Chapter 30: A Future to Live For!
In the last chapter of "I Will Love You No Matter What":
"As much as I don't like to admit it, are you sure you'll be fine against that man? He was capable of controlling us without putting too much stress to his mind." Atlas Flame asked in concern as Natsu nodded his head.
"If I don't defeat him now, our future will be lost and I can't allow that to happen." Natsu said determinedly as Atlas Flame smiled before taking flight towards the airborne Motherglare.
'I'm all fired up!' Natsu thought to himself with a smirk.
Normal POV
Crocus, also known as the capital of Fiore, is more widely known as the Flower Blooming Capital due to the limitless amount of flowers adorning the streets, with flowerbeds being placed everywhere. Besides that, but the vast amount of buildings in the city made it one of the highly populated towns in all of Ishgar.
However, if a tourist were to step into the city, they would definitely see that everything was different.
There were destroyed buildings everywhere and only a couple of them could have been called 'buildings', and the flowers that made the city so popularly known, were all completely destroyed, not a single flower to be found.
Standing above the remnants of the beautiful city was none other than the mastermind behind all of the chaos, Rogue or Future Rogue to be exact, as he stood on one of the seven dragons responsible for such mayhem, Motherglare.
"Wonderful. So this is the kind of strength a dragon possesses. What destructive force!" Rogue then clenched his hand tightly, the feeling of power surging throughout his body.
"To think we honour other humans when we could honour these mighty beasts. With this many dragons, I can definitely kill HIM, and then I'll be the rightful ruler of this world!"
"Be torn apart from the ground, burnt from the sky, and let all hope in this world die! For I am the new Dragon King born from the Dragon King Festival and with me ruling, the darkness will overshadow the light and it will cover the entire world!"
"Who do you think's going to allow you to do such things?!" a familiar voice said causing Rogue's eyes to widen in shock as he turned back, only to be shocked even more when he saw Natsu riding atop of Atlas Flame's head as the fiery dragon flew towards him.
'Impossible, my Dragon Supremacy Magic shouldn't have been broken so easily by him, then how?!'
Rogue was unable to go deeper into thought as Atlas Flame head butted Motherglare, pushing said dragon back a bit, but it still managed to maintain its command in the air.
"Why have you betrayed me Atlas Flame?" Rogue questioned the dragon.
"I am merely following my heart after Natsu's words freed me from your control." His words somehow angered the man from the future who clenched his fists in anger.
"Not only did you fight me on an equal bases, but you also managed to free Atlas Flame from my control. You're clearly not the same Natsu Dragneel I fought!" His words somehow confused the Dragon prince, but he had no time to dwell into his thoughts as Rogue charged at him as he generates shadows from his hand and unleashes them at Natsu.
"Let's do this, Uncle!" With that, the fiery dragon evaded the attack from Rogue before charging closer towards them.
"Oh no you don't! Shadow Dragon's Roar!" Rogue then fired a large burst of shadows from his mouth at the fiery dragon, in hopes of stopping him, but Natsu had other ideas.
"Fire Dragon's Roar!" Natsu then shot out a massive torrent of hellish red flames from his mouth at the breath attack, stopping it completely.
Natsu's attack gave Atlas Flame enough time to completely close the distance between the two dragons as the fiery dragon grabbed onto Motherglare's body tightly before he bit the dragon.
This caused the dragon to cry out as it flailed its body around in pain, forcing Rogue to hold onto the scales tightly so that he may not fall.
"Alright, hold him tight until we get close, uncle." Natsu said with a smirk plastered on his face. Rogue, seeing the smirk on the Dragon Prince's face immediately called out to his dragon.
"Motherglare, don't you dare allow them to make a fool out of you! Fight back!" Motherglare then shifted its neck to the side, causing Atlas Flames grip on it to loosen, but before the fiery dragon could get in close again, Motherglare fired a highly destructive blast, from its mouth at Atlas Flame. However, the beam merely passes right through Atlas Flame's body, destroying a rural land behind the major city.
