Christopher Dragkrow: Now this is the twenty sixth chapter of this story, I'm glad to say that we have finally passed the 600th favourites mark, and now let's aim for 700 favourites!

Chapter 26: Natsu Vs Rufus!
In the last chapter of "I Will Love You No Matter What":
'Looks like I was right to join the Final Day.' Natsu then cracked his knuckle.
'This is going to be a WHOLE lot of fun.'
Normal POV
"Alright, and it seems that the Grand Magic Games has finally reached its climax! After four whole days, we're finally going to see which guild will pull out on top!" Chapati said excitedly.
"Now, I'll go over the current guild rankings."
"In sixth place, we have Quatro Puppy with a total of 9 points!" The members of the guild looked really excited or as they like to call, Wild.
"And tied for fourth place, we have Blue Pegasus with a total of 27 points!" the crowd, more specifically girls, started cheering as the members waved back at them.
"Also in fourth place, we have Lamia Scale!" Out of all the Lamia Scale members, it was Jura who had the most attention as fans screamed out his name.
"In third place we have the majestic, Mermaid Heel with 35 points!" The females, excluding Kagura, waved at the crowd while Kagura merely had a calm look on her face.
"In second place, we have our current strongest guild, Sabertooth with a total of 45 points!" the Sabertooth members just kept a cool expression as Sting turned to the side where the Fairy Tail members were, looking at one specific member.
"And in first place, is the guild you've all been waiting for, Team Fairy Tail with a total of 55 points!" the crowd began cheering extremely loudly as the members had a serious expression on their faces.
One that clearly shows their confidence and power.
"You think they're already making their way to the castle?" Erza asked and Natsu turned to her and shrugged.
"I don't know, but we can only hope that we can fool them, after all we don't want our guild to be known as the one that went against the kingdom. We already have problem with the Council." Natsu joked and Erza let out a chuckle as she turned to the skies.
'Just leave this thing to us, we're counting on all of you to save Lucy.' Erza thought, thinking of the rescue team that were trying to save the blonde mage before Chapati broke her out of her thoughts.
"Show us your fighting skills, your magical power and especially the bond between your comrades!" The five Fairy Tail mages looked at each other and nodded their heads at one another.
They knew what was on the line, if they didn't pull out on top Lucy would remain in the Kingdom's hands. Besides, they plan on getting their guild back on top, where they belong. And the five still had pride and have no intention to lose
"The competition of the final day of the Grand Magic Games is a survival game that all members must participate." Chapati announced as each guild were then teleported to one side of the city.
"For this final battle, the battlefield is the entire city of Crocus, meaning you have lots more chances to hide and also more chances to lose your target-kabo!" the guest speaker, which was actually the referee, the pumpkin man said.
"The teams, now located all around town, will run around town and if they encounter any enemy guild, a battle will ensure. And what will happen when that happens? Well if the opponent is rendered unconscious or is unable to battle, the other side will gain one point."
"Also, every team will assign one member to be the leader of the team, and the team that defeats the leader will earn five points for their team." Yajima said.
"Just to note, the teams do not know who the leaders of the other teams' are-kabo."
"Theoretically, the maximum points one team can get is fourty five. Every guild still has a chance to win the Grand Magic Games." Chapati commented before he turned to the former councilman.
"Do you think the guild members should split up, or should they stay as a group?" Chapati asked as Yajima placed a hand on his chin.
"That all depends on their strategy. If you're better for a group attack, then it's advisable to stay in groups but if you're much better fighting solo then splitting up is the way." Yajima explained.
"I'm excited to see what these guilds are going to do-kabo!" the pumpkin man said excitedly.
Natsu, who had been paying much more attention to the stands rather than the announcement and when I say that, I mean he spent most of his attention to Kei in the stands, who was also sneaking glances at him, to not make her sister suspicious, turned to his team.
"So, who's going to be our leader?" Natsu asked and they immediately pointed, including Gajeel and Laxus, which was shocking in his opinion, at him and Natsu was confused.
