Summer was coming to and end which meant that everyone would either be starting work full time or going to college. Ryder and Katie were helping Chase, Skye, Ella and Rocky move into their house in Toronto. "This is going to be so much fun, living here I can't wait!" Skye said with excitement as they brought in some boxes. Ryder and Chase were bringing in the bed for Chase and Skye's room. After everything was unloaded off the moving truck Ella began her task of decorating and making everything perfect. "Chase please make sure to call us a lot, I am going to miss you so much. Please be safe here." Katie said as she hugged him and kissed him. "Mom please stop. I am 18 and I will be safe I promise. I also promise to call you but you call me too because I might forget" Chase said. Katie hugged him one last time and her and Ryder drove the 3 hours back home to Adventure Bay.
"How cool is it that we have our own house and we are in college!" Skye said, "Cool about the house but I am not so sure about the college part" Chase said. "College is going to be so awesome!" Rocky said, "easy for you to say Mr. Straight A's" Chase said as he rolled his eyes. "I wonder how Everest is doing?" Skye said. "You literally just saw her this morning" Chase said. "I know but she is still my best friend and I am gonna miss her" Skye said. "You can see her every weekend we are only three hours away" Chase said. "Chase that is not the point!" Skye said as she rolled her eyes at him and went to call Everest. "Girls are so weird" Chase said as she started unpacking his clothes. It took them the rest of the day but they managed to get the house in order. "This place looks awesome!" Ella said satisfied with her decorating skills. "Yeah it does awesome job Ella" Rocky said giving her a kiss. "First day of school tomorrow I am a little nervous" Chase said. "You are going to rock criminology babe!" Skye said. "Thanks and you are going to be the best pilot there is!" Chase said back to her giving her a quick kiss. The teens watched some Netflix before heading to bed as they had an early start tomorrow. Ace and Aliya cuddled with their owners as did Buttercup and Scrap. The pups were enjoying all being together.
The next morning at 630 am Chase woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring and he rolled over and groaned. "Morning" Skye said as she climbed out of bed and went to get ready for the day. Chase rolled back over as he pressed snooze on the alarm. Rocky and Ella were getting up as well and Rocky put on the coffee as Ella made everyone breakfast. Ella was not going to school as of right now as she was working under her mother's interior design company. She was trying to get things rolling on the website so she could start taking clients in Toronto. Chase turned off the alarm and rolled out of bed. He had a quick shower and dressed for school as he came out of the bedroom Skye handed him a cup of coffee just how he likes it. "Thanks babe" Chase said as he sipped it. "Skye and Ella, I have one rule for you both Toronto is a big place and I don't want either of you outside at night alone. If you need to walk home from a class or something call us we will come get you" Chase said. "I second this" Rocky said to his girl. "Okay I have a class that goes till 6pm" Skye said. "I will come get you" Chase said giving her a kiss as they headed out the door for school.
Rubble was working on his first construction job with the new company he worked for called Rock Solid builds. He was excited because they were building a brand new set of houses in a new area. This meant that he had a lot to do and it was good pay. Zuma was riding along with the coast guard today and they were showing him how to do water rescues. Marshall was working at the fire house and he was learning from the fire academy and doing actual drills. Everest took her twins and the pups Blaze and Tundra to the park, as she pushed the twins in the swing the pups ran around chasing each other. Callie and Josh just turned one and they were a handful but a lot of fun. Josh was a lot more independent where Callie enjoyed being held and played with. Zoe was in beauty school where she was learning how to be a hairdresser and an esthetician. Alyssa was going to fashion school as she loved clothes and wanted to become a designer. Tracker was enjoying his time in Africa as he learned everything he could about the animals there. Tuck was already having a hard time in vet school but he was determined to do his best.
