CzeBela: Painting Nails

Clara sighed as Natalia was painting her nails with some sort of purple polish. She had no idea what the exact shade was, but she was almost tempted to say that it was plum. For some reason Natalia had insisted on doing her nails, and after some debate, Clara had finally agreed on doing it.

She tried not to wince, though. Natalia rarely did her own nails, and when she did, it didn't always turn out well. And Clara could see that it would be the case here as well. The skin around the nails was painted too, making them look larger than they really were. The painting was also uneven, with some areas being thick and others having barely any polish at all. Natalia also didn't wait for one layer to dry before she went for the second layer.

"There," the Belarusian said. "What do you think?"

The polish was still wet, so Clara had to be careful when she raised her hands. She examined her fingers and tried to keep her expression as cheerful as possible. Natalia could use a lot more practice, but it was still a nice gesture.

"Thank you," Clara said. "But, why did you decide to do my nails?"

"Because you always do mine, and you seem to be happy doing it, so I wanted to do it for you too," Natalia muttered.

Clara smiled. It was a nice gesture. She pecked Natalia on the cheek.
