ThaiPan: Sunlight

Kasem smiled as he walked home from the store. It was a lovely day. Warm, but not unbearably hot. The scent of flowers blooming was in the air, and the soundtrack consisted of birdsong.

When he entered the house, however, his smile fell. He looked around before going towards Kiku's room, finding the other man in front of a TV set with the curtains drawn, playing some sort of game.

"Kiku, how long have you been in here?" Kasem asked.

Kiku jumped, and it took him a moment to process the question. Kasem winced when he saw the dark circles around Kiku's eyes.

"Kasem?" Kiku asked, before frowning. "How long…? What time is it?"

"It's eleven in the morning," Kasem scolded. "Kiku, when was the last time you got some fresh air?"

"The window is open."

"That doesn't count!" Kasem exclaimed. "That's it. You're coming with me."

Kasem hauled Kiku to his feet, much to the Japanese man's protests.

"You're going to get some fresh air and sunlight before someone mistakes you for a walking corpse," Kasem declared.

"W-wait!" Kiku cried out. "Could I at least save the game?"

Kasem ignored him. He opened the backdoor and headed for the garden, where a table set could be seen. He pushed Kiku into one of the chairs.

"You can go inside when I think you've had enough sunlight so you're not the palest of the pale," Kasem said.

"You're exaggerating," Kiku sighed.

"Really? Look at your arms."

Kiku looked down and winced. Kasem was pretty sure that the sun was reflecting off them. It was actually painful to look at.

"I suppose I could stay out here for a little while," Kiku said.

The prompt is: 'Person A having to drag Person B outside, away from the TV, so that Person B won't be the palest of the pale.'
