…This turned out to be a bit darker than expected. I blame the yandere roleplays I've been listening to.

Canfemmania: Hunted Hunter
Alexandra sighed in boredom, looking at all of the vampire aristocrats surrounding her. Almost all of them were in pairs.
She knew that having a mate was a mark of status, especially one from another noble family. And while she had been approached a few times, she only saw simpering weaklings among the other high vampires.
She hated these annual gatherings. She always left with a bitter taste in her mouth, and a frustrated feeling. She wanted a mate too, but she didn't want someone so weak. She wanted someone that could keep up with her, and someone who wouldn't let the status of the other vampires affect them. Someone that could challenge her, both physically and intellectually.
She'd also searched among the lower vampires in her coven, but none of them were right for her. Some of them were weak, and those with enough strength lacked in intelligence. It was impossible to find the ideal mate.
But she wouldn't stop trying.
…
"You ready to go?" Alfred asked.
Matthew turned to his brother and nodded, putting on his coat. Alfred and Matthew were vampire hunters, and the city they lived in was infested with vampires. It would especially be bad since there was a gathering of all the high vampires. They didn't get their hopes up that they would find one of those vampires, but they always travelled with a few of their lesser vampires. Those were the vampires that the brothers intended to hunt.
Though they wouldn't complain if they happened to find one of the high vampires.
"Come on," Alfred said.
…
Alexandra had slipped out of the party, donning some 'normal' clothes in order to blend in with the humans. She wasn't particularly hungry, instead she was hoping to find some amusement.
The city had a very active nightlife, and she had to smile. She knew that this place was the perfect hunting ground, and she briefly contemplated partaking in it, or at least watching someone take advantage of the situation.
She happened to see a man and woman leave a nightclub, and she knew that the woman was a vampire, while the man was a human. Deciding that this could be interesting, she decided to follow. It didn't really surprise her that the vampire led her victim into an alley.
She watched what started out as a make out session, and felt her annoyance grow. She didn't want to see something like this. Then the woman started kissing along the man's jawline, and Alexandra smirked when she realised the moment that she would strike.
However, what she had expected would happen, didn't. Instead, the woman cried out in pain, and Alexandra could see a stake protruding from her chest. It would seem that the human was a hunter.
She watched as the vampire turned to dust, but she had lost interest in the woman. Instead, she was watching the hunter.
He wasn't bad-looking. He didn't have that rugged look that hunters tended to have. Instead, his features were quite soft. Almost delicate, though he had a strong build, which he hid underneath a thick coat. And that wasn't all that he hid. She could briefly see a few weapons, and knew that there would be more.
His eyes were an unusual colour, somewhere between blue and purple. And his hair was an interesting shade of blond. His eyes were hidden behind a pair of glasses, and there was an errant curl, making him look slightly adorable.
And it wasn't just his appearance that caught her attention. The way that he lured the other vampire into a trap… Not to mention the fact that his presence was rather subdued. She usually had little problem identifying hunters, but she had been ignorant of his nature until he struck.
He intrigued her, and she wanted to learn more about him. So she plastered a smile on her face as she emerged from the shadows.
"That was quite impressive," she said.
He was immediately alert, removing a stake. She grinned. He had good reflexes.
"May I ask your name?" she asked.
"And why would you want to know that?" he demanded.
"I like to know the names of my prey. Makes them more interesting."
He tensed at the word 'prey', but it wasn't out of fear. He was preparing himself for an attack. His eyes kept shifting, judging the distance between them. He was too far away for him to make the first move, so he would wait for her.
She took note of this fact, and shifted her weight to the side. He didn't rush, but she could see that he was prepared. He wouldn't do anything to endanger himself.
"No?" she asked playfully. "You're not going to answer my question? Not very polite, are you?"
"I don't see how I should be polite to a vampire," he said.
"Now, that hurts my feelings," she said.
She moved fast. Before he realised it, she had him pinned against the wall, her hands grabbing hold of his wrists, preventing him from attacking. She beamed, showing off her fangs when she realised that he was indeed strong, but not strong enough. Not strong enough to fight her off.
Not that he didn't try. He struggled against her hold, and she leaned closer.
"How many high vampires have you encountered?" she whispered.
He froze, eyes widening. She chuckled, and took in his scent.
"You smell sweet," she said. "Like the sap of a maple tree."
"Who are you?" he demanded.
"Now, you wouldn't answer my question, so why should I answer yours?"
He looked conflicted for a moment, and she could feel his pulse quickening. His eyes also flickered around, and by that action, she knew that he had a companion nearby. He would try stalling, and she would have to listen closely.
"…Matthew," he said at last.
