Chase woke up he was really excited that it was the weekend he wanted so badly to just spend a dew days with Skye. He showered and dressed for the day and headed downstairs to find the house was empty. "Weird they must be out" Chase thought as he made breakfast and then headed over to Marshall's house. "Hello Chase" Everest said as she was feeding the twins, "Morning Marshall working today?" Chase asked, "Yes but he has tomorrow off" Everest said, "Cool how you doing my little ladybug? and you my boy?" Chase asked his niece and nephew. "Uncle Chase I love you" Josh said, "I love you to bud" Chase said. Callie smiled at him and then she threw a piece of toast at him. "Well that was a bit rude" Chase said. Callie stuck out her tongue and Everest rolled her eyes "she is testing my patients these days" she said, "Most kids do, she will be even more exciting as a teenager" Chase said. "Let's not age her up yet she just turned 3" Everest said. "I know but think about how you were as a teenager, that will be your daughter" Chase said. Everest shivered at the thought as she cleaned up from breakfast, Chase played with his niece and nephew while Everest took a shower and dressed for the day. Chase was waiting for Skye as she was coming over soon and he was excited to see her.
At 11 am Skye arrived and Chase greeted her with a kiss causing both Josh and Callie to giggle, "Can you two not make out in front of my children" Everest said, "they love it look at them" Chase said as she ran over to Callie and tickled her causing her to erupt with even more giggles. Chase and Skye stayed for a bit longer as Callie and Josh were getting ready to be put down for a nap. "Thanks for this morning" Everest said as Chase and Skye went to spend the day together. "Where are we going?" Skye asked, "It is a surprise" Chase said as Chase drove them to a secret location. Once they arrived Chase had a blindfold on Skye and she couldn't handle the anticipation as he guided her out of the car. Once they were inside he removed the blindfold and they were in the space auditorium and Skye said "this is where we had our first date" "yup and look" Chase said reveling the picnic food, "Aw you even have the same picnic set up, this is sweet" Skye said as they lay on the blanket watching the stars and eating the food.
After about and hour Skye started to feel a pain in her stomach she tried to adjust herself and ignore it but it was getting worse. "OW" Skye said as she started to cry, "What is wrong Skye?" Chase said wondering if he hurt her, "my stomach Chase, it really hurts" Skye said. "Why? What can I do?" Chase said. "Ow Chase it really hurts" Skye said crying and she was hunched over in pain. Chase called 911, "911 what is your emergency?" the dispatcher asked. "My girlfriend is in a lot of pain, she says her stomach hurts" Chase said. "Okay where are you?" the dispatcher asked, "We are at the space auditorium" Chase said, "is she pregnant? as she eaten anything she shouldn't have?" the dispatcher asked. "No to both questions, please hurry she is hurting" Chase said. "The ambulance is on the way" the dispatcher assured him. Shortly after the ambulance arrived and Chase was thankful it was Marshall, "Skye are you okay?" he asked. "No it really hurts please make it stop hurting" Skye said in between tears. Marshall gave her an IV and a little bit of morphine. "Can I come?" Chase asked, "Yes" Marshall said as they loaded Skye into the ambulance and drove to the hospital
"What is wrong with her Marshall" Chase asked, "I am not sure, it could be a number of things. I think we should let a doctor look at her" Marshall said as they arrived at the hospital and Skye was taken in to be examined. Chase paced the waiting room meanwhile Marshall had texted Rocky as he didn't want Chase to be alone and he had to leave to go back to work. Rocky arrived at the hospital with Ella and they waited with Chase he was getting very antsy not knowing what was going on. Ella had called Skye's mom and she arrived as well and now everyone was just waiting for anything. Finally a doctor came out and said "Are you her mother?" "Yes is my baby okay?" Lynne said. "She is going to be just fine, your daughter is suffering from an ectopic pregnancy, basically the baby as planted itself outside of her uterus. We are taking her to surgery and she should be just fine" Dr. Shepard said. Lynne was shocked she had no idea her daughter was pregnant she wondered if Chase knew. She decided not to tell him as she thought Skye should, "Is she okay Mrs. Sterling?" Chase asked, "She is going to be fine she is going in for a little surgery. She will be just fine" Lynne said. "Surgery for what?" Chase asked panicking for his girl, "I am not sure the doctor didn't say" Lynne quickly lied hoping Chase wouldn't catch on.
