Zoe was so excited that her wedding day was getting closer she was having her bachelorette party and she couldn't be happier. Alyssa has her maid of honor had a very glamorous day planned out as she booked them a spa trip. Zoe is all about the glam and being pampered and Skye, Everest and Ella were excited to get the chance to relax. Alyssa picked everyone up and drove them to the airport as Skye was flying them to their spa trip, the boys were also throwing Zuma a bachelor party and Rocky as his best man planned a underwater adventure for them. Even though Rocky was terrified of doing this he was doing it for Zuma and he knew that his friends would not let him drown. "Are you sure about this Rocky?" Zuma asked as they were getting into their wet suits. "Yeah sure I mean what could be more fun then swimming with a bunch of sea creatures that can potentially eat you" Rocky said with a fake smile. "We don't have to do this, I would have been cool with just a movie" Zuma said. "I already paid we are doing this, just don't let me die" Rocky said. "We have your back" Chase said as he was actually really excited for this.
They were sent into the sea and Rocky was actually surprised at how much he liked it, he was staying dry but the sea creatures were cool. They watched and swam for about an hour and then they had to come up because their air tanks were getting low. They had to emerge slowly as they were under the water for quite sometime. Once they came back up Marshall said, "That was so cool" "Yeah never seen some of those creatures up close" Rubble said. "I can't believe that in 2 days I am going to be marrying Zoe" Zuma said. "Me either I can't believe you guys are getting married so young" Chase said. "Why? we love each other and we know that we are meant to be" Zuma said. "Yeah I mean don't you feel that way about Skye?" Rocky asked, "of course I do and I want to marry Skye I just want to do something in my life first. I mean I don't want kids at 19 and I want to be settled down before I get married. I want a house and a good job so I can provide for her" Chase said. "I get where you are coming from, I want all that too but I just can't imagine my life without Zoe and I want to be her husband." Zuma said, Chase didn't know why Zoe couldn't still be his as his girlfriend but he never said anything. The boys were headed back to Zuma's for the rest of the evening. They had to go in separate vehicles as Chase's car was not big enough for everyone to fit. Zuma and Rocky were driving in front of them and it started to rain as it was getting harder to see. Just then lightning hit a power pole on the other side of the street and it caused a car to swerve and it hit Zuma and Rocky's car head on, Chase managed to swerve as to not hit the back of Zuma's car.
"Holy shit!" Chase said as Marshall jumped into action to see if they were okay, Rubble and several other people were calling 911. It didn't take long for the paramedics and firetrucks to arrive, Marshall could feel that both Rocky and Zuma had a pulse so he knew they were alive, Rocky didn't look as bad as Zuma. The drivers side of the car was squished more and Zuma was pinned pretty good as the firefighters tried to extract them from the vehicle, the driver in the other car didn't make it and he died from his injuries. Rocky and Zuma were extracted from the vehicle and taken to the hospital and the others just waited. Chase had called Rocky's mom and she was pacing the waiting room as were Zuma's parents who Rubble called. Chase had tried both Ella and Zoe's phones and didn't get a response so he called Skye praying she would pick up.
"Hey babe" Skye said sweetly, "Hey Zoe and Ella didn't pick up" Chase said, "No they are getting a massage right now, what is wrong?" Skye said sensing the panic in Chase's voice. "Skye you need to bring them home right now, there has been an accident" Chase said. Skye didn't need anything else as she barged into the massage room and said, "Sorry we need to go now, please get dressed quickly" Skye said causing both Ella and Zoe to panic. They dressed quickly and came out "What is wrong Skye?" Ella asked worried, "Chase just called me, it is raining in Adventure Bay, a power pole was struck by lightning causing a driver to panic and he swerved and crashed into Zuma's car, he and Rocky are in bad shape" Skye said. Ella and Zoe both looked horror struck as they burst into tears. Alyssa and Skye managed to get them onto the plane and Skye was thankful it wasn't a long flight. She flew them home in record time and Alyssa drove them to the hospital. Zoe hugged Zuma's parents as they waited for any news, after what felt like hours Dr. Shepard came out. "I am just going to say this to everyone as I know you are all worried, Rocky is in surgery and should be out soon, he had some internal bleeding, but we managed to get it under control. His other injuries are minor and he should heel just fine, Zuma on the other hand took the damage more extensively, we did lose him twice but we were able to bring him back. He is currently in a coma and we are not sure how bad the injury to his brain is, he does have some swelling in his brain but we are monitoring it very closely, he does also have a broken pelvis and is going to need a few surgeries to repair the damage. Someone will come and get you when you can visit them" Dr. Shepard said as she walked away going back to her patients. Zoe broke down she couldn't believe that her soon to be husband was hurt so badly. Skye, Everest and Alyssa held her tightly as Ella was hugging Rocky's mom they all just wanted them to be okay.