Chase walked into his first class and he sat at the back of the room as he didn't really want to be noticed. This class was huge as it had a lot of seats to choose from and the teacher was at the front of the class. "Mr. Ruzek" was written on the board and as soon as the bell rang he began talking. "I am Mr. Ruzek and I am your criminology 101 teacher, I don't care if you are not here. If you skip you will lose valuable information. As I tell you what you need to know for exams and there will be an quiz every Friday and a test every third Friday. I am a fair teacher if you have a problem come to me I will try to help. If you fail my class you will not move on to the next one. I will assign each of you a partner they will be yours for the semester no complaints. Any questions?" Mr. Ruzek said. No one raised their hand he began listing of names and each name he said the person would stand and sit with their partner. "Chase Chapman, you are with Abby Harper" Mr. Ruzek said. Abby came and sat next to Chase and he was nervous as she was really pretty. "Skye is not going to like her" Chase thought to himself as they shook hands. Mr. Ruzek wrote notes and explained a lot of things in that 2 hour period of time and Chase was already overwhelmed and he sighed as he looked at his handwriting. The bell rang and students started clearing out of the classroom. "Chase, I am Abby I just wanted to let you know that I take this very seriously" Abby said. "I will to I have always wanted to be a police officer or a detective" Chase said. "Cool, here is my number if you ever need help" Abby said handing him a piece of paper. Chase looked at his notes and said "Thanks I think I am going to need a lot. I can't even read my own notes" Chase said. Abby laughed and said "I will photo copy you mine" as they walked to the photocopier in the classroom and she scanned them and handed them over to Chase. "Thanks" Chase said, "No problem partner" Abby said as they went to their next class. They noticed they had all the same classes and she said "Well we are going to become good friends" Abby said. "Yes friends" Chase said a bit nervously, "Why are you nervous?" Abby asked. "My girlfriend is very jealous and well she might not like us hanging out" Chase said. "Too bad for her we are partners in class. She can deal, I am not going to steal you away from her" Abby said.
The rest of the day went by quickly and 430 pm Chase headed to the gym for his first ever college basketball practice. Chase dressed in his gym clothes at sat on the bench waiting for the coach to start. "Welcome to the first practice I promise you this is nothing like high school, it will be more grueling and I don't take well to whining. I am coach Barnes and you all can call me coach. Any questions?" Coach asked. One kid raised his hand "Yes?" coach asked, "Are you related to Scottie Barnes?" the kid asked. "yes he is my brother, now start running" the coach said. The team started running and Chase was the fastest and most fit on the team as he was having no trouble running. The coach blew his whistle and said "Okay free throws if you make it go to the back of the line, if you miss grab a weight and start running" Chase was first and he made it no problem. A few of the other boys missed and there were 6 people still throwing when Scottie Barnes came into the gym and it caused a lot of the boys to get nervous. "Hey bro how is the team this year?" Scottie asked. "Well the ones running can't make free throws so that is something." his brother said. Scottie noticed Chase and smiled he said "Chase Chapman is on your team you will be just fine" "Who is he again?" his brother Tyler asked. Scottie pointed to the only one left throwing free throws. "Well at least he can make a free throw" Tyler said. He blew his whistle and called the boys in. Most of them were star struck, Chase smiled at Scottie and he smiled back. "Well that is it for practice today I will see you all on Wednesday" Coach said. Chase was walking away when Scottie said "Hey Chase, glad you are here and that you are doing good" "Thanks and thank you again for sending that money it really helped my parents out." Chase said. "Hey I really needed you in tip top shape as I was hoping you would get a scholarship here and I am glad you did. Can you still make that half court shot?" Scottie asked. "You bet" Chase said as he grabbed the ball and walked to half court, he took a deep breath and made the shot. "See like I said you will be just fine" Scottie said to his brother. Scottie gave Chase a fist bump as he left the gym to meet up with Skye so he could walk her home.
