Batman found White Shadow on a roof of a building not far from the coast. She was looking at the bridge, the automatic gun was laying next to her feet.
She felt darkness flew over her and there he stood. His suit was damaged and blood dripping from the left side where the flash was open and scratched all the way to muscles.
-Gordon wants to arrest you because you used a gun but he is intended do it after we try to save this city.
-I see…
-I will give you to him by myself if you try to run.
-I will not. - was all she said.
It was silence for a minute and all they could hear was drops of blood from Batman's wounds popping on the metal roof.
-Is there anything we could do with you wounds? - she asked.
-I have to wait until my aircraft comes back. I used all supplies I had on me to prevent pain and sanitize wounds but I need to put stitches.
-Gordon have ten ambulance cars here I'm sure you could ask him for anything you need.
-Everything he has is for people of Gotham. I just have to wait.
-Do you want me to go and check the bridge one more time because the sunrise is in forty minutes.
-No. I'll do it myself. Now we just have to wait.
She didn't insist because she didn't mind to take a small rest after the fight.
The camp got back to normal and all wounded people were took cake off. Unfortunately police had to put into the ground all those who died. They did it on the far end of the beach. There were some people still crying for their loved once who passed but other than that the end of the night was quiet.
Batman was stranding on the roof looking at the other side of a river like a silent knight, his black cape was floating on the wind flapping hard. Despite of his wounds Batman didn't sit down. He was listening and then he heard it.
-It's coming back. - he said quietly but form.
The aircraft landed in an empty parking lot behind the building where Batman and White Shadow were waiting. They got down and inside the craft they found everything Batman needed for his wounds.
Nevertheless it was hard for him to do stitching on his own and White Shadow asked if she could be any help.
-We need to remove parts of your armor because it stuck inside your wound and will not allow to do stitching. - she said when Batman agreed with her helping him.
-I got a new suit here you can cut that part off.
She removed parts of the Batman's suit opening a huge wound where she could see some ribs and muscle tissue. It all looked bad but it could be fixed especially with all the tools and medicine Batman had inside his miniature surgery room on the aircraft.
She stopped the blood and cleaned wounds, there were no gunshot holes but instead the creatures got their scratching all over his back.
-I think you have broken rib or two or three. - she said looking carefully at the wound.
-Not the first time.
-Do you think you can catch mutation through wounds those creatures left? - she asked Batman while stitching his torn skin with a special gun.
-I'm working on this possibility and vaccine if it really happens.
-You would be a monster if it's contagious.
He didn't say anything to her but light smile touched left corner of his mouth.
They spent almost two hours on fixing all the wounds. It was time to check the bridge one more time before Gordon would try to get to the opposite side and talk to people of the Zone.
-I should go… - she said when Batman changed his destroyed suit for a new and, as White Shadow thought, a better one.
He looked at her calmly waiting for the end of the sentence.
-… to the Zone. I will try to help them because I think they may not like the idea of people crossing the bridge.
-They won't help their own citizens?
-Citizens from the main land who locked them up in the zones and treated as a heavy and dirty work force only, no medicine, no education, no nothing… yes, I feel like they wouldn't like to have them over.
-If fight breaks out you must not hurt citizens.
-I won't. But if Evan comes I give you no promise.
-You going to prison after that whether you want it or no and I will find you even if you run to the end of the world.
-I have no doubt in it. - she said and left the roof using fire escape.