A nurse came and said "Hello, Rocky is out of surgery and in recovery family may go in and see him" Ella and Rachel walked together as they went into his room Rocky looked at them and smiled. "Hey" he said, "Hey yourself, are you okay?" Ella asked, "I am a bit sore but I am okay, is Zuma okay?" Rocky asked seeing the worry on their faces. "No his injuries are worse, his brain is swelling and he is in a coma. He also broke his pelvis so he is going to need several surgeries" Ella said. "Oh man, the other guy the one who hit us? That lighting was close to the road it scared even us" Rocky said. "He didn't make it" Rachel said as she hugged her son she was just thankful he was okay. Everyone else was able to come say a quick hello to Rocky as he was told he needed to rest. He was also very tired from all the pain meds and he fell asleep fairly quickly. Zuma looked like he was barely hanging on as he was attached to so many machines, Zoe said and held his hand as she prayed silently. Alyssa and Zoe's mom had cancelled everything for the wedding as they knew it was not going to happen at this point. "Why did this have to happen Chase?" Zoe asked as Chase stood behind her. "I don't know Zoe, we are all here for you if you need anything" Chase said. "The only thing I need right now is for my fiancée to wake up" Zoe said as she cried. Chase gave her a hug and said "We all want that, watching it was horrible" Chase said as he had flashbacks from his car accident. Nobody could really do anything but wait as they all came to visit whenever they could. Zoe never left his side and neither did his parents it was sad just watching them all cry for him.
"There has to be something we can do for them" Everest said, "like what it is not like we can snap our fingers and make Zuma wake up" Skye said. "I know but today should have been the happiest day of Zoe's life and now she is crying and praying that the love of her life doesn't die. I am not just going to sit here and do nothing" Everest said. "I am with you Eve but what can we do?" Alyssa said. "Zuma's 2 most favorite things are Zoe and water, maybe we can bring the ocean to him" Rocky said. "What how?" Chase asked, "just leave it to me I have a plan" Rocky said as he tried to get out of his bed. "Dude you were just in a car accident, tell me the plan and I will make it happen" Chase said pushing him back into his bed. "Okay bring me my laptop and a USB drive" Rocky said. Chase did what he was told and had both within a few minutes, Rocky didn't take long to put the ocean sounds on the USB drive. "Here go play this in his room, I am not sure what we can do about the wedding part, but maybe we can try wake Zuma" Rocky said. Everyone except Ella left Rocky's room and Chase noticed that Zuma's parents had left, "Hey Zoe, where are his parents?" Chase asked, "they went home to shower and eat, they will be back later" Zoe said. Chase plugged in the USB to the laptop and the sound of the ocean filled the room. "It sounds so peaceful" Zoe said in between her sobs, "yeah I think it is why Zuma loves it so much. He feels at peace" Chase said as he and Skye sat and listened as they hoped Zuma would wake up.
It had been 3 days since the accident and Dr. Shepard came and did her check in on Zuma, "his recent brain scan shows the swelling has gone down, I would like to schedule him in for his first surgery to repair his pelvis" she said. Zuma's parents gave their consent and his surgery was scheduled for the next morning. It was a long and grueling surgery as their was a lot of damage that needed to be repaired. Dr. Shepard had discovered that his hip was also pretty damaged and she also repaired that. She also noticed the damage to his spine and was worried that he might be paralyzed which worried her. Several hours later she came to the family and said "we noticed a few more problems as we started the surgery, his hip was damaged as well so we had to repair that. The thing that concerns me is the damage to his spinal cord, he had a fracture to his L4 spine and I am not sure if he will be paralyzed from it. I am hoping that it is not the case but as for right now all we can do it wait" Zoe broke down again and she literally couldn't contain herself, Zuma's parents were also heartbroken. No one really knew what to do as they didn't know how to help, Skye and Everest kept brining food as they knew the cafeteria food was bad.
One week after the accident Zuma finally opened his eyes as he looked around the room and saw his parents and Zoe asleep beside him. He squeezed Zoe's hand as she was the only one touching him. "Oh my god Zuma" Zoe said as she pushed the nurse button, and woke his parents. The nurse came into the room with Dr. Shepard and she removed the breathing tube, "Can you tell me your name?" Dr. Shepard said, "Zuma Thorne" Zuma replied, "Okay and do you know who these people are?" Dr. Shepard pointed at them, "My parents and my girl Zoe, oh no our wedding" Zuma said realizing what was going on. "Don't worry about that I am just happy you are alive" Zoe said kissing him. "Okay Zuma can you wiggle your toes for me?" Dr. Shepard asked, Zuma was able to move them slightly, "I can but it hurts" Zuma said. "Okay it is good you can move them, I will give you some pain meds. Just rest up Zuma you have a lot of recovering to do" Dr. Shepard said as she left the room. Zoe texted everyone letting them no Zuma was awake and okay, they were all very happy and promised to stop by when they could. Zuma's dad knowing his son was going to be alright headed back to work. Zoe went home for a bit as she really needed to shower and change her clothes. Zoe knew that her wedding was on hold for now but she was just thankful that her fiancée was alive and didn't seem paralyzed.
