It was an early morning in Adventure Bay and Cassie who just turned 9 was feeling pretty good about her morning so far. She went downstairs and Ryder said "No absolutely not go upstairs and wash your face right now" "But daddy all the girls wear make up at school" Cassie whined. "I don't care about every girl in school I care about you. Go right now and wash it off" Ryder said sternly. Cassie whine all the way upstairs, Katie said "Ryder she is getting older, I mean she wants to be like her friends." "She looked like a clown, there is no way my 9 year old is wearing make up to school" Ryder said. Cassie came back down her face was make up free and Ryder drove her to school. She was very upset with her father as she slammed the door on her way out of the car. Ryder rolled his eyes as he headed to the high school for work. Cassie brought her make up with her and put it on at school.
Chase woke up a little late and had to rush to school this morning as he ran and then he remembered it was Monday. "Damn it!" Chase said as he walked back home remembering he didn't have class on Mondays. Now he knew why no one woke him up, Chase had a good breakfast then took his pup Ace for a walk. Chase then decided to catch up on some homework and start studying for exams as he felt like he needed to start early. It was only February but it was important for Chase to do really well. Skye was actually flying her first plane today and she couldn't be more excited as she sat in the cockpit and the instructor gave her the controls. Skye was doing extremely well and the instructor said "Great job Skye you are a pro. This is clearly meant to be your job" "Thanks" Skye said beaming as she was having a blast. Rocky was so far ahead of his class on his assignments that the teacher was honestly just thinking of giving him the exam now. Rocky didn't want any special treatment as he continued to show up to every class and do the work just like everyone else. Ella's business in Toronto was booming as she continued doing small projects here and there gaining more followers on Instagram.
It was a busy week as Chase had a lot of basketball and homework he felt like he was never going to get through it all. Basketball was wearing him out and a part of him wanted to quite, he still had the dream to play for the NBA. He just didn't know if now was the right time as he was really enjoying school for the first time in his life. It was Thursday and there was a pro-d day in Adventure Bay so Cassie wanted to go to a friends house after school. Katie didn't have a problem with it so Cassie packed a few things to take with her. Ryder and Cassie had a hard time agreeing on things as he wasn't ready for her to grow up. Cassie came downstairs with a shirt that was showing a little to much and Ryder said "Seriously no go change!" "Daddy I have a sweater to wear with it." Cassie protested. "This is not going to be an argument you either go change now or you are grounded!" Ryder said getting mad. "Fine, I hate you!" Cassie screamed as she ran upstairs. Ryder was a bit hurt by her statement but he knew it wouldn't last long as he drove her to school. She didn't speak to him the whole way and left without even a goodbye. Cassie wasn't going to go home after school or the whole weekend she was so angry at her father, she didn't know where to go. Then it hit her as she missed her big brother so she decided that it would be nice to go see him.
Thursday after school Cassie came home before going to her friends house and didn't see her parents so she took Chase's house key from Ryder keys. She had just enough money saved for a bus ticket to Toronto. She decided that she would go tonight as she ran to the bus station after packing her clothes. She paid for her ticket and waited for the bus to arrive and since her parents thought she was at a friends house she felt pretty good about this plan. Once the bus came she sat close to the front as she felt safer by the bus driver, the bus arrived in Toronto just after 7 pm and Cassie stepped out not really know where to go from here. She asked an older lady "Do you know where the college is?" "The university is just 5 blocks down that way" the older lady said looking at Cassie. "Aren't you a bit young to be in university?" she asked, "I am just visiting my brother thank you" Cassie said as she started walking. Now she was trying to be brave as she walked the streets alone having many people staring at her. Cassie finally spotted the university in the distance and started running, she still didn't know Chase's address though. She had a picture of his house on her phone and she was just going to walk around until she found it. It was starting to get dark and Cassie was beginning to worry as she didn't know what street she was on. She debated on calling Chase but she didn't want him mad at her, it was 9 pm and Cassie was very hungry as well. Cassie saw a coffee shop and she had just enough money to grab a sandwich as she ate it and kept walking. It was just after 10 pm when she found Chase's house, the lights were out so she wanted to be sneaky. She used the key and slowly opened the door really hoping not to wake the pups up. Ace heard her and left Chase's side to go investigate Cassie was prepared for him as she grabbed him and took him out of the house. "Hi Ace" Cassie said as he licked her and got the jitters out of his system from seeing her. They slowly and quietly made it back into the house and Cassie curled up on the couch for the night.
