The next morning Chase woke up with Skye on his chest and he kissed her forehead and gently pushed her off. Chase showered and dressed for work as he left Skye a note and went down to grab breakfast. "I'm off to work mom, Skye is still asleep upstairs" Chase said as he walked out the door with Ace. Once he arrived he was greeted by detective Tavers and Bruiser, "Morning Chase how are you feeling this morning?" Tavers asked, "I'm okay hope we are doing something easier today" Chase said. "Yes, I am going to train Ace up a bit while you take a look at some old case files. If you can solve them great if not its okay too" Tavers said. "They are real cases though?" Chase asked, "Yes from a long time ago they were just never solved" Tavers said. "Okay I will try solve them" Chase said. "Chase don't put to much pressure on yourself, I don't expect miracles as most of the people from them are dead." Tavers said, "It is okay I will try solving them" Chase said as he started reading the first case.

Skye woke up to Chase's note it read:

Morning beautiful, I had to go to work, I love you good luck with your new job today. I know you will crush it, you are the sexiest pilot I know.

Skye smiled as she read it and dressed in clothes as she leaves some at Chase's house now and went downstairs. Katie had made her breakfast, "Thanks Katie" Skye said as she ate the breakfast and went to her new job. It was 9 am and Everest came in the door with Josh and Callie, "Morning grandma!" the twins said as they ran towards her and gave her a hug. "Morning my sweethearts" Katie said hugging them back. "Sorry don't mean to to intrude, I just need a mommy break" Everest said, "Haha okay go home for a bit I have them" Katie said, "are you sure?" Everest said. "Yes go quick" Katie said and Everest didn't hesitate as she ran home, Katie gave the twins some fruit salad and put a movie on for them. This gave Everest some time to plan their 3rd birthday party she wanted to do a circus theme.

Chase was trying to figure out the case he was reading, it was of a young girl that went missing, her body was never found. The case happened way before Chase was even born and he was reading all the notes made by several detectives. He wondered why no one suspected the step dad as all the notes clearly pointed to him. Chase found detective Travers and said "I know who killed this girl" "What?" Tavers asked questioning him, "This girl Sarah, I know who killed her" Chase said. Tavers looked at it and said "Do you?" "Yes it is obvious it was the step dad, I mean his answers for these questions all point to him." Chase explained. "Well done Chase, but there is nothing we can do" Tavers said. "Why not?" Chase asked, "This case was over 30 years ago, everyone involved is dead" Tavers said. "Hmm, well I was hoping we could find the body" Chase said. "We can't if we have no clues to where it is, anyways I have Ace here training he is doing well" Tavers said showing Chase what his pup could do. Chase watched his pup train and tried to solve a few more cases but he was unable to come up with any answers. Overall he felt his day was kind of a bust but at least Ace was learning something.

Chase arrived home and collapsed on the couch feeling like he didn't accomplish anything. "Rough day?" Katie asked, "No I never really did much, I just studied old case files and helped train Ace" Chase said. "I see, well your father and I are going out tonight, and Cassie has a friend staying over, they are both upstairs. Please keep and eye on her" Katie said as she left to go meet Ryder. Chase didn't really have a choice at this point and he was a little disappointed as he ran upstairs. "Hey squirt" Chase said, "Hey" Cassie answered, "What are you girls doing?" Chase asked, "none of your business go away Chase!" Cassie said, "Okay fine I am downstairs if you need me" Chase said leaving his sister's room. "Damn you brother is hot" Hannah said, "Ew Hannah that is gross" Cassie said. The girls were painting their nails and braiding their hair, then they decided to watch a horror movie. Skye came over and explained her day to Chase, "I flew a couple today, they wanted to see all of Adventure Bay and its surrounding cities. They paid me 500$ for the day" Skye said. "Are you for real? 500$ Skye that is awesome!" Chase said, "I know I love my job!" Skye said as they watched some TV, Skye was making him watch the Vampire Diaries. Chase was actually surprised he was enjoying it even if he never wanted to admit it.

Chase heard a scream from upstairs and ran as fast as he could, "What is going on?" he asked, Cassie burst out laughing and she said "Sorry Chase, umm we are watching a scary movie and Hannah just was scared we are okay" Cassie said. "Okay but I don't really like the idea of you watching scary movies" Chase said. "Please Chase, I am 10 I am not scared" Cassie said as Hannah was covering her eyes. "Your friend is" Chase pointed out as he left and went back downstairs. It was getting late as Chase and Skye made their way upstairs, Katie and Ryder came home and Chase said goodnight. "Night Chase, how were Cassie and her friend?" Katie asked, "They were good, nothing to exciting" Chase said, Katie nodded and her and Ryder went to bed themselves. "Callie and Joshua are going to be 3 in a week can you believe that" Skye said, "No I can't they grew up way to fast, Callie is a sassy little girl. Josh is just so laid back it is hard to judge him. I think he might be a genius like Rocky" Chase said, "That would be so cute" Skye said as she pictured what her kids would look like and they fell asleep.

