Leon was texting Raivis, his close friend. He actually had a crush on the Latvian, but hadn't had the courage to tell him yet. Still, staying up and texting him was good enough. Even if Leon had resorted to emojis.

It was a habit of his when he was really tired. A habit that Raivis was fully aware of. So, he expected that the Latvian was going to end the chat pretty soon. Because Leon didn't want to be the one to end it. Even if his eyes were burning and streaming tears, he wouldn't be the one to end the chat.

But the bed was so comfortable…

He was stirred out of his slight doze when another message came through, and it took him a while to process what he was reading. Not just because of how tired he was, but also the content.

I love you.

Leon couldn't help but smile at those words, and wondered how he should respond. His eyes were blurry, so he selected what he hoped was an appropriate emoji and sent it. But at that point, his mind and body were demanding that he rested them both, and without waiting for a reply, his eyes closed and he fell asleep.

When Leon woke the next morning, he realised that he fell asleep while texting Raivis. Remembering what was last said, he quickly checked his phone again.

Oh, ok. Sorry. I hope we can still be friends.

Leon was confused, at least until he saw which emoji he actually used. An angry face. And then he hadn't replied to Raivis's text about hoping that they could still be friends.

Widening his eyes as he realised what that could mean, he quickly typed that he didn't mean to send that emoji. As soon as he sent it, he realised that it wouldn't solve the issue, so he quickly called Raivis.

"Hello?" Raivis's tired voice said from the other end.

"Raivis!" Leon exclaimed. "I am so sorry about last night! I was tired and didn't see what I was sending and I fell asleep!"

"Leon? Oh. Right. Sorry about everything. I hope we can still be friends, at least."

"I love you too," Leon said hastily.

There was silence on the other end. Leon held his breath as he waited for Raivis to respond.

"What?" the Latvian asked.

Leon took a deep breath to steady his nerves.

"I love you too," he said.

The prompt is: 'Imagine your OTP isn't dating yet. Person A has the habit of just using emojis whenever they're tired. Person B confesses that they love A over text, and A, now super tired, accidentally uses a sweating emoji or laugh emoji or mad emoji, then passes out from being too tired. A wakes up the next morning and sees B texted back "K sorry I hope we can be friends still", so A freaks out and goes "WAIT NO I LOVE U 2 IM SORRY" and calls B afterwards to inform them and they can't stop giggling.'
