A continuation of one of the earlier prompts! This gives a bit more of a backstory for the Chapter entitled "Fire Bug."

The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "Technically it wasn't on fire."

"Of course, it wasn't on fire! You completely blew it up!"

"Do I even want to know what happened?"

Jacoba and Lee both rolled their eyes as they leaned against their respective motorcycles facing Barney, who was working on his truck in the hanger's garage. Caesar and Toll were nearby, working on their own bikes and prepared to insert their own comments as the other two briefed Barney on what had happened.

"Well, probably not, boss man. But you have to hear it anyway."

Barney sighed before making a waving gesture with his hand. "Alright, then. Lay it on me."

Lee then waved at Jacoba, indicating that she should take point on this conversation. So, she did. "Well, we had been staking out the target from outside a restaurant on the other side of the street from his business for a couple of days. It had been the perfect spot to do so and we had rotated who was there. First day was Lee and I, then Toll and Caesar, and would have continued in that vein. The third day, Lee and I had been sitting there for about twenty minutes or so when something caught his eye over my shoulder. Now, he was facing towards the inside of the restaurant and he later told me that he had been watching the reflections in the window. It was just after this, which was also just after the target had entered his building, that Caesar appeared next to our table, attempting to ask a hypothetical question. A couple of minutes later, Toll goes running by saying that we should run now and talk later. When we got to the plane, Toll and Caesar, indirectly, explained that the latter had set fire to the hideout that we had been staying in, which was why they, and consequently we, were running."

By the time that Jacoba finished, Barney had stopped attempting to work on his truck and was, instead, glaring at the two firebugs, who were keeping their eyes on the motorcycles in an attempt to avoid looking at the other three. "What the hell possessed you to light a fire in the first place, Caesar?"

"Well, firstly, Toll told me to."

"I said to set a small one!"

"And secondly, it technically wasn't on fire."

This last comment made Jacoba's gaze harden and she stood taller, glaring at the heavy weapons specialist. "Oh, no, Caesar, of course it wasn't on fire! Before we took off, we all heard the explosion. Meaning that you completely blew it up!"

Barney and Lee both groaned as Caesar and Toll both stood and began to argue with the Amazon. It seemed as though this was going to be a very long meeting.
