ChuHun: Trying Something Different

Elizaveta pursed her lips, staring at the bottles, tubes and cases in front of her. She didn't normally wear makeup, but she kept getting gifts, or she tried to support a friend who had to sell these things. The point was, she had far too much.

She was supposed to meet with Yao later… Should she try it? She didn't want to look like a clown, after all.

She shrugged, before she decided to take the foundation. It wouldn't hurt, would it?

Yao was waiting in front of Elizaveta's door, checking the time. They had a reservation at a restaurant, and then they had a movie to go see.

The door opened, and he smiled when he saw her.

"Are you ready?" he asked, before checking his watch. "We've still got some…"

His brain clicked, and he looked up again. He'd noticed something completely different with his girlfriend, but he wasn't sure if it was his imagination or reality. True enough, she was different.

"Are you… wearing makeup?" Yao asked.

"Yes," Elizaveta said. "Why? Does it look bad?"

Yao blushed.

"N-no," he stammered. "Not at all. It's just surprising, that's all."

Elizaveta quirked an eyebrow, an amused smile on her face. Yao coughed awkwardly.

"So, shall we go?" he asked.

I got this when I saw the reaction of some of the kids I work with. I don't usually wear makeup, with the exception of lipstick. But I have so much… I decided to get up a bit earlier to start wearing it. You know that it's a rare sight when a bunch of schoolchildren have to do a double take. Or when your colleague stops mid-conversation to remark that your makeup looks nice. There were actually kids back in high school that said they would pay to see me in makeup (we had uniforms, but there were days when we could wear civvies, and in high school on those days the girls were allowed to wear makeup).
