Marshall woke up early that morning before everyone else as he needed to get himself to training, it was his first day working in the firehouse. He had officially passed the fire academy and today he was a candidate in the Adventure Bay firehouse he was super excited. Marshall arrived at the firehouse and was introduced to his lieutenant, "Welcome Marshall this is your lieutenant, his name is Travis. You will do everything he says and be on alert at all times" The chief said. "Yes sir" Marshall said, "Marshall I have heard lots about you, I hear you want to be a paramedic as well" Lieutenant Travis said, "Yes sir, I want the full experience" Marshall said. "Good for you man, that takes guts, I just want you to know I am pretty chill unless you do something dangerous or stupid." Travis said. Marshall was thrown into firefighting pretty quickly as the bells went off and they were called out to their first big fire. Marshall followed orders and helped several people out of the building. They were able to stop the fire and everything was going well on his first day so far.
Everest woke up to her 1 year old's screaming from their cribs as she changed them and went down to make them breakfast. Callie was wailing as she didn't want to be put down, Josh was playing quietly as usual. "Callie honey mommy needs to make breakfast" Everest said. "No mama!" Callie cried harder she just wanted to be picked up. Thankfully Everest's mother Paige walked in and Callie said "NANANANA!" as ran over to her and Paige scooped her up. "You giving mommy a hard time again miss" Paige said. "No nana" Callie said as Paige set her down to hug Josh. They were taking the twins to their first swimming lesson this morning and Everest was very nervous. "They are going to do great Eve don't worry" Paige said, "I am worried how Callie is going to take it she might scream" Everest said. "If she does she does it happens just play it by ear" Paige said. Everest tried not to think to much of it as they dressed the twins in jackets and headed out to the pool.
Zuma had a day off from coast guard duty today and Zoe had tasked him with trying to get Rubble to forgive Alyssa. "Why me Zoe? I mean If you cheated on me I wouldn't forgive you" Zuma said trying to take Rubbles side. "Zuma I would never but Alyssa made a huge mistake and she is paying for it. She is so sad and she really misses Rubble please fix this" Zoe begged. "Okay I will try but no promises" Zuma said. "Thanks baby you are the bestest!" Zoe said as she hung up and went back to class. Zuma texted Rubble,
Zuma: Hey Rubble you busy today?
Rubble: Not really was thinking of heading to dog park with dozer
Zuma: Awesome Reef and I will meet you there in say 10
Rubble: Sounds good
Zuma dressed and found Reef sleeping on his bed and said "Reef want to go for a walk?" Zuma said as Reef jumped up wagging his tail. Zuma laughed as he clipped on the leash and headed out the door. Zuma met with Rubble and they sat on a bench as their puppies ran around the park chasing each other. "How are things?" Zuma asked, "Good, we are almost done with our house and it is looking awesome" Rubble said. "Cool have you talked with Alyssa lately?" Zuma asked. "Nope, and I don't have plans too. I don't really want to talk about her though" Rubble said. "I know man but she is really hurting, she feels awful for what she did. She said it was a huge mistake and she wants you back" Zuma said. "She should have thought about that before going out with another guy. I mean would you forgive Zoe if she was with another guy?" Rubble asked him. Even though Zuma wouldn't he lied and said "I would try to, I love Zoe and I would have to give her the benefit of the doubt" "Well I love Alyssa to I mean she was everything to me. She broke my heart, I want to forgive her but I can't trust her" Rubble said. "Try to at least let her regain your trust. I mean she said nothing happened on the date and it was a huge mistake" Zuma said. "I don't know I will think about it" Rubble replied. They continued talking for a bit and decided to go catch a movie after taking their dogs home. Zuma texted Zoe on the way to the theatre.
Zuma: He said he would think about it, heading to movies see you later?
Zoe: Okay babe I will let her know. Yes later at your house
Zuma: Sounds good can't wait
Rubble and Zuma decided to go see the movie 47 meters deep as Zuma loved the water and it sounded interesting. Marshall was making it through his first day slowly and he was starting to get tired as they had 8 calls already and it was only 1 pm in the afternoon. "Tired Marshall?" Travis asked, "A little but I am good" Marshall said. Travis laughed "This is nothing, it can get worse" Travis said Marshall sat down for what felt like the first time that day and the bells went off again. Marshall rolled his eyes as he jumped up and followed the rest of the firefighters. This was a huge warehouse fire and it was already going pretty good by the time they got there. "I want 2 teams do a quick search and get out. This one is going to be ugly, Marshall follow James and watch what he does" Travis said as they got into their gear and ran into the building. Marshall was nervous as there was a lot of smoke and he could barely see in front of him and had a hard time seeing James. Marshall tripped over something and realized it was a person he said "I found a victim I am brining them out now" it his radio. "Roger that Marshall be careful" Travis said. Marshall carried the woman out and gave her over to the paramedics as he went back into the fire. Marshall at this point had no idea where James was and he searched for victims, "Everyone get out now this building is about to go up" Travis said. Everyone ran out of the building but Marshall as he honestly had no idea where he was. "Marshall where are you?" Travis asked. "I am not sure, I am lost. I see some stairs I think." Marshall said. "Dammit Marshall I told you to stay with James." Travis said as he and few men went into find him. A few seconds later the building exploded causing a lot of debris to fall down. Travis and James were able to locate Marshall but his SCBA was busted and he was inhaling a lot of smoke. They carried him out and he was taken to the hospital quickly. "I told him to stay with you what happened?" Travis asked James. "It was really hard to see and he found a victim. I guess he took her out and came back in. I had no idea he came back in" James said. "Dammit his first day and he is hurt. This is not good, he better be okay" Travis said. They all drove to the hospital to check on their fallen firefighter.
