Marshall was able to recover and was cleared to got back to work, but he was thinking long and hard about his choice. Marshall wanted to be there for his babies and his soon to be wife and running into burning buildings was always jeopardizing that. Marshall walked up to his lieutenant and said "Lieutenant Travis, I decided that I want to pursue the paramedics option even though I love being a firefighter I love my family. I want to train as a paramedic please" "Okay Marshall, we have a class next week if you could hold out until then I will honor your wish. This will give us time to find you a replacement and get you signed up for the course" Travis said. Marshall agreed and went about his day at work. Travis couldn't say he blamed Marshall even though firefighting was his first choice as it killed his parents Marshall decided his family came first. Skye was still afraid that every guy was watching her and that anyone of them could abduct her but she was working through it. Chase was on his way to class when he was stopped by one of his classmates Jeremy, "Hey Chase, I am sorry about your partner and your girl" Jeremy said. "What do you mean my partner?" Chase asked confused, "Didn't you watch the news the blonde abductor was her father" Jeremy said. Chase's jaw dropped to the floor he couldn't believe it his lab partners father kidnapped his girlfriend and killed all those women. "Yeah crazy hey, anyways the school board is talking of having her removed from the program. Sources say she helped her father choose the victims." Jeremy said. This aggravated Chase more than anything because if this were true that Abby was the one who sent her father after Skye. Chase was not able to concentrate in class that day and the absences of Abby made it even harder. He wanted answers he wanted to hear it from her if this were true or not. Chase texted her hoping to get some kind of truth.

Chase: Where are you?

Abby: I am sick

Chase: LIAR! did you send your father after Skye?

Abby: Can't talk

Chase: Screw you Abby I let you into my home that is how he knew where we lived. You are sick sick in the head. You knew your father was a murderer and you let him do this

Abby did not reply to anymore texts. Chase was so pissed off he wanted answers, why would she do this. Did she think he would never find out, Chase walked over to her dorm hoping to find her. "Abby no longer lives here" her roommate said. "Why?" Chase asked, "School board suspended her, I think she was arrested due to her involvement in her fathers case. So sick I mean she slept beside me, guess it is a good thing I wasn't blonde" her roommate said. Chase went to the office and tried to get them to give him some detail and they wouldn't. Chase went to the police department and same thing they would not give him any answers. One cop recognized Chase from the other night and he pulled him aside. "You the boy who helped us find the killer right?" the officer asked, "Yes can you tell me what I want to know?" Chase asked him. "Maybe what do you want to know?" "Did his daughter help him? Was she arrested?" Chase asked, "They did arrest a female, I am not sure if she is his daughter she has brown hair. It is confirmed that she did help in a way yes. That is all I can tell you I am sorry" the officer said as he walked away. "Wait, can I talk to her please?" Chase asked, the officer turned around and said "No not at the moment" and he walked away. Chase received a call from the school and he was asked to return so he walked over his car and drove there as it was faster.

Chase arrived at the school and his criminology teacher Mr. Ruzek was waiting for him. "Hello Chase, I am sorry about what is going on. I know what you experienced was awful and your girlfriend too. I assure you Abby is no longer allowed at this school and seeing has how it is so late in the semester I can't reassign you a partner. I can have you join another group or if you would prefer to finish solo that is alright as well." Mr. Ruzek said. "I will finish solo, I can't trust anyone else right now." Chase said. "Understood, I am going to assign you the blonde abductor case. I feel you deserve to tell your story. I will see you in class shortly" Mr. Ruzek said leaving Chase to his own thoughts. Chase really didn't want to go to class but seeing has how he just spoke to his teacher he felt he needed to. Chase walked into the classroom and everyone was apologizing and making him feel even more angry and wanting answers. Mr. Ruzek started class and said "Everyone I understand that everyone knows what happened over the weekend and I assure you that she is not in the program anymore. Please let Chase finish his semester in peace. I have decided that anyone who is doing the assignment on the blonde abductor find a new case. There is only one perspective I want to hear on that case, I will extend the assignment to the end of the semester giving everyone a chance to find something else." No one objected as they felt it was only fair if Chase was to get to do the blonde abductor case as he was the one to actually solve it.