"Damn that was an intense blast! Are you alright, uncle?" Natsu asked in concern as the mighty dragon shook his head.
"Breath attacks are ineffective against me, I won't get hurt from these sort of attacks." Atlas Flame responded and Motherglare heard this proclaim.
"You shouldn't get so cocky, Atlas Flame. Your flames are incapable of burning my adamantine body as well." Atlas Flame snorted at the remark.
"You mustn't underestimate my flames so easily, after all, it only requires a small spark to create an inferno!" Atlas Flame stated.
"Besides, it wasn't my plan to engage you at all…" Atlas Flame started as Natsu leaped from Atlas Flame, his body engulfed in hellish red coloured flames, towards Motherglare.
"It was to allow him to fight!" Natsu then roared out as a torrent of flames engulfed his hand.
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" Natsu's attack then collided with Rogue's face, causing the man to cough out blood as he was sent flying into a building.
"Uncle, I'll leave him to you." With those words said, Natsu jumped down towards Rogue's direction.
'Natsu Dragneel, eh? You sure are like your father.' Atlas Flame thought before turning back towards his foe.
"To think you're listening to a mere human, how low have you fallen, Atlas Flame?" Motherglare sneered but the flaming dragon shook his head.
"No! He is no ordinary human, he is the child of Igneel and Lumina, the son of my friends! We're kin! Thus, I will help him out any way I can!" Atlas Flame then proceeded to engage his fellow dragon in battle.
Natsu then landed on the ground safely as he looked around cautiously. Though he could detect Future Rogue's scent, the man from the future was moving around continuously and since he was capable of moving in the shadows and at the speed of light, the man could appear from anywhere.
"Since you're planning on hiding here forever, I might as well get you out!" Natsu then punched into the ground before engulfing his entire arm on fire.
Natsu then fired a large blast of flames underground and the ground began heating up before all of the flames were shot up from underground, and Rogue who was hiding in the shadows, shouted in pain as he was forced out of it.
"There you are! Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" Natsu then engulfed his hand in flames before sending a powerful right hook at Rogue sending him crashing into a building.
Rogue then gritted his teeth as he entered the shadows, moving at extreme speed until he appeared behind the black haired prince.
"Shadow Dragon's Vortex!" Rogue then extends his shadow in length, creating a swirling vortex, shooting it towards Natsu's direction.
Natsu then managed to slash the vortex into two with his sword as he charged at Rogue again.
"Grr, stay away! Shadow Dragon's Roar!" Rogue then fired a large burst of shadows from his mouth at the Dragon Prince.
Natsu managed to avoid the breath attack by shifting his body to the side before continuing his charge towards the black-white haired male.
"Fine, I'll just have to defeat you head on!" Rogue then charged in, his arm entirely covered in shadows before sending a punch at Natsu's direction, but the Dragon Prince merely caught the attack. Gripping onto his hand tightly, Natsu glared at the man in front of him.
"Now, do you see how pointless all of this is? You said you were more powerful than everyone, didn't you?"
"Shut up!" Rogue attempted to kick him back, but Natsu kicked him in the gut and the force of his kick would have sent him back but since Natsu was holding onto his hand, Rogue could only cough out some saliva after the kick.
"Let me remind you this, Rogue. There'll always be someone in the world who is better than you, and never forget it." Natsu said and Rogue glared angrily at the man in front of him before he disappeared into the shadows, retreating from the area and this caused Natsu to sigh.
'Looks like he managed to escape.' Natsu thought as he closed his eyes, listening to the cries of his fellow mages and Dragon Slayers.
'Considering it's been a whole hour since the dragons appeared, it'll only be a matter of time before everyone runs out of magic. I need to hurry and defeat Rogue.' Natsu thought to himself before detecting a familiar scent nearby.
'This is….!'
Meanwhile
Kei, being one of the people fighting the hatchlings on the ground, finally found the source of the loud cry she heard before after passing an alleyway when the Sachi appeared overhead.
"Kei, there's a little girl that's being attacked by those creatures!" the white Exceed said and with that, the two quickly rushed towards the area.
