As Skye was recovering from her plane crash she was not ready to jump back into flying just yet. Chase didn't push her either as he didn't want to pressure her or make her do something she wasn't ready for. Chase left for work as he was starting to get more and more calls, they were not major crimes but the town was keeping him busy. Skye was watching TV when she received a surprise visit from Cassie, "Hi Skye how are you feeling?" Cassie asked. "I am okay, people are anxious for me to get back to work but I am just not ready" Skye said. "I hear you go when you are ready. I have a question for you" Cassie said. "Alright" Skye said curious, "What do you know about softball?" Cassie asked. "Not a whole bunch but I know how to play" Skye said, "Awesome cuz I need your help, our school softball team was all ready to go and then our coach bailed and they want to cancel. I was really looking forward to playing and I thought of you, can you coach our team?" Cassie asked with pleading eyes. "I mean I am not qualified I would have no idea what to do" Skye said. "We all know what to do we just need a coach, basically you need to show up and we as a team will do the rest please Skye please!" Cassie begged. "Alright Cassie I will give it a try" Skye said, "Oh thank thank you our first practice is tomorrow afternoon" Cassie said as she hugged her and went home.
Skye decided to make Chase dinner as she hadn't done anything all day and she was bored. It was just after 6 when Chase came home and Skye had dinner ready, she made a lasagna with homeade garlic bread. "Wow Skye this looks amazing" Chase said giving her a kiss, "Thanks how was work?" Skye asked. "Good I found 3 lost pets and a missing child" Chase said, "really they make you look for lost pets?" Skye asked. "Yeah I don't mind I mean it keeps me busy and Ace really likes it so I am going to keep doing it" Chase said. "Wouldn't you want to solve crimes?" Skye asked. "Of course but I don't want people to die for me to solve a crime. Adventure Bay is small and I don't expect much but bad things do happen. When they do happen I will be ready I just love helping people and if finding a cat is what they want then I will help." Chase said. "You really are to nice of a person. I love you Chase!" Skye said, "I love you to beautiful" Chase said back, "Oh I am going to coach Cassie's softball team" Skye said with excitement. "Oh that sounds fun, please don't take this the wrong way but are you going to go back to work?" Chase asked. "When I am ready, I am just not ready" Skye said a little angry. "Okay babe I am sorry want to go for a dip in the pool?" Chase asked. "Sure" Skye said as she they enjoyed their evening together.
The next day Skye was actually excited to coach softball as she did some research so she didn't look like a complete idiot. Chase kissed her and left for work hoping something more would happen today. Skye did a few chores then headed to the school to meet with Cassie, going into the high school gave her memoires. Ryder greeted her and said "Hello Skye, I hear you are the coach. Are you sure about this?" Ryder asked. "Yes I am ready, and thank you for giving me the opportunity" Skye said. "Your welcome just know it is not a high paying job as it is only for 3 months of the year" Ryder said. "I know but I am not ready to go back to flying yet and I want to help out Cassie so here I am" Skye said. Cassie came up to them and said "Skye thank you so much, are you ready?" "Yup lead the way" Skye said as they headed to the field. All the girls were waiting and Skye said, "Alright girls, I know I may not know much but I am ready to coach this team to a victory this year who is with me?" Skye said. "We are!" the girls chanted as they all started practice. Skye was watching and they were all very good, she didn't think it was going to be a problem coaching them. After practice was over Skye said "Cassie you are all really good, I wasn't expecting that. I mean I don't think we are going to have any trouble" Skye said. "Thanks and we are good but we do struggle against the foggy bottom team for some reason they are just really aggressive. Our goal this year is to crush them and we are hoping you will help us" Cassie said. "Weird we always struggled against foggy bottom too, but don't worry your sister in law will not let you down" Skye said. "Thanks Skye you are the best!" Cassie said as Ryder drove them both home.
Chase had a bit of a busier day today as he was called in to find a bank robber who stole millions out of a bank vault. Chase and Ace were able to track him down and recover the money as his pup sniffed out the crook very easily. "Ace you really are amazing" Chase said as he gave his pup a treat and a pet. The crook was arrested and taken to jail as the money was returned to the vault and it was going to be better guarded now. Chase came home to a clean smelling house and he wondered how Skye did it all. "Hey babe how was your day?" Skye asked, "Good I caught a bank robber today" Chase said, "I heard about it I am glad you stopped him" Skye said, "how was your day?" Chase asked. "Awesome I cleaned the house, made dinner and coached a practice today. I had a lot of fun too Cassie and the girls are going to kill it this year" Skye said. "Good I am grateful you are helping my sister even though she is a bit of a pain" Chase said. "She is not, she is in high school now and at least she is focused on sports rather than boys" Skye said. "It is the sports that get her into the boys, my dad said that almost every guy in school is eye boggling her" Chase said. "She doesn't seem interested though I mean she didn't even mention boys once" Skye said. "Good lets hope we keep it that way" Chase said. "Ugh men!" Skye said. "The thought of my kid sister dating seriously scares me" Chase said, "Well get used to it because she isn't going to not date boys forever" Skye said. "I could only hope" Chase said, Skye hit him playfully as they finished dinner and Chase did the dishes.
