The next morning Chase woke up he was confident with his decision and knew he was making the right choice. He showered and dressed for school as it was the final week of classes and exams were coming up. "Morning babe" Skye said as she rolled out of bed, "Morning beautiful" Chase said giving her a kiss as he left the room. Chase let his pup Ace outside as he grabbed a cup of coffee that Ella had already brewed. "Hey remember my brother will be coming sometime today, he is going to stay here" Ella said, "Of course, is he doing his practicum?" Chase asked, "Yeah there is a clinic here that he is going to get some experience in, and he doesn't have money to stay anywhere else" Ella said. "Its cool Ella, he can stay here as long as he is okay to sleep on the couch" Chase said. "Yup he already knows thanks Chase!" Ella said. "Don't thank me it is your place as well so anyone is welcome plus I like Tuck" Chase said as he sipped his coffee. Chase, Skye and Rocky all walked to school together and Ella decided to clean the house today.
"Hey Chase did you hear, they are going to release Abby" a student name Myles said. "What no, are you joking?" Chase said. "No apparently she never actually committed any crimes, they are allowing her to go on probation" Myles said. "Damn well she better stay away from me" Chase said, "yeah no kidding it was you who had her dad arrested in the first place" Myles said. "Yeah and she was the reason he kidnapped my girlfriend" Chase said. "Yikes I forgot about that, good luck" Myles said as he took his seat. Chase was nervous he was really hoping she stayed away as he wasn't prepared to ever see her again. Mr. Ruzek was preparing them for the upcoming exam as he reviewed everything they have learnt. Chase wrote down everything that he was saying so he didn't miss anything important. Class ended and Chase waited in the lobby for Skye to be done as her class was a little longer. "Hey Chase" Coach Barnes said, "Hey coach" Chase replied. "So have you made a decision yet?" coach asked. "I have actually and I haven't told anyone yet though but I was planning to later." Chase said, "Good, I hope you play basketball Chase you will seriously be a huge asset to the Raptors" Coach said as he walked away. Chase smiled he knew he was making the right choice as he pulled the business card the scout gave him and dialed the number. "Hello, this is Drew" Drew answered, "Hi Drew this is Chase Chapman" Chase said, "Ah I was hoping I would hear from you." Drew said, "Yeah I made a decision and I would like to thank you for the opportunity and I would love to play for the Raptors" Chase said. "Good to hear kid, but like I said you need to pass the summer camp first, then we will decide if you are Raptors material. I will have my assistant email you with all the details. Take care Chase" Drew said as he hung up.
Chase was a bit disappointed he thought he was actually playing for the Raptors but he needed to pass a test first. Either way he was excited to at least give it a try and he was greeted by his girl, "Hey sexy" Skye said giving him a kiss. "Hi gorgeous" Chase replied accepting the kiss that she gave him. They walked home together and Chase explained what Drew told him, "Aw Chase don't worry you will be fantastic at this camp. They are going to be blown away at your talent" Skye said. "Thanks babe" Chase said as they arrived at home and Tuck was on the couch, "Hey Tuck" Chase said giving him a hug. "Hey guys sorry to intrude" Tuck said, "Nah man it is good to have you here. How is school?" Chase asked. "It is good a lot harder than I thought it was going to be, but I love it. Ella just stepped out for a few she will be back soon" Tuck said. "No problem man just make yourself at home" Chase said as he set his books down and grabbed a snack from the kitchen.
There was a knock at the door and Skye opened it and screamed, Chase came running and there stood Abby. "What the hell do you want?" Chase said with anger, "I am here to apologize for everything, I know that what I did was wrong. I just wanted you to know I am extremely sorry especially to you Skye" Abby said. "You are so not forgiven" Skye said as she glared at her and looked terrified. "That is fine I don't expect you to forgive me I just wanted you to know I am truly sorry" Abby said as she walked away. "What in the hell? I thought she was in prison" Skye said. "She was apparently released on probation I didn't expect that sorry babe" Chase said. "It is fine I guess I mean she wanted to say her peace" Skye said. "I am confused who was that?" Tuck asked, "that was the girl whose father kidnapped me and almost had me raped" Skye said. "Oh I see well um not sure how to respond to that" Tuck said, "it is okay" Skye said as she started to prepare dinner. Ella arrived shortly with Rocky close behind her, "Hey Tuck" Rocky said, "Sup Rocky" Tuck said. Ella and Skye made dinner while the boys played some video games, Chase schooled both Tuck and Rocky in NBA live. "Damn even in virtual basketball he kicks ass" Tuck said, Rocky laughed, "yeah basketball is in his blood" he said. "Lets just hope I pass this summer camp or my dream of being in the NBA will be squashed." Chase said. "Man that is not even going to happen you are going to kill it dude" Rocky said. "Thanks" Chase said giving his buddy a high five.
The next few days everyone crammed for the exams as the day came and although they were excited they were all nervous. Rocky of course wasn't worried as he said "Chase you have this, remember you like this stuff. I believe in you" "Yeah easy for you to say mister photographic memory" Chase said. "Not my fault, listen I will send my thoughts to you, how's that?" Rocky said, "If only you could" Chase said as they walked to the school. "Good luck Chase" Skye said, "Thanks babe good luck to you too, you will crush your flying test" Chase said giving her a kiss. Everyone went their separate ways and sat down to write their exams. The day came to an end as everyone sat on the couch thankful to finally being down with school. Rocky and Ella packed for the summer as they would be spending it in Adventure Bay, Chase was only going for a few days as he starts basketball camp on Tuesday. Skye was of course going to stay with Chase in Toronto but she was spending a couple weeks at home with her mom and friends.