"Wait, me? Why not pick Laxus or even Erza?" Natsu asked and Laxus grunted.
"Stop being so damn modest, flame brain. You….are definitely the strongest out of all of us here. " Laxus admitted, albeit begrudgingly, as there was a tint of red on his face as Erza nodded her head in agreement.
"And besides, it'll only make sense making you the leader, after all, from what I've heard from Jellal, you've been acting like a true leader to them." Erza said as Natsu sweat dropped.
'I feel like they're not understanding the point of being leader in this one.' Natsu thought but he still smiled. After all, how often would Laxus of all people compliment someone?
"Stop smiling like that!" Laxus said as Natsu walked over to him and wrapped an arm around his shoulder.
"Aww, is someone getting soft after these past few months?" Natsu said teasingly and Laxus slapped the back of his head.
"You better not get defeated easily, alright!" Laxus said and Natsu nodded his head.
'Well, that's that then.' Natsu thought as he turned to Gajeel who was having a distant look on his face.
"Yo, Gajeel." Natsu said out as the Iron Dragon Slayer turned to him.
"What do you want?" he grunted as Natsu smirked.
"You wanted to face Sting and Rogue, right? Well, now's your chance, you better defeat them fast before I do~." Natsu said playfully at the end as Gajeel growled at him.
"I won't let you interrupt my battle again, Salamander!" Gajeel said and Natsu chuckled before turning to his partner and long-time friend, Happy.
"You ready to show the world how strong you are?" Natsu asked and Happy smiled.
"That goes without saying, besides Sachi is watching and I plan on impressing her." Happy said softly enough so that only Natsu would be able to hear and Natsu smiled as he turned to Kei's direction.
"Yeah, I have someone to impress too." Natsu replied before Erza brought everyone's attention towards her.
"We got to win this whole thing. For Lucy." Erza said.
"But we can't just hope that the others would save her." Gajeel said.
"After all we have to do this one for the rest of the guild. The ones that had to endure the rough treatment from everyone else." Laxus said.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's do this thing!" Natsu said excitedly as everyone shouted out in agreement.
"Which guild will attain the glorious peak of magic? Let the final day of the Grand Magic Games begin!" Chapati announced loudly.
"Alright, let's do it!" Erza shouted as she turned to face her teammates, but quickly realized that there were two missing members.
"Wait, where are Natsu and Happy?" Erza questioned and everyone looked around to find that they were indeed gone.
"Those idiots, did they forget that we need to follow the plan?!" Laxus said and Erza sighed.
"It's no matter, Natsu and Happy can handle themselves, after their performance so far, they're stronger than most of the contestants here, even in group." Erza said as she, Laxus and Gajeel then stood at where they were with their eyes closed.
Ready for the plan that their First Guild Master had initiated.
With Natsu
Currently, we see the Dragon Prince wandering around town, with his arms behind his head.
'I don't think I have the ability to stay patient like they do.' Natsu thought as he continued walking with two figures behind him.
"What luck, we found Natsu Dragneel! If we defeat him, we'll be able to beat Fairy Tail with no problem!" Rocker said to his teammate, Nobarly.
The two then turned back and saw Natsu was gone.
"Wait, where'd he go?!" Rocker asked looking around.
The two then noticed a shadow looming over them and when they turned Natsu's fist connected with their faces, knocking them out in an instant.
"You do realize you're not supposed to talk behind someone who has enhanced hearing, right?" Natsu asked bored as the crowd cheered.
"And we have the first knockouts of the Games, and it comes from Natsu Dragneel!" Chapati announced as two points were added to Fairy Tail's score.
"Meanwhile, his teammates are still unmoving at their starting position? What are they doing?" Chapati said.
Meanwhile, in the other parts of town the Trimens managed to knock out Ariana and Beth from Mermaid Heel gaining two points for their guild as Jura and Lyon knocked out Semmes and Yeager, earning points as well.
