Zoe woke up the next morning looking at her ring and said, "Check it out Zuma some crazy guy proposed to me last night" "Wow he is one lucky man" Zuma said giving her a kiss and tickling her making her squeal. "Yes he definitely is why because I am a huge catch" Zoe said getting out of bed and dressing. "Where are you off to young lady" Zuma said, "well my fiancée I do have to work and plus I want to tell the world about this" Zoe said pointing to her ring. "Work ah man that means I have to as well, okay we will see each other later right?" Zuma said. "Yes we will my sweet" Zoe said giving him one last kiss before departing for work. Zuma dressed and smiled he honestly felt so happy about his decision he just hoped his friends and family felt the same way.
Zoe posted a picture on Instagram saying "some crazy guy proposed last night I said yes! Zuma!" She was immediately flooded with texts:
Everest: Shut up! are you for real!
Skye: Omg this is amazing! congrats its beautiful
Alyssa: Omg I could cry!
Chase: wow awesome congrats
Rocky: Damn Zuma did good. Awesome congrats guys
Marshall: Awesome! can't wait for the wedding
Rubble: wow never expected this congrats
Ella: oh my gosh girl so beautiful congrats
Zoe texted everyone back individually and had small conversations with each of them. Zuma was also flooded with texts but since he was working he didn't reply right away. Skye was with Everest, "I can't believe Zuma and Zoe are engaged, I mean I thought Chase would propose before Zuma did" Skye said. "Aw girl are you jealous, trust me Chase loves you and he will propose when he is ready. Remember we are only 19 we have loads of time to get married" Everest said. "Says the girl who is already married" Skye said, "Hey not my fault, I mean well these 2 definitely were worth it and Marshall was too but not everyone can have what we have" Everest said. "Except me and Chase" Skye said causing Everest to laugh as Everest put her kids down for their nap. "I heard through the grapevine that Rocky also has a ring" Everest said, "Really? wow everyone is going to be married before me and Chase" Skye said feeling a little sad. "Just because they are engaged doesn't mean they are getting married tomorrow!" Everest said rolling her eyes she couldn't believe her friends jealousy. She was definitely going to have to talk to Chase and soon.
Chase was nervous as he played in the scrimmage some of these guys were huge and they all knew how to play. Chase may have been good but these guys were nothing like what he was used to they all made him feel mediocre. It has only been a week into the camp and he had a bad feeling he wasn't going to make it to the NBA. Chase finished the day as he walked home and collapsed on the couch, Rubble was already home. "You good Chase?" he asked, "No, I mean I just feel like no matter how I play there is someone better than me. I was only able to score 14 baskets today during the scrimmage. I sucked and I can't help but feel like I am wasting my time" Chase said. "Well I can't say I get how you feel, but I think you should keep trying you might surprise yourself and I feel that at least you know you tried your best right" Rubble said. "Yeah I guess so" Chase said as he went to go shower. Rubble had cooked dinner for the 2 of them and as they were eating Rubble asked, "How do you feel about Zuma and Zoe getting engaged?" "I am shocked to be honest, I mean what is the rush?" Chase said. "What do you mean do you not want to marry Skye?" Rubble asked. "Of course I do but there is no rush we are only 19" Chase said, "That is true" Rubble said, as they played some video games before heading to bed.
The next morning Rocky was hanging out with Zuma as he had a day off, "why do we always have to hang out by the water?" Rocky said. "Water is my life Rocky, the smell of the ocean just makes me happy" Zuma said, "Yuck" Rocky said getting Zuma to laugh. "Zuma I need to ask you something and I don't want you to be offended or feel like I am stealing your thunder" Rocky said. "I can't promise but I will hear you out" Zuma said. "I want to propose to Ella too and I know you just proposed but I have been planning on it for a while. I won't do it if you feel like yours just happened" Rocky said. "First I am not offended and you can do whatever you like, I think its awesome you want to marry her. I feel like this is something you should ask Zoe as it is more like her thunder than mine" Zuma said. "Ask Zoe what?" Zoe said as she walked up to the 2 boys, "Oh hey Zoe, um I was just asking Zuma if I could propose to Ella without stealing your thunder" Rocky said. Zoe squealed, "Oh my god you have to do it, we could have a double wedding. This will be fantastic yes absolutely do it!" Zoe said. "Awesome thanks, um maybe just don't tell anyone I have it all planned out" Rocky said. "Secrets safe with us dude" Zuma said as they watched the waves crash into the sand.
The girls were all having a slumber party at Skye's house and Everest was able to come as Ryder and Katie were babysitting the twins. Zoe showed off her ring to everyone and said "I have a question for you Skye, Ella and Alyssa. If your guys were to propose to you how would you picture them doing it?" Zoe asked. "I don't know I feel like I would want Chase to do it under the stars like on our first date. I would also love it if he did it in the air as it is my favorite place to be" Skye said. "I never really thought of it I always imagined Rocky would do it on the beach as it is where we first met and had our first kiss" Ella said. "Rubble is unique and I feel like he would propose with food as in hide the ring in like a cake or something" Alyssa said causing everyone to laugh because it was so Rubble.
Katie was having a hard time getting Callie to bed as she screamed for her mom, "I want mommy!" Callie screamed. "I know and you will see mommy tomorrow, she is out with her friends" Katie said trying to tuck the toddler in. "NO bed I want mommy!" Callie cried even harder, Katie was about to give up when Ryder came in and said "Josh is asleep want me to try with her?" Ryder said. "Yes please she is challenging" Katie said, Ryder sat beside his granddaughter and said "My sweet Callie girl, it is time for bed. The sooner you close your eyes the sooner you can see Mommy" Ryder said. Callie cried as Ryder stroked her hair and whispered, "Goodnight sweet angel" Callie closed her eyes and withing a few minutes was asleep. "What the hell mister child whisperer?" Katie said as Ryder closed the door. "What can I say that girl and I have a bond" Ryder said. "I guess it is too bad you don't have the same bond with your daughter" Katie said. Ryder sighed he knew it was true as Cassie was only 10 and she was literally turning his hair grey.