The next morning they all drove back to Adventure Bay and Chase dropped everyone off at their homes before he went to his. Cassie was on him before he even walked in the door, "Hi Chase!" she said giving him a big hug. "Hey squirt, did dad get any better?" Chase asked her, "Kinda, thanks" Cassie said going back to her game. Katie hugged him next, "Mom I can't breathe" Chase said. "I am sorry I just miss you so much, I wish you were hear longer" Katie said. "Me too but I have to start camp on Tuesday" Chase said. "I think you made the right choice" Ryder said giving him a hug. "I think so too, I am a bit nervous but I am excited to give it my all and if I make it I make it. If I don't at least I will know that I tried" Chase said. "That is the spirit" Ryder said. Chase received a text:
Everest: You better come over soon Callie saw your car
Chase: haha okay give me a few minutes
Everest: Okay
Chase changed his clothes and grabbed Ace as he headed next door, he walked in and was tackled by 2 toddlers. "Hello Buddy and little miss" Chase said as she scooped them up and hugged them. Chase played with them as he really did miss them and they were finally a lot more fun. Everest was grateful he was there as she was able to get a bunch of stuff done, Marshall was at work of course but he would be home later. "Uncle Chase why do you have to live away from me?" Callie asked. "Aw sweet girl, I am not living away from you I am just finishing school. Now that I am done I am going to start a career like your daddy" Chase said, "daddy doesn't live far away" Callie said. "I won't for much longer baby girl, I will one day come back to you" Chase said. "Promise" Callie said, "If I can't promise I at least promise to come visit you more deal?" Chase said. "Deal" Callie said giving him a kiss as she continued making play doh. Chase spent as much time as he could with his family and friends before he headed back to Toronto. Katie gave him a bunch of food and meals so he would at least not starve until Skye came back as he had no clue how to cook. Chase sat on the couch petting Ace and said "It sure is quiet with just us buddy" Ace barked as he cuddled on his owner's lap.
Chase was watching TV when he heard someone knock of course Ace started to bark as he answered the door. "Hey man" Rubble said, "Rubble what are you doing here?" Chase said, "I couldn't let you be here all alone" Rubble said. "Aw thanks buddy" Chase said, "Nah I have a house to build here and Rocky said I can crash in his room if that is cool" Rubble said. "Of course I am glad for the company" Chase said as they watched a show together and ate junk food Rubble's favorite thing to do. "How are you and Alyssa doing?" Chase asked, "we are getting better I finally started to become more comfortable with her and she isn't holding back" Rubble said. "Ew man spare the the details please" Chase said causing Rubble to laugh, "Sorry, but it is not like you and Skye aren't either" Rubble said. "Yeah but I am not going to share the details with you" Chase said. "Fair enough, are you nervous for tomorrow?" Rubble asked. "I am a bit but I am also excited" Chase said. "Well I hope you get in I mean basketball has always been your dream" Rubble said. "It was for a while but so is being a police officer/detective I really want to do that too. I might do 1 or 2 years in the NBA if I get in otherwise I am excited to be a detective." Chase said. "So cool, I think you would be awesome at both" Rubble said, "thanks Rubble" Chase said. They boys headed to bed for the night as they went into their rooms Ace went with Chase and Dozer went with Rubble.
The next morning Chase felt more nervous then he did last night as he was following his dream as he walked into the training gym. "Holy crap" he thought as he saw how tall some of these men were. Chase took a deep breath and walked up to the lady with the clipboard, "Hello I am Chase Chapman" Chase said. "Chase, ah yes okay you will be in group B" the woman said pointing to the far court, "Thanks" Chase said as he walked over to group B and started warming up with them. It was a long and grueling day as Chase collapsed on the couch not wanting to move. "You good dude?" Rubble asked. "No that was awful, I never expected it to be so tiring" Chase said. "It is training camp, I mean they are training you for the NBA" Rubble said. Chase didn't say anything as he just didn't want to move
Zuma was really excited he finally saved up enough money to propose to Zoe as he prepared a wonderful meal. He also set up a hotel room with rose petals and he was trying to make it as romantic as he could. "Aw Zuma this is beautiful" Zoe said as they watched the sunset while eating dinner. "Anything for you my special girl" Zuma said, he was so nervous. "Zuma are you okay?" Zoe asked. "Yes I am fine, Zoe there is something I need to say to you" Zuma said. "Okay" Zoe said a bit nervous, "Zoe I have loved you for a while now, you are the most beautiful girl in my world. Being with you these past 5 years has been amazing and I would not change one thing about them. I want to spend everyday walking up to your beautiful face and I want to one day have kids with you. Zoe Turner will you marry me?" Zuma asked as he got down on one knee. Zoe was in shock she was really not expecting this. "Zuma I love you of course I will marry you" Zoe said as Zuma placed the ring on her finger. Zuma was beaming from ear to ear he was so happy that he was finally engaged to the girl of his dreams. "Let's have a longer engagement though I want to be prepared for a wedding" Zoe said. "Agreed I am just so happy you said yes" Zuma said as they spent the night in the hotel together.