"Oh and it seems Happy from Fairy Tail is also making his move!"
"Go Happy, Go!" Sachi cheered from the stands as she watched her mate battling with Toby and Yuka.
"Sorry about this, but I don't plan on going down." Happy growled in his Tenebrarum Eques form."
Leila whistled from where she sat at the sight of Happy.
"Natsu's partner is this thing? Really impressive that he managed to teach his Exceed how to call upon that beast's powers." Leila said as Kei turned to her.
"You know about it?" Kei asked and Leila nodded her head.
"Yeah, Tenebrarum Eques, also known as the Knight of Darkness, it was said to have once ruled parts of the land in Fiore with its massive power. However, due to unknown reasons it disappeared off from the face of Earthland; To think Natsu managed to teach him that, must have taken lots of practise." Leila explained as Kei nodded her head, hiding a smile.
"Thunder Knight's Holy Sword!" Happy then howled before he transmitted the electricity to his mouth before firing it as a massive beam at the two Lamia Scale members who dodged it.
"You may be a cat, but you still have magic inside of you! Wave Boost!" Yuka then surrounds one of his hands with a relatively small, elongated sphere of energy before firing it at Happy.
Happy was confused by the strange energy surrounding him before he roared out, disrupting the flow of magic around him.
"B-but how?!" Yuka said in shock.
Darkness Roar!" Happy then shot out a beam of negative energy straight at Yuka, who was unable to dodge, as he was sent flying into a wall, unconscious.
"I'll make you pay for that!" Toby shouted out angrily as he swung his long nails at Happy.
"Hyper Slash!" Happy's claws then glowed red as he struck Toby directly across the chest, causing him to cry out in pain before he fell to the ground as well.
"Oh and Happy managed to defeat two mages from Lamia Scale!" Sachi then squealed in delight as Kei had to grab her before she flew towards him.
"Wow, you sure are Wild!" a drunken voice called out as Happy turned around and saw Bacchus, walking drunkenly.
Happy then smirked when he saw the Quatro Puppy member.
"I heard you're an S-Class mage that could go toe to toe with Erza of all people. This is going to be fun."
"Haha! I'm not going to let you beat me easily!" Bacchus said as he noticed something bright headed his way and as he turned back, Sting then came out of the sky, pounding the Mage into the ground, creating a massive hole as Sting watched with a passive look on his face.
"And Bacchus is knocked out! Meaning that Sabertooth will get five points added while all of Quatro Puppy's members are down and out!" Goldmine, Quatro Puppy's guild master, was jaw-dropped at the news, shocked that his members were defeated so quickly.
And the current standings of the games are:
1st place: Fairy Tail 59P
2nd place: Sabertooth 49P
3rd place: Mermaid Heel 35P
4th place: Lamia Scale 29P
4th place: Blue Pegasus 29P
6th place: Quatro Puppies 9P (Knocked Out)
"Fairy Tail is still leading by a ten point margin despite half of their members remain unmoving, will anyone be able catch them?"
"What are those three doing anyways? If Natsu and Happy get knocked out then we have no way of earning points. They're supposed to be doing this for Lucy." Makarov said worriedly as Mavis smiled.
"That's why they need to be calm." Mavis said as Makarov looked at her curiously.
"During all parts of the competitions and battles, I've managed to observe our opponents' fighting style, strength, magic, psychology and even their behavioural patterns." This time, all the members of Fairy Tail turned to her.
"I made an effort and came up with hundreds of millions of battle simulations in my head. Their movements, locations, predictions and results. Everything has gone according to my calculation." Mavis ended with a smile on her face as Makarov widened his eyes in shock at what she said.
"I've already told them the strategy to win." And with that, the remaining Fairy Tail members who were standing still began to open their eyes, seriousness evident in them.
"Leading your allies to victory from behind the action. That is my war!" Mavis said as she stood up.
"Begin! Operation: Fairy Star!" the three Fairy Tail members wasted no time before running off.