And indeed to the Exceed's words, the black haired female could see a young girl with brown hair, crying on the ground as two hatchlings blocked her only route of exit, slowly inching towards her.
"Stay away from her!" Kei shouted as she ran towards them and striking them with her newly acquired sword, slashing them into two.
"Are you alright?" Kei asked the girl gently, getting a nod from the child as her crying stopped, reducing to only sniffles, when she noticed that the monsters were away.
"You shouldn't be here, this is a very dangerous place to be in now. Where's your mother?" Kei asked again, and this time tears began forming in her eyes again at the mention of her mother.
"I-I don't know, I was together with mommy and all of a sudden, we-we-" the girl couldn't finish her answer when she began crying again. Kei, despite trying her best, was unable to comfort the little girl.
Things were about to get a whole lot worse since the crying managed to attract nearby hatchlings to the area.
"Uh oh, Kei! We're surrounded!" Sachi pointed out and Kei looked around to see that there were a few dozen of those hatchlings surrounding them and she couldn't protect the child AND fight them at the same time.
'This is bad, we can't run away as well since Sachi can only carry one person at most.' Kei thought as she bit her lip in worry.
There was only one thing left to do.
"Sachi get the little girl away from here now!" Kei said, shocking the Exceed but before she could even refuse, Kei gently shoved the girl to Sachi.
"B-but, what about you? You can't fight them all by yourself." Sachi said and Kei gave her a small smile.
"Come on, I'm the sister of one of the strongest mages of all time, and the mate of the Dragon Prince, I won't let these things beat me." Kei reassured and albeit reluctantly, Sachi flew away, holding the little brunette's back tightly.
Kei then watched them leave with a sigh of relief before she held onto her sword tightly, cautiously looking if they were about to make a move.
One of the hatchlings then jumped at Kei, who quickly slashed it with her sword with ease.
After seeing their 'ally' get attacked, the multitude of hatchlings then charged at her. Despite the terrifying numbers, Kei managed to keep her cool and evade their attacks while striking them back as well.
Though, one of the hatchlings snuck up behind her and jumped at her, Kei then turned around to see this, and braced for the attack to hit her.

…
But the black haired female didn't feel any pain. Kei then slowly opened her eyes, seeing a familiar man with black hair and all around him was the hatchling on the ground, completely burnt.
"Kei, are you alright?" Natsu asked as he looked at her in worry as Kei smiled at her mate who was there, once again, to save her.
"Don't worry, I'm fine, after all, you saved me." Kei said and Natsu smiled when he heard that before he looked around to see the many of the hatchlings lying on the ground.
"I'm not even surprised with what I'm seeing here." Natsu said and Kei pouted when she heard that.
"Hey, I can be as strong as you are, alright. I don't want to be protected all the time, I want to show you that I'm strong on my own, even without magic." Kei said and Natsu placed a hand on her cheek with a soft smile on his face.
"I already know that you're strong, Kei. After all, you managed to hold your own against the leader of the 12 Dragon Knights, heck, you even beat me when I was considered as an A-rank mage at the time." the small look of worry flashed in his eyes.
"Kei, you're the strongest person that I know, but that doesn't mean it would ease my worry whenever I'm not with you. You're the most important person in my live and I have to make sure that nothing ever happens to you." Natsu said passionately and Kei smiled when she heard that, placing her hand atop of his, feeling the warmth that emitted from his hand alone.
"How do you think I feel whenever you're fighting all the toughest mages in all of Ishgar despite being hurt?" A hint of playfulness laced in her tone as she said that as she brought the Dragon Prince closer so she could place a quick peck on his lips.
"I love you more than anything in this world, Natsu." Natsu smiled as he held her close to him, placing his forehead atop of hers.
"I love you too, Kei."
The two kept their embrace for a few minutes before separating, reluctantly I might add.
"So, where are you headed to now?" Kei asked and Natsu closed his eyes and began sniffing the air to search for Rogue's presence.
"Judging from his smell, he's quite a way's away from here and if I'm right, he's headed towards the Eclipse Gate and try to find a way back up on Motherglare's back." Natsu said and Kei nodded her head.
