Chapter 13: Toppling the Inner Chamber of Hatred
/
Jason Kori Centric and then, there is Bruce and Ra's dispute too. Find out!
/
From the slums, they planned it all. Jason would find Tim before the lord of this land took note of his antics. Jason was closely involved in the meetings Arte gave. She was there for all of her smaller names, soldiers or no. Even exiled princes, had she the chance to realize she'd be helping a royal as he'd only woven that tale of finding his brother to a single soul in that stretch of days.
Kor'anna was in his thoughts, even stull. Even still, as they slipped off to the upstairs of her step father's inn. Even now, where she tapped his shoulder to lay beside her and talk of his troubles, which his troubles…were too much to share with this common and beautiful soul. So, they laid. They only did this as the sleep of night came, yet neither were without that other to hold. Totally inosculated in their bed, the teenagers knew that either would never talk about it – until the sun rose. And a knock, sounded at the door of that quieted inn.
/
Now, Kor'anna had simply taken it as fact for a time that Jason's mission was of greater value, yet on her travels the rumors of a son to the kingdom of a missing kind took her eye, so she wound up making her entrance to the woods as he had overlooking that metal town. Under its soil, was a buried gift by her father, and what it had been was no longer. The Tammeret were nomads because of her sister Kom'Ra, and for the first day, Kor'anna had told Jason none if why she would not face this horrible queen.
That her country had fallen long ago, and she's taken up the sacred pledge to dedicate her days to taming fire beasts in the hills just out of reach of the same ones that had killed off and enslaved her people. Kom'Ra had reached the ear of the sliver – king, the face taker. He was prone to a temper and just as a red-blooded male dragon, Kom'Ra was here. She had left her make as her sibling checked over the side at a proceeding in the town right by the square.
"Who….is that woman?" Her flitting dragon baby cooed over the side of Kor'anna's tanned shoulder. "I know, my friend. She is not to be seen as…but then what of our dear companion and prince, Jason?? I sense something horrible may happen…."
~ People if Steele – my people!"
The red headed princess gasped as the warriors drew back, the rebels stuck on how to fight. How to win, when their organizer was being taken away from them.
"I know the rebels' plan to overthrow me. Did you really believe there was a way? Where are you hiding them??" Her eyes lit up, and Kor'anna recognized that glow. "The gem….oh, no no…..she has….she has unearthed its contents!"
"TAKE THEM TO THE FORTRESS." Kom'Ra commanded the solders to act, and in the scuffle, in that line she saw him in disguise.
Jason, was a part of this plan to bring down the leaders from inside their guarded safe - home.
/
She flitted and thought; what to do. Her dragon was quite nervous as a light neighing had Kor'Anna jut up her ears. "Who is there??"
She saw from the brush a rather tired and sweet as honey steed. The same horse she had saved from that fall in to winter waters only days ago. "Dear creature…we will not allow you to starve as he does this." Kor'anna brought out a piece of star fruit from her home to the horse's lips as it took the fruit hungrily up. "You must graze, I will remove you from here while I work to save your companion, poor dear…" She shushed it sweetly with her hands as caring as a tamer and care giver to all living things with a muzzle. The horse instantly recalled this person as being good, and allowed Kor'anna to take it to a clearing where the meadow had places to hide and graze.
The young dragon was told to stay and protect the other, so it did. Knowing there were mice a plenty and all to keep it happy. Kor'anna flew towards the town with her feet nearly floating off the ground. She would confront after all this time, her sister. She would find if that gem truly had brought all if this pain to a place not deserving of such a fate.
While Jason and that rebel leader would be meeting her for the very last time.
/
King Wayne finally had reign in a way to leave his rooms and gather some fresh air. The partial desert and tropical ecosystem was calming, just as he had remembered it. Yet, the birth of his son however, was not so reassuring.
"Damian must come home, should you free the people." The princess told her lover as he smiled coyly to her, seeing right through her fatigue. "Your sons are in danger, my father would raze a continent for you, my love! I would –
"Wars to end wars cannot take as many lives as the enemy has without reason, Talia." Bruce chastised. "I would only keep them contained to learn of their miseries. I have no desire to kill those that wanted my trust."
"YET, you gave it, my darling." She brought a cool hand go his face. "Bring back my son, take your throne and grant that to the eldest of your kin and stay with him. Let Damian have only you…. I beg…"
Bruce gripped her hands and looked up and down what truly was hurting the princess of her keep. "Where is your lord, your father. Ra's." He let go her hands and walked, her feet keeping up barely as the desire to know if this was not true love; that she was feigning some innocence. That she had not told him why she wanted him to stay behind.