Several hours later Dr. Shepard came back and said "surgery went well Skye should be waking up soon you may all go in and see her" Chase was the first one in the room as Skye was waking up and he kissed her. "You okay baby? I was worried" Chase said, "I am okay Chase, do you mind if I talk to my mom for a sec" Skye said eyeing her mom. "No I will be just outside" Chase said, Sky nodded and Chase left the room with Rocky and Ella, "I am sorry mom" Skye said. "For what?" Lynne said, "For what just happened" Skye said, "Honey, did you know you were pregnant?" Lynne asked, "No, I didn't even think to check because I am taking birth control" Skye said, "We might have to get you on a different pill this one obviously isn't working. Honey there is no reason to be sorry I am just happy you are okay" Lynne said hugging her. "Does Chase know?" Skye asked, "Nope I thought you should tell him" Lynne said. "Or I could just not tell him, he is going to freak out" Skye said. "I think he is just going to be happy that you are okay" Lynne said. "Yeah you are right" Skye said and Lynne opened the door letting Chase, Rocky and Ella back into the room. "What is going on Skye?" Chase asked, "Well I had a little scare with an ectopic pregnancy but everything is okay now" Skye said. "You are pregnant?" Chase said feeling a little sick. "No Chase I was but it implanted outside my uterus so they needed to remove it. It was basically just an egg there as no baby, I am going to adjust my birth control" Skye said. "Pregnant" Chase repeated. Skye rolled her eyes, "he will get there eventually Skye give him time. Are you okay?" Rocky asked. "Yes I am thank you for coming" Skye said, "Your welcome feel better" Rocky said as he and Ella gave Skye a hug and left. "You good honey, I need to go get some sleep my shift starts soon" Lynne said. "I am okay thanks mom" Skye said as she looked at Chase.
"Chase I am not pregnant please stop freaking out. I am okay I promise" Skye said, Chase sat in the chair beside her and said "Don't ever scare me like that again, that was the worst 4 hours of my life" Chase said. "I am sorry Chase, I was scared to you know" Skye said, "I know but I love you Skye so much, I can't stand the idea of anything ever happening to you. Please don't ever leave me" Chase said. "I can't promise you that I won't ever leave you. I do promise that I won't ever leave you on purpose. I love you too Chase so much" Skye said kissing the top of his head and falling asleep. Chase held her hand and watched Skye sleep listening to the sound of machines beeping in the background. Chase really did hate hospitals and he was hoping Skye wasn't here for long as he didn't know if he could stay here.
The next morning everyone knew about Skye and she had a lot of visitors as everyone wanted to know what was going on. "I am okay, it was not a viable pregnancy and since I had no idea I am not sad. I am going to be fine" Skye assured everyone as she was getting tired of saying it. Dr. Shepard came into the room and said "Skye everything looks good, I am sending you home provided that you rest for a couple of days. I will give you a prescription for pain meds and only take them if you need them" "Okay thank you" Skye said and Chase was relieved as he texted Marshall,
Chase: Skye getting released need my car
Marshall: Already in the parking lot, Keys are on the table by the window
Chase: Thanks man
Marshall: No problem
Chase grabbed his keys and helped Skye get dressed as they made their way to the car, and Chase said "You want to go to your house or mine?" Chase asked, "Yours" Skye said, "Awesome" Chase said as he drove home. He helped Skye sit on the couch and he turned the vampire diaries on and brought her snacks. "Thanks Chase" Skye said as they cuddled under the blankets and just watched the show. After a few episodes Skye had to get up to use the bathroom and she looked at her scar in the mirror and she was sad, "It looks horrible, i really hope that this doesn't mean I can't have kids. God I need to have a baby with Chase, not right now but eventually" Skye said to herself. She came back out and cuddled back into Chase as Cassie came home. "You okay Skye I heard" Cassie said, "I am good" Skye said, "Good Chase take care of her" Cassie said as she ran upstairs. "Oh I intend to" Chase said giving Skye a kiss as he watched the show with her. Skye had fallen asleep as Chase went to make her something to eat for when she woke up.
After a few hours Skye woke up and ate the meal Chase had made for her, "This is amazing Chase, best grilled cheese ever" Skye said. "Yes I know, I have a trick" Chase said, "can you tell me?" Skye said. "Nope it is my secret recipe" Chase said as they basically just binge watched TV all day. It took a few days but Skye had recovered enough and was able to return to work and so was Chase. He was hoping for an easy week as he was not ready to jump back into solving murders. Skye was making a lot of money flying people around Adventure bay as flying by Charter plane was faster than driving. She was hoping that one day she would move on to bigger planes but she loved her job. Ace was finally getting the hang of smelling different objects as Bruiser was a great teacher, Tavers was hoping that the next case Chase was going to be able to use Ace and solve it on his own. Tavers would of course be there to observe but he felt confident that Chase could pull this off. "Chase I think you are ready to do one on your own, I mean we don't have a case right now. Next one we get I am letting you take the lead, I think both you and Ace are ready" Tavers said. "Are you sure? I mean what if I screw it up somehow?" Chase said. "You won't you did a good job on the Penny case and I have confidence that you can do it Chase. You are really good at this stuff" Tavers said. Chase just nodded he was nervous but he was taking Tavers's word for it as he wanted to be great at his job.
