Thanks to apurehetalian for reviewing.
I'm back! It felt strange, not posting for so long. Though, updates might be in danger again. Load shedding. Oh, the joys of South Africa.

SebTai: Hope for the Future
Taiwan sighed as she sat down on a bench. Another world meeting where she was reminded of the fact that she wasn't a 'true' nation. If only she could be recognised for her efforts, and she had no lack of those. It just wasn't fair!
She had her head bowed down, and so when a pink rose made its way into her sight, she jumped in surprise, before she turned to see who was holding out a rose for her. She saw someone that resembled Italy, but she could tell that it wasn't him. First of all, his eyes were open, and the few times she saw Italy's eyes, they weren't this colour. Also, he looked younger.
"You look like you could use some cheering up, bella," the Italy-lookalike said.
She didn't really know Italian, but she at least knew the meaning of that word. She blushed as she accepted the flower.
"Thank you," she said. "I don't think I've ever seen you before. Are you a nation?"
He flinched at her question, and she cocked her head in curiosity.
"Micro, actually," he admitted. "Seborga. And you're Taiwan, right?"
Her eyes widened.
"How do you know who I am?" she asked.
"I make it a point to know all the pretty ladies," he said.
…He was most definitely Italian.
"So, if you don't mind me asking, what has gotten you so down?" he asked, taking a seat beside her. "I just hate to see a girl sad."
She sighed.
"I guess I'm just tired of being reminded that I'm not a true nation," she said. "What would it take for me to be recognised?"
Seborga shrugged.
"Well, you're not considered a micronation," he said. "Which means that they do recognise youin some capacity. As for me… I might be able to become an official nation, but it's so much work."
"Really?" she asked. "Why don't you try?"
"Like I said, too much work," he said. "And I don't think I'm ready. When I see the stress of my brothers, I'm glad I don't have to deal with that."
She couldn't really deny that it was a stressful job.
"I just wish people would stop seeing me as an extension of China," she said.
"Why don't you try showing them that you're different?" he asked. "Show them you. What makes you unique?"
She pondered on that. She had to admit, her culture did share quite a few similarities with China's. Perhaps he was right. She needed to show the world that she, Taiwan, had her own unique flare.
She lit up at the possibilities and turned to Seborga.
"That's a great idea," she said. "I'll do that. And you better make a plan for yourself."
He chuckled.
"We'll see, bella," he said. "We'll see."