"Finally! The remaining Fairy Tail members are on the move!" Rufus then smirked as he held the tip of his hat.
"My tracking skills, should not be underestimated. I'll use this move to knock them all out from the competition. Memory Make: Night of Falling Stars!" lighting-related magic formed around him before they shot out at five different directions.
"All of you ignore the lights and in two seconds doge the attack, Laxus will be the only one who can block it." Mavis said as everyone did as they were told, shocking Rufus but he shook his head.
'It's fine, at least Natsu and that cat of his will be knocked out.' Rufus thought.
"Oh and it seems that all Fairy Tail members seem to have withstood the attacks!" Rufus then looked at the monitors to see Natsu and Happy taking the attacks no problem, brushing it off as if nothing.
Rufus then clenched his fists angrily as Mavis began directing the three what to do as Erza knocked out Jenny, Gajeel and Laxus knocked out the Trimens, earning 4 points for Fairy Tail.
"Oh, and with that, Fairy Tail is extending their lead more and more!" Chapati announced as everyone cheered.
"Alright, the First Master is spot on with her strategy!" one of the Fairy Tail members cheered, meanwhile, Makarov was silent throughout all the cheering as he turned to the First Master.
"Say First Master, you're managing to communicate with the members down there in battle, right?" Makarov asked and Mavis, without even looking at him, nodded her head,
"Then what about Natsu and Happy?" Makarov questioned and this time Mavis turned to him with a frown on her face.
"I can't reach out to them." Mavis admitted and everyone was shocked at what she said.
"It's as if there's some mysterious force in my mind that's blocking me from entering their mind." Mavis said as she watched the monitor and watched the Dragon Prince walking around bored.
'To think, he's managed to hide such a large amount of power from everyone since I first saw him.' Mavis thought to herself before she shook her head.
"But with what I've seen so far, they almost have no need for my help. So, I'll have to guide the other three." Mavis then began giving instructions to the Fairy Tail mages as Makarov watched her in awe.
'I finally remember what people used to call you, First Master….With that amazing capability to come up with major strategies, you managed to help the guild pull out victorious in a couple of wars. The Fairy Tactician!'
Meanwhile, Jura defeated Ichiya, meaning that Blue Pegasus is knocked out of the competition and Chelia defeated Risley earning them a total of 6 points.
"I predict a fierce battle from here on out." Mavis stated as Cana turned to her.
"Say, Number One, have you given thought about dealing with Jura?" Cana asked as Mavis shook her head.
"I've thought about him, but I couldn't think of any way to defeat him, be it fighting him with a group or even one on one. He's just exceptionally powerful." Mavis said, but that didn't ease their worries at all.
"Then what about Natsu? Could we have him battle with Jura, after all he's beaten him once before." Lisanna pointed out.
"That may be the only way we can beat him, IF Jura were to underestimate him again, but I fear Natsu may not have a chance to beat him at this level." Mavis said, as everyone began to worry.
Unfortunately for the so-called "Fairy Tactician" she didn't even know Natsu's full capabilities.
And currently with Natsu, we see him walking towards a library where he found none other than Rufus Lore of Sabertooth.
"Natsu Dragneel of Fairy Tail…..if not for the Grand Magic Games, I would have forgotten about you." Rufus stated as he sat in his seat calmly, reading a book while Natsu waved it off.
"It's better if you forget about me, the less the people know of me the better." Natsu said as Rufus stood up.
"Your powers, strength, magical powers and abilities. I've memorized each and every one of them during the entirety of the games, meaning that, you're going to lose here." Rufus said as Natsu smirked.
"Let's see if you can back those words! Fire Dragon's Roar!" Natsu then shot out a torrent of flames from his mouth as Rufus avoided the attack.
"Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!" Natsu then brought out his two hands and flames start to gather around his hands which then resembled a Dragon's wing, Natsu then swung his hands, causing the flames to be fired at Rufus's direction.
Rufus merely avoided the attack and Natsu noted his motions were too…..relaxed.