"What are you going to do?" Natsu then smirked when he looked up. Kei, confused by his actions, looked up as well and saw two dragons fighting in the air, with one of them being Atlas Flame.
Kei's eyes widened in shock as she realized what her mate was about to do and when she was about to ask the Dragon Prince, she saw him grinning at her direction.
"Tell me, Kei. Have you ever wanted to ride on an actual dragon before?"

Meanwhile, with all the other mages throughout the city, they were all battling it out against Motherglare's hatchlings, but due to them using too much of their magic and the large amount of enemies, they were slowly being overpowered by them. Though, they weren't having the most difficult task of all. That belonged to the Dragon Slayers who were busy fighting the other dragons roaming about.
"Tch, this is getting annoying." Laxus muttered as he slammed a fist engulfed in electricity at Zirconis's head, sending the dragon back from the force of the attack.
"That actually hurt a bit, for that…" Zirconis slammed his Laxus to the ground, pinning him using his giant hand.
"All this fighting is making me hungry, and there just so happen to be a human right here." Zirconis licked his lips as Laxus desperately tried to escape the dragon's grip, but couldn't.
Wendy, who was on the ground, tried to fire out her Dragon's Roar to, at the very least, create some distance between the dragon and Laxus, but due to her lack of energy, she couldn't do so.
"Laxus!" Wendy cried out in horror when she saw the dragon lift the blonde closer to his mouth which was agape.
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!" The Jade Dragon suddenly roared out in pain, dropping Laxus in the process when he felt an immense pain from his head before he fell to the ground, unconscious.
Both Wendy and Laxus both turned to see none other than Natsu Dragneel with a grin on his face.
"Looks like that's 1-0 to the Dragon Slayers." He said and Laxus scoffed but couldn't stop the smile from appearing on his face.
"Of course YOU needed to be the one that finishes him off." Laxus said in annoyance as Natsu merely shrugged at the statement.
"I mean, it's not my fault you couldn't defeat him." Natsu said nonchalantly causing Laxus to growl at him before turning over to Wendy who had been panting heavily.
"You okay Wendy? You should take a break if you feel the need to." Natsu said in concern but the bluenette shook her head with a small smile on her face.
"D-don't worry about me. I have all the energy in the world! Besides, we can't rest when there are other dragons in the city." Natsu smiled at her determination, but he knew that she was already past her limit and if she were to carry on, she'd faint, and he didn't want Grandeeney to attack him for not helping her 'daughter' out.
So, Natsu gave a soft chop to the back of Wendy's neck, causing her eyes to roll to the back of her head, as he caught her before she fell to the ground.
"Are you sure about that? Now we have one less Dragon Slayer." Laxus said and Natsu pointed at the knocked out Zirconis.
"I just evened out the playing field, besides…" a look of seriousness appeared on his face as he looked up, his assumption being right as he saw Rogue standing on Motherglare's back.
"I'm going to end this once and for all."

"Motherglare, it's time to finish this once and for all! Use your roar and destroy all these pesky mages who are in the way of a new empire!" Motherglare then roared before it began inhaling some air.
However, before it could even release its breath attack, Atlas Flame bumped into the dragon, pushing it back. Not only that, but a massive beam suddenly struck Motherglare directly, causing it to cry out in pain, almost losing momentum in the air.
Rogue turned around to see none other than Happy growling at him, anger momentarily passing through his eyes when he saw yet another interference in his way.
However, before he could do anything about it, he had to quickly grip onto the dragon's scales tightly as Motherglare was sent crashing into a building, by none other than Atlas Flame.
Rogue then growled at all of the interferences he was experiencing as he glared at Atlas Flame only to see a woman with black haired standing atop its head.
Kei was gripping onto the Atlas Flame's body tightly and at first, she was quite surprised that she wasn't burnt when touching his body despite his body being completely made out of fire. And the dragon's explanation to that?
"As the mate of my kin, my body will not hurt them since I consider them my kin as well."
