Berwald grinned as the crowd cheered. It was deafening, even more than the music he and his group had just played. One wouldn't think that the person that hardly ever spoke would have a voice powerful enough for one of the most popular heavy metal bands.

He and the others went off the stage, and as soon as he could, he removed the contacts and makeup. He put on his glasses, the normal, intimidating glare staring back at him from the mirror. He'd always hated that glare, but in his genre, being intimidating scored you points.

He checked his watch. It was almost time.

Clara bowed, revelling in the thundering applause. Everyone loved her voice, and they even said that she might have been one of the best opera stars of this generation.

With her bouquet of roses, she made her way back to her dressing room. And she wasn't surprised to see who was waiting for her.

"You look beautiful," Berwald said.

She smiled, before standing on tiptoes to kiss him.

"Wait…" he said.

"Oh calm down," she said. "No one who listens to you would be here."

He chuckled, and the two entered their dressing room.

"So, how was your concert?" she asked.

"It was great," he said. "My heart is still pumping."

"So, you're excited?"

"Of course."

He moved closer, and she raised her hand.

"Tomorrow, you're coming to my performance," she said. "I'll arrange a box for you, in the shadows. You can even bring your friends, if you want. Or do they still not know?"

"They don't know," he said.

Clara smiled.

"What do you think they'll say when they find out that the great bear likes opera?" she teased.

"They'll start asking if we want to branch into symphonic metal," he said.

She chuckled.

"You know, there really is such a subgenre," he said. "Combining metal with classical orchestra. Female vocalists usually have opera training."

She looked up at him.

"…We'll talk about that later," she said.

The prompt is: 'Imagine Person A of your OTP being a famous heavy metal rock star and Person B of your OTP being a famous Opera singer. Person A meets Person B one day and develops a huge crush on Person B, but they hide it because they don't want their other friends and fans to find out they fell in love with a classy opera singer.'

I had this pairing lined up, and when I revisited the prompt, I checked to see if any of the pairings would fit, and this was it. I did have to check nations that love opera, and the Czech Republic was on the list. And metal is popular in the Nordic countries.

I was actually listening to symphonic metal when I wrote this. It's definitely one of my favourite genres.