"Hi babe, how was your day?" Skye asked "It was awesome Scottie Barnes's brother is our coach and he came to our practice!" Chase said with excitement. "Cool!" Skye said as they walked to their apartment. Ella had dinner ready for them when they arrived, "Wow I can get used to this" Chase said as he put his bag down and grabbed a plate. They all ate dinner and talked about their day and the boys did the dishes while the girls gossiped in the living room. After dishes Chase said "I am going to have a shower" "Didn't you have one this morning?" Rocky asked, "yeah but I had basketball practice and I stink" Chase said as he went to the bathroom. "Ugh 2 showers gross" Rocky said as he sat on the couch next to Ella. Chase's phone rang and Skye got up to answer it she noticed the name Abby and she answered "Hello?" "Hi I am looking for Chase" Abby asked. "Who the hell is this?" Skye said with anger, "This is Abby, I just have to ask him a quick question is he there?" Abby asked. "Why the hell are you calling my boyfriend?" Skye screamed into the phone as Chase came out and grabbed the phone from her. "Hello" Chase said walking away from Skye making her even more mad. Chase answered the question for Abby and hung up the phone and looked at his angry girlfriend. "First Skye it is not what you think she is my criminology 101 partner, Second she was assigned by the teacher so I never chose her, Third she knows about you and fourth she also has a boyfriend." Chase said. Skye sighed and said "Okay but I am angry you never told me about her" "Skye It was the first day and I literally was so excited about basketball I forgot, I was going to tell you. I love you" Chase said as he kissed her forehead. "I love you too" Skye said as they cuddled on the other coach and watched a movie with the others.
Marshall came home from the fire academy and was beat, the twins were so excited, "DADA!" Josh said as he walked over to his dad. "Hey buddy" Marshall said as he scooped him up and gave him a hug. "Dada!" Callie said as she made her way over to her dad and he also scooped her up and hugged her. "How was it today?" Everest asked, "Hard I am clumsy so I wasn't as skilled as the others but I am good at some other things. So I feel it will balance itself out" Marshall said. "Good, the twins are yours for a bit I need a bath" Everest said as she ran upstairs. Marshall played with his babies on the floor as his pup Blaze came in for a cuddle. Marshall fed the twins a bottle as Everest came down and they both read each twin a story and tucked them into bed.
Everest and Marshall finally had some alone time as they cuddled on the coach.
Alyssa sent out a group text to her besties: Ladies I am in a bit of a pickle!
Zoe: What is up?
Skye: What is wrong?"
Everest: Uh oh?
Ella: we are listening
Alyssa: I was in class today and I realized I never thought of Rubble once, Then this cute guy talked to me and he gave me his number. I was so excited and then I realized I have Rubble
Skye: Are you more interested in the cute guy?
Alyssa: I don't know I mean I love Rubble but the idea of another guy kinda excited me. Rubble is just not very affectionate and I want to see where things go with this guy. Does that make a bad person?
Ella: Absolutely not, it is your choice girl, and if you aren't feeling it anymore then you aren't. Just don't break up with him in a text
Everest: I understand you but it is still sad that you are breaking up with him. Rubble will be crushed.
Skye: I support you but think about it first Alyssa you were with Rubble for four years, you might one day regret leaving him Zoe: I hope the two of you are still friends. It would be weird not having you guys speak if we are ever all together.
Alyssa: I am a bad person, maybe I should just stay with Rubble
Skye: If you are with him because you don't want to hurt him then it is not worth it, Rubble is tough he will be fine
Everyone else agreed and this left Alyssa with a big decision to make. Skye and Ella told Chase and Rocky about the text. "Man poor Rubble" Chase said, "Don't tell him either let Alyssa be the one to tell him" Skye said. "I won't tell him" Chase said rolling his eyes annoyed that Skye thinks that he would do that. Chase realized that he wanted to text Rubble and tell him but he eased off as it really wasn't his place. Chase, Skye and Rocky and Ella all said goodnight as they went to bed to get ready for another big day in school tomorrow.
