Chapter 16. Man, this story is really coming together. I remember when I first started this in May. And now we go forward. New arcs and so much more. And thank you to those who participated in the Q . It ain't much but. It means a great deal to see people curious about the story. And with that out of the way, here's the next chapter. Chapter 16: Sword in the Stone
An explosion happened at the bank. From it, came the Circus Freaks. Frightwig led the group as they had a good amount of cash.
Frightwig smirked. "What a haul, boys. Let's get this back to the boss."
Thumbskull laughed. "We've never had a score this good."
Acid Breath carried his bag of cash. "Indeed."
Before they could run away, a blaster bolt hit the ground in front of them. They turned and saw Ben standing there, Evie by his side.
Evie was doing a heroic pose with her little hands on her hips.
Ben chuckled. "Back to your old tricks? I should have expected so."
Frightwig growled. "You're supposed to be dead, you brat."
Ben smirked. "And you're supposed to be in prison. Plans change."
Evie looked at her dad. "Hero time?"
Ben nodded. "Hero time."
Both of them turned the dials on their Matrix's and pressed them. Evie was enveloped in pink energy and Ben was enveloped in his green energy.
When it wore off, the two hero's stood as their aliens.
Ben had transformed into Humongasaur, but he looked more like what the classic Omnitrix would make him look like. He had a black bandolier with a white stripe, black pants with white accents and the Omnitrix on the bandolier looked more like his classic Omnitrix badge design, white instead of green.
"Whoa!! Azmuth went retro with this one!!" He exclaimed as he looked at himself.
Evie had transformed into her version of Chromastone. "Ooooo this one's pretty, daddy!!" She looked like Sugolite except more feminine and she wore a blue and pink suit on her torso. She had two pink crystals protruding from her back and crystal frills on the sides of her head. "I'll call you…Amefyst (am-uh-fist)!!!"
The Freaks stepped back as the realization hit them. There were now two of them.
Humungasaur charged and struck thumbskull while Amefyst shot her energy beams at Acid Breath.
Frightwig ditched them and began to run away with the cash, but she then got punched in the face by Shar. "By the order of the Plumbers, you are under arrest!!"
Frightwig growled. "You furry bitch!!" Her hair tendrils started to attack Shar, but Shar was doing backflips, avoiding the whips.
Shar was temporarily Ben's partner until Rook healed up. And she was doing amazing.
Humungasaur was in a push off with Thumbskull. The Vaxasaurian gritted his teeth and began to grow, armor coating his body. He was shocked. "I can grow again!!" He smirked and knocked Thumbskull back. But the large freak got back up.
Humungasaur nodded. "Looks like it's time to try this new ultimate function." He pressed the dial on his chest as it turned and started to change Humungasaur. His legs were taller and he got more thin, but still muscular. His body became armored and his tail tip turned into a rock hammer, with spikes alongside the tail. His skin color changed from tan to a grayish black.
"Ultimate Humungasaur!!!" He towered over Thumbskull. The criminal gulped and U.H swung his tail, launching the large man away.
Amefyst was fighting AcidBreath. The young girl was still inexperienced, but with the Omnitrix showing her how to fight, she was holding her ground.
Until the acidic man spit on her arms, burning her. It hurt badly and made her feel terrible. She turned human, with tears welling up. She began to cry.
AcidBreath smirked and went to finish her off. Till daddy heard his little princess cry. U.H looked over and saw AcidBreath about to kill his daughter.
Frightwig and Shar looked over as they stopped fighting. They both knew this wouldn't end well.
U.H roared and stampeded towards the attacker. AcidBreath looked over like "Oh Shit".
CLASH!!
Dozens of bones and a jaw broke as the dino alien went nuts on the criminal.
Shar scooped up Evie, calming her down. She went to U.H and touched his scaly hide.
U.H looked and saw Shar. Evie was upset and this didn't help. He sighed and reverted to his human form. Frightwig took this chance to drag her accomplice away as an unknown beam teleported them away.
