The championships were getting closer and there would be a lot of scouts watching at the big game. Chase had a big decision to make and he was conflicted, either to go play in the NBA which has been a dream of his for a long time. He did of course have to get drafted first though, or go into the police academy and train along side Ace his best friend and become the detective he always wanted to be. It was evening and Rocky was doing his homework, while Skye talked with Ella about planes as she cooked dinner. Chase sat on the couch with his head in his hands stressing as he honestly didn't know what to do. Skye looked at him and said "Baby are you okay?" "Yeah, just thinking" Chase replied. "Anything we can help with?" Ella asked, "I am not sure, I mean I don't even know what will happen yet so I don't want to say" Chase said. Just in case his dream to be in the NBA was a bust. "You nervous for tomorrow?" Ella asked, "Yeah a bit, I am excited that my family is coming out though. I miss them" Chase said. "Are they staying here?" Ella asked worried, "Nope they rented an air B&B just down the road" Chase said. Dinner was made and the 4 teens ate dinner while watching TV and they all decided to go to bed early as it was a big day for Chase at least.

It was 1 am and there was a loud crash in the kitchen and Ace went berserk in the bedroom, Chase opened his eyes and noticed Skye was up as well. "Did you hear that?" she asked, "yup" Chase said as he checked his phone there was a text from Rocky,

Rocky: was that you?

Chase: Nope

Rocky: What do we do?

Chase: Check who it is?

Chase jumped out of bed and put a shirt on and opened his bedroom door slowly and he noticed the light on in the kitchen. Ace ran out and was barking but then he suddenly stopped and Chase was concerned. He walked into the kitchen and there was Marshall laying on the floor with Ace on his lap. "Jesus christ man you scared the shit out of us" Chase said. "Sorry I tripped and well, I meant to wake you up gently" Marshall said. "It is okay guys its only Marshall" Chase said loud enough for everyone to hear. "What are you doing here so late?" Rocky asked giving Marshall a hug. "We are all actually here but we didn't want to say anything until tomorrow, but we realized that the place literally isn't stalked with anything. I came to get toilet paper of all things" Marshall said. "Really?" Skye asked. "No I just wanted to scare Chase, plus I really miss him and Callie is just not having a good night. I snuck out to get some sleep" Marshall said. "You can stay on the couch dude, maybe next time just text us" Chase said as they all went back to bed. Marshall texted Ryder

Marshall: okay all set they went back to sleep

Ryder: Okay we are coming in

Ryder was there with Katie as they wanted to set up the backyard for Chase as a big party for winning the championship. I mean yes he didn't win yet but everyone was optimistic about the whole thing. Once they set up everyone except Marshall snuck out because he needed to make sure Chase didn't see the backyard. The next morning Chase had one class so he rushed off to class and then he was excited to see his family. Everyone was filled in on the activities as Chase was not there. "What if they don't win the championship?" Skye said, "They will win, I mean I hope they will. We can celebrate Chase anyways." Katie said. "Good idea he is pretty spectacular" Skye said. Ella noticed that Cassie was a bit sad and down and asked "What is up with Cassie?" "She and her father are not getting along. Ryder doesn't understand what it is like being a girl. She feels he won't let her grow up" Katie said. "I know what that is like, my dad never let me grow up either. Then he realized the one who needed help was Tuck" Ella said. "They will get there I am trying to let him understand that she needs to be given a bit more freedom. He is worried she will be worse then Chase as he definitely had us on our toes a lot. He just doesn't want to let go of the little girl" Katie said. "Mom I am not a baby, stop telling people my problems" Cassie said with anger as she went to Chase's room to find Ace. "See what I mean she is angry" Katie said rolling her eyes.

It was almost 11 am and everyone headed to the gym as the game started at 12pm and Chase was already there. He saw to little toddlers running out onto the court and he scooped up Joshua first since he was faster. "Hey buddy!" Chase said, "unkey Chase! ball in hoop" Josh said as Chase handed him the ball and he tossed it towards the hoops. Just barely missing Chase laughed "One day short stuff" Chase said as he put him down looking at his niece who stood scowling at him. "Hello little miss" Chase said opening his arms to her, Callie jumped into them and gave him a kiss. "I missed you unkey Chase" "I missed you to Callie bear" Chase said hugging her. Chase's coach came out and said "and what do we have here? Future prospects I hope" "Maybe this is Callie my niece and Joshua my nephew" Chase said. "Hello there" coach said as Everest came and took her kids and said "Good luck" "Thanks" Chase said as he went back to practicing with the team. Coach called in his team and said "Alright boys this is it, literally the biggest game of your college days. This game will determine whether we are champions or not. There are scouts here from a few NBA teams. Play your best and lets do this" "WILDCATS!" the team said as the first half was about to start. The wildcats won the tip off and were easily able to score the fist 2 points of the game. Things were going fairly even back and forth, Chase was finally subbed in things escalated from there as he stole the ball and scored. The first half was over and Chase scored 14 of the 24 points that the wildcats had.