One week has passed and Chase was learning so much from detective Tavers he felt like he was going to be as good as him. He never did hear from the NBA but he didn't take it personally as he was happy with what he was doing. It was the day of the twins party and they were hanging out with their Nana, Everest's mom so she could set up for the party without them being there. "I can't believe our babies are going to be 3" Everest said as she started to cry. "I am happy they are finally little people and are a heck of a lot more fun" Marshall said, "I agree I can actually have a conversation with them now" Chase said as he blew up balloons. Zuma and Zoe were also blowing up balloons but they were more or less flirting rather than helping. "You 2 are not even doing anything" Chase complained. "Sorry Chase it is just funny how she can't tie a balloon" Zuma said as the balloon flew away from Zoe again making the farting noises. Zuma burst into laughter and Chase rolled his eyes thinking he as being immature. The party was finally set up and Paige brought her grandkids Callie and Josh were so excited. They had several of their little friends there from play group and a lot of circus fun. Raymundo even let them use his animals so the kids were able to ride the elephants and everyone was having a blast.

Rocky and Ella were talking about their wedding and Ella said "Rocky I would like to get married in May, it is my favorite month" "Okay why?" Rocky asked, "It is the month of spring and flowers and its warm but not hot and it smells beautiful" Ella said. "Okay deal any specific date?" Rocky said, "No you can pick the day" Ella said. "What is your favorite number?" Rocky asked, "Mine is 3" Ella said, "Awesome mine is 2 so lets get married on the 23rd?" Rocky said. "Sounds perfect!" Ella said as they announced to everyone their wedding date. Everyone congratulated them and Ella was so excited to plan for her big day. Callie was having way to much fun at her party as their were lots of junk food and she was super hyper. "Oh man getting her to bed tonight is going to be a nightmare" Everest said, "Just get Ryder to do it he is the child whisperer" Katie said. "Yeah he does have a way with her, I never did understand" Everest said. "If only he could have the same way with Cassie then I wouldn't be caught in the middle all the time" Katie said. "It is hard she is getting older so I understand, I was never close with my dad either" Everest said. "Ryder is an amazing dad, he is just protective of her" Katie said. "I get that too, I feel like Marshall will be the same way" Everest said. "Oh yes" Katie agreed, Callie and Josh's friends all went home as the party started to run down. Everyone was getting tired and to Everest's surprise both Callie and Josh passed out around 8pm and they were put to bed.

It was 2 am and Chase was woken up to his phone ringing he rolled over and answered "hello" he said sleepily, "Sorry Chase, we have a case, I was hoping you could come and give me a hand" Tavers said. "Okay I am coming" Chase said as he stretched and dressed, he left a note for his parents and grabbed Ace and left the house. Chase arrived at the station and was told what was going on. "We have a missing person's case, there is a 14 year old girl missing. Her parents reported her missing as her mother went to check her bed and she wasn't there. The parents are waiting for us let's go" Tavers said. "Hello Ma'am I am detective Tavers this Chase, can you tell me when was the last time you saw your daughter?" Tavers asked, "When she went to sleep at 10" her mother said. "Could she have gone to a friends place?" Chase asked jumping in, "I don't know I tried calling her and she never answered." her mother explained. "Do you mind if we take a look in her room?" Tavers asked, the mother gave them permission as Bruiser and Ace checked for any signs or evidence. They didn't find anything suspicious in her room and Chase went back to the mother and said "Does your daughter have Facebook or Instagram?" "I am not sure" her mother said. "What is her name?" Chase asked, "Penny Haywood" her mother said, "Chase looked up her name on Facebook and checked for anything suspicious. "Did you know about Dylan's party tonight?" Chase asked, "Yes she mentioned it but I told her she couldn't go" her mother said. "You don't think she snuck out and went to do you?" her mother said, "I have a feeling yes if you like we could go and check it out?" Chase said, "Yes please she is in so much trouble!" her mother said. "I will let you take the lead on this Chase, I feel you will relate better to her" Tavers said as they drove to Dylan's house.

Chase and Ace went inside and he showed the doorman his police badge that he was given, "This real? you seem to young to be a cop" the doorman said, "yes it is real and I am training, my boss is in the car. Should I grab him or are you going to let me in?" Chase said, the doorman let Chase is and he gave Ace, Penny's scent and said "go find her" Ace took off running as he was picking something up. Chase followed him through the house and upstairs and he thought it was weird that Penny was in a closed room. Chase found the door locked and he said "Open up police" he heard movement from inside but no one came to the door, Chase used some force and was able to break it down. He saw Penny lying on the bed clearly unconscious with her pants off. There was no sign of anyone else, the window was open, Chase called detective Travers. "What's going on?" Tavers answered, "I found Penny, it is not good, I think she was raped" Chase said feeling a little sick. Tavers came up to the room and Bruiser sniffed around and Ace helped as they found the scent of whoever was in the room with Penny. Tavers called an ambulance and they arrived taking Penny to the hospital. Meanwhile Bruiser had found the boy who attacked her and Tavers apprehended him and took him to the station. Since he was a minor they would call his parents and a judge would decide his fate. "His she going to be okay Marshall?" Chase asked as he was in the ambulance that showed up, "Yeah she was given a drug, she is alive. We will get her checked out at the hospital, you did good Chase" Marshall said. Chase didn't feel like he did good he wasn't able to prevent the girl from getting rapped and she was only 14 years old. "Man being police is hard" Chase thought to himself, as Tavers praised him and told him to go home. Chase lay awake thinking he wished he was there sooner even if it was a split second.

Penny was examined at the hospital and it turns out Chase was able to save her in time as the boy wasn't able to rape her. Chase arrived just in the nick of time and even though Penny regretted going to the party she was saved. Tavers gave Chase the day off today after phoning him and telling him that he did in fact save Penny. Tavers was proud of Chase he was learning and gaining skills to be a detective quicker then he thought. Tavers felt that he could leave knowing Chase would be able to take his place. Ace did need a bit more training though but he would eventually get there.
