"Alright," Alfred said, gripping the tickets. "The usual?"
"Of course," Lovino scoffed, while Kiku smiled softly.
The trio stood in line, and when it was finally time to order their snacks and drinks, the person behind the counter smiled.
"Let me guess," she said. "You want a Combo 1 with Coke, you want a Combo 4 with Fanta Orange, and you want a Combo 3 with a cherry slushie?"
The three stared at the girl.
"Do… do we really come here so often?" Kiku asked.
"Every week," the girl said. "So, the usual?"
"…Yeah," Alfred said. "The usual."
When the three of them sat down, Lovino sighed.
"I think we should go somewhere else next week," he said.
Alfred didn't say anything, just took a long sip of his drink. Kiku fidgeted nervously.
In my final year in high school, my family and I went to the movies almost every week. At one point when we went to order our snacks, the woman behind the counter almost perfectly recited our order. My sister and I had a moment of silence before we asked each other if we really went there so often. Likewise, I seem to be going to Bargain Books so often that at least one of the employees knows what kind of books I like to read. I also know a few of them by name. And I live almost an hour away from the nearest Bargain Books.