"Emperor Ra's!" Opening the wide doors to the grand throne room, wearing green and white, a goatee and sharp brows of a seer, Ra's turned to the king of the western world. "Ah, my dear guest." Smiling, the ruler did not seem changed. "Diplomats came to – day."
And then, it had.
"They, brought some horrible news…"
/
Tim scuttled by as the gossip went on. The town was abuzz. Someone had been taken to the tower where the two leaders he had read on posters, were currently plotting to overwhelm and destroy other industries in metal mining ore. His father had always had a hand in the people's well-being when that craft had come to their city. The desire to create greater medicine however was turned away by the council as witchcraft, only in the beginning. King Wayne had made it so as to integrate this need, as he'd won over a great number of the old ones to turn to this ideal of a life that kept growing.
But this was a shadow of that plan. The ore was dirty, and tough and smoke bellowed to cloud the air as never Tim had only seen – fog surrounded his home, but to him, never smog. Jason had not talked of it and ignored the boy's inquiries. Richard however, had put together a small white lie about where the smog went.
"It is controlled. The gods of the air will not touch it, so they allow it to pass and the rain of our lands casts it aside, so the little clouds have no home and they drift apart."
Yet Timothy knew better. The clouds had indeed found a home, here in the city that had belonged to his father. The truth was, that their home did not contain the factories for such a creation of metal product. It was blood on another's hands. A man, called Lord Sion.
/
His father could not have known it, yet the words off of that scroll paper that Grandl had shoved into the messenger's hands was golden. Richard would become a laughingstock and an outcast; he'd never have his happy end. Never.
The people rose throughout the throne room as the king proclaimed the time to be that his child should come into the world, praising his soon to be queen of this light affair while the people only claimed and praised the father. That Wayne's boy was a perfect bit of blood for the making of their new prince. Prince. Richard was light headed by the time he'd been taken to his rooms to rest. The king did not come right away as he pulled his own son to the side to speak. In private. "I know of your treason, my boy." The man said coarsely. "You are to revoke your position as captain for the time being, and I wish for you to have only that blade – there is trouble that only you may rend to."
He said that Sion was conspiring to press for more from their deal. He wanted him out, and Kom'Ra could very well prostrate once he was no more. "She was there to oversee to Wayne's amassed resources. You are to go to that city of steel and you are to report back. If there is an uprising, I must know of it in ten days. If there is any lack of this warning to ye, there will be no home here for you and your role will be to return to Defencia, a failure."
"Father…." Grandl gritted his hands as he took to this deal and thought, even so. "It, would be my honor to gain back your trust." He went to one knee as his father had the teen rise. "You will be wed to whomever I've chosen, so do this and the Lady Barbenthel perhaps might still hold some value to our court. And as your bride."
He'd lied. She had not escaped, yet he'd had the rest to believe that. In the dungeons, Barbenthel was kept upright in chains with her legs being nearly dead to her. She was not one to cry, yet the grin that peeled over the brunette's face nearly disturbed his father. "I shall not let you down, dear lord! I will grant you this task, for I will not fail it."
/
Richard held his stomach that night as his eyes were quite moist, then, only then he felt something as the boy drifted off…
He dreamed of a sea and himself, piloting a boat that could not rock with the waves yet stayed still. He had no paddles and no way off and towards an island where Slade held his youngest baby brother, dangling the boy over the waters as they burned as fire from the bowels of the hell - god's domain. Damian was thrown into those fires and Richard, woke.
His lower half felt moist as he checked and screamed as high as he could. The king burst through those doors as Selene right beside their hall quickly unbundled the queen's legs. "Congratulations, my king!" Her blood red lips gasped with a grin too wide to manage. Richard was shaking, his body detached from his saturated kind as that red river, bled directly OUT of him.
"What the devil is this??" The king stepped affront to intimidate Selene as she wagged a finger to quickly explain; he's broken, my lord! The child shall come once the bleeding stops. Your former queen has this as well, all women succumb to the womb bearing and now it has happened. The body is adjusted nearly so that whence the blood no longer runs red, your bride shall birth a demi God!"
The king had no way to spake, so he came to Richard's side and embraced him silently. "Leave us."
"Sire, this is what you wanted. Us it n –
"OUT!"
Selene frowned and waved her arm, hoping this grieving process was not going to last. "See to his state if you wish. I however would have linens and a bed pan handy."
/
(I hate pcos as much as I now hate my period but?? Cool thing, it helps with preventing brittle bones, hormones from going nuts like with amenorrhea, and increases the chance for other medical issues depending on the person and likelihood being cysts so….no, I hate it but I went through all if that too. Even the bone thing partly. Though poor Dick! I gave him that? Find out if he's not so happy about meeting Flo for the very first time. And Slade isn't being very normal…was he like that with Rose too? Wow…)
King Slade changed for only three days and then five, before long no longer visiting as Paam returned with her jubilant Harlin Quintet; her assistant with a secret she kept from all but the young Wayne's eyes. "Has the mother finally run damp?"
