Thorn is up to his old tricks! I am not sure why I feel as though he would get so focused that he forgets to sleep, but it plays well into my headcanon, so I'll keep them up!

The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "I love you from the bottom of my heart, but I don't trust your cooking. Stay out of my kitchen."

"And what do you think that you're doing?"

Thorn stopped mid-stretch for the measuring cup on the top shelf to turn towards the voice that had broken through his inner monologue. He had stayed overnight at Gunnar and Jacoba's place (though that hadn't been by his own choice; though it was his own fault for forgetting to sleep) the night before and now he was hungry. So, he thought that he had sneakily made his way down to the kitchen in order to make some breakfast for the household. It would seem as though he hadn't been sneaky enough, however, as evidenced by the fact that Jacoba was standing in the doorway with her arms crossed and right eyebrow raised.

"Are you just going to stand there and stare at me, or are you actually going to answer me, little brother?"

He gave her a sheepish smile as she moved to stand next to him, that questioning look still on her face. "I was attempting to figure out an answer that would get me in the least amount of trouble."

Jacoba sighed and shook her head slightly before looking over at Thorn once again. "You know the rules, brother. I love you from the bottom of my heart, but I don't trust your cooking one bit. You need to stay out of my kitchen."

"You know, I was never actually told why that rule came about. Because I am not that bad of a chef."

Jacoba gave him a look of mild concern as he said this particular comment. "Thorn, the last time that you were left in one of the kitchens unsupervised, we had to replace the entire set of pots and pans at the hanger. Not to mention that we were all scraping whatever the hell type of concoction that you were attempting to cook off of the walls and the ceiling for over a week!"

"That was only one instance! And I was just trying to make some mac and cheese. It wasn't my fault that it was so hard to make!"

"And that you are so easily distracted, especially when you haven't slept in days and are focused more on your projects than anything else? Because we both know that those factors played a part in what happened."

"Shut up, sister."

"Only if you stay out of the kitchens if you are not there to exclusively get coffee."

"Deal. Now, could you please make some pancakes?"