Kei then turned down to see Natsu pointing a thumbs-up at her, a signal she understood immediately.
"Atlas Flame, we need to distract both Rogue and Motherglare now!" Atlas Flame nodded as he instantly flew in towards Motherglare at a very fast speed.
Motherglare, seeing this, instantly charged in as well, colliding with one another midway as neither were giving any signs of surrendering to one another.
This gave Rogue the chance to get a clear view as to who the woman was, and once again, he was confused.
'That woman, who is she?' Rogue then shook his head from the thought. After all, anyone who opposed to the change he would bring are nothing more than interferences.
Rogue then raised his hand in order to attack Kei, but before he could even activate it, someone jumped onto him, pushing him towards the end of Motherglare's body and the man from the future didn't even need to look up to see who had done it. There was only one person after all.
Natsu Dragneel.
Rogue then slowly got up and the two Dragon Slayers locked eyes with one another with neither one blinking or looking away. Rogue was the first to break eye contact as he charged at the black haired Dragon Prince.
"Shadow Dragon's Slash!" Rogue then covers his arm in shadows as he sent a punch at Natsu's direction.
Natsu then dodged the attack, but Rogue wasn't finished yet.
Shadow Dragon's Crushing Fang!" Rouge thengenerates shadows from his hand and unleashes them at Natsu.
Natsu quickly re-quipped his sword and slashed the attack in half before it managed to even hit him.
"Fire Dragon's Roar!" Natsu then fired a torrent of flames from his mouth at Rogue who immediately faded himself into the shadows, avoiding the attack as he began moving towards Natsu at a fast speed.
Natsu then looked around cautiously for Rogue and when the man from the future reappeared right in front of him and fired a large burst of shadows from his mouth at the Dragon Prince.
Natsu managed to block the attack, but since the attack was at such a small distance, the black haired male was pushed back from the breath attack.
"Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!" Natsu then brought out his two hands and flames start to gather around his hands which then resembled a Dragon's wing, Natsu then swung his hands, causing the flames to be fired at Rogue.
Rogue immediately jumped back in order to dodge the attack, however, it proved to be a mistake as Natsu appeared right in front of him, causing his eyes to widen in shock, before Natsu sent a punch at his gut with a flame engulfed fist, sending the Shadow Dragon Slayer back from the force of the punch.
"You know, I've been thinking about a whole lot ever since you've made your appearance, but there's always this one question I could never answer on my own. Why? Why did you come back here when you have so much power in your disposal?" Natsu said as Rogue slowly got up.
"It's because no matter how strong I get…Acnologia would always be there to ruin it." Natsu's eyes widened when he heard that name. It was definitely a name that would occasionally pop in conversation now as of late.
"Acnologia is going to ruin this world in seven years' time!" Rogue shouted and Natsu glared at the man in front of him.
"So instead of trying to encourage your past self in order to get stronger or warn people of the future, you plan on stealing everyone's future for you to be a king?!" Natsu shouted furiously.
"For the sake of our future, I will do what I must." Natsu clenched his fists tightly at what he heard as he glared at the man in front of him.
"I'm not going to let you get your way, not now, not EVER!" Natsu shouted as he charged at Rogue.
"I won't let you stop me! White Shadow Dragon's Rough Silk!" Activating his White Shadow Dragon Mode, Rogue releases a multitude of very thin beams of light and shadows from his hand, all headed towards Natsu.
Natsu countered it by slashing his sword, firing out torrents of flames from it, countering Rogue's attack before he finally stood a few feet away from Rogue.
"White Shadow Dragon's Sword Horn!" Rogue turns his body into shadows and swirls around his target. He then propels himself at Natsu from underneath, as a beam of light.
Natsu merely stood in his place as he watched Rogue slowly get closer to him.
Finally, when Rogue was a mere inch away from reaching Natsu, the Dragon Prince managed to stop the attack. With a single hand.
"What?!" Rogue was shocked by what happened as Natsu sent a flame engulfed leg at Rogue's face, sending him back from the attack.