Chase had a day off and he was excited to spend it with Skye they went for a morning walk with Ace and Aliya. Skye noticed that Aliya was panting a bit more than usual, "Chase I think something is wrong with Aliya she seems tired or something" Skye said. "I don't know do you want to get her checked out?" Chase asked. "Yeah maybe lets take her to your mom?" Skye said as they walked over to the vet clinic. "Hey mom" Chase said, "Hi honey what brings you by?" Katie said. "Aliya seems off she is not herself do you think you can have a quick look?" Skye said. "Sure bring her back" Katie said as she took Aliya and did a quick exam, Katie came out and said "Aliya is just fine, she is going to have puppies though" Katie said. "Puppies" Chase said, "Yes Chase she is pregnant with about 4 from what I can tell" Katie said. "Wow! Ace and Aliya are having puppies!" Skye said excitedly. "Oh um ok well thanks mom" Chase said as they walked back home. Chase was still grasping the idea I mean it wasn't children but still puppies was a lot of work. "Chase why are you taking this so hard it is not like they are children" Skye said. "I know but still I mean they are a lot" Chase said. "We can sell them for money we don't have to keep them" Skye said. Chase didn't think of that but he still felt uneasy as puppies was the first step to parenthood. Chase and Skye relaxed for the rest of the day by the pool as it was a nice warm spring day.
Skye went to coach her first game and the girls were already to go when she arrived. "Hi Skye!" Cassie greeted her as they prepared to face the badgers a team that Cassie was confident they could beat. The game was underway and Cassie as the team pitcher was able to strike a few girls out rather quickly. The game was a lot faster paced then baseball and before Skye knew it her team was ahead by 3 runs, it was the last inning and the wildcats one by 4 runs. "Way to go girls!" Skye said as they did a victory lap. "Skye we want to thank you for coaching us as we wouldn't have a team this year if it weren't for you" another girl on the team said. "It is my pleasure" Skye said. "Hey Skye can I ask you something?" Cassie said as the other girls went to the changeroom. "Sure honey anything" Skye said, "I know my dad and Chase have told you there are a lot of guys wanting to date me." Cassie said. "Yes Chase has mentioned it" Skye said, "I am just not sure what to do, I have all these guys asking me out but to be honest I am not interested" Cassie said. "That is not a bad thing Cassie, you are still young" Skye said. "No like I mean I am not interested. As in I am not sure I like guys" Cassie said. "Oh well that totally changes things then" Skye said. "I don't know what to do" Cassie said, "Cassie you treat it as you would any other situation, one of my good friends is gay and I love him to bits. It is not something that defines you it is a decision you need to make. If you are interested in girls then don't let anyone stop you. I don't think you should hide it from your family though" Skye said. "I know but how do I tell them?" Cassie said. "Well how about I invited you and your parents over to our house tomorrow for dinner and I can help you" Skye said. "Really oh thank you Skye!" Cassie said as she hugged her. "No problem and here comes your dad" Skye said. "Daddy can we go to Skye house for dinner tomorrow?" Cassie asked. "Umm?" Ryder said looking at Skye, "We would love to have you" Skye said. "Alright then dinner it is" Ryder said as he drove Cassie home.
Skye smiled as she was happy for Cassie she knew what she wanted and she was proud of her. She was a bit worried how Chase would react though as he was worried about her dating guys how would he feel about girls. The next day Skye was preparing a roast for dinner as Chase tried to help but he was just getting in her way. "Chase go clean the rest of the house, your parents are coming and you are not helping me by hovering" Skye said. Chase tidied up the rest of the house as the evening came and his parents along with Cassie arrived. "Hi!" Cassie said as she gave Chase a hug and everyone talked before dinner. "I have something to say" Cassie said, as everyone listened to her. "I don't want this to change anything as I am really scared it will, but I am not interested in dating boys" Cassie said. "That is fantastic" Chase said, Katie looked at Ryder and he didn't say anything. Chase didn't clue in but Cassie said "I am hoping you will still love me the same" as she had tears in her eyes. Katie was the first to speak, "Cassie my beautiful girl of course we still love you. I am not shocked here at all to be honest as you don't ever talk about boys. I just didn't think you were decided about something like this. I support you Cassie and I will always love you" Katie said. Chase clued in finally and said "wait so you are gay?" "the correct term for a woman Chase is lesbian, but yes I think so" Cassie said. Chase was shocked his baby sister was a lesbian how did he not see this coming. Ryder spoke next "As much as I am not ready for you to date guys, I am really not ready for you to date girls. Cassie I am not sure what to say here. I love you no matter what but it is a lot for me to take in" Ryder said. Skye didn't want to interrupt the moment but she said "dinner is ready" everyone went to the table and sat in silence. "Are you seriously sure?" Chase asked his sister, "Yes Chase I am sure" Cassie said. The rest of the evening went okay as Cassie felt better about her self and she hoped her parents meant what they said. Chase took the news the hardest but Cassie kinda have expected that.
Skye would continue to coach the girls softball team as they continued to win their games. As the end of the season was approaching and they were to play against their rival team the tigers in the next game.
