ThaiWales: Candlelight

Kasem and Will were cuddling together on the couch when the light suddenly went off. The two tried to find each other's gazes in the darkness, before they went to see if it was just the light, or if the power was off. After establishing that the house had no power, the two felt their way to the kitchen, intent on getting the candles.

"Ouch!" Will exclaimed after stubbing his toe against a table.

"Be careful," Kasem called out.

They eventually reached the candles and started lighting them. Once lit, each candle was placed in a strategic position to prevent any other stubbed toes.

"So, what now?" Will asked once they were done.

"Well, I don't know about you, but the candles certainly put me in the mood," Kasem said. He pulled out his phone, and a moment later soft music started to play. "Shall we dance?"

Will chuckled, before accepting Kasem's outstretched hand. The two of them swayed together in the dim light, both thinking that this was nice. But then Will remembered something else.

"I still need to make dinner," he said.

"We can order pizza," Kasem replied.

"Pizza by candlelight? Why doesn't that sound weird to me?"

Kasem just smiled and pecked him on the lips.

The prompt is: 'After the sun has set the power goes out so Person A and Person B have to scramble to find enough candles to light up their house.'

We have candles at home, but just about every room has a small emergency light, just in case. All because of a little thing called loadshedding. You know it's bad if you're excited about buying a lantern (solar powered, but can also charge via USB, and it came with a power bank and USB light).
