Luciano smirked. It was the first night his boyfriend, Fryderyk, would be spending the night. He had plans.
However, those plans went out the window once he entered the room, and he actually stopped cold when the scent hit him.
"A bit potent, don't you think?" Luciano asked.
Fryderyk looked towards him, and the Pole was still rubbing insect repellent on his arm.
"You have no idea how necessary this is," Fryderyk said darkly.
"Are you seriously afraid of a few mosquitos?" Luciano asked.
"Hey, I'm a magnet for these things. Trust me, this is necessary."
Luciano rolled his eyes.
"Let's just go to sleep," he sighed.
It took the Italian an hour to get used to the scent of citronella.
…
"I don't believe it," Luciano said blankly, watching Fryderyk applying anti-itch cream. "How the hell did they manage to bite you? You were very thorough with the repellent."
"I told you," Fryderyk said. "I'm a magnet for these things."
Luciano could only shake his head.
"I guess it's a good thing vampires don't exist," Luciano said. "You'd probably be a gourmet meal for them."
"…Don't even joke about it," Fryderyk said.
I hate summer for two reasons: 1) I can't stand the heat (and I live in South Africa, which is not a cold country) and 2) mosquitos. Seriously, those things love me. I actually managed to get a bite despite being completely covered in Peaceful Sleep (a brand of mosquito repellent). They managed to find the one patch of skin I missed. I once couldn't sleep because of all of them buzzing in my room, and when I turned on the light there were 18 of them. Seriously, the ceiling was full of them. And the worst part is that we don't even live in an area where one would expect mosquitos, like near a river or anything.
I also renamed 2PPoland because I was a bit tired of everyone pointing out that his original name isn't a Polish name.
