Some of us did want Cat Noir with Ladybug to fight against Monarch in the finale but we all don't know how Cat Noir would react into finding out that Gabriel is Monarch. Other fanfics I read, some have forgiveness, some have Adrien not want to forgive his father. Even I wouldn't forgive Gabriel too if he can't learn to forgive himself since he can't. As we know, Gabriel is not that kind of person to let things go when he had the chance. As for Adrien, he would feel betrayed and and miserable. Even if Gabriel did not make the wish, he would still die along with Nathalie too. If only Bug Noire knew the real solution to saving him but I know its impossible because the cataclysm is irreversible. But since he made the wish, we all don't know how Adrien and Nathalie will take it well from the trailer of London special. Grief takes a while to process but like Emilie said, as long as there's love it is possible to heal a broken heart.
Monarch knew these brats wouldn't stand a chance but he can't use all of the miraculous at once or he gets drained. Using Second Chance for a failed attempt, he'll accelerate the cataclysm on his body and definitely reach his head and heart area.
"Gabriel, you know this better than anyone else. Give up the miraculous or face the consequences. It's not too late to change your mind" Ladybug said.
"Technically he never changes his mind for anyone, Ladybug. He's gone…" Argos whistles like a cuckoo, "…..Far beyond like a moth to a flame"
"He's right, Milady" Cat Noir said.
"Insolent brats!" Monarch used Multitude to multiply.
"Alright Let's do it!" Argos unfolds his fan.
"I hate dark miraculous but we still keep winning," Cat Noir said before jumping over a clone.
"If we knew who's the real one!" Ladybug attacks some of the clones.
"Not if I do this!" Argos grabs the arm and dislocates it, causing all the clones to feel it all at once.
"AH HA!" Ladybug kicks at Monarch, sending him across the floor.
"Uncle! Enough! You may have lost Aunt Emilie but your grief is feeding your anger! You're destroying yourself with an irrational obsession with the miraculous!" Argos yelled.
"I should thank you for giving me the miraculous! I could've wiped your existence with the time Miraculous if Ladybug and Cat Noir didn't interfere!" Monarch trying to toy with his guilt and fear.
"I shouldn't have done that! It's been giving me nightmares for my evil deeds with the red moon! The only monster here is you!" Argos shouted.
"And Adrien is not your possession to control his life! We all want the same thing to make him happy but that's his own choice to build his own vision of happiness!" Ladybug swung her yo-yo.
"I'm his father!" Monarch used the Rooster miraculous to turn invisible.
"A father doesn't become a monster to scare his son like that!" Cat Noir said, grabbing flour from the kitchen to pour it all over.
Once visible, Cat Noir strikes him, "If I had a son I would be a better father than you were to Adrien!" He let out his anger.
"And a father would pay more attention to their son, not give orders or appointments like some employee!" Ladybug said.
"And if your wife found out what you've done, she'll see your true colors!" Cat Noir knocked Monarch to the table.
"Aunt Emilie would have told you to learn to let things go but instead you only care about yourself! You already disrespected and kicked my mother out instead of helping her find me! My mother loved her sister as much as Adrien loved his mother too! But that is the past!" Argos threw his fan at him.
"ARGH!" The fan sliced his wrist.
"Argos, stop! You'll kill him!" Cat Noir said.
"I'm not!" Argos said and faced Monarch, "Give it up, Monarch. The miraculous deserves to be with the guardian! Duusu told me everything about how you treated him and Nooro as slaves! You don't deserve a miraculous!"
"Kwamis are meant to be treated as friends, not slaves," Ladybug said.
"Unlike you, our teammates treat the kwamis well and learn to work together without force!" Cat Noir whacked him with his staff.
Ladybug reached out and removed the brooch. Argos and Cat Noir restrained him before he tried anything to push them off. Argos punched his uncle in the gut, causing him to cough black ashes out of his mouth.
"My god!" Ladybug exclaimed.
"Get it off!" Argos grabbed the rings from his left hand.
Ladybug pulled the rings from his right hand, "It's over Gabriel, you have lost!" Cat Noir said.
"No!" Monarch pushed them off, only remaining with the brooch, "You can't control the miraculous, I can!"
"You abuse them!" Cat Noir snarled.
"Stop this madness, Gabriel! You're still losing everything to yourself! There's nothing in the world to bring Adrien back! You already neglected him long enough!" Argos yelled.
"Time to drop the mask" Cat Noir muttered.
"Don't!" Argos stopped Cat Noir from saying the words, "If you do that, he'll akumatize you again" Argos whispered.
"Right," Cat Noir stopped himself, "Monarch, if you knew your son how he feels, you should've listened to him! He told me how you ignore his advice the same way you ignore his girlfriend's advice! You know what that makes you? A stubborn man who refuses to listen to anyone but your own madness!" Cat Noir ranted.
"It is too late for me," Monarch said.