Richard's face blossomed pink as Harlin giggled and took to her doctor's bag of items they would need for the examination. "Collect the fluid and I'll evaluate how many days it will take to develop into your heir, my liege."
TTaking, was the key here. Dry, meant no longer red as Richard's king assessed his innermost thoughts as he welcomed his pet back into his sheets of a fierce loathing. "Paam wanted us as her subjects….what did the joyful jester girl yell you in my absence? Did she tell you that you were never to by mine? What powers are at play, little bride?"
And so, Richard wanted to find a way to divert all of his attention away from the babe in his belly. Only for just a moment, he spun a tale to send soldiers to the pair's secret laboratory in the dark woods. Paam was not found there, pulling mushrooms mountains off, yet Harlin.
Her blood red lips told a tale. "Tis your son a wretched thing to come after this witness? Fir I saw what he fails to tell even his Night – God!"
/
The day of the proclamation to springtime, the beatings came not to the boy, yet to the wretch and clown as she staggered off to some hollow place to lick her wounds. When the king told Paam of her betrayal, she swore no loyalty was to another and that, broke Harlin's heart – she vowed to find her broker Jaime, and she vowed to ask if his face so cried in shame –
"Shall we, go to overthrow the new king, my brother?"
/
Inside the tower of the steel city she loathed, Arte and Jason took on separate plots. Jason would be unseen soon enough, while she would draw attention away and allow him to free the workers in the mines below their feet to start a rebellion. The rebels were cautious to do so, for one swift act could indeed lead this tower to topple and Kom'Ra would react promptly to any other disobeying that lord's decree.
"Bring them to my throne room." The crackling voice of anger was to Sion. His great hoard was borne of metal and shame as the soldiers placed the rebels in a line side to side should ny brother and sister of the rebellion. "Who, is your leader. You organizer and mastermind of this attack? Kom'Ra?"
"I'd say the sporting red haired half fae. Or, is the leader, half Amazonian?"
"I am all warrior of my kin to the planes of the south." Arte spoke, while Jason looked on from his hiding spot. "Yet this city was also mu home, I fled here and was taken in by the many who raised me. Who know of my witness to these travesties. I beg that you spare them, highness –
"SHE IS NOT WHOM YE DHALST BEG FORGIVENESS." Sion stood, deeply offended that Kom'Ra was more feared than he had been made to understand.
"Actually, dear Sion." Kom'Ra turned to him and smiled apologetically back wkth a hand to her cheek. "These soldiers answer to no other. You are dismissed, by decree of King Slade himself! Guards? Have the moron and these slaves now locked below to feed the fires we'll produce! You shall all feast well, kno w that I have elected to run this institution on the king's behalf –
"You shall rule no more, sister dear!"
The wind swept through the doorways not, yet the roost above at one breach, fire split metal apart as the crashing sound had the guards and rebels to move out of the way. Growling, Kom'Ra gripped her gem from her chest as it began to harbor a false light. A red fire that had her shouting her battle cry before bounding into the air. Wings came from her back as a scaled lizard, as did Kor'anna while the two grew horns and teeth to face the time – their bodies truly changed. One was a green and orange flamed dragon, the other purple and with red fire, the red fire much darker as the orange fire looked warm as the sun.
"Dragon – faire!!" Sion shouted and pointed at the queen. "I shall tell King Slade of your treachery! You cannot steal what belongs to-
Arte dropped her arm to the neck of Sion as Jason helped the others to break their locks and aside went their chains. In this light 8t was right to free the victims in the mines to help them all to fight back. "We have to go!" One of the rebels pointed to the tower's inner walls as it looked ready to fall and turn to rust. "The heat those dragons have produced here is too great. The walls will not hold."
"I won't leave any comrades behind!" Jason leaped up and found a broken bit of metal to climb. Just as the trees and forts in his youth for entertainment, this was a war he could indeed face head strong and head on. He found Kor'anna as she allowed him to ride on her back. A blade in his hand as with one fell hold to the other dragon woman's throat –
He let her fall in a heap and return in form to that of a defeated , evil princess.
Now truly lost in what she had done, she bellowed out smoke and screeched, yet none of that reached Kor'anna as she looked away from Jason. "You…were a dragon?"
