AusChu: Delicate Snacks

"I still can't believe you're able to do this," China said, staring at the miniature cake made by Austria. It was simply one of the baked goods that Austria had made.

"And what about it is so surprising?" Austria asked, sighing.

"It looks fine and fragile. And don't even get me started on the pastries."

China had intended to spend some time in the conference building's kitchen. Cooking was always a way for him to unwind. So, when he saw the Western nation there, he almost decided that it wasn't worth it.

Almost.

He remembered England telling him once that Austria made the best pastries he'd ever tasted, much to France's dismay. And, though China would never admit it, he was a bit curious. And so he decided to watch as the European went about the kitchen. Of course, he made his presence known pretty early. He was not going to lurk in doorways.

"Well, didn't you come to make something yourself?" Austria asked, a bit flustered by the fact that China had watched him bake the whole time.

China shrugged, before he went over towards the fridge. He quickly gathered a few ingredients, supplementing them with ingredients from the pantry, and started his preparations. However, he paused before he could add the first ingredient.

"Could I at least try one of those pastries?" China asked.

"What was the point of watching if you didn't try one?" Austria asked.

China grinned as he accepted one of the pastries. He hummed in thought as he tasted the chocolate mousse that comprised part of the snack. It looked delicate, but was strong and rich inside.

Food often revealed a lot about its creator. Based on this pastry, China would perhaps have to keep an eye on Austria. It would be worth it.