It was 12 am and Cassie snuck into the bathroom and tried to be as quiet as she could Skye heard her though. "Chase did you hear that?" Skye said shooting up, "Hmm?" Chase said clearly still asleep, "I heard something, there is someone in the house" Skye said, "Skye if there was Ace would be freaking out and he isn't so go back to bed" Chase said. "Chase please go look I swear I heard something" Skye said sounding scared. Chase groaned and rolled out of bed putting his sweat pants on and walked out of the bedroom. At first Chase didn't see anything then he saw someone laying on the couch he thought maybe Rocky or Ella fell asleep there. Chase went to wake them up he shook the figure and Cassie screamed causing Chase to jump and he turned on the lamp. "Cassie! what the hell you scared the shit out of me! what are you doing here?" Chase said. "I came to visit you" Cassie said. "Okay but how did you get here and why are you sneaking around at night?" Chase said. "I came on the bus and well it was late I didn't want to wake anyone up" Cassie said. "Do mom and dad know you are here?" Chase said, "Not exactly, dad is so unreasonable and I told mom I was at a friends house" Cassie said. This conversation woke everyone else in the house up and Ella made hot chocolate and brought out cookies for everyone. "Cassie next time ask to come over, what you did was incredibly dangerous and stupid" Chase said. "I am fine though and I am not a child anymore. Don't treat me like dad does!" Cassie said. "I am not trying to but you are acting like a child, Toronto is not like Adventure Bay Cassie! you could have been kidnapped or killed out there." Chase screamed at her. "Chase calm down, she is fine. Yes what she did was dumb but don't yell at her she is clearly fine and hopefully learned something right Cassie?" Skye said. "Yes, I won't get caught next time" Cassie said. Chase was just about to say something then Cassie said "Just kidding, I will call next time or ask permission before doing this. I can stay the weekend though right?" Cassie asked. "Well when I tell dad you are here and how you got her he is going to be pissed so I doubt it" Chase said. "Don't tell him how I got here just tell him I am here and want to stay" Cassie said. "We will talk about this in the morning night everyone" Chase said as they all headed to bed.
"Are you going to tell your dad?" Skye asked as they crawled into bed. "I have to I mean she could have been killed or kidnapped Skye." Chase said. "I know but she wasn't and she clearly misses you." Skye said, "I doubt my dad will let her after what she just pulled but I will see goodnight Skye" Chase said. "Night Chase" Skye said kissing him then rolling over to sleep. The next morning Chase called his parents before checking on Cassie as he knew she was eating breakfast with Skye. "Hey honey how are you?" Katie asked as she answered the phone. "I am good. Mom there is something I need to tell you and I don't want you to freak out." Chase said. "Oh my god is Skye pregnant?" Katie asked, "What no mom this isn't about me." Chase said. "Oh good okay what is it?" Katie asked. "Promise not to freak out" Chase said, "I can't promise that" Katie said. "Okay, so apparently Cassie hopped on a bus and walked the streets of Toronto last night for hours trying to find my house. She found it and is safe here so yeah" Chase said. "Are you kidding me right now?" Katie said. "No she is here but she is safe I promise" Chase said. "That girl has been nothing but trouble lately I will send Ryder to get her." Katie said. "NO I was hoping she could stay the weekend please. I miss her and she misses me it will be good for us to spend time together" Chase said. "After the stunt she pulled to get there I doubt your father will allow it" Katie said. "So don't tell him" Chase said. "I am not going to lie I will discuss it with him and we will get back to you" Katie said hanging up. Chase knew it wasn't going to be good as his mom sounded upset and if she was upset Ryder would be even worse.
"So can I stay?" Cassie said with excitement, "I am not sure squirt mom said she would talk to dad" Chase said. "I guess I will pack my stuff then, Dad won't let me stay" Cassie said. "Never say never" Chase said as he ate his breakfast. Ryder was pissed after Katie told him and he wasn't going to allow her to stay as he drove to Toronto. Ryder arrived 2 hours later and said "Cassie get in the car!" "No I want to stay daddy please!" Cassie said, "Are you kidding me after how you got here, You are not leaving the house until you are out of high school now get in the car" Ryder said. "Dad I get you are mad but she can stay if she wants" Chase said. "Chase stay out of this, she has been arguing and doing things all week this is the last straw for her. Cassie I won't tell you again." Ryder said. Cassie hugged Chase and stomped out to the car, "Sorry Chase, but if she asked I would have brought her here to visit. She lied to us and put herself in extreme danger to get here. She is in big trouble, hope everything with you is good though" Ryder said as he left driving back home. "Hope they aren't to hard on her" Skye said. "Are you kidding Cassie will be grounded for life after this" Chase said feeling a bit sorry for his sister. Skye and Chase spent the afternoon together as they haven't for a while before Chase had to go to the gym for the big game. It was 6 pm and the game started at 630 he was a little sad that Cassie wasn't going to be able to watch but he still was excited. This game would determine if they made the playoffs or not and Chase was a bit nervous. The bulldogs played there hearts out and Chase was the MVP as they made it into the playoffs. Everyone was super excited as they went out to celebrate, Chase was a little bit to excited as his team kept buying drinks and Chase had a little bit to many. "Rocky we need to take him home" Skye said, "I know but he won't leave" Rocky said. "He has to he is so drunk, he is going to hurt himself" Skye said. "Okay, Chase let's go bud" Rocky said. "You can'tt tellll me whatttttt too dodooooooooo" Chase said tripping as he said this. "Oh my god, nope let's go" Skye said as Rocky helped her get him up. The two of them managed to get Chase out the door, then he laughed and took off running down the sidewalk. "Are you kidding me" Skye said as Chase tripped falling onto his face. Chase laughed but it clearly hurt as Skye and Rocky helped him up. Chase had a skinned knee and a gash on his face, Skye would clean him up when they arrived home. After finally getting Chase back home Skye helped him into his pj's and fixed his scrapes as he passed out on the bed. Skye just left him there as she was annoyed that he was even drunk in the first place.
"What would have happened if we didn't go with him" Skye said, "They would have kept giving him drinks I bet" Rocky said. "Ugh they could have killed him" Skye said annoyed as they watched some tv and decided to go to bed. Chase slept soundly the whole night and ended up with a nasty hangover the next morning.