Rogue then panted heavily as he wiped away the blood from the corner of his mouth, looking at the bored expression on Natsu's face. And somehow the look on the black haired prince's face, triggered a memory inside Rogue's head.
A memory of a man with raven black hair staring down at a beaten and bruised Rogue on the ground. With the exact expression on his face.
"NATSU DRAGNEEL!"
Rogue then closed his eyes, focusing on the powers of both light and shadows in his left and right hands respectively. He then placed his hands together, causing Natsu to look cautiously as to what the man might do, combining the two elements together which appeared as a powerful spherical ball.
"You should be grateful, Dragneel. I've almost never used this technique on anyone before, so prepare to face my strongest move!" Rogue said before he fired a powerful blast made of light and shadows towards Natsu's direction.
"Natsu!" Kei shouted in worry after seeing the enormous blast headed towards her mate's way. And Natsu? Natsu merely smirked when he saw the massive attack headed his way.
"Dragon Prince's Secret Arts: Dragonic Oblivion Blade!" A powerful white aura suddenly surrounded the Dragon Prince as white flames began surrounding his entire body.
Rogue could only stare in awe and fear as he watched a powerful aura surrounding the Dragon Prince and for some odd reasons, he could see a silhouette of another Natsu behind him, but it appeared to resemble to that of a Dragon.
Natsu then shot upwards towards the sky in order to gain speed before firing back towards Rogue's direction, resembling that as a giant meteor.
The attack then struck Rogue directly, as both flew through the air towards one direction, the Eclipse Gate.
Back at the Eclipse Gate, Lucy and Yukino were trying to destroy the gate by means of using their Celestial Spirits in order to do so. However, it proved to be fruitless.
"It's pointless, the gate is made out of pure Magnanium and nothing can destroy it." Arcadios said and suddenly the night sky suddenly became bright and everyone looked up to see what looked like a giant meteor heading towards their direction.
"Everyone, run away!" Arcadios shouted as the meteor collided with the gate, creating a massive explosion which could be seen from others in distant lands.
Fortunately, everyone managed to escape the blast despite its largeness, though they were sent back from the aftershock of it, and they turned over to the site of destruction where they saw one Natsu Dragneel standing over the Future Rogue and surrounding him was supposed to be the Eclipse Gate.
"N-no way, he managed to break the door?" Arcadios said in disbelief, seeing the complete destruction of the gate right before his eyes.
"So, what will happen now?" Hisui asked.
"Well since the gate over here is broken, I assume that the gate from wherever that man came from shouldn't be functioning as well." An unknown voice said as everyone turned around to see none other than Leila who gave them all a smile.
"Hey there." She waved before turning over to look at the direction where Natsu was currently at.
'Natsu Dragneel, I do wonder. If the two of us were to fight, which one of us would pull out on top?' Leila thought to herself.
And speaking of Natsu, the Dragon Prince stood over Rogue and judging by the bruises and burns marks surrounding his entire body, he would appear to be just unconscious. Natsu then proceeded to drop to the ground, tiredly.
'Man, it's been fight after fight for me right now. I'm surprised I can still stay conscious after all of that.' Natsu thought to himself.
Behind him, Atlas Flame landed down gently which allowed Kei to jump down of the flaming dragons back with ease as Happy floated beside her.
Both were worried about Natsu's condition and when the two rushed over to Natsu, they saw the Dragon Prince giving them a thumbs-up and on his face was his signature toothy grin, making their worries disappear in an instant.
When they arrived, both immediately reprimanded him for being reckless and not trusting them enough regarding the Dragon King Festival before all was forgiven.
The moment was immediately interrupted by Atlas Flame who began glowing, something that caught all three's attention.
"It would seem that my time in this place is up." Atlas Flame said as he looked down at all three of his future kin.
"Natsu Dragneel, Kei Lumina and Happy, I will not forget you no matter what." Atlas Flame said before he disappeared right in front of them.
In fact, it wasn't just the flaming dragon, the other dragons and hatchlings located throughout the city also began to glow before they eventually returned back to their own timeline as well, something which confused all the mages who had been a part of the battle.
