MonaLat: Cute Puppy
When Monaco first met Latvia, she was reminded of a puppy. He was sweet, somewhat adorable, but also pretty timid. Normally his shy nature would have put her off, but for some strange reason, she found herself being drawn to him.
More and more, she found herself watching him at meetings. How he would become a trembling puppy whenever Russia was near. Playful when he wasn't. He also seemed loyal to those lucky enough to call him their friend.
He caught her staring at him one day, and the way he cocked his head to the side made him resemble a puppy even more. But he didn't come ask her about it. He was a shy puppy, after all.
But one day, she happened to see him lose his patience with Sealand, and she was reminded that sometimes, puppies had bite. And instead of worrying her, it only excited her. She was intrigued, she would admit. Perhaps he could be more than just a pet. Perhaps he could be a companion.
And when he saw her and noticed that she had watched him… The blush he gave was really adorable.
This just popped into my head when I saw the pairing lined up. When Monaco was referring to him as a pet, she was thinking about his history with Russia, but started seeing him as someone that would be more of an equal than an underling.
