CanGerMano: Secret Touch
"Out of the way, damn potato bastard."
Germany sighed when Romano passed him, but said nothing to the Italian. He was used to it, after all. He was also used to having the other Italian hanging onto his arm to the point where he could no longer feel his hand.
Romano scoffed, before he took a seat. He glared at the rest of the meeting room as he took out the necessary supplies from his briefcase. No one wanted to say anything to him.
Canada sighed, slightly shifting Romano so that they were both comfortable. It was the fifth meeting where Romano decided to sit on his lap. Thankfully, it wasn't someone of a heavier stature. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to make any notes, he contented himself with listening to everything happening in the meeting room.
In another corner of the room, France, Prussia and Spain were sitting, looking between the three younger nations.
"I wonder what went wrong," France sighed. "They were such good friends when they were children."
"I think it's because you lost Canada," Prussia said. "After he couldn't come to the playdates anymore, Luddy started being withdrawn."
"And Romano became more difficult," Spain sighed. "Now the other two don't even notice Canada, and Romano hates Germany, and Germany just lets things go on like that."
"C'est très triste," France sighed.
…
Canada looked at the slip of paper one more time before looking up at the restaurant's sign. This was the place.
As soon as he entered, his eyes immediately found one of the two people that he was looking for. Germany was there early, as usual. With a smile, Canada made his way towards Germany.
"Hi Ludwig," Canada greeted.
The German turned to him and smiled.
"Hello Matthew," he greeted back. "Any word on Lovino?"
Canada shook his head, sitting across from Germany. He perused the menu while they waited for the third member of the trio.
"My damn fratello wouldn't leave me alone," the familiar grumbling announced Romano's arrival.
"What excuse did you use this time?" Germany asked.
"I told him that I saw Russia."
Canada chuckled. They would always try to meet up during each conference period, always to a pricy place that was so far away that none of the other nations would bother going there.
The three had been friends as children, but once Canada became English territory, he couldn't visit the other two anymore. Romano and Germany tried to maintain a close friendship, but without Canada, it wasn't the same. And after they both became independent nations, they no longer had time for each other. It wasn't until World War Two that they were reunited, and Romano was upset at Germany, thinking that there was something going on between him and his brother. It took a long time for Germany to convince Romano otherwise.
And as for Canada, he had gone to Romano for advice on independence a bit earlier, and Germany had seen him on the battlefield. It wasn't until after the war that he was allowed to reconnect with the other two.
It took them a while to realise that their relationship was no longer one of friendship, but of love. And that the love was shared between the three of them. After a long discussion, they decided that a three-way relationship could have its advantages.
Such as Romano sitting on Canada's laps during meetings. It had happened that several other nations had sat on Canada, not realising that he was there. Romano made sure that no one else sat on Canada. And Canada had the opportunity to wrap Romano in a hug during the meetings.
They hadn't originally intended to hide their relationship, but when they realised how much grief they would get from their family members, they decided that secrecy was the better option.
The three of them enjoyed their dinner together, and when their time together was nearing its end, they started making plans for the next time they could meet.