"Like I said, I've memorised everything you have, and it's not just your magic as well. I've memorized everyone's magical abilities and strength! Let me show you a few of which! Memory Make: Sword of Frozen Black Lightning!" Rufus then raised his hand in the air and a bright glow appeared as black lightning appeared on the field and as the struck the ground, spikes of ice surges forward towards Natsu.
"Fire Dragon's Roar!" Natsu then shot out a torrent of flames from his mouth at the ice, melting it at contact.
"Let's see if you can deal with this! Memory Make: Shrine of Turbulent Fang!" Rufus then swiped his hand as hurricanes appeared before him as they headed towards Natsu's way.
"Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!" the flames then completely destroys the attack and Rufus noted the dangers of such.
"That move is too much of a hassle, so I'll have you Forget it." Rufus said with a smirk as Natsu raised an eyebrow at him.
"No way, he can make Natsu forget his own moves?!" Elfman exclaimed in shock but Romeo shrugged it off.
"Don't worry, Natsu-nii has more than enough techniques to defeat him." Romeo said, defending his idol.
"No matter the case, Natsu MUST defeat Rufus, after all, his defeat plays a major part in Sabertooth's downfall." Mavis said with narrowed eyes.
Leila began watching the match with interest as she neared the monitor.
'You're being pushed to a corner here Natsu. What will you do?' Leila thought as Kei was not worried by this and believed in her mate's strength.
'You can do this, Natsu!' Kei thought.
"During your time to walk here, I've been reading some books containing the information of magic from the ancient times. And I'm sure you've noticed that I not only am able to use the moves of other mages, but I can combine it with other sorts of magic to produce another type of magic. And this is one of the results! Memory Make: Line of Ancient Master Swordsmen! Arise and show them your power!"
Rufus then extends his arm and manages to create a horde of lance-wielding swordsmen made of ice.
"Feast your eyes on this wondrous ancient magic! To think, I'm able to create soulless soldiers out of stray elements of magic. I remembered the Molding Magic techniques of your fellow guild mate, Gray Fullbuster, and have perfected it!" Rufus said as Natsu looked around him and was unfazed.
"Is that all you've got?" Natsu asked in boredom, and even yawned, taunting Rufus.
"Ice soldiers! Teach him a lesson!" The ice soldiers then headed towards Natsu as he engulfed his hands on fire.
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" Natsu then swung punches after punches, destroying the ice soldiers with each punch. However, Rufus was not worried, instead he smirked.
"Forget…" the flames surrounding Natsu's hands dispersed as Natsu watched as an ice soldier swung its lance at him, striking him directly before another one did the same.
Natsu then fell to the ground after the attack before getting up.
"I can't take this! Natsu, you're a Man aren't you? Then fight back!" Elfman roared from the stands.
The ice soldiers then charged in once again and when it swung its lance at the Dragon Prince, Natsu caught it, shocking Rufus.
"Sorry, but there's one thing you need to know about me and you better not forget it." Natsu then threw the ice soldier at the rest of it, breaking them all together.
"I despise Ice Magic!" Natsu said as everyone else cheered.
"I see….it seems that I need to make a combination that is a bit more powerful in battle. Memory Make: Memorized Blade of Flashing Lightning!" Rufus then created a 'giant' trapped in some ice as swung its axe, coated with lightning at Natsu.
Natsu managed to catch the attack with his hands but electricity then coursed through his body from the axe.
"It's pointless to do so. You shouldn't even-" Rufus then heard a loud crash and he saw the giant he created, close to him, knocked out.
Rufus then turned to Natsu who was smirking at him.
"Sorry, but I don't think you realize that I get knocked out so easily." Natsu said as Rufus chuckled.
"I knew you were durable after your fights with Jura, as well as Sting and Rogue. But I think it's the end of the line for you. Memory Make: Fairy's Distant Blade!" Rufus's then extend his hand as a bright light shot out from his hand at Natsu.