Dr. Shepard came out and said "he inhaled a lot of smoke and had a collapsed lung but he is stable for right now. I have contacted his family and they are on their way in now" "Thank you Dr." Travis said. Ryder and Katie arrived and Ryder went up to Travis and said "What happened?" "He was to eager, he tried to do to much, there was a lot of smoke. He got lost when I told everyone to get out" Travis explained. "His fiancée is not going to be to happy about this. Is he okay?" Ryder asked with concern. "His lung collapsed but Dr. Shepard said he is stable for now" Travis said. Ryder and Katie went into Marshall's room and he was hooked up to a machine that was helping him breathe. He also had a chest tube in so it could drain the fluid that developed in his lungs. "This is why I didn't want him doing this. Look his first day and he is already hurt" Katie said. "He is going to be okay" Ryder said, "How could you possibly know that. Look at him Ryder does he look okay to you?" Katie said getting a bit angry. "No but he is strong and he has always wanted to be a firefighter he is strong he can get through this" Ryder said. Katie rolled her eyes she wanted to say more but she was to angry and Ryder to say anything. Everest ran into the room and gasped "Oh my poor baby" she said as she hugged Marshall trying to keep her cool. "I knew this job was too much, I was so nervous for him all day" Everest said. Dr. Shepard walked in and said "He is going to be just fine please don't panic. He should be off the ventilator in a few hours and back to work within a week" "I don't want him back to work!" Everest said, "Eve firefighting is everything to Marshall he has wanted to be one ever since I can remember. He loved what his parents did and he was proud of them everyday, they would be proud of him for following his dreams" Ryder said. Katie and Everest couldn't deny that Ryder was right Marshall loved what he did and he wouldn't let something like this stop him.
Ryder called Chase and left him a message telling him to call when he could. Marshall regained consciousness shortly after 4 pm and Dr. Shepard was able to take out the ventilator and explained what happened. "I am such and idiot I should have never gone back in alone" Marshall said shaking his head, "Marshall Davis you did nothing wrong, and you saved that woman's life today. You should be proud of yourself" Everest said. Marshall was just so disappointed that he screwed up his first day. Travis walked in and said "Marshall I want you to know you did good today, I should have said not to go back in that part was on me. You were just doing your job. Please don't feel bad and I am glad you are alright" "Thank you sir" Marshall said feeling slightly better. Chase finally called Ryder back and he explained everything. "He is okay right?" Chase asked, "Yes he is just fine. Will be back to work in no time." Ryder said. "I am coming home." Chase said. "No Chase he is fine, you stay at school, Marshall is fine and he wouldn't want you to skip school" Ryder said. Chase wasn't convinced so he called Marshall, and he answered, "Hey Chase" "Hey what the hell man?" Chase said, "I am fine Chase I promise" Marshall assured him, "are you sure? Do you need me to come home?" Chase asked, "No I am fine. Don't miss school it is nothing serious I promise I am good" Marshall said. "Okay bro but if you need me just text I will be there" Chase said. "I will thanks bud" Marshall said as he hung up. It was getting late and Chase was heading to bed Skye just wanted to finish the end of the movie, Rocky and Ella were already in bed. Skye was getting ready for bed and she let the dogs out into the yard. Chase, Rocky and Ella woke up to a scream and the dogs barking frantically, "What the hell" Rocky said as they got out of bed. "Skye!" Chase said as he searched around for her, "Oh my gosh, Ace shut up" Ella said as he was the only one going nuts. Chase knelt to his level and said "Ace did someone take Skye?" "Ruff!" Ace barked and Chase immediately began to panic, "What if she was taken but the blonde abductor?" Chase said, "That means he knew where we lived!" Ella said. "Oh man do we call the cops?" Chase asked he was panicking and couldn't think. Rocky was already on the phone with 911 and the police were on their way.
