NorthIce: Acrostic
Emil stared at the blackboard as the teacher droned on. He was completely bored, and he had to fight his hardest to not yawn. He didn't want to attract the teacher's ire.
He jolted slightly when there was movement near him. He looked down at his desk, seeing a piece of paper, and he turned to his neighbour. Seamus stared ahead, not acknowledging that he'd placed a piece of paper in front of Emil. So the Icelander looked down and read the paper.
I wonder how to tell you
Life is better with you
Of course it's not easy
Victory isn't breezy
Eager to say this
Yelling is a miss
Original letter each line
Understand meaning mine
Emil looked up, making sure that the teacher didn't notice, before he looked back towards the poem. He spent some time trying to figure it out, before looking towards the first letter of each line. His face heated up when he realised what the meaning behind the poem was, and he turned to look at Seamus.
Seamus had been looking towards Emil, and when he noticed that Emil looked towards him, he quickly looked away. His fingers were drumming on his lap, and he kept alternating between pursing and biting his lips.
Emil turned back towards the front. They were supposed to start on the assignment, but Emil was still caught in the poem. What was he going to say? Because he figured that Seamus would want an answer.
Now then, how did he feel about Seamus?
The prompt is: 'Write an acrostic poem for the love interest of your story from the point of view of your protagonist.' I thought it would be a cute love confession.
And obviously, my poetry skills are a little rusty.