Natsu then jumped to the side, only for the light to engulf him as he cried out in pain.
"Natsu!" Kei shouted in worry.
And as the smoke cleared, everyone could see Natsu, on the ground, his top was tattered from the light as Rufus sat on the railings.
"The strongest mage of the Grand Magic Games, some call you. But you're nothing more than my guinea pig to test my newfound combination techniques. Such as this! Memory Make: Showering Ancient Wisdom!" Rufus then extends his hand as he summons forth a yellow Magic Seal made of brilliant light above Natsu, pushing him to the ground as the Dragon Prince cried out in pain.
"There's nothing on this world that I can't do with magic. You're feeling too, aren't you? With the power of the ancients and my Memory Make, I can control all of the elements this world possesses. With this, you'll be crushed by light as if it were Gravity Magic and there's no escape for you! It's better for you to surrender so that I can end your suffering." Rufus said and he could have sworn he heard a chuckle.
"Surrender, you say?" Natsu said as he got up, completely overpowering the gravity pushing him down, shocking Rufus.
"You can still move after that?" Rufus said in shock as Natsu turned to him.
"You said a lot of interesting stuff there, but I have no clue what you mean by surrendering." Natsu said as he then turned to one of the Lacrima that was placed throughout the entire town. Natsu then gave the monitor a smile.
He could feel her watching him, no, he KNOWS that Kei is watching him right now. And he'll be damned if he ever lets her see him lose. Never.
"That's why I'm going to defeat you here!" Natsu then inhaled some air.
"Fire Dragon's Roar!" Natsu then shot out a torrent of flames from his mouth at the blonde.
Rufus then smirked at the flames in front of him.
"I remember witnessing ice being able to withstand flames before. Memory Make: Line of Ancient Master Defenders!" Rufus then created a horde of shield wielding warriors in front of him, but instead of 'withstanding' the flames as he said, the flames devoured the ice soldiers before heading towards Rufus.
"Impossible…" Rufus said with wide eyes as he was forced to dodge out of the way.
As he did so, Rufus was now face to face with Natsu Dragneel.
"You say it's impossible, but you've never felt my flames before, I'll give you the memory of getting your ass beaten! Dragon's Slayer Secret Arts: Crimson Lotus Exploding Flame Blade!"
Natsu swipes his arms in a circular fashion, creating a powerful, and highly destructive, torrent of flames at Rufus.
Rufus then cried out in pain as the flames engulfed him.
Once the smoke cleared out of the way, everyone saw Natsu standing over the defeated body of Rufus as he grabbed Rufus's hat and put it on.
"And Natsu Dragneel has defeated Rufus Lore of Sabertooth!" Chapati announced as the crowd cheered loudly.
Kei then sighed in relief at the outcome of the match as Leila smiled beside her.
'He's really strong, I'd say he's probably the same level as I am, if not stronger.' Leila thought as she shuddered in excitement at the thought of that.
Kei then looked through the monitor and that was when she saw Natsu's look on his face.
He had that ever loving grin on his face and she blushed at the sight of it.
'I wish I could be there with you right now, so I can kiss you, Natsu.' Kei thought with a smile as she placed her hand on her beating heart.
Even if she were his girlfriend, he still had that effect on her that would never disappear.
Meanwhile, over with Natsu who was still in the library.
'Hmm, who should I go for next? I really hope that Jura isn't defeated yet, I really want to battle him again.' Natsu then began going through the participants of the games and his mind immediately went to Sting.
'Hmm, something about him has changed when I saw him at the stadium. Something must have happened.' Natsu thought as he exited the library.
'Man, so many good opponents and so little time, but I can't delay any further, I must stop the Dragon King's Festival!'

Christopher Dragkrow: Alright, now as to why this chapter is so long, it's because of that certain canon scene at the Dragon Graveyard. Geez, I hated that moment so MUCH! Anyways, Natsu is taking part in the final day, will Fairy Tail pull out victorious? Find that out in the next chapter!