"Our people bonded with the great creatures of fire and in turn, they allowed us to thrive. The dragons were cast out. .and even if you cannot recall it, the ally of your father, Emperor Ra's was the one who had our clans fewer in numbers. My sister works not with the lord of this land Sion, but the king who leads this law to be reborn. I beg you, despite what they may do…!" She fell to him and beckoned on; "Allow me to help you liberate the kingdom and escape so that no other may fall to his dealings, of king Ra's who stole our world away… My sister is but one to desire power by a trade she cannot keep sacred," Kor'anna explained in a murmur. "The gem was meant to justly hold this land together, yet it has been destroyed and corrupted by her gift from the dark and evil dragons she now carries in vain inside her pitch-black fate…"
"This place of ours is not lost, princess." Arte spoke as Jason embraced the green eyes half dragon's shoulders in a comfortable way. Reassuring as her father had once been and her other siblings before their departure. "My brother is someone I shall indeed set free, for the children of Wayne are many – we must locate my siblings in the city. After, there will be reason for you to see just whom it is we might face." He turned his eyes away to Arte. "Will you do away with this traitor? Your people are not yet freed if –
"If the king sends his assassins, we shall be ready to face them. Together." Arte bowed as Kor'anna and their animals were on the path a ways, nearly close to Starfeld by morn.
/
In the dungeons, the lord of skinning the wretched muttered and shook his dirtied skull in his grip, cussing as he berated the fact of his proposal to his executioner.
"From the mere sight, no words should describe it." In robes of white and gold, there was only the friend of the dying to accompany Sion as he swiveled at the robed fae. "M – majesty! Why darest ye have she? She was to overthrow your father –
"Here it become you…. tut tut, Sion." Grandl gladly raised his first choice of weapon as the crying and weeping idiot made his nose tickle in anticipation. "Shut it, you brute! You had a chance to gain prestige - yet both of you lot, the queen you had pined for, were greedy and unwise. Death seems the better course of action…."
Grandl lifted the axe as his father's forbidden elixir had the child stronger than any savior to man. "No! Wait! The boy and w – woman! She was…was a dragon, my prince! Please! Spare this miserable –
"Off goes it, and I've heard enough of your wining for the rest of this hour-!"
Down, went the axe with a slick and sickening CHOP. Drinking in the head as it rolled to the side casually, as pearls to a supposed queen, Grandl threw down the block and growled in his desperation, "The queen...you would wed the one to kill y – you??" He laughed. "Father won't do the same…. same…to a d- d – damned…. whore !!" He cackled so loud it etched the walls like a forbidden curse. "I'll find her, yes…you just as well - know EXACTLY what to do to teach them both a lesson, in kind." In the dark, the prince raised his hood and stepped away. The mess on his hands didn't need to come off just yet as he scattered those remains by the sight – of burning torchlight and the odor of a criminal's curdling flesh. Made fresh in the back of this young assassin prince's mind, he walked away, unabated.
/
Next. Chapter is utter madness….the prince's? Find out! Grandl is losing his mind, Dick got Flo to visit but she won't leave just then and there, and Harlin may be plotting a couple with the Joker ( Jaime.) What will happen next? Find out!
Notice: Jason and Kori are together in this, he dies not bond a lot with her later or does he?...
Other note: I am a woman and thus, I torment fan character dudes from anime and cartoons because in the beginning of this I thought "alt version or universes are something I see a lot of in fanfic - I wonder if it's as hard as they say to write a smell one with hard-core topics is? That is what the result in a tangent ( asd and adhd ) is so far. Just fantasy, but still heavy stuff compared to my last series dead or alive….ugh?
Nothing against witches: So, the Sirens or the birds of prey in DC are going to show as being the real anti heroes ( no spoilers!) But, guess who that also includes? Poor Dick and Jason!
Tim and the young ones of the Bat clan: more a stereotype but Tim is a bookworm and a bit of a brain in this, not much muscle. Steph is the thundered and peppy brat of the group while I did mention Cass being Kudere material in the beginning. The ages now will be as follows; Tim is thirteen going on fourteen in winter. Stephanie would be the same come summer, Vass is Autumn and will be ten or eleven I think, Dick will be eighteen in spring ( duh) while Jason will be seventeen in the summer with Kori going on eighteen, yes. She is actually a cougar in this don't ask. Dami will be two in the next chapter and duke will be aged up with Kate to nineteen or twenty. Duke is polite and awkward and Kate is similar to Arte with a pension for hitting the bar. Rose is fifteen and Juel ( dead) was aged down to thirteen or so but he's not coming back….or Isherwood? Remember Roy and the witch they were asking about? That would be a clue as to whether we hear from him again, but I intend to reintroduce more Titans alt and Batman foes so stick around! Find out who this Nyght Hauk is in the Romani – ya legend of Richard's past. ( It's not the owls, but it is a bird…anyone wanna take a wild guess?)