Callie was having a hard time sitting still and she wanted to run around and she started to scream. Everest had to take her outside and calm her down, Ryder was talking to Chase's teacher Mr. Ruzek. Katie, Skye and Ella were discussing the party afterwards and were very excited to surprise Chase. Cassie on the other hand was texting with her friends wishing to be anywhere but where she was. She was missing a huge sleepover at one of the most popular girls in her class. The second half was about to start and the coach was talking to one of the scouts, "that there is the guy you want to come up to you Chase" one of his teammates Robbie said. "Why?" Chase asked, "He scouts for the Toronto Raptors isn't that your team?" Robbie asked. "Yeah but I am not sure what I want to do yet" Chase said. "Dude you are literally the best basketball player I have seen in a long time. I would sign if you get the chance you seriously have the best chance of all of us" Robbie said clapping Chase on the back as the ref blew the whistle indicating the game to start.

The second half was even more wild then the first and 3 players on the opposing team were foaled out for trying to stop Chase. He scored 13 free throws alone in the second half of the game. It was the final seconds of the game and it was tied at 70 the badgers had the ball and there was 10 seconds left just before they were to shoot Chase stole the ball. With 3 seconds left he was at half court and he jumped flinging the ball with everything he had knowing this was it. The buzzer went and the ball hit the backboard and fell into the hoop. Everyone went wild! Chase was tackled by his team and the coach received the trophy as he carried it over to his team. Coach handed the trophy to Chase and his teammates hoisted him up onto their shoulder as everyone cheered. After the team celebrated Chase's family came and congratulated him on his victory. Then the guy Robbie was talking about was walking up to Chase and he felt sick, "Hi Chase Chapman, I am Drew McIntyre and I just watched you play the game of your life. I want to give you something to think about. I would like to give you a chance to play for the Raptors next year. There is a camp you would need to attend over the summer but it will literally be life changing for you. Please take my card and think about it" Drew said as he walked away. Chase stared at the card and knew this decision would be hard.

Everyone headed back to Chase, Skye, Ella and Rocky's place as Chase walked in he noticed the place decorated. "Wow thanks guys, but how did you know we would win?" Chase said. "Are you kidding Chase, we have been watching you play for years and I am your mother I just know" Katie said giving him a hug. Everyone was having a great time Ryder noticed Chase was in his own head and looked a bit down. "Chase walk with me" Ryder said as he pulled his son away from the party. They ended up sitting on Chase's bed and Ryder said "What is going on Chase?" "I don't know what to do. I have such a huge decision to make and it is literally eating away at me" Chase said. "Chase I know that whatever choice you make it will be the right one, I was talking with your teacher Mr. Ruzek and he said you show great promise in being a police detective. He also said you are a true talent when it comes to basketball. The police academy will always be there as you passed your course. They will always hire new police, your opportunity to play for the Raptors is once in a lifetime. You will never get another chance, I am not trying to choose for you Chase but deep down I think you know what you want to do" Ryder said as he left Chase in his room.

Skye came in a few seconds later and said "Hey handsome what is on your mind?" as she sat beside him. Chase hugged her and said "Nothing now, I think I made my decision but I could use a little distraction" Chase said kissing her and pushing her onto the bed. "Um Chase, your whole family is literally outside" Skye said, "I know" Chase said kissing her and pulling her back up. Skye really wanted to finish where this was going but knew it would have to wait till later. Chase and Skye excited the room and Cassie ran at her brother in tears. "What is wrong squirt?" Chase asked her. "I can't anymore Chase, please help me" Cassie said, Chase took his sister into his room and sat her on the bed. "What is wrong Cassie?" Chase asked, "Daddy won't let me grow up, I want to be able to do stuff. I am not a kid anymore and it sucks, I am 10 I know it is still young but Chase I want to do more." Cassie said still crying. "Like what?" Chase asked, "My friends can wear make up, one of my friends even has a boyfriend. I like a boy too but daddy won't let me. It is not like I am having sex or anything I just don't want to be treated like a baby anymore." Cassie said. "Okay first I am sorry but how do you even know about sex, and second I agree with dad I wasn't allowed to date until I was 13. As for the make up I think that is where having a sister would be better. I will talk to mom about it though, Dad loves you squirt and he just wants to protect you. I mean you are his baby after all and I was a lot as a teenager I think he just wants to keep you a baby for a little bit longer" Chase said. "Okay fine I will lay off the boys for now but Chase please tell him I want to be a big kid not a baby" Cassie said. "I will try squirt" Chase said giving her a hug.

As the night progressed Callie and Josh were taken back to the B&B by Everest as they were pretty tired. "Well bud congrats, and I hope you don't stress to much about the decision" Ryder said. "I won't and dad ease up on Cassie, she is not me. I get she is your baby but she is actually pretty smart. I think a little make up won't hurt if mom teaches her how. She won't disappoint you I promise" Chase said breaking his dad's hug. "Ugh, I am so not ready for this alright I will talk to Katie" Ryder said as they left. Marshall was the only one left at this point and even he was getting tired. "Alright better head out my kids don't let me sleep in anymore" Marshall said as he also left. Chase looked at Skye and said "Excuse us Ella and Rocky" as he threw Skye over his shoulder and took her to their bedroom. "Well I guess we know what they are doing" Rocky said laughing looking at his girl who gave him a wink. Chase and Skye had their moment of intimacy and lay there as Chase finally decided what he was going to do. He knew it was the right choice and he would tell the right people in the morning. "I love you Chase Chapman" Skye said. "I love you more Skye Sterling" Chase said kissing her and wrapping her in his arms as they fell asleep.
