My Prompt Challenge
Summary: Challenging myself with different pairings, prompts and word limits.
AN: Hello my lovely readers! This is something I decided to try my hand at except not for any forum. I made several lists and had my family (Chosen By) pick numbers for me from each list and what you see before each story is what I had to work with. :) I haven't ever tried to write everyday and wanted to see if I could. I've pulled from many lists I have found over the years from the internet and compiled my own. It's a bit daunting but fun too! I never knew having a word limit could be so challenging! LOL Anyway, this is what I've managed to come up with. I'm not sure when I'll post this, we technically have internet but it won't load much so I'll have to wait until the next top up to upload anything. Also the Word Count at the end is taken from what Microsoft Word says. :)
Also, if there's a story you'd like to see longer, let me know. I don't promise anything but it may happen. :) You just never know with me. LOL If you'd like to pick the numbers for me, let me know in a comment. The numbers to choose from are:
Pairing: 1-25 (I'll need 2), Prompt 1: 1-50, Prompt 2: (only one) 1-31, 1-33, 1-30; Word Count: 1-4 and of course your screen name will be Chosen By. :) You'll know the results when I post it. ;) Romance isn't guaranteed, depends on what the muse wants. LOL
Anyway, thanks for reading and hope you enjoy each story as much as I loved the challenge of writing them! Love to you all, stay safe and sane out there!
Disclaimer: I make no money with this.

Story #00 (Testing)
The Second Wizarding War had ended, the Light side had won. With the majority of the wizarding world pitching in, Hogwarts and surrounding communities had been put to rights surprisingly quickly. It was after everything had been taken care of that wizards and witches finally breathed a sigh of relief. What no one expected were the many friendships formed during the reconstruction period. Although not everything was fixed with Tom Riddle finally dead but a lot was reconsidered. The purebloods no longer thought muggle-borns beneath them…well, most anyway. Half-bloods seemed the less changed while muggle-borns found they needn't try so hard to fit in.
It helped that Minerva McGonagall, the new Headmistress, created a summer camp type of program for all first years to attend a month before school would start. The "camp" was to help purebloods learn about the muggle world, properly updated and taught by a muggle, while half-bloods and muggle-borns learned about the society they were about to enter. It was hoped by all that these two courses would help clear up any misunderstandings before they could happen.
When Headmistress McGonagall offered to allow the former seventh years a chance to retake their final year, those who had survived had declined. The War had changed them too much to don a uniform and attend school as any other student when they were anything but. Of course, the Headmistress had understood and had given them her blessing to take their N.E.W.T.s at the Ministry which had been cleaned out by forcing all employees to take a vow to uphold the law. The hope was that it would help to keep the Ministry from being infiltrated as it had been.
The other major change that everyone hoped would improve the future was that sorting was no longer done until fifth year. It would help to keep boundaries as minimal as possible. No longer would a student be judged by the House they were sorted into. Minerva had always thought the sorting happened too soon, no student knew what they would become at eleven. It was only after several years that any traits would truly start to show and was beyond pleased when the community supported her on it. No one knew why the sorting had been changed to first years but the Founders had waited until the fifth year before they would sort, understanding that growing took time and a new environment could have more of an impact than realized.
Of all the changes made, the ones made at Hogwarts was what gave everyone hope that the future would become more stable and enjoyable for all. No one wanted a Riddle repeat.
The community as a whole pitched in to restore Hogwarts castle first before anything else. The grounds were easily taken care of but the castle would need the most attention, not to mention helping everyone feel as though the world would right itself if the school was back to normal. It gave many a sense of peace they hadn't realized they needed until it was done and Hogwarts stood in all her glory once again. The next thing had been restoring everything else.
Neville and several others concentrated on the greenhouses while Charlie Weasley with a larger group worked on the magical enclosures for the various creatures the school kept. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy along with several others worked on restoring the Quidditch pitch. There were also varying other groups that would work on other buildings around the school. It was these groups where friendships were created, for example: Charlie Weasley and Neville Longbottom. Due to having a few enclosures close to the greenhouses, the two wizards found themselves working in close proximity. Neville would help with the vegetation in the enclosures and Charlie would help capture the few beasts that had found sanctuary in a greenhouse.
"Good morning, Charlie." Neville greeted the wizard.
"Neville.' Charlie gave a small nod in return.
"I think we'll be finished today, what say you?" Neville asked. He had enjoyed working close to Charlie the past few weeks. It wasn't anything romantic, just a kindred spirit that enjoyed their job when many others didn't understand.
"I believe we may and just in time for the new school year to start." Charlie answered.
"Yeah, what will you do after this?" Neville wondered aloud.
"I didn't tell you?" Charlie's face showed his moment of confusion.
"Not that I know of, no." Neville stated.
"Ah, well, I'll be taking over the Care of Magical Creatures until Headmistress McGonagall can find someone else." Charlie explained.
"Really? That's great!" Neville smiled. "What about the sanctuary you worked at?"
"It's still there but my boss allowed me to help out here before returning. Unfortunately many dragons were killed when they were rode to War or because they wouldn't comply." Charlie shared sadly.
"Sorry to hear that." Neville said.
"Thanks. There were a few that flew off but that'll be for a later time as long as they don't cause trouble." Charlie grinned.
Neville chuckled, "I'm sure."
"What about you? What plans do you have? Will you return to redo your seventh year?" Charlie inquired.
"No, I sat my N.E.W.T.s already at the Ministry." Neville answered as he looked towards the castle. "I just can't see being a student again, not after everything I've been through."
"I hear you. It would be strange." Charlie agreed.
"Yeah, I don't think anyone from my year is returning. Too much happened on all fronts." Neville sighed.
"So true, my friend, too many memories." Charlie stated.
"Exactly." Neville nodded.
As the two wizards finished for the day, they headed towards to the school to give McGonagall their progress report. Just as they passed the Great Hall there was a loud bang before Neville pushed Charlie out of the way as a young wizard stumbled through the doors and fell, dropping the crate of potion bottles.
Most of the mess missed them but a pink'ish purple'ish bottle flew through the air and hit Neville causing it to break.
"Neville!" Charlie yelled, trying to get a response from him.
When Neville gave Charlie a blank look, Charlie became concerned.
"Hey, Neville, you alright?" Charlie prodded.
"Who are you?" Neville asked, thoroughly confused. "Where am I?"
"Oh boy." Charlie murmured before he gave his friend a gentle smile. "I'm Charlie and I need you to come with me to the medi-wing so Poppy can look you over." Charlie explained as he helped Neville up.
"Oh, alright." Neville complied as he allowed Charlie to help him. "What happened?"
Charlie explained the accident as he led Neville to Madam Pomfrey, hoping she would be able to fix the problem of Neville's memory loss.