"Emilie was something to you but if she saw what you did, she would be scared, angry, and disgusted if someone took her place! There's a difference between happiness and reality. You think you'll be happy if she's brought back but in reality, she wouldn't be happy at all but see that you're not the man she loved anymore!" Cat Noir said.
"Kitty, what are you doing?" Ladybug whispered, asking how does he know this.
"It's something I learned" Cat Noir whispered.
"Emilie was everything to me! I cannot live without her!" Monarch shouted.
"You're already dying too! Preserving a dead body to keep her alive is just selfish and wrong! Yeah, I saw where she was kept, uncle!" Argos said.
"And Lila knows too! You trusted her but when you replaced her with Kagami, she was angry and she stole your secrets as Hoaxer by controlling Nathalie to take pictures of every secret you hid! Akumas can go against you!" Ladybug held out Lila's phone.
"What?!" Monarch gasps.
"So your real name is Gabi Grassette and you came from a french fry business," Cat Noir said.
"There was never an Agreste family tree. You were not born an Agreste but Adrien is the first one to be born as an Agreste" Ladybug said.
"Is that why you wanted Adrien to marry Kagami for both companies to combine? Arranged marriage is very illegal in France" Cat Noir said, walking up to him.
"Yes, it was," Monarch said.
"Except you are not honoring your wife anymore. You're only grieving her death. Every parent loses their spouse but unlike you, they move on and take responsibility for raising their kids, not neglecting them or isolating them. If you can't raise your son for her, then you are not the father Adrien sees in you" Cat Noir said, explaining what a parent is supposed to be.
"My father died too but my mother would never want to bring him back. She had a responsibility to raise me properly rather than having my father abuse me. The more you abuse him, the more he'll become like me with childhood trauma. Especially how he'll become an orphan which will be worse because of the madness you're creating" Argos explained why his uncle is not doing something like a normal parent would do.
Monarch was now at a loss for words.
"I know this than you. The question is why did you force me to cataclysm you? To traumatize me to become a murderer or rather die and leave Adrien as an orphan?" Cat Noir asked.
"That was just out of desperation to escape," Monarch said.
"You doomed yourself by it! Because the lucky charm wasn't used in time to heal you! The effect is now irreversible!" Ladybug shouted.
"Every disaster you avoid, you create another after another. That's why you don't learn to let things go. Grief can have stages and you never bothered to go to therapy for it" Cat Noir said, aware of the punch but he caught it, "Anger destroys your mental state, replacing sanity with insanity. Every consequence you avoid, you're making everyone pay the price of your madness"
Monarch struggled when Cat Noir forced him on his knees.
"Pain can never go away, Gabriel. It's part of life and everyone heals from that pain. Adrien didn't suffer the loss of his mother because he cherished the memory of her and he never forgot her. He met friends and love which is his real own happiness. Nathalie would have made that promise to Emilie too to keep you and Adrien happy, but you never let them into your heart, you let grief into your cold heart" Cat Noir grabbed the brooch, freeing Nooro from his owner.
"I'M FREE! I'M FREE!" Nooro cried in joy.
"Nooro! Obey me now!" Gabriel was in no condition to fight due to the cataclysm spreading his torso.
"You're no longer my master!" Nooro refused.
"Master? You forced him to call you master?!" Cat Noir yelled in anger by punching him in the face. He didn't mean to but Gabriel shouldn't force kwamis to do his bidding like that the same way he does to Adrien to obey orders.
"Kitty! Are you out of your mind?!" Ladybug saw it.
"He deserved it," Cat Noir said coldly.
"And for akumatizing everyone, including Marinette and Adrien. Princess Justice could've faced Gabriel but not like this. And Dark Reaper would've killed him" Argos said.
"What do you suppose we do with him, in that current state?" Ladybug asked.
"Let misery take its toll. After all, he played God with the miraculous. The real God was never on his side" Cat Noir said.
Ladybug and even Argos was shocked hearing his cold attitude.
"Kitty, we're not merciless," Ladybug said.
"Do you know how hard it is to fight akumatized victims who are controlled by him? Betterfly was nothing like him but at least we experienced what it's like to be kamikotized rather than evil influence us. This one, he obviously silenced other kwamis who tried to warn him but he never listened. This time, let him beg for it and see what that's like for him" Cat Noir said, taking his leave, not wanting to find his mother's body since he is not in the right state of mind.
Ladybug looks up seeing him leave and Argos then grabs Gabriel, "Time to spend your last days behind bars" He took him away.
"No, we can't have any more pain for Adrien. If we reveal, everyone will ask questions about Adrien the son of Monarch" Ladybug said, knowing this will mentally hurt Adrien more.
"You're right," Argos said, taking the rings and giving them to her, "My debt has been paid"
"Wake him up. We don't know where he kept the kwamis. He doesn't have much time left to live" Ladybug said.
"Get up, Gabriel" Argos shook Gabriel awake to get him to the kwamis.