Evie reached for her daddy and Ben held her. "It's ok…daddy's here."
Evie cuddled in his arms. She was fine thankfully but she was shaken up.
Ben looked at Shar. "Let's get home. This will take a lot of ice cream to make it better."
"Chocolate ice cream?" Evie mumbled softly in his chest.
Ben smiled. "Yes, chocolate ice cream with sprinkles?"
Evie nodded and cuddled into him more.
Shar nodded as well with a soft smile. She took hold of Ben's arm, and the two went home.
They had a lot of comforting to do with their little girl.
A few days later, Ben was assigned a mission. Rook was feeling much better and ready for action. They were sent off to London as the remains of the Forever Knights were seen around there.
Max debriefed the duo. "You will be meeting up with Kai Green. Her and her grandfather were investigating something in London, but the Knights captured him. You will be meeting up with her to rescue Wes."
Ben groaned. "Really? Of all the people to get paired up with, Kai Green?"
Max retorted. "I know you have your history with her, but if the Forever Knights are involved, then it's serious."
Ben sighed and nodded. "Fine…for the good of the world, I'll put my differences aside."
Max nodded. "Go see Blukic and Driba before you leave. They have some modifications for your arm."
A few minutes later, Ben was sitting in the lab with the Galvins adding some new attachments to Ben's arm.
Driba was welding. "A grappling hook, a scanner…oooo energy blade!!"
Blukic shook his head. "No, you gotta worry about defense too. Add a shield, EMP generator, and blaster."
Driba shook his head. "No it must be offense!!"
Blukic argued. "No, defense!!"
"Offense!!"
"Defense!!"
The Galvins began to slap fight each other till Ben separated them. "Enough. Damn, the one thing I didn't miss was you two incessantly fighting. Compromise and add only what you need. The blade, hook, scanner, shield. That's it. I already have a blaster."
The two nodded and made the modifications. Ben's arm never felt better.
A bit later, the two were flying over the ocean in the Proto-TRUK, in silence.
Ben decided to break the silence. "Are you mad at me?"
Rook looked over. "For what?"
"You know...hurting you, breaking a few bones." Ben replied. "I…I'm so sorry, Rook.."
Rook said. "Ben…you have no reason to be sorry. You had no control over your body. You were forced against your will to do terrible things...do not blame yourself." He smiled.
Ben nodded then smiled. "So…how do you feel about me being your future brother in law?" He chuckled.
Rook shrugged. "I feel great about it. You have shown my sister true love and you show her the same amount of love that you share with your other lovers. But…when you do marry her, it will have to be on Revonnah. It has been one of her dreams for years."
Ben nodded. "Can do. I really want to make her dream come true. I've been working on something special. Rings for all the girls, for me to propose with."
Rook nodded. "And how do you expect to propose to them all?"
Ben smirked. "I have ideas."
Rook chuckled. "I could say the same with Rayona."
The ship continued to fly, eventually arriving in London.
Ben had a sinking feeling in his stomach. He really didn't want to see Kai, especially after the little stunt she pulled at Gwen and Kevin's party.
Kai, on the other hand, was feeling the opposite. She felt terrible about what she did and felt ashamed for her actions.
She rubbed her arm as she saw the ship land and it reverted back to truck mode. She watched Rook get out and saw Ben follow.
She was shocked about his appearance. He was more broad and muscular since she last saw him. Not to mention his scarred face and cybernetic eye.
Kai had no words as Ben walked up to her. She was still in shock.
Ben decided to say the first word. "It's been a while, Kai..."
He even sounded different. This wasn't that boy she met in the valley as a kid, the boy she tried to turn into a pet and that boy who snapped at her a few months back.
Kai took a deep breath and spoke. "Thank you for coming to help…I know I don't deserve your help…but…my grandpa is captured. I don't think he's in too much danger as he can take care of himself, but I'm still worried…"
Rook nodded. "I see…what were you investigating?"