"W-what just happened? They all disappeared!"
"Who cares about what happened! It's finally over, we won!" With that, everyone began celebrating and cheering their victory and survival over the powerful forces that they were up against.
However, not all of them shared their enthusiasm as the other Dragon Slayers dropped to the ground in shame and disgust since they were unable to defeat a single dragon.
"Makes me sick whenever I hear that term now." Rogue said as he turned to Sting who shared the same look on his face.
Up above the city was none other than Mavis Vermillion as she stared sadly at the somber looks on the Dragon Slayer faces.
"None of the Dragon Slayers were able to take down a single dragon. All but Natsu." Mavis then began thinking about the black haired male ever since meeting him on Tenroujima Island.
'His power at that time would already be on par with some of the strongest mages in the world, but now? He's already beyond them. Just who are you, Natsu Dragneel?' Mavis thought to herself.
Unknowingly for her, she was about to find out soon.
A small while later, Rogue then woke up to see Natsu staring back at him, with Happy sitting on his shoulder and an unknown female beside him.
Future Rogue then looked at his hands and his eyes widened in shock when he saw it glowing. Rogue could immediately tell that he was returning back to his timeline, making his eyes soften.
"The shadows…" the statement came out croakily causing everyone to look at him.
"The shadows, they tried to consume me." Future Rogue started that caught all three's attention.
"No matter where I go, no matter where I hide, they would always be there behind me." Rogue closed his eyes as he stared at the dark blue skies that covered the night.
"They day that I lost Frosch was the day I was most vulnerable, allowing the shadows to consume me. Allowing us to become one." Rogue looked like he wanted to say something else, but due to a sudden surge of pain, he flinched.
But Natsu didn't even need him to say for him to know what he wants. After all, he's seen it in his eyes.
The want to protect someone important.
"Frosch is not going to die." Natsu said quickly.
"Be sure to tell me, a year from now to protect Frosch." Future Rogue said as he looked over to face Natsu and the woman beside him once more.
"Natsu, there's…one more thing I need to tell you." Rogue said as parts of his body began disappearing into yellow dust.
"The one who sent the world into a catastrophic state, wasn't Acnologia….it was…" However, before Rogue could finished, he completely disappeared from the timeline, returning back to his own, though his final words definitely caused questions to arise.
'Acnologia wasn't the cause of everyone's death in the future? Then who was it?' Natsu asked and he could immediately detect the worry coming from his mate, so he wrapped his arm around her shoulder protectively.
"Don't worry about it Kei, whatever happens, I'll be there with you, alright?" Natsu said with a smile and Kei smiled back before deciding to lie on Natsu's broad shoulders.
However, despite the Dragon King Festival ending there, the battle…wasn't over just yet.
A deafening roar could be heard throughout the entire city of Crocus as everyone in the city all quickly placed a hand over their ears.
Kei then turned over to Natsu and she was surprised to see the Dragon Prince looking quite tensed, a serious look on his face.
"Natsu, what was that?" Kei asked and Natsu turned to her and the black haired female could detect the anger in his eyes.
"She's arrived…" was all he said, confusing Kei but her answer was quickly answered when she saw an enormous dark creature with four huge claws which would seemed to be a four-legged one. Blue intricate markings are seen in its black body and a pair of giant wings flapped tremendously to keep its heavy body afloat to the sky.
It was none other than Acnologia.

After the end of the festival, an even bigger force appears onto the battlefield. Will the Goddess of Dragons' prediction be true or will the Prince save everyone and finally bring the peace they all desire.

Natsu Dragneel: *Appears out of corner* Hey there dude.

Natsu Dragneel: *Shrugs* Meh, just came by to check on you is all.
Christopher Dragkrow: Well, I'm fine. Also, be prepared.
Natsu Dragneel: *Raises eyebrow* Be prepared for what?
*Door bell rings*

Natsu Dragneel: *Opens the door and sees a red haired woman*
Erza Scarlet: Hello Natsu.
Natsu Dragneel: *Pales and quickly crashes into a wall to run away*