In the meantime, Cat Noir sighs in sadness and relief that Monarch's regime is over but that he'll be an orphan soon. Nathalie is going through the same illness his mother went through and both really did not want him to worry about it but he did feel overwhelmed by it. He thought it was some kind of new illness or cancer. If his mother did leave recordings of her final words or requests, she probably left them for Nathalie. She couldn't have left them for his father because he remembered sneaking downstairs when he was 10 and heard an argument from his parents discussing for Adrien's future.
(Flashback)
"Gabriel, please. I don't care what happens to me but this is about Adrien we are talking about. He is just a child who needs to explore his own life" Emilie begged Gabriel to stop looking at the miraculous book containing all the previous holders' illustrations from Ancient China.
"I'm trying to save you, my love! I cannot do this without you! He needs his mother" Gabriel said, refusing to be responsible alone to care for Adrien.
"He has you, Placide, and Nathalie. He needs friends and he needs to socialize with new people than just Chloe" Emilie said.
"They could be bad influences on him!" Gabriel protested.
"You just have to trust them. They'd make him happy" Emilie insisted.
"Things don't remain the same forever, Gabriel. We protected him long enough but now it's his turn to protect himself. He won't be a kid for long and I wish for him to meet new people his age at school" Emilie said.
"I'm his father and I decide what's best for him. He is safe being homeschooled and away from influences" Gabriel refused to let Adrien go to a public school.
"Don't ever say that to satisfy yourself" Emilie doesn't like that when he says he knows what's best for him the same way he knows what's best for her.
Adrien can hear the argument and it makes him upset at how much his parents are becoming apart because neither of them is doing something for Adrien's life. Although Emilie wants Adrien to create his own vision of happiness when he's 13 while Gabriel wants to decide what he needs for his life without anyone influencing him. He just wished that he had a normal family.
"I was the same way when my parents made me into something I never want to be but my sister chooses to be a good daughter to them. I gave up my wealth and rank for you. I don't want the same for Adrien to go through pressure like I did" Emilie tries to reason him to be there for Adrien until she kicks the bucket.
"I'll see what I can do about it" Gabriel pretends to agree.
"Gabriel, Adrien is a kid. I love him so much to see him grow up like the little prince he is. He needs friends in his life and friendship is more important to help him grow and learn teenage life" Emilie said.
"Very well. I just can't live without you as much as he can't either" Gabriel sighs at this.
"Adrien is a strong kid, Gabriel," Emilie said.
Adrien walks up to his room, hoping his parents can agree on something.
(End of flashback)
Until now, his father broke that promise to Emilie because all he cares about is obedience and control but when Adrien tries everything for him, gets no approval at all. Which was why he wanted to go to school like his mother wanted him to meet new people.
"Life is just not fair, isn't it?" He said to himself.
"I just hope I had the chance to tell Ladybug why my anger was so great towards him"
He can smell feathers nearby, "Argos, I know you're there. Don't try to cheer me up with your sentimonster vibe whatever thing"
"I actually came to say that Ladybug and I have freed the kwamis and she's going to fix the rings back to their original forms. As for Gabriel, well he's going to rot in prison for his last days." Argos said.
"Please don't. No one should know about this. If it gets out, I'll be criticized by everyone to believe I aided a terrorist" Cat Noir said.
"Well, then secrets should die with him," Argos said.
"You're kidding me, right? Cerise knows. You know, hell, even I know too. I'm stuck living in hell because of him and if he dies, he'll haunt me and ruin my life all over again. I'm not legally 18 to own a mansion. Plus, you and your mom are the only relatives I have left and I don't want to live in London for 4 years of my life" Cat Noir said, predicting his future.
"What about living with your princess? Surely child services can do something" Argos said.
"They have a small house, Felix. It's either I get adopted at foster care or you and your mother take child custody of me. I was hoping for Nathalie. I once heard my mother tell Nathalie if anything happened to her, Nathalie would take care of me. But Nathalie is dying too. My bodyguard has no experience raising a child. He came from your father and you know it" Cat Noir said.
"If there's a problem, there's a solution," Argos said.
"Of course. But I hope you can convince your mother to move here. Paris is my home" Cat Noir said.
"And that's what my mother wanted. We hated living in London so much. But your father always forbids anyone in the mansion. My mother missed your mum so much that she wanted to honor her. Even I honor your mother too, with this" Argos pointed at his brooch.
"The one thing that made us," Cat Noir said.
"And your father only made you into a doll in his doll house to play around with his ridiculous legacy he never had. Seriously, fencing, Chinese lessons, modeling? Those are his fantasies for his reputation and future, not even your own future you never had" Argos said.
"Yes, it's quite a shock learning that Agreste is a fraud name. I suppose he abandoned his old life by changing his legal surname at court years ago. It's the same like Cerise changing her fake name identities without going to court which is highly illegal" Cat Noir sighs in anger that he needs to tell his father he is Cat Noir, "Where is Gabriel now?"
"He's still at the mansion. He's throwing a bad tantrum like an angry baby wanting to know where Adrien is" Argos replied.
"Oh boy, and for losing all miraculous to us," Cat Noir said.
