GreIre: Cold Shower
Patrick took a deep breath, staring at the shower. He'd heard Heracles discuss this a few times – how refreshing it was – and he was curious to try it. But now that he was standing there, he wasn't so sure.
He bit his lip, before he climbed into the shower. He stared at the taps for a moment, before he twisted the cold one.
…
Heracles looked up when he heard the scream, followed by some cursing. He made his way to the bathroom, where he could hear the shower running. He knocked on the door.
"Is everything alright?" he asked.
"Y-yeah," Patrick replied. "I'm just… T-trying a c-cold shower."
Ah. That would explain the string of curses. Heracles smiled, before he went to find a couple of blankets. He knew that he had spoken about cold showers a lot, but that was in Greece, where the climate was a lot warmer than in Ireland. He wondered if he had made Patrick curious.
He hoped that Patrick didn't blame him.
Patrick got out of the bathroom a few minutes later, wearing sweats and shivering. Heracles smiled, placing a pair of thick socks in front of Patrick. The Irishman grabbed the socks and put them on. Heracles gestured to the bed.
"Want to cuddle?" he asked.
Patrick stared at the bed, before he climbed under the five layers of blankets. Heracles followed after him, wrapping his arms around the smaller male.
"Y-you lied," Patrick said. "Y-you s-said it's r-refreshing."
"I was talking about back in Greece," Heracles said. "I haven't really tried it here yet."
"Then d-do it! I-it's only f-fair."
"I'll do it tomorrow. Unless you want me to pull away now?"
Patrick's response was to tighten his grip around Heracles.
The prompt is: 'Imagine person A of your OTP trying out a cold shower for the first time, and having it not end too well. When they finally come out of the bathroom, person B finds them wrapped in their towel, shivering, and their bare skin icy to the touch. After they're all fully clothed, B invites the still shivering A under a large number of blankets to snuggle.'
My first experience with a cold shower was a bit more unexpected and pleasant than in here. First time showering at my new flat, and I discovered that the labels on the taps were switched. It didn't really matter much. It was a hot day, and the pipes had been heated enough that it didn't matter that it was the cold tap. In fact, I didn't even realise it was supposed to be the cold tap, I just thought the hot water wasn't very hot.