Chase finished class and he didn't want to go to practice today as he was just not feeling it. He knew there was a big game tomorrow though so he dragged his butt to the gym and practiced with his teammates. Coach walked up to him and said "Chase I didn't expect you to come, I admire your dedication. You and I both know you don't need the practice go home be with your girl" "Really?" Chase said, "Really yes go before I change my mind" coach said as Chase ran to the locker room and went to meet Skye. "Chase don't you have practice?" Skye asked surprised to see him. "I did yes but coach told me to take care of you" Chase said giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Aw, Chase everyone is talking" Skye said. "I know and it is all apparently true, Skye I am so sorry. It is my fault he knew where we lived, I let her into our house. I can't believe I let her get close to you" Chase said. "Chase stop it is not your fault, what matters is I am fine. I am safe and you saved me. I love you Chase and I know that you will always be there to protect me" Skye said. "Always beautiful girl always" Chase said hugging her tight. Chase and Skye walked over to his car and she was confused. "You drove?" Skye asked, "It is a long story, I ran a few errands on my breaks today." Chase said. They pulled into the driveway and noticed a red car parked on the street in front of the house.

Skye and Chase walked in the door and Skye was immediately grabbed into a tight hug. "Mom why are you here?" Skye asked. "Are you kidding me? Sweetheart you were abducted by a serial killer and you weren't even going to tell me?" her mom said a little angry and sad. "I am sorry mom, I just I am fine nothing happened." Skye said, "Nothing happened. Skye Sterling you were kidnapped! I can't believe you didn't phone me. I had to hear it on the news! Do you have any idea how I would have felt if something did happen? If you weren't saved hmm? I am your mother for crying out loud." she said as she started to cry. "Mom I am sorry, I feel awful I should have called I am so sorry" Skye said hugging her mother tighter. Her mother regained her composure and turned to Chase and said "You saved my little girl's life. As far as I am concerned you are a part of this family now. I want you to know that you have my blessing from now until forever." Chase hugged her and said "Thank you Mrs. Sterling that means a lot to me, as you know I would do anything for your daughter I love her very much." Chase said, Skye and her mom both hugged Chase tight and Rocky and Ella said "Aw that is so cute" Everyone had homework to do as Mrs. Sterling made them dinner. Chase didn't even need to research his project as he knew exactly what happened and he told it all in his own perspective. Chase knew it would be hard for her to recount the events that happened but he was thankful that Skye agreed to be his witness. Chase wrote every word and feeling Skye felt and really felt that this assignment was going to give him top marks. None of the other students actually solved a real crime and Chase was now 100 percent sure that being a detective was his dream job. Chase also decided that he wanted Ace by his side and wanted him training along side him.

The semester ended and Chase received the best grades he has ever gotten all throughout high school. He received 3 A's and B, his Criminology 101 class assignment he received full marks putting his highest grade in that class. "See Chase I knew you would do when in school" Rocky said impressed with Chase. "Thanks maybe because this stuff actually interests me, I have a passion for it" Chase said. "You are going to be a great detective one day Chase. People all over the world are gonna want to hire you" Rocky said. "Thanks man, that means a lot" Chase said, They were all set to go home for the holidays but first Chase had one more basketball game to play. This game would determine whether or not they were to advance into the playoffs in the new year. Their coach had no doubt that they would be victorious with Chase on their team but he had a huge decision to make. Chase wanted to concentrate on his schooling, even though he loved basketball and he felt he would be letting everyone down he knew what he wanted to do. Chase was going to talk to his dad first and see what his options were before making the decision.

The basketball game was the hardest of the year as the team they were against was keeping the pressure. Chase was starting to get triple teamed as they knew he was the best one on the team. The coach called a time out and said "Chase is getting triple teamed out there, I know that it is hard to get him the ball but we have to figure something out. Chase try your best to get open shoot whenever you can we can win this game" Everyone nodded and the time out was over as they went back to the game. Chase was finally able to get the ball and his teammates were able to block for him as he scored baskets. The game ended with a score of 94-90 and Chase was of course the MVP as he scored 40 points that game. They advanced to the playoffs and Chase really did have a hard choice to make because he wanted to concentrate on school but he did love basketball. He realized that playing today made the decision to quit even harder but he wasn't making the choice right now. Chase, Rocky, Skye and Ella all drove back to Adventure Bay to spend the holidays with their friends and families.
