burning Fist!" Natsu then jumped off the sword and jumped above Gildarts and smashed his two fist together before he slammed it at the orange haired man, sending him crashing through the already damaged ground, damaging it even more as smoke covered the area, forcing everyone to shield their eyes.
After a short while, the smoke began to disappear and everyone could see in the middle was none other than Natsu standing over an unconscious Gildarts.
Everyone, excluding Happy, was in shock when they saw Natsu still standing with a smile on his face. Heck, the Dragon Prince didn't even look tired after the fight at all!
Makarov was the first, out of many, to break out of his shock as a smile found its way to his face.
"Gildarts cannot fight anymore! Which means Natsu Dragneel is the winner!" Makarov then announced.

Christopher Dragkrow: Well that is up for this chapter, this was probably the worst and shortest chapter since I have improved writing. Please comment on the fight, but no flames please. Hope you enjoyed it see you again soon! And Kei didn't make in appearance in this chapter but she will in the next.
