ItaLiet: Meeting
Lithuania sighed, sitting on the porch of Germany's house. Of course, he and the other Baltics had been dragged along to Russia's meeting with Germany. He didn't want to be there. Germany was also an intimidating nation, and considering Lithuania's history with Prussia, it wasn't a good idea for him to be anywhere near them.
"Oh, kitty, wait!"
Lithuania straightened when he heard the unfamiliar voice. The accent sounded neither Germanic nor Slavic. He turned around to see an unfamiliar brown-haired young man chasing after a cat, heading straight towards Lithuania.
Lithuania quickly stood, only for the cat to jump into his arms. He caught the creature and waited for the other to catch up.
"Ve, thank you," the other said, panting slightly. "You shouldn't run away from me, Pooky."
"Um, it's no problem," Lithuania said, trying to hand the cat over to the other male, only for the cat to refuse. "Come on."
He winced when the cat sank its claws into his arms, and he was forced to retract the cat, who then released its claws.
"Looks like she likes you," the smaller male said.
"I don't really understand why," Lithuania muttered. "I'm more of a dog person."
"Ve, but that must mean that you're a good person."
Lithuania couldn't help but smile at the other's statement.
"So, what's your name?" the other asked. "I'm Italy."
"I'm Lithuania," he introduced. "So, do you work for Germany or something?"
"Ve, I live with him. He's my friend. He's very nice. But, did you come with Mr Russia? Ve, he's scary."
Lithuania nodded, though he wasn't quite sure which part he was agreeing to. Both were equally true.
"Oh, do you want some pasta?" Italy asked. "I made some, but Germany said he doesn't want any because he's in a meeting, and I don't know where Japan is."
"Pasta?" Lithuania repeated, before he smiled. "I would like that."
…
Lithuania found he rather enjoyed Italy's company. He kind of reminded him a bit of Poland – talkative, ditsy, but without the ego. And Italy wasn't very brave, which made Lithuania feel a bit better. Though he wished that he wouldn't hide behind him whenever Russia was around.
It was with a heavy heart that he prepared to leave with Russia and the other two. Italy was a breath of fresh air, and he would have liked to spend some more time with him.
"Ve, are you really leaving?" Italy asked sadly.
Lithuania sadly nodded his head.
"Unfortunately," he said.
Italy pouted, before he brightened up.
"Ve, then we'll just wait until next time," he said.
Lithuania nodded his head, a smile growing on his face. He couldn't help but smile whenever Italy was nearby.
But then Italy surprised him by hugging him, and then he kissed him on both cheeks. Lithuania's eyes widened as he felt his cheeks darken.
"Ve, then ciao for now," Italy said. "Until next time."
Italy skipped off, and Lithuania was left completely confused with burning cheeks.