Kai replied. "An ancient weapon, capable of destruction beyond our grasp. Excalibur?"
Ben and Rook looked at each other, raising their eyebrows. Ben turned to Kai. "Excalibur is just a myth, a bedtime story."
Kai pulled out a journal. "According to Grandpa, it's real." She opened it and it showed a painting of a knight wielding a glowing blade.
Ben looked at it. "Almost reminds me of Ascalon. It's another powerful sword, which I used to defeat a Dagon-Powered Vilgax."
Rook looked at the image. "There is something in the image."
Kai nodded. "It's some kind of ancient language. We put it through ciphers, but it came up with nothing."
Rook looked over at Ben. "Try the translator Azmuth installed."
Ben nodded. "Right. Almost forgot." His eye extended into a lense and scanned the paper.
Kai asked. "What does it say?"
Ben retracted his lense and said. "It's coordinates to a cemetery." He gave the location to Rook to search up.
While Rook was searching in the database, Kai and Ben started to talk.
Kai started. "Ben…I'm sorry for everything I've done…I shouldn't have treated you like an animal when we were kids…and…I shouldn't have said those things to your girlfriends or your daughter...I was immature and a total bitch…if you don't want to forgive me, I understand. I just…"
Ben then said. "Kai…I forgive you…I've acted like that before and it took almost dying to change my perception…I'm so happy you realized it before it was too late...thank you for apologizing."
She smiled and held out her hand." Friends?"
Ben shook her hand. "Friends..."
Rook came back. "I have the location: HighGate Cemetery. It's not too far from here."
Ben nodded. "Let's get-" Ben's phone rang. He answered. "Hello?"
It was Ester. She was currently doing dishes. "Hey sweetie. Just calling to check in."
Ben smiled. "Oh we're doing well. Just about to wrap this mission up and we will be on our way home."
Ester giggled. "I can't wait. Me and the girls have a very special surprise for you tonight."
Ben blushed. "Sounds...good. I'll be sure to be home soon."
"Please be safe. Love you." She made a kiss noise and hung up.
Ben smiled and looked. "Let's get moving."
The trio made their way to the cemetery. Ben looked around. "Well…now what do we do?"
Kai replied. "There is a symbol around here..." She showed both of them.
It looked like a triangular shape with hieroglyphics in it. It was gold and very intricate.
Rook pulled out his scanner and began to look.
Kai took out his flashlight and searched the tombstones. Ben used his scanner. The trio searched the entire cemetery.
They didn't find anything.
Ben was frustrated, but then suddenly he groaned as he held his head. He started to see visions of symbols and he fell to the ground.
Kai and Rook ran over. Ben got up. "We're close…I can feel it…" He walked over to a statue and touched it. The symbol began to glow and reveal itself.
Kai smiled. "Jackpot!!"
"Jackpot indeed." A voice said.
The trio turned and there stood Driscoll, the Forever King. He wore new armor that looked similar to his old one but more sleek and darker colors. He had three red knights. They were similar to his old bodyguard, but improved.
Ben chuckled. "You're still kicking, Driscoll? I thought you died during the Dagon attack?"
Driscoll growled. "You're mistaken, boy. I am alive and well. The Forever Knights are finally back under my control and when I get my hands on Excalibur….no alien will even consider-"
SPLAT!!!
Ben had turned into Stinkfly, with more stripes on his body and longer legs and stingers. He had shot a glob of slime at Driscoll.
"Ya, ya. Cliché bad guy speech. Attack!!!" The trio began to charge at the Knights. But were stopped when they revealed their prisoner: Kai's grandfather.
Kai said. "Grandpa!!"
Wes looked beaten, but still alive.
Ben growled as he turned human. "What have you done to him?!"
Driscoll smirked. "We had to…persuade him to cooperate but he's proven valuable as a source of information. But now…we don't need him."
