DenEgy: Biking Accident

Gupta sighed, glancing down at his watch. He was standing on the corner of the street, waiting for his half-brother to arrive. He went over towards the edge of the curb, trying to see if he could see Heracles's car.

"Wha-!"

That was all warning Gupta received before he felt an intense amount of pain against his leg as he was sent sprawling to the ground. Someone else fell on top of him.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" the man exclaimed.

It took Gupta a moment to process what had happened as he saw the bicycle nearby. It would seem that this blond man had collided with him when he'd moved. The man must have been pretty close when Gupta moved and didn't have enough time to stop or adjust his course.

The man quickly stood, holding out his hand for Gupta. The Egyptian accepted, and as the man helped him up, Gupta hissed in pain.

"Oh no, you're bleeding!" the man exclaimed.

Gupta looked down and saw that he was indeed bleeding, though it looked more like a large scrape.

"I'm so, so sorry," the man said desperately.

"It's fine," Gupta said. "I just… ow."

"We need to get that taken care of. My house is two blocks away. Do you think you can make it?"

"My brother is coming soon, so don't worry about it. He has a car."

The man sighed in relief.

"That's good to know," he said. "But still, let me make it up to you somehow."

Gupta tried to say that it was fine, but the man was stubborn, and wouldn't relent until Gupta agreed to allow the other to take him out to lunch sometime. After agreeing on a time and place, Heracles's car drove by.

"Here he is," Gupta sighed.

"Again, I'm so sorry," the man said. "By the way, my name's Mathias."

"Gupta."

Mathias nodded his head, and waited until Gupta was in Heracles's car before he rode off. Heracles turned to his half-brother with an odd look.

"What was that about?" Heracles asked.

Gupta didn't answer, instead looking down at his injured leg and wincing slightly.

"Do you mind if we get this tended to first?" Gupta asked.

The prompt is: 'One accidentally bikes into the other.'