"That wasn't so hard, was it?" she whispered. "My name is Alexandra Lupenescu."
His eyes widened marginally, and she knew that he recognised her name. His attempts to struggle increased, but all that he was managing was to tire himself out.
"Why don't we play a little game?" she asked. "I'll ask you a few riddles. See if you can answer them."
"And what happens if I can't?" he asked.
"Don't worry. They're rather simple."
He swallowed nervously. She had to commend him for his ability to remain calm in the face of danger. He wasn't ignorant of the danger, but he tried to keep a calm mind.
"Alright," he said.
"Good," she said. "'You'll never see one of these if you stay in the daylight. But beware when night-time comes as your neck might feel a bite'."
He took a shaky breath.
"Vampire," he said.
"Very good," she said. "'I'm something that is red. Lose too much and you're dead'."
As she said this, she leaned closer to his neck, whispering the last sentence.
"Blood," he said.
"Good," she said. "Now…"
She heard a clicking sound, and she had the presence of mind to leap out of the way, scaling the wall. She looked down at the other hunter, and noticed the resemblance to Matthew. He had a crossbow aimed at her, and she made sure to keep her heart out of the line of fire.
"It would seem our fun was interrupted," she sighed, before looking down at Matthew. "I'll see you soon."
And she disappeared into the night, deciding that she would make Matthew hers.
…
Matthew leaned against the wall, his legs buckling beneath him. Alfred glared after the vampire – Alexandra – before rushing towards him.
"What took you so long?" Matthew asked dryly.
"I didn't realise you needed help," Alfred said. "But when you took too long… How did she corner you like that?"
"She's a high vampire. Lupenescu."
Alfred's eyes widened, and he quickly examined Matthew.
"She didn't bite you, did she?" Alfred asked.
"No," Matthew said, rolling up his sleeve.
The two of them winced when they saw Matthew's bruises. They were still forming, and they knew that it would look horrible in the morning.
"…We're going home," Alfred said.
"What?" Matthew asked. "But I…"
"Mattie, you were cornered by a high vampire. And from the sounds of things, she's not finished with you. And you're shaking. There's no way that you can continue working tonight. You don't want to end up dead, do you?"
Matthew sighed, shaking his head. Reluctantly, the two brothers started making their way back to their shared house, keeping an eye peeled to try to see if the vampire was anywhere nearby. The hairs on the back of Matthew's neck stood on end, and he had the distinct feeling that he was being watched.
All things considered, it was not a good sensation.
Matthew's thoughts kept drifting to the encounter in the alleyway. He didn't understand it, but he couldn't sense hostility from her. She was playing with him the whole time. And what was with those riddles? Though, the answers to those riddles chilled him slightly.
And he hated to admit it, but she was beautiful. He supposed that it was the mark of a high vampire. He just couldn't forget what she was.
…
Matthew groaned, opening his eyes. He felt dizzy, and his throat burned. His arms also felt numb.
His eyes widened when he realised that he was chained against a wall, his shirt removed. He didn't recognise the room at all, and he tried very hard to remember what happened.
"Oh, you're awake."
He recognised that voice. It was the voice that had been whispering in his dreams. And when the woman the voice belonged to came into view, Matthew felt his heart sink.
"Alexandra," he whispered.
"You remember me," she said. "That makes me happy."
"Where am I? What do you want with me?"
Alexandra giggled, and she sauntered up to him. He twitched when the tips of her fingers brushed against his chest.
"I've been watching you since our meeting," she whispered. "And the more I watched, the more I knew that I had to have you."
"And what are you going to do to me?" Matthew asked, dreading the answer.
She leaned closer, and whispered into his ear.
"The one thing I've been wanting for a while," she whispered, "is a mate. And I found that in you."
His eyes widened in realisation, and he struggled in his bonds.
"That won't happen!" he snapped.
"Oh, but it's already begun," she said. "Aren't you feeling unusually thirsty right now?"
He felt a jolt when he realised that he was feeling thirsty. And, despite how he was feeling, he couldn't feel his heartbeat.
"That's right," she said. "You're already one of us. And the fact that you've kept your sanity means that I was right to choose you."
"I won't…" Matthew started.
"Don't worry," she said, leaning up to kiss him on the lips. "It's only a matter of time before you come to my way of thinking."
The prompt is: 'Imagine Person A of your OTP being a high vampire, while Person B is a hunter. Person A needs a mate and witnesses Person B in action as a hunter and falls instantly in love with them, and soon decides that they want B as their mate.'
I was also asked for a female Romania with the name Alexandra.
The poll will be up until Friday the 13th, so if you hadn't yet, go vote.