One of the ninjas pulled out a knife to kill Wes until Ben stopped them. "Wait…don't hurt him. I'll take you to the sword as long as you spare him…"
Driscoll chuckled. "Deal, but for insurance…he stays with us as we retrieve the sword."
Rook looked at Ben. "Ben, you can not do this. If the Forever Knights get the sword, it is over."
Wes groaned. "He's right, Ben…don't risk the fate of the world for a fossil like me…"
Ben said. "It's the only way..." He touched the symbol on the stone as it glowed.
On the ground, a secret stairwell opened.
Ben walked down the stairs as everyone else followed.
After going down the stairs, they entered a chamber.
In the center of the room, in a stone…was the sword.
It looked almost alien, with an intricate design( For reference, look up Excalibur from AC Valhalla.)
Ben was in awe of this beautiful piece of weaponry. But it was cut short as Driscoll pushed past him, a devious smirk on his face. "Finally...after so many years of searching…it's finally mine!!" He grabbed the hilt and started to pull. The sword wouldn't budge. He growled and continued to pull, no luck.
As Driscoll was distracted, Wes was able to break free of his bonding and the group attacked the Knights.
Wes got his hands on his blaster that the ninjas had taken and started blasting. Kai used her martial art skills to take on of them down as Rook was fighting the last one with his blade.
Ben removed his jacket, revealing his cybernetic arm. He rushed towards Driscoll, delivering a punch to the enemy's face. Driscoll groaned. "Insignificant speck!!" He removed his hand from the blade to fight Ben.
Ben smirked. "Time for an upgrade. Omni-Armor: Fourarms!!"
He got enveloped in the green energy, with armor forming that resembles Fourarms. Including the two additional arms.
The two began to trade blows. Ben's new armor gave him an edge. Driscoll was knocked against the wall, but fired a blast from his fist that sent Ben flying backwards. Ben hit the wall, with some bricks collapsing on him. He reverted back to his human form as he went limp.
Rook looked. "Ben!!" He got taken out by a punch to the face and fell.
Kai and Wes got taken down, with Driscoll laughing. It seemed this was it.
Wes looked up at Driscoll.
Driscoll chuckled. "Sorry, Wes. It must-"
SHING!!!!
Driscoll turned around and there was Ben...holding the sword. It sent a wave of energy through the room. The blades yellow energy became green and began to fuse with Ben's arm. He was shocked as his arm became more…alien. It became more sleek with green energy lines going down the arm. The Infitrix had more gold accents. He felt powerful.
Driscoll stepped back as Ben smirked. He raised his arm, holding the sword. The three ninjas ran toward Ben. He began to slice and dice the three bots, slicing them into pieces. Driscoll felt true fear as he saw this boy staring at him.
SLICE!!
Ben cut a hole in the suit and pulled Driscoll out, throwing him on the ground. He tried to run away, but Wes bricked him in the face, dropping him to the ground.
Ben put the sword on his back, fastening a holster for it.
They all went back to the surface and closed the tomb.
Wes tied up Driscoll as Ben and Kai were saying their goodbyes.
Kai smiled. "Thank you for helping me, Ben…"
Ben rubbed his head. "It was nothing…"
Kai hugged Ben and hehugged back.
Rook loaded up Driscoll, he got in the truck afterwards. Ben followed and they took off.
Ben looked at the sword. "I still don't understand..."
Rook looked over. "How do you mean?"
"Why did it choose me…why am I worthy?" Ben replied as he held the sword.
Rook answered. "You humbled yourself over these past few months. You went from an arrogant child to a strong, brave man. You put others above yourself and you go beyond expectations. I can not think of anyone more worthy than you." The Revonnahgander smiled.
Ben smiled back. "You're right…now, let's get home. I'm beat."
The Proto-Truk flew away from London and towards home.

Well, that concludes Chapter 16. I think it went rather well. Ben and Kai made up, Excalibur has been found and Driscoll defeated. Next four chapters will be a huge arc, ending with the season finale. Then a good break as I finish the first chapters for my other stories.