The next few days were challenging for Chase as he kept trying to figure out how he could be better than the others. Skye was back with him and she was watching the tryouts and they were given a break before going into a scrimmage. Skye walked up to him and said "Chase I think you are overthinking this, stop trying to be better than them. You are good enough I promise, stop trying to prove you are the best and just be the best" Skye said. Chase kissed her "Thanks babe" he said as he went back to his team. The rest of the practice went well as Chase tried to do what Skye said as they finished he heard from his coach, "Good job today Chase" Chase smiled he felt that today was better then all the other days. "Maybe I just needed you here" Chase said to his girl as they walked home. "I don't know I think you had it in you all along" Skye said kissing him. Skye was cooking dinner and Chase knew the subject was going to bring up a lot of problems but he needed to say it. "Skye I hope this doesn't make you hate me, I know you are jealous that I haven't proposed yet. I do want to but I am just not ready, I mean I am only 19 I don't feel like I am ready to get married. I want to build a life first before jumping into kids and a married life, I love you so much I hope you understand" Chase said. "I get it Chase, I love you too and yes I am jealous but I know that we are meant to be and you will ask me when you are ready" Skye said. Chase smiled at her and hoped she wasn't lying to him as he watched her cook.
The month went by so fast as Chase finished his last day of basketball camp, the coach said "Alright good job everyone, If you make the cut you will hear from us. If not well better luck next time" Chase felt that it was harsh but he knew that he tried his best one of his buddies Kaleb walked up to him. "Good luck man, hope we make the cut together if not I will send you tickets" Kaleb said. Chase laughed "Ditto man, see you around" Chase said as he high fived him and went home. Skye and Chase were going back to Adventure Bay for the rest of the summer and Rubble was going with them as he finished building his project. They drove back the next morning packing up most of their stuff as they wouldn't be coming back. Chase and his dad would come grab the furniture in a few days. "I am really going to miss this place" Chase said, "Me too but I am happy to be going back home" Skye said. "Yeah I am excited to start training" Chase said. "What happens if you get into the NBA?" Rubble asked, "then I will stop police training and continue when I am done" Chase said as he drove them back to Adventure Bay.
Rocky had invited Ella down to the pier as he sat on the dock waiting for her he was super nervous. "Hey baby penny for your thoughts?" Ella said catching him in deep thought, "Hey Ella, um nah my thoughts aren't worth a penny" Rocky said. "I know they are worth millions" Ella said kissing his forehead as she sat beside him. "Ella, the day we met I honestly wasn't sure about my feelings. I lost a good girl not too long before meeting you. There was something about you that kept drawing me in, you are funny, beautiful and I couldn't help falling in love with your quirky personality. There are a lot of things that are similar between us like the way you piece together a house is how I piece together an invention or puzzle. There is something about the way you make me feel when we are together I feel a sense of calm and feel like I can relax. I want to spend forever with you Ella will you Marry me?" Rocky said holding out a ring. "Holy shit! Rocky I would love to marry you!" Ella said as she kissed him. "Thanks" Rocky said as he put the ring on her finger. "That speech was beautiful Rocky thank you I love you to infinity" Ella said. "I love you to infinity and beyond" Rocky said causing her to laugh, "My little weirdo, always having to one up me" Ella said. Just then everyone came onto the pier and said "Congratulations!" as they celebrated both Ella, Rocky, Zoe and Zuma's engagements. "We are going to have a double wedding!" Zoe said super excited. "That sounds like so much fun!" Ella said. The girls were talking weddings and everything while the guys talked about something else.
Everyone said goodnight as they headed home as it was getting late and some of them had to work in the morning. Chase went over to Rocky's as his mom was working the night shift and he didn't want to be alone. "I am surprised you never told me about wanting to propose" Chase said. "I never told anyone I mean I knew I was going to, I feel like it is something between me and Ella you know" Rocky said. "I do I just hope Skye doesn't expect me to propose soon. I mean I know she said she understood but a part of me feels she is lying" Chase said. "Skye is complicated I do know that girl will wait forever for you though" Rocky said. "She won't have to wait forever just a little while longer" Chase said as they both fell asleep.
The next morning Rocky woke up to a knocking on the door he wondered who was knocking so early in the morning. He dressed and opened the door and literally almost fell over as to who was at the door. "Well aren't you going to invite me in?" Thomas said to his son. Chase came downstairs and saw who it was and said "What the fuck do you want?" "Who the hell are you? I am here to talk to my son, mind your business" Thomas said. "He clearly doesn't want to talk to you get lost" Chase said trying to close the door. Thomas put his foot in the door and said "Listen here punk, this doesn't concern you this is between me and Rocky" Thomas said. Rocky looked terrified he didn't know what to say or do as Chase managed to get the door closed and he locked it. "Rocky man are you okay?" Chase asked, Rocky didn't move he was in shock, he knew his dad was out of prison but he didn't expect this. Thomas knocked on the door again and said "Rocky I am not leaving until we talk, please I just want to talk" Thomas said. Rocky looked at the door and then again at Chase, "I won't leave you until you say" Chase said knowing what Rocky was going to do. Rocky took a deep breath and opened the door wondering what his father would have to say after everything he put him through.
